Severus glared at the sky. After months, which had seemed like forever at the same time, the clouds and torrential rain had finally decided to depart. He'd heard it was possible that the storms would end this afternoon, he'd not put much stock in the prediction though.

"Looks like the sun's breaking through," Hermione commented, her attention waning from the stack of parchment she'd been dealing with. She was trying to get as much graded before her next class as possible. "The students will be happy about that."

"It does appear so, unfortunately, " Severus grumbled.

"It's not all bad, the plants need sunlight if they're ever going to grow enough for harvest. We both know the fake magic sunlight is no substitute for the real thing."

"True," Severus grumbled, not wanting to admit Hermione was right. "Leave it to you to look on the bright side of things."

"Just stating a fact. I know you prefer the gloom and doom of the dark grey clouds, how they make your appearance so much more dramatic, but if you give me a hand with grading these essays, we might have enough time to see if there's any mushrooms growing at the edge of the Forbidden Forest before our next classes. All the rain, plus the heat..." Hermione offered. Severus gave her a slow smile.

"You make an excellent point, here, give me half of those and a red marking quill. I have a feeling I'm going to need it."

Hermione laughed.

"Just because your students don't know a root from their own arse, doesn't mean mine aren't brilliant," she teased, handing him the quill and half of the stack of parchments.

"We'll just have to see about that," he replied, starting to read the essays and pretending he didn't notice the bright rays of the sun starting to shine through the glasspaned window.
