Hermione read the letter again, before she burst out laughing. Severus looked up from his cauldron. He and Hermione were currently sitting in his lab waiting for a potion to settle before moving to the next step.

"What do you find so funny, Witch?" he asked, putting down his notes. Hermione was laughing so hard it took her a moment to answer.

"Ron's latest letter, well, Harry's actually. They were on assignment in America and Ron managed to offense some really powerful warlock. Apparently he got turned into a frog," Hermione laughed, waving the sheet of parchment in the air. Severus could see Potter's scribbled handwriting.

"Did Potter manage to reverse it?" Severus asked, interested in spite of himself.

Hermione shook her head.

"That's the best part, only being kissed by someone who loves him can reverse the curse," she replied between peals of laughter.

"He'll be stuck as a frog forever then. Does Potter think you'll break the curse then?" he asked, his eyebrows raised in confusion.

"Ron does, he's still hung up on that one stupid kiss," Hermione answered, rolling her brown eyes.

"And when will they be arriving here?" he asked, knowing exactly where this was going. The idea of watching his wife kiss a frog hoping to turn back into the youngest Weasley male turned his stomach slightly.

"Two days time," Hermione answered, still trying not to burst out laughing again.

"Should I write them and tell them to leave you alone, that coming here is a waste of time and they are both dunderheads for thinking otherwise?" Severus asked, wondering what would happen if he did so.

"Ron won't listen, we both know that, Severus. He hasn't listened the last five years, why would he start now?" Hermione asked, tossing the letter on the table and walking over to Severus' work table. She sat on the edge, her legs swinging over the side. Severus pretended he wasn't looking at them.

"Are you going to kiss him?" he finally asked, hoping she would say 'no'. Was kissing a man who was cursed to be a frog cheating? He really didn't want her to do it.

"I shouldn't, I mean, what married witch goes around kissing frogs so they turn back into men?" she asked, before bursting out laughing again.

"You make a good point, Hermione. You are married, to me," he commented, checking the status of the potion sitting in the pewter cauldron.

"Don't tell me you're jealous, Severus. I mean, we both know nothing's going to come of it. Maybe this will settle things once and for all, show him I don't love him?" she suggested. "I know you don't like the idea of me kissing him, Severus, but if it puts this whole mess to bed once and for all..."

"You still have two days to decide, Hermione. I'll back whatever you decide to do," Severus muttered, adding the last ingredients to the potion they had been working on.

"And that is one of the many reasons I love you, Severus," Hermione stated, leaning back and giving Severus a quick kiss.

"I love you too, Hermione."

Two Days Later

Hermione had only just set the kettle on when someone knocked on the door.

"They're here," Severus commented. Hermione nodded.

"I guess I should let them in, then?" she asked, almost as if dreading seeing her friends again.

"You might as well, my love. They'll just keep knocking."

Hermione sighed and walked over opening the door. Harry walked inside carrying a small cage.

"That's Ron?" she asked, peering into the plastic cage. There was a large green frog sitting in the middle of it. The frog stared back at her and then flicked its tongue out.

"Yes, that's Ron. He's convinced you can change him back, Hermione. I told him you didn't feel that way, but he won't listen."

"I figured as much. Let's get this over with?" she suggested. Harry nodded opening the cage. The frog jumped out, nearly latching himself onto Hermione's face. She caught him and glared at him.

"Really Ron? Fine, one kiss. If you turn back then that's that, if you remain a frog, then you will leave me and Severus alone, got it?" she asked, her voice firm. The frog made a croaking sound which Hermione took as him agreeing. She brought him to her lips, Severus watched with a scowl on his face. Hermione's lips touched Ron's as she kissed him. After she kissed him, she quickly set him down on an empty chair and they all waited, and waited, and waited. After ten minutes and one cup of tea, Hermione had had enough.

"It didn't work. I don't love you, go kiss Pansy, or Lavender, or maybe familial love will work?" Hermione suggested, "You could see if your mum will kiss you back?"

Severus bit back a laugh at the thought of Weasley begging his mum to kiss him to make him a man again. Harry nodded, slipping Ron back into his plastic cage and leaving the Snapes' house.

"I'll be right back, Severus," Hermione said, making a disgusted face, "I need to wipe the taste of frog off my mouth," she stated, darting off to the loo. Severus shook his head. Maybe this would finally convince Weasley that Hermione didn't love him. Somehow, he doubted it though.
