Karma.

The acoustic guitar that decorated the pedestal was the only thy that seemed to interest you as you avoided Taehyung's gaze which was trained upon you. You both hadn't exchanged a word since you began your trip to his house, and you were determined to stay that way if your stomach didn't have to grumble every second.

That very morning, your life changed drastically over breakfast with your parents when they told you that you were going to be betrothed to him.

"Y/N, we have something to tell you" you could tell that something was wrong. Your father had made a habit of saying this ever since your pet bunny in middle school died… "it's not bad news though, it's just…news."

You stop drinking your coffee as you stared at them, a blank expression etched on your face. "What is it dad? Is something wrong?." Your tiny voice shook with trepidation as you shifted in your seat. You were suddenly queasy when your father said, "you're getting engaged very soon, in the next three months"

Indeed you were right, something was wrong and you were furious, how could it be that they'd already decided your future? Weren't they supposed to love you and protect every decision you made? This was a joke, some sick joke and you hoped to God that it was,

"Who's idea was this?" Your voice was dripping with anger and you couldn't hear yourself over the blood rushing through your ears. Your parents go on to explain that they had no choice but to accept this proposal in your behalf. Their hands were tied and they had to choose between accepting and losing everything" you sighed and then asked

"When am I leaving?" You could see your mother's eyes brimming with tears as she got off her seat and moved towards you, cradling your head in her hands, trying not to wail… you didn't want them to lose everything and yet you were still hurt that they hadn't told you anything beforehand. You felt dizzy still as you slowly stood up from your seat, staring blankly into space.

"You leave today Y/N, there's no time, he'll be over by 12" their voices were somber, taking away your will to live and oh how it hurt, you so badly wanted to run away but you knew the harm that would come to them if you did, you couldn't let that happen to them - no, you loved them too much to let that happen (even though they behaved like complete assholes sometimes)

He had walked into the tastefully furnished living room now, his eyes still boring holes into you, while taking off the brown leather jacket he wore, perhaps waiting for you to say something, standing in front of you.

Your stomach grumbled again, but you ignored it this time and instead walked into the living room and gently turned towards him, a good portion of his face that you'd ignored coming into view. He was handsome, you had to give him that but you wondered how the two of you (strangers to one another) were going to survive an arranged marriage, how much more living together.

"You haven't said a word all day, are you alright?" You nodded and looked towards that guitar again.

"Is this what arranged relationships feel like with no time for introduction whatsoever?. You and me, together without any prior knowledge of likes and dislikes?" You asked this question calmly but your voice was laced with residual anger. You couldn't understand why of all the women in the world he decided to choose you and that too you who wasn't looking for a relationship.

It was not new to you, the concept of arranged marriages, after all your best friend Yna was in an arranged relationship but what you couldn't understand was the reason the woman couldn't choose( it was an arranged marriage after all) not forced.

You folded your arms, looking at your husband-to-be who was perched onto the arm of a chair trying so hard not to laugh at the way you looked almost comical in your actions. You stand, still strengthening your resolve to understand why he chose you and had to threaten your parents, but he didn't move a muscle or speak as he looked at you, eyes twinkling with wicked delight.

He cleared his throat "You're too cute Y/N" he answered as he moved towards you "whoever told you that this was a marriage?" You felt his wide hands snake down your forearms with, his hands cold despite the warm atmosphere. It was really confusing what he'd said to you and you feel your heart banging against your rib cage. There was no way that this wasn't a marriage, this had to be a marriage right?

Right?!

You can feel him behind you now, snaking his arms around your

neck, his hot breath fanning your skin that had already turned pale as you felt yourself shaking with cold and intense trepidation as to what he meant

"What do you mean? What do you mean that this isn't a marriage?.." he cuts your words short as he pushed you to the ground and let out a maniacal laugh.

You shrink in fear as he leaned down and grabbed a fistful of your hair in his hand, tightly holding onto every lock, he pulls you closer and you can see his dilated pupils.

He looked dangerous now as his grip on your hair couldn't be any tighter. By now your head was in immense pain as you tried to loosen his grip on your hair and as you beg him to stop, you feel your eyes dropping shut as he dragged you by your neck.

"Remember the 4th of April at the tiger lounge?" He simply says, his voice deep and menacing

Of course you did remember the tiger lounge and the man you'd humiliated with your words. Your eyes widen as realization dawned on you.

Karma was inevitable wasn't it?
