The next day, Lucy was planning Charity's birthday with Luke. Shiloh slid down the banister, giggling. "It's my birthday! I'm 5!" He squeals excitedly as Luke catches him.
"It sure is!" Luke said and smiled as he carried Shiloh on his shoulders.
Luan was making a birthday breakfast for the birthday boy. Shiloh smelled breakfast and grinned.
"Breakfast!" He cheered.
"You have to sit still so you can eat it, okay?" Lynn says, knowing Shiloh is quite the ball of energy.
"Okay." he says. Luan gives Shiloh his breakfast as he notices the candle on the stack of pancakes.
"Oooh…" he says.
"Make a wish and blow it out!" Luke says.
He wished he'd have an awesome party and blew out the candle before eating his breakfast.
Lucy heads out to get supplies while Luke takes Shiloh to look at his new school as he would be starting pre-K after winter break. He will attend kindergarten in the fall.
He looks around. The pre-K teacher smiles and walks up to Luke and Shiloh, who looked a little scared.
"Why, hello there!" he says.
"H-Hi…" Shiloh says.
"This is Shiloh Loud. He's not normally this scared or shy…" Luke says.
"That's okay, you want the school tour?" he asked.
Shiloh nodded, clutching Luke's hand as they walked.
Leni and Lucy look for some party snacks for Shiloh and Charity's birthdays.
"I found Mom's favorite!" Leni says. "But what is Shiloh's favorite snack?"
"Chocolate chip cookies, like everyone." Lucy says. "He also likes Cheetos. The crunchy kind."
"Oh, okay." Leni says.
"Now to find a gift for him." Lucy says.
Leni sees a trampoline and a bouncy house.
"I say get him both." Lucy says. "Lynn got him a big-boy bike. Aunt Sharon took Shiloh off the training wheels."
"Okay, you 4, since we're all siblings, we need to set up an epic party for Oliver's half-birthday." Emma says.
"It's today?" Pam asked.
"No, next year. I forget cause he actually moves his half-birthday a few times" Emma says " But I'm pretty sure it's the 16th since his real birthday is on the 16th of June."
"It is." Griffin says.
"Okay, then, let's get planning for his half birthday, then his 17th birthday." Emma says
"He's turning 17 in June?" Stevie asked.
"Yep, you're the ones who left him." Alem tuber says.
"His half birthday is on January 16th, but he'll probably be helping Luke that day. So he may celebrate later in the day." Emma says.
Meanwhile, Shelby and Lincoln were with Lori, looking for a nice gift.
"How about a train set?" Lori says. "Does he like that?"
"Yeah, he does, but he breaks them a lot." Shelby says.
"Maybe we should get him something he won't destroy within 5 minutes of having it." Lincoln says.
"Like what?" Lori asked. Shelby got a colorful ball.
"Will he destroy that?" Lori asked.
"No way!" Shelby says.
Meanwhile, Shiloh was still holding Luke's hand as they took the school tour.
"So, what do you think, Shiloh?" Luke asked.
"It's nice…" he says. "I like the playground and the gym and the big blocks…and the little musical instruments that look like Shane's big ones…"
"Would you feel better if I brought you on your first day?" Luke asked. Shiloh nodded.
Later, Lynn was wrapping up his gift. Shiloh was climbing up as he attempted a cannonball and landed on Lynn, who groaned.
"How did he do on his school tour?" Shane asked Luke.
"Great." Luke says.
"I think he'll fit in just fine." Charity says with a smile.
"We gotta show you around." Lori tells Shelby.
"Where do we start?" Shelby asked.
"Your school, but we'll tour it next week." Lori says, so she took them to the Burpin' Burger.
Charity helped Sharon put Shiloh down for a nap after he had his lunch.
"He is cute when he's asleep…" Luna says.
"Agreed." Lynn says.
The others were decorating as they wanted this to be special for Shiloh.
Some time later, Shiloh slowly woke up.
"Hello?" He said as he looked around the slightly darkened room he had been sleeping in.
He looks around some more, then hears some noise downstairs. He comes out of his room to investigate. Instead of jumping or sliding, he walks down the stairs.
He finally made it downstairs as confetti fell on him, which caused him to be very surprised, yet curious.
"Happy birthday, Shiloh!" Everyone said. Shiloh was smiling at this.
"For me?" He asked. "Is all this for me?"
"Yeah!" Shelby says. "Do you like it?"
"Yeah, I do!" Shiloh says. "I love it!"
"Hello!" Emma says, waving. Shiloh waved back.
"Oh, you two will be going to school together." Luke says. "Don't worry, I'm still taking you on your first day, Shiloh."
Lynn reveals her gift as Shiloh opened it.
"What is it, what is it?" Shiloh asked. "A big-boy bike! Yay! I love it! Thank you, cousin Lynn!"
"No problem. If you want, I'll take you if Luke's busy." Lynn says.
"No! I want Luke to take me! He helped me feel better on my school tour…" Shiloh sniffed.
Lynn flinched as she used to be Shiloh's favorite, but Luke straight up stole that title.
"It's only for the first day, Lynn. But I don't see why you both couldn't take him." Sharon says. Lynn felt a little better upon hearing this.
"Here, Shiloh." Lucy says as she got him a bouncy house toy.
"Cool!" Shiloh says, brightening up. He started bouncing as Leni smiled.
"Okay, now here's a gift you can't break." Shelby says as Shiloh opens his gift, seeing a colorful bouncy ball. He starts to play with it.
"See?" Shelby says, but Shiloh bursts it open with his strength. Charity smiles and fixes the ball with her magic, which was hidden from sight.
"Oooh…" Shiloh giggles and puts the ball away as he opens Shane's present, which is a box of Blippi merchandise. Shiloh squealed.
"Best brother ever!" Shiloh says as he hugs Shane. Shane lifted him up and smiled.
"No, you are the best and you deserve this day!" Shane smiles at Shiloh.
After gifts, everyone sits around, chatting. Lynn was playing with Shiloh.
Lucy noticed Shiloh had a sugar rush and Lynn had challenged him to a game. They took the game outside, mostly because Charity had asked them to.
"What kind of game is it?" Luan asked.
"Tag." Lucy says.
"A game Shiloh excels in." Shelby says.
"Against Lynn?" Luke asked.
"Against anyone. He was the fastest runner in his preschool class." Shelby says. "Lynn just lets him win, because really, she's like him, but more experienced."
Later, Shiloh got hungry. Lynn carried him to the table as the pizza had just arrived.
Charity gave Shiloh two slices of cheese pizza with some crunchy Cheetos on the side and some green Hawaiian Punch to drink.
"And what kind of pizza do you want, Shelby?" Charity asked.
She thinks and goes for meat lovers', so Charity serves her next. Shane gets cheese pizza and sits next to Shiloh.
After eating came the piñata. Shiloh was grinning as Sharon hung it up.
Lynn gave him a bat. "Go break that piñata wide open, Shi!" Lynn says. "Let me see that swing!"
Shiloh whacked it hard as candy fell everywhere. Shiloh grabbed his share of the candy and ate a bit of it.
"This is awesome!" Shiloh says.
Charity played music as most everyone danced. Shiloh, however, was jumping on the couch.
Lucy was concerned. Shiloh was trying to "stage dive" off the couch.
"Rock on, little dude!" Luna says. Shiloh jumps off as Luna catches him.
"Wheeee!" Shiloh says as Luna dances with him.
Before cake, Oliver sighed. Luke could see the look on his face.
"Are you okay, Oliver?" Luke asked.
Oliver thinks of his half birthday. Even though he knows he'll spend time with Luke that day, he's convinced his siblings will forget. Especially after they hurt him.
He tells Luke, who understands his pain.
"They just want to butter me up and try to pretend everything is okay again. In my eyes, nothing is okay!" Oliver cries.
"Emma loves you." Luke says.
"She isn't invited neither is Brandy or Randy. They're not my real siblings." Oliver says.
Luke put an arm around Oliver's shoulder.
The two of them sat side-by-side at cake time. Shiloh was bouncing up and down in the "seat of honor" Luan had put together for him.
"I baked your favorite cake!" Luan says.
"Oooh! Is it chocolate with M&M's on it? I like that so, so much!" Shiloh says, grinning.
"Yeah!" Luan says. Shiloh clapped with excitement as it was set before him, five colorful candles illuminating his smiling face.
Shane led off the singing as the others sang along. Shiloh was practically beaming at the attention he was getting. Like Luke, he loved his birthday, but didn't obsess over it.
Soon, he thinks of a wish and wishes Shane would win ANH. He then blew out the candles in two tries. Everyone cheered.
Lucy was thinking of her mom's birthday. She planned everything. She wanted Luke, Shane, and Luna to perform for her, and maybe Lisa if possible. She also planned a parade around town.
Charity was carrying Shiloh up to bed that night. Sharon was helping the others clean up from the party.
She set Shiloh down in the guest bed and smiled down at him. He did look sweet when he was sleeping.
"Happy pre-birthday, mom." Lucy says. scaring her and waking Shiloh, who started crying.
"Shiloh, it's okay. Go back to bed." Lucy says, trying to get him back to sleep.
"Little brother, it's gonna be okay." Shane says to Shiloh. "Would you like me to sing one of your favorite sleepytime tunes?"
Shiloh nodded and sniffed. Shane began to sing Shiloh's bedtime song "Time To Count Sheep", one he wrote when Shiloh was just a year old.
Shiloh soon drifted back to sleep, snoring lightly.
Oliver sighed heading home and saw Emma sleeping on a glue puddle with a gift for Oliver. Oliver looked closely at it. It was wrapped a bit, but not entirely well. It looked like a toy was inside.
And unintentionally, Emma had glued herself to the table. Oliver just shook his head and went off to get ready for bed.
He sees his siblings hanging out. The quadruplets then ask him how Shiloh's party went.
"Peachy." he hissed before going up to his room.
"Hey, Luke." Lucy asked and showed her plans for Charity's birthday.
Luke looked over them. Seeing a ball pit, poetry slam, and a parade.
"Mom doesn't want to do a birthday parade this year. I know this because she's not wanting to show off to the entire town. Take it from someone who knows her best. And the poetry slam is a nice idea. I think she'll love that. As for the ball pit…it could be a little more suited to Mom's tastes." Luke says.
Lucy blushed, embarrassed.
"So you wanna do something tomorrow?" Griffin asked Oliver.
"Like what?" Oliver asked.
"Going out." Pam says.
"Just us. Doing whatever you want to do." Rachel says.
"Okay." Oliver says.
