Back to you 6
I do not own Naruto.
She was not pleased. Her arms were crossed over her chest and she looked at the crumpled pile of young Uchiha in front of her. "What the hell is your issue and where am I?!" she snapped and the one on the ground looked up at her with his hands covering his head to protect it from any more hits. The older brother just stared at her with amused onyx eyes. She knew who this one was without him even having to say it. "Madara Uchiha." She bit out and he seemed surprised that she knew his name.
Why wouldn't she know his name. His smugness radiated off of him in waves, well at least it did until she had called him out by name. He fell into an offensive stance so she did the same. "See I know how you Hyuuga fight, I've fought them before. So before you go thinking you've won this before it even began, think again." Madara said and Hinata smirked at him. She had used regular gentle fist and taken out the young one, but then again he hadn't been expecting the repetitive hits either.
"Then come at me then, I will fight you for real." She said and he flew through hand signs for a grand majestic fireball, which she could also do. She countered his fireball with one of her own and when they dissipated, he was flying at her through the smoke. She ducked to the left and avoided a swift punch, but before she could fully dodge the kick that followed it connected with her knee and sent her sprawling towards the ground. She spun in midair and regained her footing, only for him to be face to face with her in an instant.
A wicked fire burned in her eyes as she thumped his forehead and sent him flying backwards. She lunged forward and jumped, aiming to give him a heavenly kick but he managed to dodge it. "What was that supposed to do, scare me?" he asked while laughing and she could only smirk as the ground rippled and erupted towards him. She rushed at him once more and punched the ground right in front of him causing it to ripple and crack away from the impact of her fist. While he was busy trying not to be swallowed up by the crumbling earth, she just watched him. This version of him was strong, but he was nowhere near as strong as the one they had fought in the war, which she could use to her advantage.
"Are you ever going to tell me what you want?" she asked and he landed before her with irritation on his features. "I've fought Hyuuga before but-" "Never any like me. I've heard it before." She sighed and crossed her arms back over her chest. She was getting fed up with their little song and dance. She wanted to know what they brought her here for so she could go find Tobirama. Since she was here in his time she might as well help out with a few of these little issues before they get out of hand. She didn't want to kill the brothers, but they were currently in her way.
The veins around her eyes pulsed and she spun on her heel and caught the kunai that had come flying at her. She gave Madara an annoyed sideways glance as she spun the blades around her fingers. "Got mommy and daddy rushing to help you huh?" she sighed and moved to throw them back at the newcomers but Madara's hand grabbed her wrist swiftly. Her eyes were wide with surprise, he was faster than before. "Do not hurt them, or I will kill him." He sneered and she pursed her lips. She knew exactly who he was talking about, it wasn't hard to figure that one out. "You lay a hand on him and I will kill you." She bit out and he nodded.
"Then we are in agreement. We both have things we want to protect and I think that is what matters most here, yes?" he asked and she nodded curtly. "Then why bring me here knowing I will run right to him?" she asked and he released his ever-tightening grip on her wrist. Her eyes dropped to look at the deep red indention his hand had left on her. His raw strength was incredible as well. He was one to keep an eye on still for now. She made her way over to his younger brother and released his blocked tenketsu. She helped him to his feet and he thanked her softly. "You'll have bruises but no permanent damage." She said softly and he thanked her once more.
"Now… what do you want from me?" she asked and it was his turn to sigh. Before he could speak, his parents stepped between them and started whispering things to him, his mother gently checking to make sure he wasn't hurt. "Tajima-san, a word?" Hinata called and the elder man looked at her oddly. A swift green coated palm connected with him and he released a strangled yell, which made Madara lunge for her. "If you don't want my help healing your father, keep coming at me." She warned, swatting away his punch.
"I've seen this before, the strain from using the sharingan… the bleeding eyes… and the injuries sustained from using fire jutsu when you're not a natural user. It's ok because I can help, you just need to be careful." She assured Tajima and the man nodded. "A woman of many talents I see." He said and she nodded. "I was trained well." She replied and he sighed as he rubbed his chest. She knew they wanted her help, not just in the fighting area but there was something else.
"Hurry up and tell me what you want from me or I am going to find Tobirama." She said and Madara sighed yet again. "I don't want to fight anymore. I want peace with the Senju." A unanimous angry yell ripped from the other three Uchiha and she nodded. She could understand not wanting to fight anymore. It got tiring after a while. "Ok, so why me?" she asked and Madara scratched his cheek gently despite the angry ranting of his family members.
"Because you can talk Tobirama into ending the feud." He said and she rocked her head in an iffy manner. "While I am aware of your relationship with Tobirama, I am also aware of the fact that if Tobirama doesn't want to fight anymore then Hashirama will stand down as well. Hashirama was always one to see reason while his younger brother and father were not, just as you can tell my family is the same way. So please… help me convince them not to fight anymore." He pleaded and she relaxed her posture some.
"Fine, I will help you." She sighed while cramming her hands in her pants pockets. "But… you three… if you are so eager to die, why don't you let me end you now? Because if you go after the Senju anymore, I will not hold back against you." She warned and while she didn't mean it, she needed them to think she did. However, she knew that if anyone was going to go after the Senju it was going to be her. she would end the previous patriarch and matriarch before anyone else could get to them.
Images of a crying and beaten Tobirama flickered through her mind's eye and she knew that despite that he wouldn't want her to do anything to them, they were still his family in his eyes. He had always strived for their acceptance as she had from her own family, except she had gotten it, unlike him. No matter how strong he was, they would never acknowledge him the way he wanted them to. She felt for him, she really did. She never wanted him to hurt in this manner again.
"So, am I free to seek him out or do I have to hang out with you all forever?" she asked and Madara gave her a dirty look. "Fine, do as you please."
That was all he had to say because the moment the words left him; she was gone. She could feel the chakra that radiated from Katsuyu falls and so she made her way to the entrance. She touched the barrier, but yet again it was extremely hard to get through. She sighed and looked around her, thankful she had chosen the thick coat today. The biting winds were nipping at her cheeks so she pulled her lavender scarf back up over her face some. While fighting with Madara she had worked up a sweat so now she was just… cold… freezing cold.
She contemplated the thought of building a shelter and just waiting it out in the woods, but the idea of killing and processing a deer for food was unfavorable as well. Seeing that she would expend more energy and have a mess to deal with so wolves wouldn't make their way to her and become an issue. After a few minutes of sitting and contemplating all her options she turned around and saw that her only option was standing behind her. She repressed the dirty look that manifested the moment she saw him, but she eventually sighed and turned to face him fully.
He was holding something and he held it out to her, which she took carefully. She unwrapped it and it was a blanket. She stared at it for a moment before he tossed it over her head and shoulders and grabbed her by the wrist. "It's only going to get colder you fool, let's go before it starts snowing." He grumbled and she blushed lightly. She nodded and wrapped the blanket around her a bit better. "Thank you." She said and he let go of her wrist. "Yeah… no problem." He sighed as he crammed his hands in his pockets.
"Hey Madara?" she called out and he glanced at her from the side only responding with a soft 'hm?'. "Did you and Hashirama really used to be friends?" she asked and he sighed deeply. She just watched as his whole demeaner changed. He seemed… sad. The only sounds around them were their footsteps and the sound of their breathing. He stopped suddenly and looked up towards the whitening sky, but he was still silent. "Sorry I asked. But… you're right it does look like it's going to snow again soon. We should get going…" she offered and he shook his head at her.
"Yeah, we were friends but our families tore us apart for too long I listened to everything they had to say and followed their every word. I just wanted that dream we had… the dream of the village." He sighed and she offered him a small smile, but had to catch herself before she said anything about the fact it actually happens. She didn't really want to do anything to change the path of time, but she wanted to be with Tobirama so desperately she threw caution to the wind the moment she heard katsuyu say the barrier was open.
"I can get behind the idea of the village. It sounds nice, so why wouldn't I agree to help you?" she asked and he looked at her oddly. "Tobirama talked about it and so did Hashirama. They often argued because Tobirama didn't believe in the village. I kinda may have changed his mind somewhat on it but who knows." She laughed lightly and he offered an amused twitch of the lips. "He is one who is hard to read." He sighed as they approached his front door. He slid it open and stepped out of the way and let her inside.
"Thought of foraging in the cold didn't sit well with you, did it?" the younger brother bit out as he pushed past them and stepped outside. Madara sighed and shook his head. "Don't mind them, they're mad at me too so they'll be acting like this for a while..." he said and showed her to his room. "You'll have to stay in here with me, can't really trust them not to pull anything against you." He said as he turned to drag another bed into the room.
Hinata breathed a slight sigh of relief upon realizing that he wasn't going to make her sleep in the floor, in his bed with him on the floor, or with him in his bed. She wanted none of the above and while she could kinda see herself sleeping in the floor out of respect and gratitude she would still rather not. "I didn't want to cuddle with you, didn't think your boyfriend would approve either way." Madara said out of nowhere and she just rolled her eyes at him.
"I appreciate the sentiment, however, where did the bed come from?" she asked and he released a small laugh. "Oh… yeah Izuna doesn't really need it." he said and she just gave him an odd look. "Oh, he's my little brother." She gave him an understanding nod before she sat on the bed he had just shoved against the opposite wall. She flopped back on the bed and bundled herself in the blanket with a sigh. She didn't know what she thought she was going to be able to do here… no matter what it will always end up that Madara will betray Hashirama. No matter what it wouldn't change.
It saddened her to think this way but when it all boiled down to it, he betrayed Madara because of how his family had been treated by the village. It was something that never ended just because their family was one who loved way too much and yet no one could understand the anger that comes with loving someone that much. She could understand it though. She knew she could, when the ten tails sent the spike flying at Neji, she had never had an air palm so strong before. Pure rage fueled her and she was able to save him.
"I understand why your family wants to fight still, but why don't they also understand that if they all stop fighting no more of your family will have to lose their lives." She said and he nodded. "That's why I'm doing this because I don't want anymore of my family to die." He said as he threw a pillow at her head. "Are you going to keep pretending you aren't hungry or are you going to ask for food?" he asked as she pulled the blanket back to look up at him.
He lay on his side with his head propped on his fist, the signature smirk plastered on his lips. She rolled her eyes as her stomach growled again. "Fine. Food?" she asked and he released a deep chuckle and flung himself off his bed. He motioned for her to follow him with a wave of the hand. She slipped out of the bed and followed him out of the room. She could smell the food cooking and noticed that there was an extra seat set up at the table. Izuna sat beside Tajima, who nodded to her in silent greeting, which she returned.
Izuna refused to meet her gaze, most likely he had noticed the absence of his bed in his room after his smart remark. "Misaki is making food, so please have a seat." Tajima said and Hinata nodded as she took the open seat beside Madara, which was right across from Izuna. He kicked her foot under the table and she smiled sweetly at him before dropping a chakra enhanced heel on his foot. He bit back a yelp and slapped a hand over his mouth as he struggled to get his foot out from under hers. Tajima continued to ignore the racket of Izuna banging his fist on the table as he tried his best not to verbalize his pain. Tajima took a sip of his drink and looked over at Madara.
"So, this plan of yours, to end the fighting… tell me more about it." he said before taking another sip, still ignoring Izuna's flailing. Madara offered a small smile to his father and began relaying everything to him that he had told Hinata. "Are you going to stop being a brat now?" she asked Izuna and he nodded. She removed the ball of her foot from atop his and he released a string of curses under his breath. "Fine whatever…" he grumbled and she sighed as she listened to the two continue talking.
"I figure we could have her conceal her chakra and-" this caught Hinata's attention now. "So, you want me to hide until things go south?" she asked and he nodded. "Yes, ideally, if we came right out and had you with us he may attempt to attack us to ensure your safety. Thinking on the broader spectrum, if we had you hidden away as backup then if he attacked us regardless, you could jump in and stop him." He explained and she nodded. She understood how brash Tobirama could be sometimes. He probably was out there searching for her as they spoke, and while this made her feel bad, she couldn't let it get to her. she had to ensure this plan worked, she just also hoped that Tobirama wasn't wearing himself down searching for her.
"I think that could work."
:-:-:-:-:
Tobirama slumped against the wall of his small home, he was frustrated because he hadn't felt Hinata's presence since she had arrived in his time. He could only hope that wherever she was she was ok. He decided he was hungry and decided he should make himself something to eat. He crouched by his fireplace and flew through the jutsu to start a small fire, then he made his way into the kitchen. He pulled some fish from his cooler and set to descaling them. Every swift scrape of his blade made his stomach growl more. He loved to cook, especially the fish he caught from the river nearby. They were always his favorite to prepare but seeing as when the winter months come through the fish were scarce, which is why he would catch some and freeze them until he wanted some.
Seeing as he now lived alone, he only had to cook for himself which was honestly preferable since Hashirama loved mushroom soup and it honestly didn't smell so fragrant. He repressed a small chuckle upon remembering the first time he had made the concoction and Itama's face had scrunched up, showing the disgust freely. Hashirama had been devastated that no one wanted to try his soup. His brother could cook, don't get him wrong, but good lord it always smelled horrible. Unless it was deer meat, then it smelled amazing.
He set the fish down on the parchment it had been wrapped in and he sighed as his shoulders slumped slightly. He missed his brothers. When they all lived together it wasn't the greatest being with their parents, but the brothers made things bearable. He was lonely here and had been since he decided to move out at sixteen. His home was silent, miserably so. Every creek of the floorboards could be heard, every breeze of wind, every crackle from the fireplace. It all sounded so irrationally loud.
He tended to hyperfocus on the sounds around him, or more so the lack of sound. His eyes became downcast as he sighed and set to work scaling the second fish. He knew who was at the door before he even knocked. "Come in Hashirama." He called out and the door to his home opened to reveal a sheepish Hashirama. He chuckled lightly as he shook his head. "What brings you by?" he asked and Hashirama propped himself against the counter beside him.
"I came to check on you, you old hermit." He said and Tobirama couldn't help but roll his eyes. His brother never just stopped by for no reason, despite his friendly demeanor he was plotting something. Tobirama could feel it. He finished scaling all three fish and put them on the kebab sticks and put three slits down each side of the fish. He proceeded to season the fish and began preparing some vegetables to go with it while he waited for his brother to continue.
"One of our informants came to us today and told us that they someone matching Hinata's description fighting with the Uchiha." Hashirama said and Tobirama stopped everything he was doing. He could only stare at the blade in his hands, thinking the worst had happened. "They said she fought using a jutsu similar to your space time jutsu… did you ever teach her that?" he asked and Tobirama shook her head. "No, I never did, but judging by the fact she's from our future she could have learned it at any given time." Tobirama sighed as he set to work preparing his food once more.
"She's alive, they didn't hurt her." Hashirama said with a small smile and Tobirama could only smirk. "I told them that whoever brought her through needed to worry more about themselves than of their plans. Looks like we figured out who brought her here. Now I just need to figure out why they were allowed into Katsuyu falls." Tobirama grumbled the last part under his breath, not trusting the idea that they were worthy of transgressing the barrier. He knew they were cursed beings and needed to be culled rather than catered to. There was nothing pure of heart about them.
"Perhaps if Lady Katsuyu-" Tobirama had never brandished a blade at his older before then, and he never wanted to do it again. Hashirama stared at him wide eyed and mouth agape. He knew his brother had never thought he would ever threaten him, but Tobirama couldn't believe that the brothers were worthy of gracing Katsuyu falls. "Lady Katsuyu did not grant them entry, and I never want to hear those words come from you again. I refuse to believe it." he snapped and Hashirama frowned at him.
"Tobi…" Hashirama gripped the blade that was pointed at him gently and forced it away from him. "Who else could have given them entry other than Lady Katsuyu or Lady Benzaiten? I don't think anyone else could have let them through, brother… just calm down and think about it for a while. I'll come back when you've cooled off ok?" Hashirama said, a wide smile crossing his features. Tobirama threw the knife and let it plant itself into the wall. Deep down he knew his brother was right, he just despised those damn Uchiha more than anything he was grateful that Itama was saved, but because they still ended up losing Kawarama before he had found Katsuyu falls he still hated them.
He supposed the brothers could still feel the same seeing as Izuna and Madara had three brothers between them and they all died too…
