Chapter 6: The Savior of the Heavenly Fowl
Later that day, Naofumi and his party were on their way towards somewhere in the carriage, pulled by Filo. While waiting to arrive at the destination, a village called Lerno Village, Naofumi was observing one of the many bottles of herbicide that they were currently carrying in their carriage. He then began to remember the conversation he had with the accessory seller not too long ago.
(Flashback)
"I've received an order for herbicide, Shield Hero." The accessory seller stated as he and Naofumi shared in the same table while Tyler, Raphtalia, Kurisu, and Filo were eating breakfast in another table. "A village to the south has requested an enormous amount of it and they're requiring it immediately." The man explained. "You are the only one who I can ask. You have the Heavenly Fowl."
(Flashback end)
'Why do they need so much herbicide? And why so quickly.' Naofumi pondered about such an odd request while looking at the bottle of herbicide that was on his hand.
"Master, the plants here are amazing!" Filo told her master as he, Tyler, and Kurisu went to look to see what was up ahead. They realized that many green vines covered everything up throughout the land.
"I don't know about you, Filo. But this is a bad thing." Tyler remarked, seeing so many vines on the ground.
"Yeah, the vines covering the landscape this way aren't something we see every day. And it's usually not a good sign either." Kurisu added.
"They weren't kidding when they said they needed a lot of herbicides." Naofumi remarked.
"Master Naofumi! Look there!" Raphtalia pointed her finger up ahead.
Up on the hill was a wooden palisade which had several vines coming up from the wall and into the ground where they spread around the area.
"Okay! Get us up there as quickly as you can!" Naofumi ordered Filo.
"Here we go!" The Filolial that was pulling the carriage then proceeded to pick up the pace.
Thanks to Filo, they were able to get through the other side of the palisade once they reached it. At the other side of the wooden wall, they arrived at a refugee camp that was set up by the local villagers. The same villagers requested a large number of herbicides.
"I don't know how to thank you enough." The village elder stated. "This place was about to fall prey to all the vines too!"
"Have you tried burning them? Last I checked, fire eats plants." Tyler suggested, remembering how Grass type Pokémon are weak to Fire type Pokémon and their moves.
"Certainly. We've tried everything we could think of." The elderly man replied. "We've even resorted to summoning adventurers, but the situation is worse than before." He continued. "Our village was already overrun by the vines. What's worse, the plants turned into monsters and started to attack us."
"Monsters?" Naofumi repeated before everyone in the camp heard someone screaming.
"Some adventurers went to level up, but when they departed they had no idea what was waiting for them." The elderly man explained. "I begged them to stay."
Naofumi clicked his tongue as he turned towards Filo, who was gorging on some fruits at the back of the carriage. "Filo! Find the adventurers and bring them back to us!"
"Okay." Filo put some fruit into her beak before she departed. It didn't take long for Filo to come back to the camp, where she was carrying three unconscious adventurers with her wings. She proceeded to drop them to the ground without a care. "There were plant monsters all over the place. Some of them even spat poison or acid or something at me." Filo reported. "Why would these guys go when they're so weak? They must be stupid. You know what I mean?"
"Wow. Even though she's just a little girl, she could sass a lot!" Tyler commented.
"I don't think that's something a person should say." Kurisu said, sweatdropped at the comment.
"You really don't have to say that last part." Raphtalia told her.
"Huh?" Filo said, while feigning ignorance.
"Don't "Huh" me!" Raphtalia scolded her.
"Ugh…"
"Don't "Ugh" me either!"
While the two were busy bickering at each other, the villagers around them started to notice how Filo could talk.
"That bird… It talks!"
"Could it be…"
"It must be the Heavenly Fowl. the Savior of the Heavenly Fowl has come to our village too!"
Some of the villagers stated as they realized what group of people that have come to their aid.
"Please, good sir. Tell us! Are you really the savior who traveled in a carriage, drawn by the Heavenly Fowl?" The village elder asked.
"Sorry. Wrong guy." The rumored "Savior" denied. But the elderly man in front of him said otherwise.
"We beg you! Please use your powers to heal those who are sick! There's no greater good you could do!" The man pleaded.
"Wait. Some of you are really sick?" Raphtalia inquired as the man simply led them to one of the tents.
Once the four of them came inside, they saw several children who were bedridden. One of the most bizarre features of them is that they have plants rooting in their bodies.
"Whoa… Why are there plants in those kids' bodies?" Tyler muttered as he was surprised as the rest.
"Something tells me these plants were no ordinary ones." Kurisu remarked.
"As you can see, the plants are devouring their bodies." The old man explained the conditions that children were currently in.
"These damn things are even parasitic?" Naofumi wondered aloud as others were looking at the ailing children with worry.
"I can't ask you strongly enough, Savior! Please do what you can to heal them!" The village elder begged him.
"I can't say for sure if I'll even be able to heal them." Naofumi approached one of the ailing children with Raphtalia and knelt down to get a little closer. He proceeded to pull out a bottle of herbicide before he pulled out the cork. Then, he activated his Potion Enhance skill popped up and his Book Shield glowed. He then poured the herbicide all over the kid's body. Fortunately, it worked as the plants in the body wilted and died.
"Well, will you look at that? It works!" Tyler grinned as everyone was relieved at seeing the plants disappearing.
With the herbicides he had on hand, Naofumi was able to cure all the children from the parasitic plants. After everything was said and done, Naofumi and the others came out from the tent as they prepared to depart.
"That went well." Raphtalia told her master.
"I guess. But we're outta here as soon as we get our money. This isn't our mess to clean up." Naofumi stated as Kurisu looked towards something behind them.
"Um… Are you sure about that, Naofumi?" Kurisu told her comrades as they turned around and saw what she had seen. They saw three men, including the village elder, kneeling before them.
"Oh, Savior of the Heavenly Fowl! We beg you from the bottom of our hearts! Please save our village!" The village elder pleaded once more.
Seeing as he doesn't have much of a choice, Naofumi decided to stay. Standing beside him were Tyler and Kurisu. While Raphtalia was by the carriage with Filo, who had fallen asleep.
"Our village was being ravaged by famine. Until one day, the Spear Hero visited." Hearing about Motoyasu made the three perked up. "When he heard of our plight, he went into some nearby ruins and brought back a seed that had been sealed there for many years before."
'I felt like we've heard these before…' Kurisu pondered. The rumors of three other Heroes were also heard by the party, thanks to Naofumi telling them about it.
"He called it the "Miracle Seed"!" The elderly man continued.
"The "Miracle Seed" sealed away for years?" Naofumi then remembered about the empty chest that the party stumbled upon when looking for the magic gemstone. "That was it?"
"At first, we had no idea. We were overjoyed when we saw how quickly the plants were growing and bearing fruits." One of the men besides the village elder explained. "However,…"
"They grew more than they should and overwhelmed your village, right?" Kurisu guessed.
"Indeed." The elderly man nodded. "When investigating our options, we've hit upon an ancient legend, passed down to our people." He continued. "A long time ago, an alchemist, who set up shop in this area, created a seed. For some reason, he sealed it away."
"Legend also said that only after a short while, the plants would overgrow everything in the region." The second man who was accompanying the village elder added.
'Tch! I knew he was a dumbass when I first looked at 'im, but I don't think he would mess this up so badly.' Tyler remarked, realizing that Motoyasu either didn't read the warning or he would just go along with whatever Malty told him to.
"Hang on a sec." Naofumi interrupted them. "Why didn't any of you have doubts about that seed when you already knew about the legend?"
The three men in front of them could only look down in shame. Realizing that they too played a part in the disaster that struck their village. Naofumi could only take those expressions as an answer.
"I get it. You convinced yourselves that it was safe to use because a Hero brought it to you." Naofumi theorized.
"It doesn't take a genius to know how messed up that is." Tyler said, agreeing with his leader. "But I guess I don't blame you. You're all too hungry at that moment to think of the consequences."
"A little harsh, but they're right." Kurisu added. "But one thing for sure, it's definitely not the Miracle Seed that I know of."
"Wait, you're saying there's a Miracle Seed in your world too?" Naofumi asked before turning to Tyler. "What about you?"
"I think mine's the same as her." The delinquent-looking young man stated.
"To reiterate, our Miracle Seed is just a type enhancing item. When a Pokémon holds this item, all of their Grass type moves increase by 20%." Kurisu explained. "So naturally, they don't have the ability to do something as crazy as this."
"That's a relief." The "Savior of the Heavenly Fowl" remarked as he and the two others saw the three villagers kneeled down once again, with the village elder offering a commission.
"Savior of the Heavenly Fowl! We'll pay you for any treatment and even for the monster extermination in advance! Anything! Please, save our village! I beg you!" The village elder stated while holding his hand to offer the payment to Naofumi.
The green clad Hero stood up and took the commission from the elderly man. "I don't like cleaning up after that moron's mess, but I'll earn my keep." Naofumi proceeded to walk towards the direction of the village with Tyler and Kurisu following suit. Naofumi then had his Legendary Shield manifested into his right arm, something that had not gone unnoticed by the village elder.
"That shield… Could that be…?" The village elder wondered as he saw the rumored "savior" and his comrade walking towards the direction of the plant-infested village.
"Let's go, Filo! Raphtalia!" Naofumi called his two other party members.
"Right!" Both Filo and Raphtalia said in unison as they caught up to the others before leaving to uproot the plants.
Thanks to Filo and Tyler's Rapidash, they were able to immediately as soon as possible. It was after they walked a few steps into the place that they were attacked by two plant monsters, spawned from the "Miracle Seed" that grew and infested the place.
The first monster was a large, green pitcher plant with a gaping mouth filled with sharp teeth, two eyes on the body, several vines that acted like tendrils/tentacles, and several roots-like legs. The second one was another plant-like monster with a flower-like face and two frills, a pair of thick leaves, and a round body that has spider-like legs.
The pitcher plant-like monster, dubbed as a Mandragora, snarled at the intruders before it shot off acidic liquids from its vines at Naofumi, which he easily blocked with his shield. Without any words, Raphtalia swooped in and did a X-shaped slash and Tyler shot it multiple times, killing it instantly. Filo attacked the second one, which was called a Plant Riwe, with a precise spinning kick, causing several acidic liquids spurted out from the monster before it went limp.
Naofumi and the others saw something that warranted their surprised reaction. Standing in the center of the village was a large tree with a large red flower in the middle of it, which had a magenta-colored eye in the stigma, accompanied by several white stamens.
"Looks like that weird-looking tree is the ringleader." Tyler stated as he readied his gun.
"Yeah. If you take that thing out, it will all be over." Naofumi said before he noticed something else. "What is that?"
"What is what?" Kurisu said before she widened her eyes at what Naofumi had just seen. Soon, everyone realized that they were not the only ones fighting against the infestation.
Facing the tree-like monster was a bipedal, mammalian-like creature which is primarily light brown with darker brown arms and three triangular markings around its face. It has oval, brown eyes, and a triangular, red nose. Its arms have three fingers, while its feet have two long claws. Covering its back is a tough, green shell, which extends from its head to halfway down its tail. The tip of its tapered tail is orange. There is a small, off-center hole in the shell on the back of its head and, around the face, the shell has four leaf-like spikes. On the back of its head is another spike split into three parts.
"Dang! This big, weird Trevenant-like thing with an even freakier eye doesn't give up!" The "creature" stated, revealing its rodent-like incisor when he opened his mouth. The small, green-shelled creature then barely dodged several attacks from the monster's vine.
"Is that some kind of monster?" Naofumi wondered.
"No, dude. That's a Pokémon." Tyler answered, shocking Naofumi and Raphtalia.
"Wait, it is!?" Raphtalia inquired.
"Yeah. It's a Chespin." Kurisu then noticed something that was wrapped around by one of the monster's vines. "Look over there!"
Everyone then looked at the "something" that was caught on the vine. It was a raccoon-like Pokémon with bristly, zigzagged patterned fur. It has stripes formed by alternating layers of cream and brown fur. It has a brown head with spiky ears and a black nose. A black mask-like pattern that surrounded its brown eyes. The upper half of its mouth is jagged. Its feet have three claws and pink paw pads. Its fore feet are cream-colored, but the hind feet are brown. And Its brushtail is spiky and bristly.
"Is that a raccoon?" Raphtalia wondered, curious about the creature's zigzag patterns. But she suddenly felt familiar after seeing the Pokémon. 'Wait a second…' She pulled out the plushie strap that Tyler made for her and realized that entangled Pokémon resembled said strap. 'Of course! This is the type of Pokémon that Tyler made for me!'
"Someone… Help…" The captive creature muttered quietly as it kept watching her "friend" trying to save her.
"I see what's going on now." Kurisu said, having put two things together. "That Chespin must have been trying to free that Zigzagoon, who was caught by that monster."
"Zigzagoon? That's what it was called? Well, the zigzag pattern on the fur is pretty prominent." Naofumi commented. "I guess since you both knew about those two, then they're definitely Pokémon."
"You got that right, Naofumi." Tyler said.
"There's nothing to worry about. I'll destroy it, Master!" Filo volunteered as she immediately jumped at the monster.
"No, Filo! Wait!" Raphtalia called out to her comrade, but it was all for naught.
Using the vines, she leaped off of it before kicking away another. Fortunately, the monster shifted its attention away from the small Pokémon.
"Whoa… Is that a Pokémon?" Chespin muttered as he noticed Filo, he soon then noticed the party. "And who are those guys?" He then set his eyes on Naofumi. "That messy haired dude… I don't know, but he seems like the coolest of them all."
"Air Strike Shield!" Naofumi shouted as a green shield-shaped projection appeared just as Filo used it as a ledge to jump even higher.
"Whoa! That's a cool one! How did he do that, though!?" Chespin exclaimed with starry eyes as Filo did a barrel roll to avoid some incoming vines.
The Filolial leaned forward as she lunged further into the massive tree-like monster. Once she had gotten a little closer, Filo jabbed her talon right into its eye, causing some acidic blood to spurt out from it as Filo was able to land safely. This also caused the monster to release Zigzagoon from its grip as she was now falling.
"Here's my chance!" Chespin stated as he ran up to catch his friend. "Don't worry! I got—" He didn't get to finish as the Tiny Raccoon Pokémon crashed onto him, causing the two of them to fall to the ground.
"Ow…" Zigzagoon groaned before she realized that she was on top of her friend, which she immediately got off of him. "Oh no! Chespin! Are you all right?"
"Never better…" Chespin groaned with swirly eyes.
"I guess Filo's reckless approach actually helps for once." Kurisu stated as she saw the two Pokémon, who were okay.
Filo dodged some more vine lashing as they were shocked to see the monster regenerated its eye.
'It regenerates way too quickly! So normal attacks, including Tyler's gunshots, aren't going to work.' Naofumi thought before she turned to Raphtalia. "Raphtalia! Splash this herbicide right into the eyeball!" He told his slave before he flung said bottle of herbicide towards Raphtalia, where she immediately caught it.
"Yeah! Right away!" Raphtalia complied before she sprinted towards Filo, which the former immediately got into the latter's back once she was right near her. "Okay, Filo! Let's go!"
"Right!" She immediately took off with her comrade. Filo managed to deflect and then jumped over any vines that came their way. When several vines came at them at once, Raphtalia intercepted the assault by slashing everywhere. Unfortunately, she ended up slashing the vine that Filo was standing on, causing them to fall. "Stop holding me back, Big Sis!"
"Hold you back!?" Raphtalia retorted, being offended by the claim.
"Heads up, you two!" Tyler shouted at them as a vine snatched Raphtalia out of Filo.
"Ahh!" Raphtalia shrieked as she covered her dress so that everyone, especially Naofumi, couldn't see her panties.
Filo then snickered at her troubled comrade.
"Filo! Did you just laugh!?" Raphtalia inquired.
"No, of course I didn't." The big Filolial denied. "Nevermind that, just grab the herbicide!"
"Wait! Nevermind what?" Raphtalia replied before she pulled out the bottle of herbicide and opened it. She then immediately poured it down to one of the tree monster's roots, causing it to roar in pain as it felt said root melted. However, it didn't last as it recovered from it too.
'It's regenerating again!?' Naofumi thought before he remembered how effective the herbicide was when he used it to cure the children. 'Come to think of it… If the Potion Enhance skill works on the herbicide, might as well…' Having come up with an idea, Naofumi proceeded to approach the plant monster.
"Dude! What are you doing!?" Tyler asked but he was ignored.
"Master Naofumi! Stay away!" Raphtalia warned him as multiple vines came rushing at him and managed to ensnare him. But just as the vines were about to envelop him more, his Legendary Shield glowed in a green outline before the vines that constricted him imploded one by one.
"Incredible…" Kurisu muttered.
"Whoa… Is this for real?" Tyler muttered as he was speechless as everyone.
"Hmph! Do you actually think those wretched vines would be able to hold a Legendary Hero?" The "gun" commented telepathically in Tyler's head. "Of all the Four Heroes, I find the Shield Hero… quite intriguing. While his personality is different compared to his predecessor, his heart…is one and the same."
'You actually said something nice for once…' Tyler commented.
"Hmph! While I'm the noblest of all weapons, even I know to give credit where it's due. For I am a gentleman."
'Whatever you say.' Tyler stated in his mind.
"Wow! You're so amazing, Master!" Filo complimented her as Naofumi managed to reach one of the monster's large roots.
"So that's… That's what the Shield Hero is capable of…" Raphtalia muttered
"That's so cool!" Chespin, who had woken up, was in awe at what he had just witnessed. "Is he some kinda superhero?"
"He's strong…" Zigzagoon added, who had mixed feelings of impressed and scared.
Naofumi wasted no time to activate the designated skill, which the shield glowed as well as the bottle of herbicide. Once he pulled the cork, the young man proceeded to pour down every last drop into the massive root, causing the monster to react with overwhelming agony. Thanks to the Potion Enhance skill strengthening the effects of the herbicide, the tree-like monster was unable to regenerate as it began wilting.
"You four! Get back!" Naofumi told his comrades, as well as Chespin and Zigzagoon to step away from the dying monster, whose eyeball fell from the flower.
Raphtalia immediately cut her way out of the vines and fell onto Filo's back, which the latter immediately ran away to get them both out of danger.
"Well, let's go!" Chespin told his friend as they immediately ran to safety.
The "tree" then cracked itself in half before collapsing into the ground, ending the threat of the ancient, mutant plants once and for all.
Naofumi then noticed some of the fruits that fell from the tree monster were opened, revealing the seed in each of them.
"Those ripe seeds could cause some troubles." Naofumi stated. "Gather as many as you can!"
Standing behind him were the two lost Pokemon. Chespin, in particular, looked at the Shield Hero with amazement.
"That guy's so cool…!" Chespin muttered.
After that, the party, except for Naofumi, proceeded to gather every fruit that they could get so that its seed wouldn't regrow into another plant monster. Just as Raphtalia was about to reach and grab it, Filo abruptly took it away first. In order to pick the fruit much simpler, Filo turned into her human form.
"That one was mine! I was about to take it." Raphtalia told Filo.
"So what? I got it before you." Filo dismissed Raphtalia's claim.
"It's mine!"
"No! it's not!"
"Yes, it is! Now, hand it over!"
"No! I will not!"
The two proceeded to bicker at one another as the others watched the argument unfold.
"You know, Kurisu. The more they argue like that, the more I think that they kinda like siblings." Tyler commented.
"Considering that Naofumi raised them as if they were his daughters, I can't help but agree with you." Kurisu replied.
"What am I going to do with those two?" Naofumi sighed with a tired and annoyed tone before he looked at his weapon tree to see the new types of the Legendary Shield. He stumbled upon one, which was called the "Bio Plant Shield". The skill that came with it caught his interest. "Plant Modification?" He repeated before picking some of the fruits that were on the ground to test something out, something that had gone unnoticed by Raphtalia. Using his new shield, he threw three fruits onto the ground, causing them to grow into another plant monster. However, it didn't take long for it to wither and die.
"Excuse me, but what're you doing, Master Naofumi?" The demihuman swordswoman asked.
"I unlocked a new skill. It's called Plant Modification, which I used to do a little experiment." Her master replied, causing Raphtalia to widen her eyes at her master's implied recklessness.
"We just barely took down that monster! So, if you don't mind, please! Don't be so reckless!" She replied as Naofumi looked indifferent. Though deep down, he appreciated the concern.
"Hey! The cool guy in green!" Naofumi turned around and saw the two Pokemon that they saved. "Thanks for the help, back there! We owe ya big time!"
"Yeah. Thank you for saving us." Zigzagoon said meekly as she bowed to them.
"It was nothing. We just do what a sane person should do." Naofumi told them.
"Master Naofumi!" Raphtalia scolded him before she turned to the two Pokemon. "Don't worry about him. Master Naofumi was actually really happy to help. Even if he didn't show it."
"I don't mind. Shield Bro's okay in my book." The Spiny Nut Pokemon retorted to Raphtalia with a smile.
"Shield Bro? Don't make up nicknames on the fly." Naofumi replied, not liking the nickname that the little Pokemon gave him.
"Don't be like that, Shield Bro! You were awesome back there!" Chespin stated. "The way you used that shield of yours while at the same time being all cold and quiet was really really cool! You're like a superhero! With a cool getup and awesome weapons."
"Well, my weapon is just a shield. The only thing I'm good at is just trying to defend myself."
"But you ended up saving this place from those nasty things! Can't get any more badass than that, Shield Bro!"
"He really looks up to you, Naofumi." Naofumi and Raphtalia then turned to see Kurisu, Tyler, and Filo, who were done gathering all of the fruits and seeds in the village. "Chespin is known to have a very optimistic outlook on life. You could learn a thing or two from the little guy."
"What makes you say that?" The Shield Hero asked.
"Here." Tyler proceeded to pull out his Pokedex once more to show the Shield Hero Chespin's Pokedex entry.
"Chespin, the Spiny Nut Pokémon. A Grass type. The quills on its head are usually soft. When it flexes them, the points become so hard and sharp that they can pierce rock. Despite having a curious nature that tends to get it in trouble, Chespin keeps an optimistic outlook and does not worry about small details."
'It somewhat reminded me of myself when I first got into this world…' Naofumi pondered, seeing his past self in Chespin after hearing the entry.
"So, what about the other one?" Raphtalia asked. "Zigzagoon, I believe it's called."
"Give me a sec." Tyler then showed a picture of Zigzagoon in his Pokédex.
"Zigzagoon, the Tiny Raccoon Pokémon. A Normal type. It walks in zigzag fashion. It's good at finding items in the grass and even in the ground. This Pokémon tends to wander around restlessly because it's curious about everything."
"Zigzag-style run? That's new." Naofumi mused, who was more interested in the part where Zigzagoon could find items from pretty much everywhere on the ground. Which would prove beneficial for him. "Hey! Is it true you can find anything?"
"Eek!" Zigzagoon proceeded to run and hide behind Chespin's back. "Scary…"
"Master Naofumi! Don't be like that!" Raphtalia scolded him. Zigzagoon then looked at Raphtalia with curiosity. "Here. This is you, isn't it?" She pulled the plushie strap to show it to the Tiny Raccoon Pokémon.
"Whoa…" Zigzagoon awed as she sniffed the plushie strap before she approached the demihuman swordswoman with even more curiousity.
"Sorry about that. She's been a bit jumpy ever since we first met. I'm surprised you were able to get her to approach you." Chespin told them. "But yeah, Zigzagoon is really good at finding stuff."
"Yeah. I could tell that this Zigzagoon has Pickup as her ability." Kurisu remarked.
"Pickup?" Naofumi, Raphtalia, and even Filo asked.
"Each Pokémon has at least one ability in them, which is like the skills in this world. A Pokémon may either have one of the two abilities that its species has or only stick to one." Kurisu explained. "Zigzagoon could have Pickup, which allows the wielder to find items in and out of battle, or Gluttony, one that makes a Pokémon eat a food they have earlier."
"That's interesting…" Naofumi muttered as he and the two others understood. He then looked up Aron's information once more, where he looked at his ability which was listed as Sturdy. "Okay, so what's this Sturdy ability for Aron?"
"I think it allows Pokémon like Aron to tank one-shot attacks once." Tyler replied. "Tanky Pokémon usually has that ability."
"I see." The Shield Hero said as he could imagine Aron enduring some dangerous attack in the future.
"Does that mean we'll be catching them?" Raphtalia said as she saw Zigzagoon nuzzling by her legs.
"Yes. You'll be catching Zigzagoon while Naofumi will catch Chespin." Kurisu said as Tyler handed the two empty Poké Balls to Naofumi and Raphtalia.
"Okay." Naofumi simply replied.
"So, Shield Bro's gonna be my Trainer? Awesome!" Chespin fist pumped into the air. "I'll be sure to make you proud, Shield Bro!"
"Yeah, yeah." The messy haired young man stated as he readied his Poké Ball.
"I-I hope I'll be able to meet your expectations, Miss… Um…" Zigzagoon said as she stuttered a bit.
"Raphtalia. Just call me, Raphtalia." The demihuman swordsman stated.
"R-Right… Raphtalia."
"Go!" Naofumi and Raphtalia threw the empty Poké Ball towards the two Pokémon, where they simply stood there to allow the ball to hit them. They went inside of the Poké Ball once contact was made. The two Poké Balls then shook on the ground twice before two clicking sounds were heard.
"All right. They're all yours now!" The gunman said as Naofumi and Raphtalia picked up the Poké Ball and put them away.
"All right. Let's go back to the refugee camp." Naofumi said as he went towards the direction where they came from.
"Right!" Raphtalia picked the basket full of fruits and seeds before she caught up to her master.
The one who didn't leave was Kurisu, who was lost in thought.
'There's no doubt about it now. Pokémon really have begun to appear in this world. My guess is the spatial anomalies caused by these Waves of Catastrophe, which poked a hole into Tyler's world and possibly my world. I wonder… What else has the anomaly dragged into this world?'
"Hey, Kurisu! Let's go!" She snapped out of her thoughts by Tyler shouting her name.
"Coming!" Kurisu shouted back as she put her thoughts to rest before catching up to the others with her basket of fruits and seeds.
