Greetings, dear readers, and welcome to a new chapter of Bayley's Universe. Now, last time ...oh dear, things got a bit dicey last time. So, after the unfortunate happenings after lunch, what's to come next? Read on to find out and I hope you all enjoy, my dolls. =)
Surprisingly, Fourth and Fifth Period seemed to go by fairly quickly, which felt like more than a relief to Sasha. Math 2 went about as that class usually would for the magenta-haired Gem, and Drama actually felt like something in the way of a slight stress reliever; although, with Drama, it didn't hurt that today's line reading practice featured characters having an argument with each other-'I hope I didn't scare Zelina with my line reads. I guess I was probably drawing a bit too much on how I've been feeling since Lunch,' she thought.
And now here she was. Wandering around the school building. Hoping to find Shayna. And, if her luck would have it, she'd find out why the brunette did what she did to Mia during Lunch. 'When you find Shayna, don't fight her. Just calmly try to get the answer from her about why she did what she did to Mia,' she mentally repeated as a mantra of sorts; after all, she wouldn't exactly want to have to deal with any of the school authority figures chastising her in the event something bad were to happen.
As she would later find, Shayna wasn't in the building. Seeing as how she had been spending the better part of the past fifteen minutes looking for the brunette, with an annoyed sigh, she decided to go outdoors to get some fresh air and clear her mind. Opening one of the nearby doors to head outside, Sasha immediately took a deep breath in to begin her rela-
"Well, well. If it isn't my good friend Sasha," a familiar voice could be heard coming from her right.
Recognizing the voice as the target of her search, Sasha spun around to see a smirking Shayna looking at her. Doing her best to keep a clamp on her sudden swell of anger, Sasha said "Good afternoon to you too, Shayna."
"What brings you outside? Couldn't find anymore of those dorky books you like to borrow from the library?"
"No, actually. If you must know, I was looking for you, Shayna," Sasha said, getting straight to her point.
"You? Looking for me?" Shayna asked in mock surprise. "Oh, I feel so honored that the new kid was looking for me. So? What made you want to try to find me? It's not like I make it that hard."
"It's about what Mia told me happened between you and her during Lunch," Sasha said, doing her best to hide the trembles that tried to escape.
"And whatever could that be? That I was nice enough to share my lunch with her? That I let her sit with me and my friends today? You're going to have to be a bit clearer here, new kid," the brunette said with an almost bored wave of her hand.
Taking a breath in before letting it out, Sasha then said "I saw Mia outside of the lunchroom. She was on the ground."
"On the ground? Oh damn, that's not good. Sounds to me like poor Mimi might've had a bad fall. I sure hope she's okay after that," the brunette said, a slight amount of shock in her voice.
She couldn't be serious. Sasha knew that Shayna was lying; be it either from the tone of her voice or her overall body language, she knew this human wasn't being entirely truthful. She just wasn't quite sure how to call her out on that. All she could do was stand and listen to the human drone on and on about …nothing of much importance really.
"And I don't know about you, but I am so ready for school to be finished for today. Nothing but boring lectures and being around other people. If it wasn't for Physical Fitness, I probably wouldn't even come here most days. …But, then again, I wouldn't get to see my friends here. Like our good friend Mia."
This plucked a nerve. Sasha really wanted to tell the brunette what she thought about her idea of friendship. That making people give her money for things wasn't friendly. That punching people definitely wasn't friendly. She wanted to tell her these things so badly. …But instead, she took a breath before saying "Well, it's a good thing you mentioned Mia. I was actually supposed to be going to meet up with her. Classwork thing, something you probably wouldn't understand."
"Oh, don't say that. I'm smarter than I look. I may skip classes, but I know plenty of stuff. How's about I come along and help you two out?"
"No, no, that won't be necessary. But, thanks for the offer," Sasha said as she began to turn on her heel.
Watching as the younger teen began to walk away, Shayna said "You know? It's a shame, really. I mean, after what I had to do to Mia earlier, I was thinking maybe I could make a friend in you. Guess I was wrong about that."
This stopped Sasha in her tracks. Just the fact that Shayna was talking so casually about what she did…. That was it. She knew she shouldn't be fighting humans, but it was going to be in defense of a friend. Turning back to look at the brunette, Sasha said "You know? I think maybe Mia can wait a bit. How's about me and you take a walk and talk about things?"
A slight smirk starting to tug at the corners of her mouth, Shayna said "Good idea, new kid. And I know just the place we can have our little chat."
Oh no. It looks Sasha's talk with Shayna didn't go too well, what with the brunette saying some things that plucked at Sasha's nerves a bit. And after that rather tense talk, seems like Shayna has an idea for where they can go. Where could that place be? And just how will that talk go? Those questions shall be answered...next time. Until then, don't forget to RR please. =)
(Stay safe, warm, and healthy out there, lovelies. *sends love and positive vibes out to you all*)
