Admiral halberton was ready in his flight suit should the worst come to pass. The battle had just barely begun and already the GiNNs mixed with the three gat series were causing havoc amongst their fleet.
Several ships had already been sunk and his aid couldn't help but comment on how magnificent the machines were, however as enemies they were monsters. Halberton couldn't agree more. But he was eager to potentially see this demon the archangel held. While he was having them hold off on launching he knew it was not up to them as to when lily would launch. She was a mercenary though so he hoped she would listen to orders and hold off.
For the moment the archangel was in the rear of the fleet, and they had taken a defensive formation around it. But that wouldn't hold up forever, not against someone like commander rau le cruset who he knew had to be heading up this battle for zafts side.
Watching as their flak managed to destroy a GiNN he couldn't help but worry how many they may lose for this project to succeed. Unlike the admiralty board that was in blue cosmos' pocket back in Alaska, he still cared about every man under his command. So as he also watched a couple GiNN tag team a mobile armor he couldn't help but feel sorry for the lost pilots.

Rau watched the battle from his command chair on the vesalius. It was going well, even if halberton was putting up one hell of a fight to protect the legged ship. They had yet to see bravo one launch even though they had launched the prototypes.
"Admiral halberton. He seems determined to see that ship land on earth." said rau as they watched a GiNN fire a rocket into the bridge of one of the enemy vessels. "He's keeping it at the rear, preventing it from being in the fight."said rau as he gauged the battlefield. He was eager to launch himself but did not want to steal the glory of this kill from his proteges. Instead he had his eyes on bigger prey, namely bravo one.
"All the better for us. They aren't using the strike either."stated the captain of the vesalius as he looked back at the commander. He was relieved that bravo one had yet to take the field. That monstrosity was still such an unknown that they had little to know way of knowing how it could potentially turn the tide of the battle.
Rau chuckled, "he knows he can't beat us conventionally with ships and mobile armors. He's quite the leader. Sacrificing so many to protect one ship. The way I heard it he made these five machines. So the least I can do is use this battle to show him he was right to have them built. But a fool to do so as well. "he said as he stood up. Floating back toward the bridge door the captain stood to see what the commander had planned.
"I have an eerie sense we will see bravo one on the battlefield soon. I believe the field could use a white knight to hunt the demon down."stated rau as he left and the captain saluted him.
The captain turned back to the battle in time to watch each of the three prototypes start eliminating ships, their primary goal until the strike or legged ship showed up considering they were exceedingly effective against them.

Murrue watched as several retreating ships due to damage were ultimately destroyed by approaching nazca and laurasia class ships, murrue had a strong idea which ones they were. After all, they were a long way from the plants or any of zafts patrol routes.
Her phone began beeping and she answered it to see mu on her private monitor. "Hey can anyone tell me why we are on standby? The 8th fleet is getting thrashed. At Least launch Lily and the demon king, she isn't a part of the alliance, she doesn't have to follow halbertons orders!" exclaimed Mu as he looked up to see lily floating outside her cockpit, alaya-vijnana system already attached and tied to her. Hell kira was even here in the strike but he was part of the alliance at this point.
Murrue sighed. "As much as I would love to give the go ahead to engage and launch you both, we have not gotten the orders to launch just yet and we both know your single mobile armor or her single mobile suit won't make that big of a difference in a battle like this."said murrue. She could hear mu slam his fist against the wall. "For now just hold on and stay on standby."she said and hung up just as he was about to continue.
Feeling just as useless as Mu, murrue decided to make a call. "Connect me to the menelaos!" She called out and soon she was connected in real time to the flagship of the fleet.
"What now?" called out halberton as he was clearly flustered, likely by the losing battle they were in.
"I`d like to request permission for the archangel to withdraw from the fleet and begin a descent sequence asap."she said as she looked to her former commanding officer.
"What!? You want to just run off from a battle?"called out halberton
"The enemy's target is this ship and the strike. If we don't change position soon then the entire fleet will be destroyed."stated murrue as she tried to convince the admiral to let them begin their descent. "If we descend now we won't reach Alaska but we will be within earth alliance territory. Once we reach the earth's entry limit we can shake off any pursuers. Admiral please! We don't have time to debate this."she said as she pleaded with him
As the battle raged around him, Halberton thought for a moment. Smiling he said, "it seems you're as reckless as ever lieutenant ramius."
"Well I learned from my superiors."stated murrue as she chuckled.
"Fine, archangel! begin emergency atmospheric descent protocols! We will cover you as you make your descent…and we won't let a single enemy get near you." he claimed as he went to cut the communication.
"Wait sir…permission to at least allow the demon king to launch. It may not be much but I feel it can take the weight of the prototypes off of you."she said to which halberton shook his head.
"We need that machine on earth as much as we need it up here. Launch denied."he stated before finally cutting the communication.

As the battle raged on dearka, nicol and athrun began to run into problems as they got bogged down with mobile armor's and flak from the ships. Athrun ran headlong into some flak from a ship, skirting around its side with his shield up. As missiles came at him as well he used his CIWS to shoot them down before firing a couple rounds from his laser rifle into the engines of the ship. It simply detached them as they exploded.
Nicol was busy fending off a barrage of missiles however instead of taking them out with his CIWS he simply took them on his trikeros system shield before turning it and firing his three lancer darts through the mobile armor firing on him.
Dearka growled. "Great, we are outnumbered and we are running out of GiNN's. What's next, bravo one gonna show up?"asked dearka as he tried not to think about the demon machine while strafing an enemy ship and firing a few lasers into it.

Inside the hangar of the archangel the announcement of them preparing for descent came through and mu growled. "We are descending now? In the middle of a battle?"shouted mu as murdoch floated over to him while the techs did final checks on the moebius zero.
"What good does shouting at me do? I'm not the captain of the ship. I just fix things."stated murdoch to which mu sighed. "Yeah sorry. I shouldn't take my frustration out on you."said mu.
"We would lose the GiNN's and the zaft ships by entering earth's atmosphere thereby ending the battle given we are their primary target." said lily from where she was floating.
"She's right. If we move into the earth's atmosphere, the gravity alone will deter anyone from following."said Kira as he floated by.
"Kid? What are you doing here?"asked mu as he watched kira float towards the strike.
"Someone earlier told me the strike chose me. I couldn't just abandon it and you guys."he said as he reached the cockpit. "I`ll be on standby in the strike. We are at level one battle stations after all."
"I thought the kid bailed. "said murdoch. Mu shook his head. "Fighting in this war, experiencing combat and the horrors of war and battle so young…it will take its toll eventually."stated mu. Murdoch nodded.

As the battle raged on, the archangel finally got its clearance to descend. As it began the prototypes seemed to enter a rage.
"Is the legged ship descending?" asked nicol and athrun at the same time while taking out ships on their own.
"Not if I have anything to say about it!" said dearka as he combined his weapons into their anti armor shotgun and fired into a ship's side, causing it to combust.
No matter what got in their way they seemed to destroy it. Finally they got through the flak and mobile armors and began to engage the menelaos. The remaining GiNN's also moved in and tried to close the gap but they just lacked the firepower or the armor to get through the level of flak.
Onboard the archangel lily was getting anxious and wanted to fight. Maybe it was the gundam influencing her even as it wasn't started up, but she was eager to get out there. That was when the radar operator called out something that got her attention.
"A white mobile suit has taken the field, it's coming up as a CGUE!" stated the operator and with that lily started up the demon king. Opening a comm channel to bridge lily looked to murrue. "Let me launch NOW! I can handle the chaff and give the 8th fleet more breathing room. I don't even have to launch with my blade."said lily. It was then kira piped up as well.
"Yes please let us launch while we still can. According to the specs the strike can make re-entry on its own if needed."stated Kira which surprised everyone by his presence. Murrue seemed to think about it but eventually relented.
"I will allow you to launch but you must understand you have seven minutes. Anything past that and you risk being stuck in space or re-entry on your own."said murrue as she gave them the clearance to launch.
It didn't take long for lily to move the demon king to the launch tunnel. As it opened, Lily saw the battle above them. For a moment she panicked a little, the sounds, the explosions….it reminded her of the battle that got her discharged…but she shook her head and let the catapult send her flying out of the tunnel. As previously stated she had launched without her main weapon, intent on truly fighting like mikazuki during that final battle.
A GiNN got to experience this first as she rushed past the prototypes who all came to a stop to watch her as she slammed her shoulder into the GiNN before boosting back and around to pierce it's back with her claws, penetrating the battery and causing it to explode in front of her. Boosting away she continued her onslaught by boosting up to one waiting GiNN, sword in hand only to have her knee it in the cockpit door, grab the sword out of it's hand, and spin it only to jam it back down into the cockpit.
The three prototypes immediately went after her, ignoring the fact the strike was launching as well.
The buster attempted to fire its hyper impulse beam rifle combo at her only for her to grab a GiNN and block the beam with the GiNN, causing it to explode as well. Tossing the remains aside the gundams eyes flashed and it rushed the buster.
Initially the buster started to back off but quickly it began firing its CIWS at the demon king as lily charged him, shoulder checking him before turning and kneeing him in the cockpit door. It was lily's turn to surprise these three as when the aegis and blitz came in to assist the buster the two spikes on the demon king's back shot out and turned out to be on wires as they snaked their way to the two machines.
Bashing against the phase shift armor it caused the two prototypes to become stunned. As the three recovered from their separate assaults the tails retracted back into their housing before she boosted off with her new booster on her back, allowing her to rush another GiNN but as she reached it a grayish white shield came and bashed into her side.
Forcing her back, Lily turned to see rau le cruset's CGUE with its sword aimed at her. "Well bravo one. It's time someone taught you naturals how to really pilot a mobile suit."said rau over an open comm.
"Bravo one? Is that what you're calling my gundam? It's the demon king. Learn it!" shouted Lily back at him as she found herself surrounded by four GiNN's loaded with heavy assault weapons, meaning large rockets.
"So what? you think that's gonna stop me? Bring it on ya bunch of pansies!" shouted Lily as she launched all four of her tails, the GiNN's not getting a chance to respond as they found the tails buried in their cockpits. As the four GiNN's and their munitions exploded lily boosted up and out of the smoke before she just floated there facing rau's CGUE with her four tails moving around.
"So I see you have some tricks up your sleeve. Let's see if those tricks are enough to keep up with me. Athrun,nicol, dearka! Go after the strike, leave the demon king to me."said rau as he rushed the demon king. Using sword and shield he blocked the four tails though found his shield yanked away as one penetrated it.
Slashing at the demon king, rau found his sword rather ineffective against the arm of the demon king as it used its arm to block. Slashing several more times the sword just kept bouncing off. Deciding to go for a more targeted strike the commander turned his blade and thrust it into the shoulder of the demon king, finding some purchase between the shoulder and the torso. However before he could properly finish the strike he found the blade broken in half, snapped like a twig in the large gauntlet of the gundam before him.
Boosting back, Rau found himself dodging and diving, groaning at the G's he had to put himself through as he dodged the demon king's tails.
As the buster engaged the strike as well as the aegis the blitz decided to go after the demon king. Cloaking up and ignoring the remaining earth alliance units, Nicol stealthed up behind the gundam.
While it focused on the commander's CGUE the blitz came up behind the demon king, took aim with his trikeros shield system…and went to fire his beam rifle. However as he did so one of the tails changed direction and came at him, while the beam splashed against the armor of the demon king and just scattered like it had no effect.
Quickly activating his phase shift armor the blitz pilot quickly found himself defending against an onslaught from the hashmal tail weapon.
On rau's end he took the momentary reprieve of the tail changing to go after the blitz to draw his heavy assault machine gun and began to fire on the demon king. Bringing up both arms, Lily was surprised when the rounds actually penetrated her armor to a degree, dealing some damage.
As she was assaulted, Lily growled and boosted towards rau. Grabbing the rifle she pushed it away, recalling her tails and pulling the rifle out of his hand. Tossing it aside she looked to rau who was defenseless at this point.
Just as she reached out, even with the speed of her arm, the blitz grabbed on and stopped her arm from moving. Using this opportunity rau flew off.
Lily growled. She had wanted to tak rau out of the game asap. But instead she turned and kneed the blitz in its cockpit door. Bringing her other hand up she slammed it down on the blitz's head, finally getting the stealth machine to let go.
Noticing the archangel had made significant progress in it's descent and the buster was, as in the anime, trapped in earth's gravity and being pulled in. "Sucks to use a heavy machine doesn't it kid."said Lily over an open comm as she flew off towards the archangel. Examining the battlefield, Most enemy units had retreated…well…the remaining ginns were retreating…the mobile armors were all but gone.
The Menelaus and the Gamow were trading shots and trapped in earth's gravity.
All that was left of the enemies was a GINN that had been supporting the buster, the buster, and then the moebius zero and strike. It was then that Lily noticed the infamous shuttle flying behind the strike. It held a bunch of civilians but zaft didn't know that. So as the GiNN figured it was a dead pilot anyways it seemed to rush the shuttle with its heavy sword.
Lily beat him to it, catching the GiNN by grabbing it's head she dragged it away even as it swung wildly at lily. The sword naturally did nothing to the gundam but still, as the heat of re-entry started to become apparent lily turned and began using the GiNN as a heat shield, just like mikazuki did with the graze. She knew it would likely kill the pilot, but she was also noticing she was going to be landing a ways off from the archangel. "Oh shit….it's gonna be such a pain to find them in the desert…."she said as she pulled up her suit's internal computer and was already calculating the difference in their landing zones to the most likely probability.
As lily rode the GiNN through the atmosphere she watched the strike and moebius zero land on the archangel as they did in the anime. She received a communication from the archangel.
"Miss solace please make your way towards us. There is still time for you to land aboard the archangel."said murrue as she looked worried for the demon king's pilot. Lily shook her head. "Naw there's no time. Even with my thrusters, my suit is heavier than you think, i`ll drop before I can reach you. Don't worry, I'll be fine. I have a heat shield."said Lily as she closed the communication and continued her descent.

Rau le creuset was sitting on the bridge of the Vesalius watching the archangel get away…and the demon king.
He had been surprised when he reached the hangar and got out to see his CGUE had taken more hits than he thought, the unit was dented and even had a few spots where those tails seemed to have pierced it but not found enough purchase to actually do damage.
"Just what all can you do bravo one…"he said quietly.
Rau got up and began to head for his cabin. He needed to think about this…demon. And even more so he needed some of his pills.

murrue watched though as the Menelaus blew up and she stood and saluted. She had been so focused on keeping up with Lily and Kira she hadn't been paying attention to the fleet.
Once she gave the fallen admiral a moment of silence she sat back down and began to get status reports from her bridge crew. They would be landing in Africa, in the middle of the desert at night. And a long night it would be with recovering the mobile suit and armor as well as making sure their pilots were ok, getting any damage repaired. She sighed and began that long night by beginning to figure out how they would recover their machines. Specifically lily and the demon king given it was landing somewhere else.

About two hours later Lily sighed as she sipped on an emergency water pouch she had grabbed from the ready room just for such an occasion. She was standing on the sand of the desert. She knew where she was thanks to some captured images and mapping and whatnot based on the zero system's data. She was about an hour's trip from the archangel but she had one problem…something that had yet to occur to her. She was out of fuel! Now with her ahab wave reactor this meant she was fine on power…but her thrusters were empty. It took everything she had left after the battle in space to slow her descent so she could safely land. Even then she could feel the demon king dislike for how hard she came down on its legs.
Originally she had some trouble standing like kira would when he launched to defend against the desert tigers forces but thanks to the alaya vijnana system and the ease of the gunpla battle cockpit style she had she was already recalibrated and ready to fight in the desert.
Which was a good thing considering as she relaxed something came crashing down next to her. Jumping back, literally thanks to her alaya-vijnana system, she raised her arms to block her suit from picking up too much sand that got kicked up by the falling object.
Figuring it was just a piece of the gamow or menelaos lily began to get closer, hoping it was like a resource cache or something, but was surprised when a red hot, barbed blade came rushing out of the cloud of kicked up sand and dust. Jumping back once more, Lily was surprised when as the dust settled there was a custom blue sandrock gundam standing before her.
It was a sandrock custom from endless waltz, except instead of grays that usually made up the shoulder and skirt armor it was colored in shades of blue other than that it had barbed heat shotels instead of the normal just basic curved shotels. The other change was, hanging on either shoulder armor, was a snake themed shield totalling two shields.
"So you're the demon king! It's about time we met!" shouted a feminine voice as the gundam stumbled and clearly needed to be recalibrated for the sand. As the pilot struggled to stand, Lily couldn't help but laugh.
"And who are you? Never heard of you in gundam seed."said Lily, dropping the other worldly bullshit for a moment as she tried to make heads or tails of this machine. It was so basic…yet it looked like a strong challenger.
"Gundam seed…what the hell is that? This is the desert viper!"the woman exclaimed and the sandrock gundam moved to lunge at Lily only to slide and fall flat on its face.
Lily physically made the demon king crouch down as best she could. "Looks like someone needs to recalibrate for the sand...desert viper."said Lily as she stood up and began to walk away.

"Wait…that's not how dad tells it!" exclaimed the blue haired little girl as she got off her mothers belly and listened to her giggle loudly.
"Oh it's not is it…and how does dad tell the story?"asked Lily as she set a hand on her daughter's head. A moment later though more blue hair came into her view as she also saw her lover's green eyes and felt a kiss on her forehead.
"How about I tell the story from here on out. You're just gonna embellish it and make it sound like you were a complete hero."said tsuga as she came around the couch and the little girls shifted so their "father" could sit and tell his part of the tale.

Ok and that's chapter 5. Like I said, I will be taking the next few days to review and revise the first five chapters. But I'm having fun. I'm enjoying this story. And I hope you all are as well. Please continue to review and let me know what you think.
Chapter 6 will, like in the other story, be an intermission where you will get to see tsuga's side of this tale for a chapter, just a little snippet from her. There will still be updates on the archangel and we will see lily return to them, but first I have some other stuff to dive into as well.
