Chapter Eight

Vic started another episode of the show and soon felt Andy's weight on her. She looked down and saw that her girlfriend's eyes were closed. "Michelle." Michelle looked at Vic and Vic motioned down to Andy. "I"m going to take her to bed. You're more than welcome to spend the night in our guestroom if you want?" Michelle nodded and thanked Vic before walking out of the room.

Vic gently lifted Andy up and off the couch, trying not to wake Andy up but failing. Once they got to Andy's room they got changed and got under the covers, snuggling into each other before falling asleep.

The next morning Vic wakes up to a weight on top of her, confused for a couple seconds until she opens her eyes to see that it's Andy on top of her. Vic smiles down at her girlfriend and squirms. Even though Andy was small in size and light in weight, Vic tried to move.

"Hey, Ands." Vic whispers. "Can you move off of me please?" Vic waits a moment and as she was about to ask Andy to move around she felt Andy move off of her and groaned.

"What time is it?" Andy asked with her eyes still closed, head resting on Vic's chest, arm wrapped around her stomach.

Vic looks over to her side table and sees that the clock shows 8:44am. "Close to 9am, babe."

Andy nods. "We should get up." Andy told her and got up off the bed and went into the bathroom. Confusing Vic since the last couple weeks their routine had included a morning kiss and then they got up and out of bed. Vic got out of the bed and went to the bathroom where she saw Andy at the sink, brushing her teeth. Andy turned around, startled by Vic barging into the bathroom.

"Vic!" Andy exclaimed.

"Sorry. I'm sorry." Vic laughed. "I didn't mean to scare you."

Andy glared at her and walked past her and out of the bathroom. Vic, still confused, follows her out of the bathroom while trying to figure out what was going on before the events from last night came flooding back. She saw Andy getting changed and walked up to her and put her arms around her shirtless stomach. She felt Andy lean into her and then after a minute turn to face Vic with watery eyes. Vic pulled Andy into a hug, trying to give Andy the comfort she needs right now.

"I love you, Vic." Andy said, voice cracking.

Vic held her tighter. "I love you too, Andy. So much."

Once they pulled back from each other Andy leaned in and gave Vic a soft kiss on the lips and then pulled back.

"Did Michelle stay over last night?" Andy asked her girlfriend, last night still kind of foggy after all the yelling her Tia did.

"She did. I'm sure she's also awake." Vic told her, letting go of Andy and moving over to the dresser to grab a pair of Andy's sweats and a t-shirt. Vic turned back around and saw a now dressed Andy smiling at her. "What?"

"Nothing. You just look good in my clothes." Andy continued to grin and wrapped her arms around Vic's waist and pulled her into a kiss. Andy was about to stick her hands under Vic's shirt when Vic pulled away. Andy pouted. "I was enjoying that, Mi amor.'

Vic laughs. "We have to go and see if Michelle is awake, babe." Andy continues to pout as they walk out of the room. Vic hears Andy whisper "BuzzKill" under her breath and Vic giggles.

Andy glares at her girlfriend and walks out of the room. When the pair gets in view of the kitchen they see Michelle at the island, eating some cereal.

"Good morning, Michelle." Andy said, walking into the kitchen and starting a pot of coffee.

"What's got you in such a good mood?" Michelle asked.

"Me." Vic gloats.

Michelle and Andy both chuckle.

"I mean, that is true." Andy told her, laughing.

"I'm glad you're able to smile after last night, Andy." Michelle told Andy, smiling as she pulled her into a hug. Andy wrapped her arms around her tightly.

"I'm not going to let what happened last night be brought into today." Andy told them firmly. "I'm finally feeling more happy than I have in ages and I'm not going to let Tia ruin my joy."

Vic and Michelle look at each other, smiling.

"I'm glad to hear that, Andy." Michelle said. "I know it was a shock seeing us and I'm sorry we interrupted what seemed like a very heavy make-out session." Michelle laughed.

"Yeah. About that. What were you two doing here anyways?" Andy asked.

"Um. Andy-" Michelle hesitated.

"What is it Michelle?" Andy asked, nervously.

"We came over because we wanted to talk to you about station 19." Michelle started. "We know that you just became captain and we wanted to talk to you about a fundraiser we wanted to hold."

"What kind of fundraiser?" Vic asked, moving to get a cup of coffee.

"I know the station has done a spaghetti dinner before but I was thinking about a BBQ?"

Andy smiles. "Only thing about that is how much we end up spending on the food."

"I'd get all the food." Michelle told them. "We have some money left from a previous event."

"What charity is it for?" Vic asked.

"It's for Cancer research." Andy teared up. "Yeah, we thought you might have that reaction." Michelle told Andy, noting the tears. "We came over with a list of cancer related charities and we thought that you should decide."

"I love that you guys thought of this." Andy said, trying to keep it together. Thoughts of her dad coming to mind.

"But?"

"No, but. I'm just so surprised." Andy wiped at her eyes. "So you'd handle food?" Michelle nodded. "I'm sure we can find a few BBQ's." Andy looked at Vic and she nodded.

"The firehouse has the BBQ upstairs and then I think we can bring a couple of our own here too" Vic told them. "If need be." She quickly added.

"My parents have also offered to bring theirs but we'll figure out the food first." Michelle told them.

"How about we talk about this when we're on shift? " Andy suggested. "You can talk to the group as well. Get their opinions on this since it would be held here." Michelle nods. "Sounds good. I have to get back home but it was so nice to see you, Andy."

"Despite last night, it was good to see you too." Andy told her, moving to hug her. "Call me tomorrow and I'll let you know when it;'s a good time to come over." Michelle nods, says bye to Vic and then leaves the apartment.

Andy turns to Vic and smiles. Vic pulls Andy into a hug, knowing that it's still hard for Andy to think about her dad. They stay in the hug for five minutes when they hear a knock on the door. Andy looks at Vic, confused. "I wasn't expecting company so I have no clue who it is." Andy told Vic.

Andy goes to the door and opens it, surprised by her guests. "What are you two doing here?"

I wonder who her guests are ?
