Lulu's POV
After I called Johnny I went home to take a shower and packed a bag, I took my phone out of my pocket to shoot a quick text to Dante.
Lulu: Hey, I'm going out of town for a few days. I just thought I'd let you know." I pressed send, I went to the airport and awaited my flight. I got in line to board my flight, settling into my seat. I checked my phone to see that I had a message from Maxie, I rolled my eyes before checking it.
Maxie: where are you? Dante told me you're leaving for a couple of days!
Lulu: I'm just taking care of some personal matters."
Lulu didn't want to tell Maxie she was going to see Johnny, because she wasn't trying to hear all of that. Lulu had forgiven both Johnny and Maxie a long time ago, if pressed to admit Lulu knew that given the opportunity she would take Johnny back in a heartbeat.
Maxie: Why are you being so secretive??
Lulu: Maxie, I have to do this. I'll talk to you when I get back.
Lulu put her phone on airplane mode, getting her laptop out and deciding to work on her short story, she should at least attempt to meet the deadline. Lulu managed to finish it right before the plane landed, sending it to Maxie's email. As soon as she got her luggage she rented a car and dialed Johnny's number.
Johnny's POV
As soon as I got out of the shower I received a phone call, I wrapped a towel around my waist making a grab for it.
"Zacchara." I answered.
"Yeah Spencer here, I need directions to your place." Lulu Spencer gave a goofy chuckle.
"Oh, you're here? That was fast." Johnny smirked.
"Well, I have important business to attend to. I just hope you won't be mad at me." Lulu admitted, pulling into the hotel parking lot.
"Lulu, I could never be mad at you." Johnny shakes his head, he knew that much for a fact.
"We'll see about that." Came her response.
"Is it something...bad?" Johnny wondered why she was being so secretive.
"Not... necessarily. It's just something I should have told you a long time ago. I don't know why I didn't even attempt to get back in contact with you until now." Lulu sighed, she truly felt guilty.
"Whatever this is, I don't want you feeling guilty. Alright? I'm going to send you the directions to my place. I'll see you soon." Johnny and Lulu hung up the phone, Johnny's interest was piqued.
Lulu's POV
As soon as I checked into my hotel and brought my bags up to my room, I decided to take a shower before heading over to Johnny's. I pulled up the directions that Johnny had sent me, driving through the snow covered streets of Maine. I rode the elevator up to the second floor, knocking on his door. A few minutes later the door opened, the years had clearly been kind to Johnny. Johnny looked just as sexy as he had all those years ago.
"Lulu Spencer, you look even more beautiful than I remember." Johnny smirked, leaning against the doorframe. God, she had missed seeing that damn smirk.
"Oh, I don't know about that." Lulu shakes her head as Johnny ushers her inside.
"I do." Johnny continues to smirk.
"Yeah, if that were true I would have been able to fix my marriage." Lulu wryly thought before pushing her thoughts aside, this isn't why she was here.
"When you left Port Charles I found out I was pregnant. I should have told you way sooner but, we have a daughter. Her name is Charlotte, she's fifteen years old." Lulu was prepared for all of the heat.
"I have a daughter?" Johnny wasn't mad in the least, he was in awe.
"Yeah, you do. She's gotten to be curious about you which I don't blame her for, In the least. When I was married to my ex-husband he just treated her like she was an obligation, that's the reason he gave me when he committed adultery. With my cousin. Anyway, that's a story for another time." Lulu cleared her throat.
"I'm coming back to Port Charles. Your husband slept with Carly??" Johnny's eyes widned at her admission.
"Oh, it wasn't Carly. I found out I had a cousin named Valerie, while I was trying to focus on my writing career and being a mom...I guess Dante got lonely or bored. Whatever. Dante has a child with her now and another on the way, I have a child with Dante as well. Sometimes it just makes me sick that I put up with it." Lulu shakes her head.
"I know this probably doesn't mean anything but, kissing Maxie was the worst mistake I've ever made. You're a good woman Lulu, you deserve better than that." Johnny sighed, he hated seeing her down on herself.
"It does. I forgave you both a long time ago, Johnny." Lulu gives him a small smile.
"What's our daughter like? Sit down." Johnny motioned to the couch, they both took a seat.
"Charlotte is very sweet, she always looks out for others. She's actually taken up the piano, I wonder where she got that from? Charlotte works very hard, she just got accepted to the national Honor society, she's co-captain of the cheerleading squad." Lulu summarized, she was very proud of her daughter.
"It sounds like you've done a wonderful job, Lulu." Johnny smiled at her.
"I tried my best, it's not always easy but it's worth it." Lulu smiled at his praise.
"What's going on in your life now?" Johnny asked, sensing that barely anyone asked her about herself.
"Well, please don't laugh at me." Lulu purses her lips.
"I promise I won't laugh at you." Johnny wanted to laugh but, he fought himself.
"I work for a company called Aurora Media, they bought Crimson out in 2013. I...write porn, you know like those short sex stories you see in Cosmo. Apparently, Nina thinks that's all I'm good for. I wanted something real...but, clearly that's all people see me as even after all these years. Maxie doesn't even attempt to stick her neck out for me anymore, I've sort of drifted apart from her through the years. I don't really have many friends anymore, at the end of the day I just have me and my kids." Lulu sighed, she never talked about herself anymore. When her kids asked if she was okay, she smoothly lied. They didn't need to worry about her.
"I can safely say that whatever I thought you were going to say, it wasn't that. You're worth so much more than just busy work, Lulu. Why have you and Maxie drifted apart? Was it because of me?" Johnny frowned, hoping she wasn't suffering from his decision.
"At least you didn't laugh at me but, thank you. No it doesn't have anything to do with you, trust me. When Dante cheated on me with Valerie in 2015, Dante told his best friend Nathan who is Maxie's husband. Ever since then things have been strained, I don't know what I did. I was the one who got hurt but, Maxie and Nathan chose to keep me at a distance. I had to stay with Sonny for awhile until I got on my feet again. I want to do something different with my life, I want to open The Haunted Star back up. I'm just not satisfied with how my life is going." Lulu admitted, Johnny had always been her safe space. Even now.
"I wonder why Maxie would act that way towards you. You are truly the strongest woman I know, I want you to know that I'm moving back home. I have nothing tying me here, I want to get to know my daughter. I want to be there for you. We could open up The Haunted Star together, I have more than enough money. You know that." Johnny wanted to help her in any way he could.
"I've given up trying to understand Maxie, honestly. Charlotte will be so happy, I'm so glad that you're moving back. Would you really do that for me? I hate that the Star is just sitting there going to waste." Lulu was overjoyed that he would be coming back home.
"Amen to that. I'm excited to get to know her but, you know I've always loved that boat." Johnny smiled, glad to see that she was happy.
