Chapter 12: Nordic Trouble

Kyoto, Japan

What are we doing here again, nya?" Kuroka asked as she looked around the forest. A few days have passed since Keith comforted her and now she was back to normal.

"Didn't you pay any attention to what mom said?" Kunou looked at her.

"I may have missed some points, nya."

The kitsune sighed.

"She told us that the Youkais who live around here have seen some weird creatures in this forest."

The forest they were currently in wasn't that far away from Kyoto and the Youkais who are close to it often come here to hunt or camp.

Keith quickly summoned the True Longinus to deflect a ball of ice coming his way.

Out of the bushes, from the direction the ice came from, five blueish white humanoids wearing cloth around their waist and pants made their appearance. Each was holding a sword in hand.

"What the…" Kuroka looked at them in wonder, feeling no emotion other than rage from them. They almost felt…hollow, like empty shells.

"Why are you here?" Kunou asked, narrowing her eyes at the weird creatures. The undead didn't say anything in return. "Were you ordered by someone?" Again, silence. Before she could say anything else, a sixth one jumped from a tree to attack her.

Keith quickly willed the Holy Spear to extend, impaling him through his chest. The body fell to the ground and disappeared in ashes.

In that instant, the other humanoids creatures let out growls and began to attack.

The young man swung his spear, the tip glowing with light, and instantly decapitated one enemy, then blocked the attack of another one. He jumped backwards, prompting the attacker to follow him, slashing his sword savagely while letting out animalistic grunts.

Keith poured more of his magic in the spear, then swung it, shooting out a wave of holy energy which slashed him in two. He mentally thanked Hokori for teaching him that.

"I see you already put what you've learned into practice, Kei-kun." Kunou said as she approached him. They weren't such a big threat as she believed they would.

Before he could respond, he went stiff when he felt softness on his back.

"I wonder how talented you are with the other spear you have, nya." Kuroka hugged him from the back, pushing her very endowed chest against his back. "Care to let me polish it for you, nya?" She whispered in his ear sensually, making him blush. Before she could snake her hands in his pants, however…

"Kuroka-chan!" Kunou got between the two, making Kuroka pout slightly, and Keith to regain his composure. She then latched herself on his arm, drowning it between her own gifted chest.

Ever since he talked to her, Kuroka didn't only return to normal…but she also became more clingy and started to tease him more than she used to, by either hugging him whenever she got the chance or to 'accidentally' show off skin.

"What? I was just kidding, nya." She shrugged. "Unless, you want to have a crazy night with me, nya." She winked and grabbed Keith's other arm, sandwiching it between her breasts.

Kunou's eyebrow twitched.

"Let's return to the palace."

The three then disappeared in a magic circle, the two women glaring at one another as they hugged their respective arm tightly, making heat rise to Keith's cheeks.

When the three returned to the palace, Yasaka was waiting for them together with a woman who looked to be in her early thirties, dressed in a dark blue kimono. She had long white hair whose ends were black caught in a bun, blue eyes and two cat ears. The most striking feature she had were the seven cat tails which were moving ever so slightly. Kunou and Kuroka's eyes immediately lit up in recognition of the woman.

"Good to see you unharmed." Yasaka breathed out in relief.

"Why wouldn't we be, nya?" Kuroka said. She and Kunou looked at the Nekomata for a brief moment, then returned their attention to Yasaka.

"The creatures we fought weren't that tough." Kunou said.

"What were they anyway?" Keith inquired curiously.

"Yeah, I couldn't feel anything other than untamed rage from them, nya." Kuroka added.

Yasaka and the mysterious woman exchanged looks for a moment.

"Greetings." The white haired Nekomata spoke. "Good to see you again, Kunou, Kuroka."

"Likewise Magari-san." Kunou smiled.

"Rare for you to visit unannounced, Magari-sensei, nya." Kuroka noted, but quickly regretted it as the woman grabbed her cheeks and began to pull.

"Is this the way to greet your teacher, brat?" Magari chagrined.

"I am sowwy, nya!" Kuroka flailed her arms. "Leth goh phlease, nya!"

"Hmph." She let go and let a soft smile appear on her face. She then looked at Keith.

"So this is the one, eh Yasaka?"

"Mhm! This is my cute human!" She exclaimed and hugged Keith's arm.

"H-Huh?!" The young man spluttered when his arm was enveloped between breasts the third time this day. Kunou pouted and Kuroka's eye twitched when she saw Yasaka's monster boobs squish against Keith's arm. She was sure hers were bigger! Perhaps?…

"Right…" The white haired cat Youkai trailed off. "A pleasure to meet the current wielder of the True Longinus. My name is Magari, a Youkai from the East Faction, as well as the leader of the Nekomatas." She bowed.

"Oh! Ah…My name is Keith Nakamura. The pleasure is mine." He bowed back, mentally sighing in relief that Yasaka let go of his arm.

'How could they be so soft?!' He thought, then fought back his blush. Yasaka was always wearing her kimono a little bit more loose around her chest area so Keith felt the softness ten times greater than if her chest was covered.

"Now." Magari began. "The creatures you fought." Keith, Kuroka and Kunou were paying close attention. "They are called Hel-Walkers."

"Hel-Walkers, nya?" Kuroka scrunched her face in confusion.

"Yes. Undead native from Helheim, the realm of the dead in the Norse mythology." Magari informed.

"Wait, what?" Keith widened his eyes. "Then what were they doing here?"

"That I do not know." The white haired woman shook her head. "They attacked the East Faction a few days ago. We didn't think it was anything dangerous until the attacks became fiercer and more often."

"Did the Norse Pantheon say anything about this?" Kunou asked.

Before Magari could respond, yells were heard from outside. Yasaka ran to the window and saw that the Hel-Walkers were attacking the palace. She noticed that they were quite large in number.

"We need to take care of them." The older Kyuubi said.

"Whatever you do, do not use ice against them. It is useless." Magari informed. Everyone nodded.

"I will go and help the people in the back, nya." Kuroka spoke as the teleported away.

"Me and Kei-kun will take care of those in the main area." Kunou added as she grabbed his hand and disappeared via a magic circle.

"We should do something as well." The cat woman looked at Yasaka.

"You read my mind."

"Why are they so many?" Keith asked as he drove his spear though a Hel-Walker. He and Kunou began to fight the incoming horde of undead as soon as they teleported there.

"I don't know!" Kunou answered. She ducked to avoid a sword slash, then blasted the attacker with fire, killing him instantly.

Keith poured some magic into the Holy Lance and spears of light manifested themselves. They sprung into battle, slashing and impaling the undead left and right, yet for some reason, the horde wasn't shrinking.

"It's like there's no end of them." The young man stated. He blocked a sword bash with his spear, pushed the attacker backwards and thrusted forward, making him fall on the ground and disappear in ashes.

"There!" Kunou pointed towards a big black hole. The hole was currently behind a dozen or so Walkers, more coming out of it as they spoke. "We need to close that hole!"

"I got you." Keith channelled magic into the spear, making the bladed tip glow brightly. He then swung it a few times, each time a wave of holy energy shooting and wiping out Walkers.

"Thanks Kei-kun." Kunou said as she was running and dodging through the remaining Walkers. When she made it to the whole, she opened up her palms and tried to seal off the tear.

"Kei-kun, we may have a problem!" She exclaimed worriedly when nothing happened.

"Why?" He asked as he decapitated a Hel-Walkers, then dodged, avoiding a sword which would have cut his head off.

"I cannot close it!" She did a back handspring when a Walker came out of the tear, hitting him with her feet and launching him backwards.. She then engulfed her hand in fire and shot out a ball, quickly burning the undead warrior to a crisp.

"Ah shit!" Keith shouted when he found himself surrounded by undead who were hissing and growling at him.

"Kei-kun!" Kunou tried to rush to him but couldn't due to the Walkers which were blocking her path. "Out of the way!" She brought her hands one near the other and a beam of fire rushed out of them, burning and destroying everything in its path. When she made a step forward, a newly arrived Walker jumped on her back, clasping his arms around her neck.

"Get off me!" She grabbed him by the head and tossed him on the ground, slamming her foot on his head. When she wanted to move again, her path was once more blocked by Walkers. "Let me pass!" She growled and bared her fangs as her eyes became slits and her nails lengthened. She dashed forward with unimaginable speed, cutting of their heads in an instant.

On his part, Keith was parrying and dodging attacks coming from every way. Thanks to his training, he could see the attacks much faster and easier.

Seeing the Walkers advancing, he stabbed the spear into the ground with force, creating a shockwave of holy energy, not powerful enough to kill them, but to push them backwards. He didn't notice a Walker coming behind him who managed to slash his calf, making him grunt in pain and fall to a knee.

Before Kunou could reach him, multiple beams of magic came out of the sky and killed all the remaining Walkers. Up in the air was floating a beautiful silver haired woman with blue eyes dressed in a set of Valkyrie armour made out of a white breastplate, fingerless gauntlets, hip guards and wing-shaped hair clips.

The fox immediately made her way to Keith and began to heal the cut.

"Thank the nine realms that I am on time." She sighed in relief. She then landed on the ground and began to walk towards the two, the heels from her boots making a clacking sound.

"Are you two alright?" She asked.

"We are fine." Keith thanked Kunou for the healing. "Thanks for lending us a hand."

"Of course! I couldn't call myself a Valkyrie otherwise!" She puffed her chest in pride.

"So that means the Norse Pantheon sent you." Kunou stated.

"Yes. My name is Rossweisse, a Valkyrie in the service of Odin-sama and Asgard." She gave them a smile, then returned to her serious look when she spotted the tear. "It seems Garm has already opened up multiple realm tears." She quickly made her way to the black hole and began to chant in a language which Keith and Kunou didn't understand. The latter was surprised to see that the black hole was closing.

"How come when I wanted to seal it, nothing happened?" Kunou frowned.

"The only way to seal them is by using Vanir magic, or Norse magic if you want." The beautiful Valkyrie informed.

"I see." The young kitsune nodded. "We should check up on Kuroka-chan."

"Yeah." Keith then looked at the silver haired beauty. "You want to come with us or?"

"Yes. Odin-sama told me to talk with the leader of the West Youkai Faction."

"Very well then, let's go." Kunou said as the three teleported away.

When Keith and the two women returned, they saw Kuroka and Yasaka waiting for them.

"You aren't hurt, are you?" Yasaka came over to them and inspected them of any injury.

"We are fine mom." Kunou smiled.

"Yeah." Keith nodded.

The older Kyuubi sighed in relief, then looked at the newcomer.

"And who might you be?"

"My name is Rossweisse, a Valkyrie." She bowed her head. "You must be Yasaka-sama."

"Indeed I am." The fox nodded. "May I know what is this all about?"

Rossweisse tightened her hands into fists.

"Loki happened."

"The God of Mischief?" Yasaka raised a brow. "What could he possibly do for all of this to happen?"

"He freed Garm."

"Garm, nya?" Kuroka asked.

"Garm is similar to the Cerberus in the Greek mythos, being some sort of guardian of Helheim."

"Why would he free him?" Keith inquired, disturbed by the news.

"Because that's what Loki does and because he wishes for Ragnarök to happen." Rossweisse said.

"What?" Kunou widened her eyes. "Why?"

"He believes that Gods should rule the world and that Odin-sama became weak." The Valkyrie tried to remain calm, then she looked at Keith. "That is why we need your help, Holy Emperor."

"Huh?" Keith wasn't expecting that. "My help?"

"Yes." She said, almost desperately. "With Garm free in Helheim, he will keep on creating realm tears and devour entire metaphysical concepts."

"I apologize, but I do not think Keith-kun can help you with this." Yasaka rebutted. Sending Keith to his own death was something she won't ever do.

"But-"

"Enough Rose." A new voice butted in.

All heads turned towards it and saw a gorgeous woman with snow-white hair and greenish blue eyes dressed in an attire similar to Rossweisse's, but hers was more elegant, with gold on her breastplates and light blue around her legs and arms. She too had winged hairclips, but more nuanced and gold in colour.

"Freya-sama!" The Valkyrie immediately was on a knee, with her arm underneath her chest in a salute.

"Greetings people of Japan." The Goddess of Love greeted with a radiant smile.

"What are you doing here, Freya-sama?" Rossweisse inquired. "I thought you were chasing after Loki."

"I was, but he managed to escape." She clicked her tongue.

"What is your business here, Goddess of the Norse?" Yasaka asked, narrowing her eyes.

"Relax, I am not here to stir up problems." She held her hands up.

"Then?"

She sighed.

"As you already know, Loki freed Garm who is currently loose and wandering aimlessly through Helheim."

"If he isn't stopped, then more and more realm tears will spawn and the world will be flooded with Hel-Walkers." She continued.

"And?" Yasaka didn't like where this was going.

The Goddess looked at Keith straight in the eyes.

"Keith Nakamura, Odin requests your presence in Asgard."

A/N: Yooo people, Exiled here with a new chapter! I hope you enjoyed this one! I couldn't wait to get here. Initially I wanted to introduce Tiamat instead of Roseweisse but oh well, I believe this is better, I hope. I was thinking of giving the Valkyries wings like in God of War, but went against it in this story. Don't worry, the idea will be put in practice in future stories. I believe that missions from God of War fit well in the DxD universe, so I thought about adding this one! Of course, I will try to make it as interesting as possible.

Now, let's check the reviews!

Trueopulence: The Angels managed to created their reincarnation pieces without help. I was thinking of making Xenovia and Irina angels, but dunno about Asia yet. I will have to think about that, since I wouldn't know how to make her meet Issei.

Nehef: Lmao, had a good chuckle reading that xD. I will try to write her as cannon as possible. I won't write her as the bad guy or anything like that since I don't wish to bash characters.

Guest: Any ideas what ability/abilities should I add from the draupnir spear? I was thinking about "Artillery of the Ancient" since I like it quite a bit. And I am happy you enjoy the story so far! Also what do you mean by self-reflection chapter?

Thank you all for reading! It brings me immense joy when people tell me that they like what I "blabber" here lmao. I don't mind criticism either! Let me know what I can do to improve.

Also, I will try and do my best to keep the chapters coming, but I am not too sure how much will I be able to write because my exams are coming up and in July I will have to present my BA Thesis (oof, scary).

Yeah…so this is it I guess. Once again, thank you all for reading, favouring, following and reviewing! I cannot fathom how many of you like this story, and for that I am thankful.

I apologize for any grammatical or spelling mistakes!

Stay safe & sound!
