The snow was falling and covered all of Hope valley, it was Christmas Day and almost everyone's favourite time of the year. Lucas and Elizabeth were still fast asleep until Jack ran into the room and jumped on them.

"Daddy Lucas! Momma! Wake up it's Christmas!"

Lucas and Elizabeth chuckled and smiled at each other. Elizabeth ran her hand through Jacks hair, "Yes my sweet boy! Merry Christmas!"

"Presents?" He asked

"Yes we will go down and open presents." Lucas replied giving him a kiss on the head and then kissing Elizabeth's cheek.

After they fixed their selves up they made their way downstairs and joined Jack in getting their gifts. Jack had gotten a bunch of toys and clothes from Santa and Lucas and Elizabeth went splits on a nice new rocking horse that is a better and bigger size for Jack. Lucas and Elizabeth enjoyed their morning tea on the couch watching Jack open and play with his gifts. Rosemary and Lee also popped over with the baby and they all had breakfast together.

After Lee and Rosemary went home everyone started getting ready for church. Lucas snuck up behind Elizabeth who was sitting on the sofa waiting for her boys.

"Merry Christmas."

Lucas said holding out a small gift in his hand. Elizabeth went to grab the gift squeezing his hand as she did so. "I thought we agreed no presents."

"I couldn't help myself, unless it's something small nowhere near what you deserve." Elizabeth blushed at his statement.

"Well I have a gift for you too but later."

Lucas nodded and moved to sit beside her. "Open it" he whispered.

Elizabeth untied the ribbon and slowly separated the box and saw a beautiful locket that goes around her neck and she looked up to him. "Lucas! This is breathtaking!"

"Look inside." She brought the heart shaped locket to the palm of her hand and put her fingers on to open it and in the middle was a cute picture of Lucas and Jack.

"When did you take this?"

"A few weeks ago I stole Jack for a picture that Rosemary caught. I wanted this to be a surprise"

Elizabeth smiled more in love with this man than she could explain. "May I?" Lucas asked. Elizabeth moved her hair out of the way and Lucas clipped the necklace around her neck letting the locket hang loosely on her chest.

"I love it and I love you Lucas." Lucas glowed he was so happy.

"I love you too" she turned to face him and he put a finger to her jaw. They slowly moved to a passionate kiss that was soft and sweet.

They finally pulled away moments later when Jack came down, "Church time mama! Church time papa!"

Lucas pointed at the advent calendar that had one more day on it. Jack ran and grabbed it. Lucas picked Jack up on his lap and they opened it. "What's that papa?"

Lucas held the figure between his fingers and Elizabeth smiled seeing what it was. "It's baby Jesus."

Jack smiled. After a few moments he got down and shouted "Let's go let's go!"

They all laughed and grabbed little Jacks hand as they made their way to church. The service was good it always was and Lucas stayed back talking to Jospeh like he usually did and Rosemary went over to LJ and Elizabeth.

"Elizabeth! Are the rumours true that Lucas wants to become mayor of Hope valley!" Elizabeth gave a slight smile.

"Seems to be he wants something different he says."

"I mean he's owned the saloon so long maybe a change is good."

Elizabeth nodded, "All I want is for him to be happy"

"I know that and he will be when you give him his gift!" Elizabeth's face brightened it only took her weeks to finally get to tell him.

Jack played in the snow with Allie while people exchanged gifts and hung out, Rosemary and Lee were making pies for the dinner at the saloon tonight so them and Elizabeth who was making stuffing headed home early to prepare. Lucas stayed with Nathan watching Allie and little Jack build a snow man. "So what did you get Elizabeth for Christmas?" Nathan asked

"A locket with a picture of me and Jack or many other pictures to come." Lucas said staring off at the kids now making the last ball for the head of the snowman.

"That's awesome, sounds like the world is right."

"It very well is, what about you and Faith?"

Nathan paused for a second having a grin on his face. "Good, she's actually joining us at the town dinner tonight."

Lucas patted Nathan on the shoulder. "The world is good right now."

As they walked to join Allie and Jack Nathan asked, "So what about the whole mayor thing?"

"I'm gonna talk to Bill after the holidays but I am still up for it"

"You'll be a good mayor Bouchard." Lucas smiled and they started helping Allie and Jack finish the snowman.

Lucas and Jack returned home and got into warm clothes.

"Boys I made hot chocolate!" Elizabeth hollered as they were coming downstairs.

"Thank you darling." Lucas said taking his and putting Jacks on the table for him.

Elizabeth pulled her turkey soup off the burner to bring to the Christmas dinner in town. Lucas carried the soup while Jack and Elizabeth walked alongside him enjoying the cool weather and the snow that fell from the sky.

The dinner included pictures and a nice turkey and ham dinner with stuffing and potatoes. All the warm foods that made it feel like Christmas! Lucas and Elizabeth danced and so did the other couples. Even Nathan got a dance. They all spent the evening talking and laughing as a town, and a most importantly a family.

Lucas left everything as it was at the end of the night so he could return home with Elizabeth and Jack. He would clean tomorrow. Lucas carried Jack on his shoulder since he fell asleep and Elizabeth had her arms around the side of him.

"Somebody had a long day" Lucas mentioned.

"Yes but he had fun and that's what matters."

Lucas smiled to that, "I think we all did my love."

They got to the porch and Elizabeth opened the door so Lucas could go in. Lucas went upstairs and gently changed Jack into some pjs and then laid him in his bed to head back to sleep. It didn't take long till he drifted. Lucas joined Elizabeth back downstairs.

"This Christmas was very enjoyable" Lucas said joining his hand with Elizabeth's and his other hand on her lap.

"It's not over yet. I still have to give you my gift."

Lucas shifted his head to the side. "That's right you said you had something."

Elizabeth got up and returned with a rectangular box that was small but could have something mid sized in there.

"Open it." Elizabeth said.

Lucas to the box and took the cover off and then saw the gift tissue he took out as well. He picked up a small baby outfit and a knitted baby blanket out of it and held up the outfit first.

"Are you trying to tell me you're…"

Elizabeth blushed as a tear rolled down her eye and he immediately dropped the piece of clothing and wrapped his arms around Elizabeth. Now they were both in tears.

"Your gonna be a father to another little angel!"

"Elizabeth this is the best present I could ever ask for"

she kissed him deeply and ran her hand through his hair. He kissed her forehead. "Christmas miracles really do come true."

"And many more to come Mr Bouchard."

"Agreed Mrs Bouchard. And I love you very much" Elizabeth laid her head on his shoulder and joined hands again.

"I love you too deeply darling."
