Hermione could still feel him wrapping his arms around her, pulling her into the dark water. The cold water soaking her clothing, sending chills down her body. Her bare feet touching the long flowing weeds that covered the bottom of the lake. He was holding her, touching her gently in the darkness of the water. She knew what he was, what he truly was. He'd never told her but she'd put all the pieces together on her own.

Now these nights with him in the waters outside the building only helped confirmed her suspicions. Severus was an animagus and he took the form of a black speckled giant squid. Hermione wondered how he'd learned to do such a thing, only transform half his body.

She could feel the tentacles around her legs, their tips reaching up and touching her in more intimate places. He kept his human face, his lips on hers taking the air from her lungs. His hair remained and she grasped the damp black locks with her fingers, pulling slightly as her body arched in pleasure. She came in his arms, going limp in the water from the pleasure.

"I love you," she whispered, raising her head slightly. She felt Severus' lips on hers, his body changing next to hers until he was human again.

"I love you too, my Hermione," he replied, kissing her again. She looked over at him, his hair and body glistening in the moonlight. Tiny waves lapped around the pair.

"Until tomorrow?" she asked, starting to swim towards shore. He nodded, helping her out of the water. They stood there a moment, letting the cool night air dry them. She quickly cast a warming spell over them and started back towards the castle, a smile playing on her lips. No one knew the truth about Severus, about their relationship, and if she had her way, they never would. Some things were meant to remain hidden.
