"Kid! Hey! I'm talking to you blondie!".
The boy in question finally turned to Captain Ginew who was now tired of flying after him; they had been traveling for hours and despite his repeated questions, the blondie hadn't yet given him all the necessary explanations. The only good thing about that trip was that he had finally regained his original form and the ability to speak.
"Where exactly are we going to? We've been flying hypothetically aimlessly for literally two hours since we're basically traveling in circles, so tell me what's going on!"
The boy stared at him for a few seconds with a questioning look, before smiling at him sweetly: "I'm sorry Captain, but unfortunately I have a roadmap to follow before I can return to the world of the Afterlife and be able to accompany you to the Underworld. At the moment I'm looking for another lost soul, the last one on the list, and then we can go".
"And how much longer is it going to take? So you know that I'm starting to lose my patience and I don't know how much it cold be a good thing for you". His veiled threat was greeted by yet another smile, but at that moment there was something in the boy's eyes and voice that sent severe shivers of discomfort down his spine. "I can assure you that try as you may, Captain Ginew, you pose no threat to me. Don't underestimate me just because I'm younger than you."
After that brief veiled warning, the journey continued without further exchanges between the two, until it was the boy himself who suddenly stopped.
And what's wrong now?
It was as if frozen, petrified in mid-air staring into space, as if at some point it was like ... turned off, in a sense.
Ginew, intrigued, walked past him standing in front of him, trying to get his attention by waving a hand in front of his face. "Hey kid! May I know what's wrong? Hey there, is anyone home?".
He reached out to place a hand on his shoulder…when he snatched it up, tightening his grip!
"Hey let me go! Let me go!". A twinge of pain shot up Ginew's arm as he tried in vain to free himself from the young man's grip on his wrist; not even throwing a ball of energy at him was of much use, the boy was not affected at all.
Ginew realized that perhaps the boy wasn't joking about his strength.
Just as he had entered that state of trance, the young man seemed to come out of it suddenly, shaking his head from side to side as if to want to free himself from some annoying thought; when he finally realized what he was doing to the Captain, he abruptly let go, then proceeded to quickly apologize to him for hurting him.
"Oh for all the Hells, Captain! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me!", he gently took his aching hand in his, massaging his wrist to somehow ease the pain, all underneath the bewildered look of the other: that boy was definitely a strange guy...
He quickly withdrew his hand from his grip (not because he was worried he might grab it again, just because it bothered him!) and pulled away from him. "Come on, come on, I don't want to stay here any longer, I want to go back to my mates".
Newone looked at him again with a sorry expression on his face, but hurriedly nodded and joined him. "You're right, we'd better hurry. I have a feeling that something happened in the Afterlife anyway, so the sooner I get this last soul back, the sooner I can go and check that everything is okay. I hope nothing had happened to King Kaio in my absence...".
