Chapter 2: My Sacred Gear is what?
Kyoto, Japan, Yasaka's Palace
As soon as they arrived, Keith immediately started to feel nauseous due to this being his first time ever teleporting. He grabbed his stomach with one hand and grabbed his mouth with the other. Thankfully, he didn't vomit anywhere. He was stronger than this!
"Here we are!" The fox woman said happily, pride evident on her face.
Taking calming breaths, Keith started to look around for a bit, taking in the scenery before him: a huge palace which really gave him the idea of a shrine, but much bigger, colourful patterns of red, white and black adorned on its walls, as well as Sakura trees greeting the path towards two ornated wooden doors, one door having the image of a fox on it, while the other of a Sun.
He was however confused to not see anybody, well being fair it was around 11 PM so probably people were either sleeping or just staying in their rooms.
"Come, let's go inside!" She said cheerfully, grabbing his hand and dragging him like a doll.
"Oi! Don't drag me around!" His plea fell on deaf years as the woman just tightened her grip on his hand and stuck her tongue out playfully.
With a sigh, he let himself being dragged around, not even being able to take in the interior of the marvellous palace, until they arrived at their destination.
"I am aware that you are tired…as of the events that happened tonight." She said the last part a bit quieter, not wanting to make him remember of what he had to go through.
"Uh, right." He blinked as the door opened and his eyes widened when he saw the room he is going to sleep in, if it could even be called a room. The interior was way bigger than one would believe it to be, the bed was at least queen sized bed, perhaps a bit larger, he had his own bathroom, a small kitchen and even a plasma TV!
'The hell are these people? Rich?!' He thought drily. Here he was busting his ass off to pay the rent and all that and these…Youkai had these living arrangements?
"I know it may not be much, but please do with it this night and from tomorrow we will see for you to get a more comfortable room." The kitsune may have mistaken his look as if this was not enough.
"Are you serious right now?" He asked as his eyebrow twitched. She couldn't be serious now could she? A more comfortable room?
"Huh?"
"This is enough lady, more than enough actually." He told her, a tired look on his face. "I don't understand what else could be more comfortable than this, but at this point I am not even going to argue." With a sigh he started to make his way inside until a hand grabbed his again.
"Ah wait! I forgot to introduce myself to you with everything that transpired." She giggled embarrassedly. Regaining her composure, with another warm smile, she introduced herself,
"I am Kunou, a nine-tailed kitsune and your hostess for tonight." She said the last part playfully, bowing.
"Keith Nakamura." He said trying to give at least 25% of a smile the woman gave him, which only made his eyebrow twitch again as she started to laugh.
"You know, you don't have to force yourself to smile if you don't feel like it." She said, mirth still plastered on her face.
As he heard that, his face went back to the usual blank look he wore almost all the time.
"Right…anyway…uh, see you tomorrow?" He said awkwardly. He never talked to someone this much, let alone to a girl.
"Sure!" She said excitedly. "Tomorrow we'll see what Sacred Gear you have."
"Joy." He mumbled. Of course, giving her enhanced hearing, Kunou heard him but decided to not say anything. She gave him a good night to which he replied and parted their ways.
After guiding Keith to his room, Kunou made her way towards the next floor. At the end of the corridor, there were to doors which led to a big room where usually important meetings took place and where her mother, the current Leader of the West Youkai, had her desk, which she was currently sat at. As soon as she heard the doors open, her ears twitched and smiled upon seeing her daughter.
Yasaka is, in lack of greater terms, drop dead gorgeous, which was expected seeing as Kunou was not far behind. She is wearing the traditional shrine maiden attire, together with a white coat over it which is held closed by a red ribbon. Her figure was, and here nobody could ever say otherwise, more voluptuous than one could even begin to fathom. She has long blonde hair kept in a pony tail reaching down to her legs, similar to Kunou's but way longer, matching eyes and delicate facial features. Of course, as a kitsune herself, the two fox ears and the nine fluffy tails were not missing.
"Ah, Kunou-chan, you are back." She said, a gentle smile adorned her face.
"Mm! I can see you are still working."
Yasaka's smile turned into exasperation when she saw the paperwork she still had to do, as well as the meeting she will have to participate in soon. All this workload was giving her a headache. Kunou, seeing her mother's expression, giggled and gave her a hug which the older kitsune returned.
"So, how did it go?" She knew that her daughter got the job done, but as a parent, a mother nonetheless, she couldn't not worry.
Kunou's expression darkened slightly. "A Stray Devil…again."
Hearing her words, Yasaka frowned. She couldn't understand the sudden appearances of both Stray Devils and Fallen Angels in her territory. It was almost as if someone was bringing them here…but who?
Knowing she couldn't find an answer right now she sighed and looked at Kunou once again.
"Anything else interesting of which I may know?"
Kunou regained her smile upon hearing this.
"Mm! I met a human and brought him here." She said giddily.
The mother blinked two, three times then sighed.
"You brought a human here…" She repeated at which her daughter nodded. She massaged her temples. A headache was due. "Why?"
"He was being attacked by the Stray and almost gobbled up." She informed. "However, I felt a Sacred Gear inside of him."
Oh? This got Yasaka's undivided attention. A Sacred Gear owner in Kyoto was rare enough.
"Any ideas on what type?"
Kunou shook her head negatively.
"All I could feel was a very small portion of Holy energy."
Yasaka intertwined her fingers and placed her chin on them, her face betraying no emotions, meaning that she was thinking. Not many knew this, but Holy energy was not powerful only against Devils and Vampires, but against Youkai as well. Of course they were more resistant against it, but it didn't mean they couldn't be dangerously hurt by it.
Deciding that thinking about it now wouldn't make any difference, she sighed and began to organize her desk for tomorrow.
"Although I am very curious about this human you told to me about, I believe it is time to go to sleep." Kunou nodded and left the room towards her own chamber.
Yasaka however narrowed her eyes and began to think of the possibilities.
"It couldn't be it, could it?" She asked, not expecting an answer. "It wasn't seen for quite some time now…if he has it, I hope everything will work out smoothly."
She rose from her chair and went to the door, clapped her hands to turn off the lights and sealed the doors with a powerful spell. She couldn't be too sure now, could she? She then started to make her way towards her own room, which was close to Kunou's, knowing that her curiosity will be sated tomorrow.
When morning came, Keith woke up with a start, frantically looking every direction until the memories of the last night returned to him. Taking a few calming breaths, he regained his composure. Today he would find out what Sacred Gears he had and hopefully it wasn't anything big. He would hate to complicate his life even more.
"Keith-kun! Are you awake?" He heard the voice of the kitsu- Kunou outside his door. When he looked at the watch that hung on the wall it showed 9:27 AM. So he slept in for a bit, doesn't matter, it was welcomed.
Wait a minute, Keith-kun?
"Uh, yeah I am awake." He responded. He heard the door's handle click and it opened.
"Great." She offered him a smile. "Come, we have much to do today."
With a sigh, he got out of bed and started to follow her. He noticed that he begun to sigh way more since tonight…all of this became such a pain in the ass, only because of some damn donuts! His attention turned to her tails which swayed with every move she made.
"We are going to eat breakfast and then we will meet my mother." She informed him. This made him flinch slightly, however he begun to register what she just said.
"Uh…why are we meeting your mother?" He asked confused. Weren't they supposed to find out about his Sacred Gear?
"You'll see." Was her only response. She made a turn to the right, which he followed, and arrived in a huge room, that all in all, looked like a dining room, but way bigger and with a lot of tables accompanied by chairs.
'Damn rich people and their money!' He was seething behind his blank expression. He couldn't believe that whoever lived here had this much money. However his eyes widened when he looked who was inside. A multitude of…Youkai he believed, talking, sitting and enjoying each other's presence. He gulped when he noticed some looking at him intently.
"Don't worry, they won't attack you or anything." She assured him gently. "They are only curious since we do not have many humans here."
"R-Right…" He muttered, trying to calm himself. Seeing him not freak out and running away or whatnot, Kunou smiled. She at least earned a little bit of his trust. She then went to grab a menu for him.
"Choose whatever you want to eat and wait for your turn." Kunou told him as she handed it to him.
"Have anything to recommend?" He asked, looking at the menu and trying not to lose his mind when seeing the sheer amount of foods in it.
"Hmm." She took a thinking pose. "I usually order Miso Soup since it is my favourite."
With a grunt he acknowledged her and went to order. Of course he knew that he could not live in fear or concern forever. At the very least, he could behave like a normal human being…well as normal one could be among Youkai.
'Tch! This is such a pain.' He steeled his resolve and stood behind some big wolf youkai who didn't even acknowledge his existence, which he was very grateful for. The last thing he wanted was to be the centre of attention.
He watched as the row of people diminished until it was his turn.
"Good morning! What do you wish to get?" A woman that looked in her early thirties asked him. She has racoon ears, black marks under her eyes and a long bushy tail which was moving from right to left slowly. She is a Tanuki, not that he knew. Seeing him tense up, she giggled and gave him a smile. "Relax honey, you are more stressed than I was when I got married."
Blinking at her a few times, he nodded to himself. Everything was going to be fine.
"Right, uh, I would like some Miso Soup please."
With a nod, the woman turned and yelled the order to the others situated behind her.
"Go to the end of the counter and pick up your order."
He nodded and told her a 'thank you', doing what she told him. At the end of the counter, he was handed his Miso Soup by yet another Youkai to whom he thanked and made his way back where he and Kunou were, where she waited for him patiently.
"There, see? This wasn't that bad was it?" She teased him lightly. "We are not that scary, are we?"
"Whatever." He mumbled, making Kunou giggle. She the turned towards the multitude of tables and tried to look for a spot for both of the to sit.
"Trying to find a place to sit Kunou-chan nya?" A melodious feminine voice made her ears twitch. She turned behind her to see a voluptuous, beautiful young woman with long black hair split in two bangs, hazel-gold eyes with cat-like pupils. She is dressed in a black kimono, a yellow obi , a set of golden beads and an ornate detailed headband. Her kimono was open at her shoulders, showing off some of her more than impressive cleavage.
Of course what caught Keith attention were the two cat ears on top of her head that twitched ever so slightly, along with the two cat tails. Wait a minute…two?!
'The hell?! Aren't cat girls supposed to have only one tail?' He felt a headache coming…again. 'Ah fuck it, there is no use in trying to decipher this world anymore.'
"Mm! But it seems we are out of luck." Kunou said, a small frown on her lips.
The unknown two-tailed cat girl giggled seeing the cute frown on the kitsune's face.
"I have found a free table for three in the back." She told them." You can join me."
She then started towards the said table, Kunou following her, along with a reluctant Keith.
Arriving at the table the three took a chair, Kunou and Keith on one side and the cat girl on the other side.
"Sooo." The cat girl began. "Who's the cutie nya?"
Before he could even start introducing himself however…
"He's name is Keith and is human!" Kunou said cheerfully, taking pleasure in Keith's irritated face. He could introduce himself at the very least damn it!
"Oh?" The cat girl turned her attention to the human. Of course she knew he is one ever since he arrived at the palace last night. "Nice meeting you Keith-kun nya!" She said. "I am Kuroka nya."
"A pleasure." He said and returned to his food.
Kuroka blinked at him. "Not much of a talker huh nya?" She then got a mischievous smile. "Or rather you are that captivated by my beauty that you cannot speak nya."
She didn't receive an answer which made her pout which in turn made Kunou giggle.
"I cannot but be curious about something though." He said. "How come you have two tails? I thought you were a…umm…nekomata I believe they are called."
"Ara, you are a curious one, aren't you nya." She said teasingly. "Perhaps if you tell me how pretty I am, I may tell you nya."
"Hm, very well then." He said. "You are one of the most prettiest women I have ever met." He told her without even blinking.
Kuroka widened her eyes slightly but then pouted.
"You do not mean it, do you nya?" She pointed a finger at him accusingly.
With an amusing smile, he shrugged. "Does it matter? You just told me to say how pretty you are." He reasoned. "I did." She was indeed very beautiful, but he decided that two could play games.
Kuroka couldn't believe it…She was outsmarted by a human! Nobody ever outsmarted her, beside Yasaka and sometimes Kunou, only because others were too embarrassed. Of course Keith being the new guy and all that, she decided to tame it down a bit, but the guy didn't even stutter! Seeing Kuroka being beaten at her own game, Kunou couldn't help but laugh.
Narrowing her hazel eyes at him, she retracted her finger.
"So you are a smart one huh nya."
"So I've been told."
With a sigh, she nodded.
"I am a woman of my word nya." She then continued. "I am to some extent a Nekomata, although a very rare variant called a Nekoshou. hence why I have two tails nya."
"Hn." He then rubbed his chin and looked at Kunou.
"If my theory is correct then, you must be some sort of variant as well, right?"
Kunou widened her eyes for a bit. She didn't give Keith enough credit. It was true, she is a kitsune, but more specifically a Kyuubi.
"Yes. I am a rare type of kitsune, a Kyuubi." She the flexed her nine tails. "That is why I have nine tails."
Before he could say anything, Kunou spoke again.
"How do you know that?" It was a simple question, not meant to be malicious or anything, she was just curious to hear him. Same could be said about Kuroka.
"Simple really." He showed them their phone. "In Japane mythology, or folklore, is said that a normal kitsune can become a Kyuubi if she lived for a very long time." He said. "For every century lived as well as if they underwent spiritual training."
"Yes, that is correct." Kunou nodded at the information he possessed.
"So the question is…how old are you really?" His answer was Kunou smacking him.
"Ouch!" He rubbed the back of his head. "The hell did you do that for?"
"Hmph!" She pouted and glared at him. "You never ask a woman her age."
Being hit by realisation, Keith broke one of the most important and old rules that have ever been set upon the Earth: never ask a woman about her age.
"Right…then…how young are you?"
Kuroka couldn't hold it anymore and began laughing.
"Nyahahaha!" She had to give him credit. He was way smarter than she believed a human to be.
Easing her glare, Kunou responded.
"I am around 21 years old." Which was very young for a supernatural being. He then turned his eyes to Kuroka.
"What nya?" She asked as she crossed her hands under her chest, making it giggle and look even bigger than it already was.
"What about you?" She stood her ground, narrowing her eyes at him, but Keith didn't flinch. Seeing as he won't back down, she sighed.
"I am 22 nya."
He nodded.
"I am 21." He felt it fair to tell his age as well.
Kunou looked at the clock and saw it was almost the time to meet her mother.
"It's time to go guys." She already knew Kuroka was going to join them.
Keith simply grunted in approval. grabbed his tray with the now empty bowl of Miso Soup and put it into a container. He then followed after the two busty Youkai.
The way to Yasaka's meeting room was uneventful, the two young women chatting with one another while Keith mostly remained silent, giving them answers if they asked him something, which in returned made Kunou pout at him and Kuroka laugh at her.
Opening the doors, the three found Yasaka at her desk at the end of a large table, at which could sit a multitude of people.
Yasaka, seeing them, smiled warmly at the three.
"Hello Kunou-chan, Kuroka-chan." Her attention then turned to Keith. "And you must be Keith Nakamura."
Seeing as the attention was now on him, he stopped and bowed respectfully.
"That I am miss."
'Is this Kunou's sister or something? Also how come all the women I met so far have such big…personalities?!' He thought. There's no way she is her moth-
"Hey mom." Kunou cheerfully greeted her mother which made Keith almost choke out.
"Sh-She's your mom?!" He uncharacteristically yelled. "I thought she's your sister!"
"Ara ara ufufu, thank you for the compliment dear." She smiled and cupped one of her cheeks as they turned a bit pink. "Anyway, my name is Yasaka, Leader of the West Youkai here in Kyoto, as well as a Kyuubi." She offered him a delicate hand which he accepted.
"Nice to meet you, my name is Keith Nakamura, but you already know that." He laughed awkwardly, knowing how stupid he sounded right now, making the three women giggle.
After they exchanged some other words, the atmosphere turned more serious, which surprised Keith for a moment.
"I want to start by saying that I am pleased to see that you are unharmed as of the last night's…events." Her nose scrunched in disgust when she thought about the Stray. She didn't hate Devils by any means, but nor did she like them, she tolerate them to some extent, but when it came to Strays…they were nothing but filth.
"Uh, thank you." He said. They all remained standing.
"Then, I believe it is wise to find out what your Sacred Gear is." Yasaka told him.
"Right…and how do I do that?" He would life if he were to say that he wasn't in any way curious. He still hoped it won't be a big shot.
"Close your eyes and search down deep in your soul." Yasaka instructed. "Then think of something powerful."
"That's it?" He asked.
'That's rather…bland.' He sweatdropped.
Yasaka just nodded. All three of them took a few steps back and let Keith concentrate.
Closing his eyes and take a deep breath, he did as Yasaka told him. He searched and searched and searched, until…he found it…a pale bluish light, warm and gentle which made him feel at ease and calm. He 'grabbed' it and in an instant, returning back to reality, he reached out his right hand to the side and a powerful bluish light engulfed the room, making the three women shield their eyes.
Once the light died down, all three of them gasped and widened their eyes at the object he was holding in his right hand.
Opening his eyes, Keith cursed under his breath when he noticed their reactions.
'Ah fuck it! It is a big shot!'. He whined.
He darted his eyes at the cold metal he was feeling in his hand and widened his eyes when he saw it: a long ornate spear with a dark blue rod. It features golden metal decorations, in the shapes of arrow tips, that spiral around in a double helix pattern. The decorations come to an end at the top of the spear's pole, where there is a cross that partially fills a white circle that is entirely empty. Four protrusions, two on the left and the other two on the right, are present on a little, silver stump. Similar to how the spear's rod is longer than those of other spear types, the spear's silver tip is also longer.
"Woah." He was mesmerized by the beauty of the spear, feeling as if it was his. It was a weird feeling he couldn't describe, it just felt right. Looking back the other three in the room, he let out an amused chuckle upon seeing their reactions.
This seemed to break off their "trance" as Yasaka coughed in her palm.
"So…what is this thing?" The curiosity was getting the better of him.
"That, Keith, is the most powerful Sacred Gear to ever be created." Yasaka reposnded. "The True Longinus or the Holy Spear of the Setting Sun as others call it, is one of the Holy Relics."
Keith didn't know what to honestly think about all of this…him? The owned of the most powerful Sacred Gear? Was this some kind of joke? He looked at the spear.
'Nope, not a joke.' He sighed. While he was excited to some extent, he couldn't feel a deep hole in his stomach. Then it dawned on him.
"Wait…Longinus? As in the guy who supposedly stabbed Jesus Christ?"
Yasaka nodded, then she looked curiously at him.
"I am surprised you know that."
"What can I say, I read things sometimes." He shrugged. "Um. how do I make it disappear?"
Kunou giggled at his behaviour. She was pleased to see that all this didn't give him an ego…yet at least.
"For that, just concentrate and will it to dematerialize."Kunou responded. He did just that and the spear was gone.
Kuroka breathed out in relief. She could feel the tingling from the Holy spear and it wasn't very pleasant. Yakasa and Kunou as well seemed to relax slightly.
"Now…I believe this might be a problem." Yasaka announced, gaining the other three's attention, Keith especially. She looked at him. "What do you wish to do?"
He closed his eyes as he thought.
"If I leave this place, then it means I will be on my own…without protection and since I know nothing about the supernatural world…I won't stand a chance…correct?"
Yasaka nodded, her facial features becoming gentler.
"However, I feel like I could choose to remain here, right?" Yasaka nodded once again. "At what price?"
He wasn't dumb…he knew that in order to receive something…you must give something in return.
"How would you like to join the Youkai Faction?" She asked with a smile. "We would help you train and offer you protection, while we get a powerful ally."
He rubbed his chin in thought…then narrowed his eyes at her.
"So, would I be only a tool?"
Kunou and Kuroka chose to remain silent, letting Yasaka talk with Keith.
"Heavens no." She almost shouted, almost. "We Youkai see humans as friends, however it is true that is quite rare to have someone with a Sacred Gear here." She admitted, then narrowed her eyes, her features becoming stern. "But that does not mean that you will be a tool if you join us." She looked at his eyes. She could see many emotions in them: fear, uncertainty and confusion were some of them. "You will be an ally, a friend, someone we shall cherish."
She ended, giving him a big, warm smile.
For his part, Keith remained passive, analysing her intently, trying to find any lie, yet there were none.
'It is either I accept her offer or fend off for myself, which won't be for long.' He thought. He had to put his trust in them.
'Ah fuck it! I will go with the tide and see what happens.'
He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He nodded to her and gave her a small smile.
"Very well, Yasaka-san, I will join your faction." He offered her a hand which she gladly took. He then felt two arms pull him in a hug. He could feel two soft mounds squish against his chest.
'Pure thoughts, pure thoughts!' He mentally screamed.
"I am pleased that you chose to remain here Keith-kun." Kunou spoke, her voice above a whisper. He awkwardly hugged her back.
"Let the guy go Kunou…or he might die from physical contact." Kuroka teased. Kunou for her part, pouted and looked at Keith who had a nervous smile on his face. She let him go and threw a smile on her face once again.
"Ahem." Yasaka brought the attention on her. "Seeing as now you are part of our Faction Keith, I hope you understand that you will have to win a name for yourself in this world."
He just sighed at what she said. Great, more pain in the ass! All he wanted was to have a lazy life, well…as lazy as someone who worked enough to pay the bills and all that could have.
"Of course."
"And for that to happen, you will have to train ~" She playfully said, well somewhat. "Otherwise, you will never be able to get any stronger."
He wanted to run, to jump out of the window and never look back. Would he die if he jumped?
Sucking in all the swears he wanted to use on the Universe, he slumped his shoulders and nodded.
"Yes, I am aware."
"Good!" Her response was too fast in his opinion. "We will start from tomorrow."
"Huh?! So fast?" He almost believed her misheard.
"Mhm! Tomorrow in the morning I will send Kunou-chan to bring you here where I will choose someone who will help."
"Very well Yasaka-san."
"Ah, ah!" She wiggled her finger in front of him. "When it's just us, you may refer to me as 'Yasaka'."
"But-"
She narrowed her eyes at him and he could swear her pupils dilated, becoming more feral.
"Right, ok Yasaka."
"Good!" She then returned to her desk, a pleasant smile adorning her face. "You three may leave now and continue your day." With a smile, she shooed them away.
After that the day was pretty much uneventful, the three either conversing among one another, well Kunou and Kuroka mostly and Keith getting more familiarized with the palace, as well as with the exterior.
As time passed, night came and once again he was in his bed, dreading the day of tomorrow.
'This is such a pain in the ass!'
Were his last thoughts before sleep took him away.
A/N: Hello again people! Exiled here with yet another chapter. Yeah…not many things to say this time, so let's respond to some reviews!
lucinziel: Gotcha brother! I am pleased to see someone who likes kitsune as I do! About the characters you just mentioned. I don't know much about Genshin I am afraid so I don't think I will include any characters in my fanfictions (someday maybe). Tiamat? Sure thing, I was thinking about her ever since I started writing this fanfic so I can definitely see her as a possible mamacita! Naruto/One Piece…don't know much about them (don't cut my head off please). I used to watch Naruto when I was a kid, but ever since that I didn't touch it. Never saw One Piece so yeah…that's that…Yoruichi? I have seen her in many fanfics and I can say she definitely is an interesting one (though I would like to mention that I didn't see Bleach)! Although I already chose to stick to characters from DXD for this fanfiction. It makes it a bit easier for me, but in the future I will definitely add her.
Nehef: Thank you mate! I am pleased to see you enjoyed it! Also don't worry, I intend to keep writing for as long as the time allows me to!
sanjiv121606: Honestly, I almost wanted to just not introduce him at all, but I believe people won't be too pleased about it, since after all, he is a force to be reckoned with. So don't worry! He and Keith will clash spears soon enough. Also I have already thought about what "Sacred Gear" he will have, possibly some of you may already have the answer *wink wink*.
ArguableReader: I understand what you mean. I honestly don't really care if she is the main girl or whatever, but I have to admit that it can be sometimes boring and annoying to read only about her when other characters can be just as good. Also about the second part of what you said…I don't really understand much of it…it may be because I am sometimes dumb lol, but what do you exactly mean? I always thought that by only bringing let's say some characters from other fandoms, it is not considered a crossover or whatever. If you could be so kind as to 'dumb' it down for me a bit xd
Fun fact: I honestly didn't know Kuroka was in Issei's harem (I found out from ). I didn't read the light novel, nor the manga so yeah…I only have seen the anime. Also didn't know that Youkai were weak against Light lol.
Now… about LEMONS (which I forgot to mention about in the first chapter): I honestly do not think I am a good writer, so I don't really think if I will ever write lemons…sure there might be suggestive…stuff but I am not going to get into details. However if I find the courage and inspiration to write lemons (which won't happen for a while) I will let you know.
I apologise if there are any grammatical mistakes! Also I am not that good at descriptions so I used the fandom as help :P
Thank you all for reviewing, favouring and following, ya know all that good stuff.
Stay safe & sound!
