Lulu's POV
I woke up that morning, as usual confusion raced through my veins as I sat upright in my bed. I'd been talking to Johnny on the phone ever since I'd woken up, This morning was the morning that he would finally be out of that hell hole. It's not that Lucky wasn't doing a good job taking care of me or anything but, Johnny had always taken care of me better than anyone else. I waited until Lucky had gone to see the boys and Charlotte had laid down for a nap, I snuck out to my car and began my drive to Pentonville.
"Hey gorgeous." Johnny Zacchara smirked, when the gates opened and he slowly walked towards her. It was true Lulu didn't look like she used to but, that didn't matter to him. Johnny would love Lulu even if she was a brown paper bag floating in the wind.
"I know I'm not...not how you're used to me. If that even made sense. Since I was in that coma for almost three years, I've lost some motor skills. I still have some trouble walking but, I'll get them back. I know I will. I hope your not...disappointed." Lulu had a slight slur to her voice, it was a struggle having to be helped.
"Lulu, it's okay. You're perfect, just like always." Johnny wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close.
'Lucky is never going to let me live this down but, I don't care." Lulu laughed into his chest, enjoying how he held her.
"We'll cross that bridge when we come to it, alright? I know you told me that your daughter was in a shooting? I can take care of both of you, I don't mind. It's entirely up to you." Johnny pulls back to look at her, unable to wipe the smile from his face.
"Is that what you want, Lulu?" Lulu immediately recognized her brother's voice, she slightly jumped.
"Lucky! What...what are you... doing, you know?" Lulu got frustrated with her words not coming out like she wanted them to.
"I heard from Maxie that Johnny was getting out today, I knew I couldn't stop you. You love him, I get it. I may not like it but, at least I can respect Johnny for how he treats you. Dante on the other hand...I really want to hurt him. I've witnessed Johnny take care of you first hand, who am I to stand in the way of you being happy?" Lucky gives his sister a half smile.
"Thank you. You're a...good... brother." Lulu forced out, a small smile curving onto her lips.
"Hi Johnny, I'm Charlotte." Charlotte gets out of the car, hobbling towards them on her crutches.
"Hi Charlotte, it's a pleasure to meet you." Johnny shook her hand.
"Mommy, I'd be willing to go with you. My home is wherever you are." Charlotte grasps her mother's hand.
"And my home is wherever you are." Lulu finally completed a full sentence, a trumphiant smile on her face.
"Come on girls, let me drive you home." Johnny holds the door open for both Charlotte and Lulu. Charlotte knew in her heart that Johnny would take care of both of them, this was all she wanted for her mother. Happiness.
