I was going to update this bi-weekly but finals are coming up in early February so there will be slow updates until then.

This chapter's mostly going to be introducing Issei and the changes I made to him, feel free to review, it helps me improve my writing and general criticism would be great because I can't seem to weave conversations fluidly.

Also, FFN has a really weird thing with just deleting some of my words so if you see some missing letters or something, it'll be fixed sooner or later.

"I am a pacifist." — Normal speech.

I am trying to be a pacifist. — Thoughts.

[King] — Title/P.O.V/Current Place/ Current time.

A desert filled with grains of thousands of shadows — Quick thoughts, Instinctual Foresight etc. It depends.

[Issei Hyoudou]

[Hyoudou Residence]

My eyes shot open as my arm reached out and lightly pushed down on my yandere alarm.

I pushed my blankets away from my body, dropping my legs onto the cold floor before moving towards my bathroom, grabbing a green coloured T-shirt, a towel and small blue watering can from one of my desks before finally getting into the even colder section of our house.

I walked until I reached the mirror on my wall.

That dream again.

A green haired, faceless boy stared at me before I dispelled it with a blink.

I would have screamed if it weren't the thousandth time I had seen this happen, my thoughts wandered as my own face and hair were reflected back from the mirror once again, my brownish hair was messy and completely covering my green eyes.

Yawning, I made my way into the shower to bathe, but not before placing the watering can in the sink and slightly turning its knob.

I wonder what time it is…

Oh wait. I still had my clothes on.

I stepped out of the cold bath and put on the green T-shirt I had kept outside the shower and made my way to my closet because yes, I took a bath without taking off my clothes.

"Achoo!" No. I didn't have a col—

The running water of my sink caught my ears.

Why.

I made a mad dash into the bathroom with my pants half on, clothes were temporary. My plants would be eternal… they can't be eternal without water.

"Gotcha." Smirking, I turned the sink's nob back Into place and, picking up the can from it, I made my way to one of my windows, pulling my school trousers up because no one wanted to be flashed at…

I craned my head to see my alarm.

Six seventeen.

The gentle pouring of water onto my small vases of sunflowers, lilies and a rose soothed my ears as I hummed away while I watered them for a minute or two, after the water ran out I had nothing to do except dress myself properly for school because Souna-senpai would probably not let me bring another frog to school again if I didn't.

I grimiched.

I didn't even get to dissect it.

I gargled a sob down. No, Issei. You don't cry for Ryounosuke. He was released Into the wild. You can catch him again.

"Ise! Come down for dinner!"

"Coming mom!"

Wonder if I'll have pancakes today.

"Thanks for the fried rice, mom! Bye dad!"

I stepped out of the door of my home with a goodbye to my parents, slowly walking out into the street as a familiar sight greeted me.

A white haired man who looked to be eighteen but was probably older than twenty stepped out from the small gate of the greenhouse-like house infront of our own, he had pale white, almost porcelain skin, kind blue eyes and beat me by a few inches in height.

"Ohiyo. Shinohara-san." I greeted the man who would probably be my god-father with a wave and a sincere smile on my face, he turned back to me as he finished locking his gates and waved back, a gentle, kind smile on his face as we began to walk towards my school.

Shinohara Kageyama, my almost god-father almost uncle probably closer to being my brother who was my neighbour before I was even born was always here in Kuoh as long as I could remember, my father told me that he always lived here even before they moved in kuoh and that they met near a shrine that my parents had gone to pray to because… well… I don't actually know but I think my mother might have had some miscarriages.

He became a very good friend of my father after that meeting and would often tutor me in various subjects during my younger years.

He had albinism and was frail in some regards but he was not weak, not at all, running a doughnut shop while hunting down animals for ingredients made him an absolute master at marksmanship, not that he carried around a gun with him at all times.

He ran a doughnut shot near kuoh —actually right next to it— that was open six days a week. It was more of a hobby for him than an actual job but he liked seeing people smile.

"Aren't you a little early today, Ise?"

"Yup. I'm trying to not get caught by Souna-senpai in the lab again."

"...doing what?"

I turned to face him with a blank stare.

"...dissecting a frog…"

He blinked, once. Twice…

"Pfft— you remind me of Archie so much kiddo." Then he burst out into laughter, handing me a packet of unnamed seeds—

"They're Higanbana seeds, you said you wanted some right? I bought some from my trip to Osaka."

Oh coll Higanbana seeds—

Wait, Higanbana seeds—!?

"I will charish this gift with all my devotion. O great lord of plants." I bowed, getting a laugh out of him as I out the seed packet in my pocket and a familiar shop entered my vision.

"See you later Shinohara-san!"

"See you later Issei."

I waved goodbye to him as he opened the doors to his small shop, turning to face my school.

I took a deep breath.

With that, I was ready to sneak into sch—

"Fancy meeting so early. Hyoudou-san."

Ah.

I slowly spun around without moving an inch of my body, my face frozen into a surprised, almost cartoonish expression as I was met face to face with the only woman that was insane enough to block me from the biology lab.

Souna-senpai.

Caught before I could even enter the school. Great.

"I do not have a reptilian creature nor the spawn of satan on me Senpai!"

"...just get in. It's six thirty."

"Hai!"

Ha. Knew she'd be too tired to give me a punishment for… coming… early to school… huh… why'd I think she'd—

"You're going to have to tend the flowers with Saji after school." Right. That's why.

"At your command supreme leader!" Eh? Wait where'd she go—

"Are you just going to stand there Hyoudou?"

"Nei—"

"Don't compare me with the dictator, Hyoudou."

"Fine!"

I, am Issei Hyoudou and I have two dreams.

To be the Harem King and…

I wonder where you hid my frog, Senpai.

To collect a piece of every living organism.

The weird facts about flowers are going to appear for some chapters, Shinohara is an OC.

Tell me if I made some mistakes in the reviews.

See you in a few weeks.
