"Come on, Hunn, we're going to Hogsmeade," Fred whispered in her ear. She shivered at the sensation of his breathing in her ear while his long fingers played with her long, dark hair.
She looked away from him with her nose twitching. She seemed a little confused and twisted her hair around her fingers. "But it's not until next weekend, Fred? How are we going to go?" She looked up at him and met his dark and golden eyes curiously
"You know, for a Ravenclaw, you're not very bright, Hunn," George told her, standing up at the table before lightly tugging on her hair, wanting her to get up with him.
She stood up next to them, "What do you mean? The only way to get to Hogsmeade is down the path past the Quidditch field and through the gate to the village. Everyone knows that. There's no way to take the path because the teachers will spot us, and the gate is spell-locked, so students trying to go out on non-Hogsmeade weekends. We can't get through even if we tried." She explained her confusion, seeming genuine.
"Oh, you poor girl, we know things you don't," Fred Whispered teasingly. "Things the teachers don't even know, too. Things about the castle you'll never read in Hogwarts a History."
Her eyes really seemed to light up at the thought of learning something new, something unknown to everyone else.
"Do you want to know what we can teach you? If you want?" George asked, his eyes serious and burning with a bright passion
"I'm sure I could figure it out." She crossed her arms and stuck her tongue out.
"But we're an open book. Ready for you to read." Fred told her as he took her hand and squeezed
George grabbed her hand and Fred the other one, and they led her from the great hall, skipping along the way, dragging her past everyone's curious eyes and whispers.
The goofy trio walked past portraits and teachers whistling innocently.
The teachers would narrow their eyes and observe them as they took the moving stairs up until they got to the third floor.
Hun grabbed their arms, "We're not supposed to be here."
They kept dragging her along despite her protests.
"What am I looking at? This ugly old statue? Everyone knows it's here. Nothing special." She exclaimed, even more confused.
They looked at each other and then winked at her. "But not everyone knows the password. Like we do." Fred smiled wide, deviously.
Her eyes sparkled. "Password?"
"Dissendium," Fred said with George, their wavelengths matching up. She tried to repeat the word when suddenly the Hump opened a dusty old slide gleamed in the shadows.
"Down you go, Hunn."
"NO. NO." she struggled against them, not completely trusting them
"Yes. Yes. Yes. I said yes one more time, so down you go." George lifted her much smaller body into the hump and settled down on the slide so she would slide down and land with a thump at the bottom
"You oafs!" she yelled up at them, and they laughed together.
"You hear that, Fred? I'm an oaf." George laughed before jumping down with Fred close behind him.
They landed next to her and stood in the dark. Her body pressed closely against theirs.
"Are you ready?" Fred whispered
"Ready for what?"
"Hogsmeade, of course. We told you that already." George yelled
"Lumos." they all whispered, lighting the tunnel with their wands. It exposed the damp ground and dusty walls.
Fred took her hand, "We will get you to Hogsmeade today."
"Alright. Eww, disgusting." She whispered, moving away from a fat spider handing on the wall, "And I told you there's no way for us to get to Hogsmeade because the gate is closed. Besides, we're underground and can't possibly get there from here."
"Oh, how little you know. If you're so sure you're right, then if you walk with us, we'll end up on the other side of the castle, no harm done."
Her eyes narrowed, "Fine. We'll go to the other side of the castle." She huffed and started her unknowing walk to Hogsmeade.
"She's feisty, George." Fred howled as they Walked behind her
The tunnel was narrow, and they walked in a line close together in the center to avoid the dusty walls and bugs. Fred and George had to duck not to hit the ceiling, and she walked tall and proud, missing the dusty webs by inches.
After walking in a line, turning corners, and dodging spiders, they reached the ladder to Honeyduke's cellar, "Are you ready?" Fred and George laughed together as she climbed the ladder to the top, pushing the tile up and to the side. It pulled her up and into the mouthwatering scent of every sweet imaginable.
She crawled up into a bright area, "Where are we? The kitchens? You both know we're not allowed in here! The house elves will tell! Where have you dragged me off to?" She looked panicked and confused, eyeing the tunnel again, plotting her escape.
"No, the kitchen is behind the giggling pear. We're in Hogsmeade Hunn. We told you we'd get you there." They said together, grabbing her arms to drag her down the hall and out the side door onto the gravel alleyway.
"Right over there is Zonkos." Fred pointed
George pulled her to the right, "And down that way is the post office and then the Three Broomsticks. We are going to go there for a nice stiff drink. Ha ha, stiff."
Hunn giggled and smiled at their silly joke.
George released her and pushed the door to the Three Broomsticks open. It was empty of students and filled with very few adults. They sat in a booth in the corner of the bar out of the eyes of anyone who may be important.
A Sassy and scary Rosemerta walked over and gave them a stern look, "How did you three get here. You two drag her here?" she accused the twins, wagging her finger with her eyes narrowed accusingly.
"No, never, Rosemerta, my darling. We've just come out for a nice stiff drink. How about some Firewhisky? Bring us three glasses?" Fred asked with a cute smile
"Haha, an underage asking for Firewhisky. I'll bring you three butterbeers, and you'll thank your lucky stars I don't report you to Albus for being here on a closed weekend," She walked away, shaking her head.
"She's going to turn us in. Oh god, we need to leave and get back to the castle. Plausible deniability!" she started to panic.
"No, no, no. Not after we've come all this way. She said she wouldn't tattle on us. Now sit and relax for once." They pulled her down into the booth again, and she shrank back, trying to hide.
Rosemerta came back carrying their butterbeer, sloshing onto the table. "Now drink up and go back to the castle, you three. Silly children."
"Just two years until we're seventeen, Rosey, and then we're coming back for that Firewhisky!"
"Oh god, don't antagonize her, Fred. Jesus, drink it up, and then we need to leave!"
"No, no, no, no, no, no. Hunn, drink your butterbeer, and then we'll go for a stroll before heading to the castle again. Trust us, we won't get you in trouble."
"How do I know that?" she muttered, pulling her drink closer and sipping on it. Her eyes lit up, "Oh, this is good. Butterbeer right? I like this. I'm so used to pumpkin juice." She took a larger gulp and smiled, relaxing a little more
"Don't worry, we'll show you. We've got something planned. Something big. You've joined the Weasley family, Hunn. The people we sat next to today they'll soon become your friends too, don't worry."
"We said we'd save you, and we did. Not just from Flint but from your never-ending boredom as well. Life with the Weasleys never gets boring."
"Don't I get a say in this?"
Fred looked at his devilishly handsome twin, and together they replied, " No."
She groaned, "Great. What have I gotten myself into."
"My dear lady, we can read you very well. We can tell it's not enough. You think we'll leave, and you'll be out of all the friends you've only just made today."
"Not on our watch, Hunny Bunny. We're Weasleys, and we make friends with only the worthy and kind, and most of all, never those slimy snakes."
She wrinkled her nose, "So, you wouldn't be my friend if I was a Slytherin?"
"That's impossible too. You're far too nice to be a Slytherin." George told her, "And way too smart." Fred finished
She relaxed a bit more, and they told her a few jokes as they all finished their drinks. The twins aimed to get her to open up and want to be their friend.
Once their drinks were done, they continued to sit there talking about anything and everything. Her eyes lit up when she talked about her books and grades. She described them as her best friends, and maybe they were, but their goal was special.
Fred looked Over to George. Their eyes met, and he knew his brother felt it too. Fred could feel it in his blood. They looked back at her and smiled again as she went about Hogwarts A History.
Too bad what she needed right now wasn't a couple of boyfriends but just a few friends. They could be friends.
Besides, who would be crazy enough to deal with the devil twins? They knew that already; they accepted they'd never find one woman for them both, but it didn't stop them from dreaming of something more.
"What are you staring at, Fred?" She blushed and looked away from them, "Oh, we finished our drinks already. What time is it?" She asked
"We've been done for a while, but you talked about books and seemed Song. You've continued for hours, and we didn't want to stop you. "
"It's only four; almost time for dinner in the hall."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I know I can talk a lot when it comes to books. They're just so amazing, like a home away from home, and they leave me feeling so connected and happy. Just stop me next time when I get carried away."
Fred smiled, "Don't worry about it. We could listen to you talk for hours. At least you're not like Hermione talking about how we need to dedicate ourselves to our studies and do our homework. Nag nag nag nag."
Fred and Hunn laughed, "It's true she goes on and on to Harry and Ron about how they need to do their essays weeks before they do."
"It's good to be prepared, Fred. Then you have more free time." Hunn told them jokingly
"What do you do in your free time?" Fred asked, feeling curious.
She shrugged.
George probed, "Study? Read?"
"I read and practice my spells."
"You trade one book for another, but we like to make people laugh and make snakes angry."
"Next week, come with us. It'll be a thrill!" Fred hopped to his feet and brought her with him. George paid for their drinks and followed soon after
Out in the air, they walked down the high street and turned off to the Shrieking shack. The road was winding, and the trees were trying to bloom in the chilly spring air.
The Shrieking Shack was a creepy old house. Windows and doors bordered shut, and the wind blowing through created a screaming sound that gave you shivers. The house was practically falling apart but still stood despite rough storms and harsh winters. Hunn looked amazed at the creepy old place and went to the fence before Fred and George could stop her.
They stood back a foot from the fence, "That there, my friend is the most haunted place in Britain." George pointed out the bordered-up building, "No one can get in. Trust me, we've tried a thousand times."
Fred nodded in agreement, "Now we really think it might be haunted."
"Why did you bring me here?" she looked interested, "I've read about this place, but it's so different in person." She looked amazed, walking closer until they pulled her back.
"No more time to stay. Besides, you can't get in. We've tried."
Fred pulled her back down the path away from, "Come on, we can always come back. Let's go to Zonkos before we head back to the castle I wanna grab something for next week's prank."
She smiled, "What are you going to do?"
"We are going to show those nasty Slytherins not to mess with the Weasley family and our newest member."
"Yes, our little Bunny friend, we will make their table disappear. For that, we need just a few supplies from Zonkos."
"You'll make it disappear?" she seemed amazed and even more interested now that she knew what they were planning.
"Yes, now let's go."
They walked slowly to Zonkos, and she looked at every building, gasping in awe and surprise. When they walked in, she wandered off to look at everything, lost in the newness of it all like a child. She stopped to look at the dung bombs, hiccough sweets, frog spawn soap, and the nose-biting teacups. She picked up the pretty teacup and yelped when it bit her on the nose.
"It says nosebiting. So it bites noses." They told her, smiling.
Rubbing her nose, she scowled at them, "Do you have what we need?"
"She said we, George! Oh, she's in it now. No going back! And yes, little bunny, we do!" Hopping joyfully, they pulled a scowling Hunn out of the shop and back through the Honeydukes passageway. After they returned through the one-eyed witch's hump, they made their way to the Gryffindor common room and pulled Hunn inside.
"Wait here. We have to stash this and then go down to dinner!" They raced away, passing Hermione and Ginny on the way and stopping just short of bumping them over
"Hunn! Is that you? How'd you get in here?" Hermione called to her
Eyes wide, she looked down, "Fred and George brought me. I'm sorry, I'll go now." She stuttered, turning away when Hermione's hand caught her shoulder and pulled her back
"Figures those oafs would bring you here. Now you know the password. It'll change tomorrow, but I figure you'll get the new one soon enough." Ginny laughed and threw her arm around Hunn's shoulders, "They really like you."
"Where did they drag you off to?" Hermione asked
Looking up, Hunn smiled, "They took me to Hogsmeade, and we all had a butterbeer together at the Three Broomsticks. Before we came back here, we went to Zonkos too!"
"Those cheats we were going to take you next week! We'll go still, but we'll do it just girls then!"
"Why?"
"What do you mean why?"
"Well, George and Fred are your friends, and they're our friends. So maybe we Can be friends too?" Hermione asked
Hunn's head was confused, "I don't have friends..."
They looked at her with questions swimming in their eyes, "None?"
Hunn shook her head, "My house doesn't like me much. We can get really competitive."
"Over what?"
"Grades. I'm top of Ravenclaw, and they would rather it was them."
Ginny laughed, "That's crazy! You seem awesome. They're really missing out on a good friend."
Hermione gave her a look, one Hun couldn't identify, "You're the top of Ravenclaw?"
Hunn nodded, "I have been since last year."
"That's amazing. Can you help me study?"
"Sure. I love to study."
Ginny groaned, "Can we please talk about going out next weekend instead?"
Hermione giggled, "Fine. Maybe Luna can go too if we pull her out of the Quibbler."
Before Ginny could say anything, "Hunn! You ready to eat?" George and Fred screamed over
Forgetting her two newest friends were talking to her, she smiled at Fred and George, "Yeah, I'm ready to go."
Ginny nudged Hermione, "Well, we'll have to plan this later."
The five of them walked through the portrait and went to dinner together.
"Hunn, walk with us," Fred told her, tugging her back to his side
George stuck his tongue out, "We don't want the Harpy to steal you from us."
Ginny hit them both, and Hunn laughed really laughed at them as George hid behind her and Fred hid behind him.
