After a good night's rest Ingo and Lincoln woke up refreshed and ready to head to the crimson mirelands, Lady sneasler decided to start behind this time and make sure that the highlands were safe. On their way out of the highlands they encountered Melli and his skunktank also on their way to the meeting.
"Hello warden Melli!" Ingo greeted
Melli turned around and saw the father son duo approaching "hello warden Ingo." Melli greeted in a rude tone while taking in Lincoln's new pearl clan outfit "I see you introduced Lincoln to Irida."
"yes I have!" Said Ingo "he is now apart of the pearl clan."
"I see that." Melli responded rudely "you do know that this meeting is for wardens only right?"
"actually lady Irida asked for Lincoln to attend the meeting." Ingo explained
"what why?!" Melli asked confused as to why the leader of the pearl clan would allow a child who wasn't a warden to attend a meeting for wardens.
"simple," Ingo began as they continued walking "Lincoln saw what we are going to be talking about at the meeting first hand."
"yea so I'm kinda have to talk about what I saw." Lincoln explained
"so you know why this meeting is taking place?" Asked Melli "I just received a message from sabi about a warden meeting being held in the mirelands."
sabi, warden to lord briavary was often used as a communicator of sorts due to being the warden to a noble who could move quickly and not having any grudges against the pearl clan she was often given letters about important meetings to give to wardens and the galaxy team.
"yes but you will find out at the meeting." Ingo answered "be careful we are now entering chimchar territory."
"chimchar?" Lincoln asked
"a very dangerous fire type pokemon." Melli explained "they love to fight and are very keen on testing their strength."
suddenly they heard a battle cry from beside them, they turn and see an alpha Chimchar looking for a fight.
"(YOU! HUMANS FIGHT ME!)" said the chimchar eyes glowing red as he pointed at them clearly in a crazed fighting state
"I think it wants fight." Ingo simply says
"REALLY WHAT TIPPED YOU OFF GENIUS?!?" Melli yells out while panicking
"well if it's a fight it wants it's gonna get it!" Lincoln says as he grabs havik's pokeball and throws it "Havik, Full speed ahead!"
havik comes out of the pokeball ready for a fight "(a chimchar? Good I've heard the strength of their evolved forms)" Havik states thrilled at the concept of a worthy opponent "(let's see if you have a similar strength!)"
"(NO MORE TALK! ONLY FIGHT!" The alpha Chimchar yells out still in its crazed state as it surrounds its fist with fire and attempts to punch havik
"havik! dodge and use wicked blow!" Lincoln shouted out havik easily dodged the fire punch and prepared the wicked blow.
"(SWEET DREAMS!)" Havik yelled as he landed the wicked blow directly in the chimchar face however it did nothing.
"(ok then how about THIS!)" as Havik grabbed the chimchar's shoulders and used iron head, but the chimchar didn't even react
"(Oh no...)" said havik as the chimchar began to laugh
"(HEHEHE! MY TURN!)" The chimchar yelled as he hit havik with a fire punch in the gut sending him flying
"Havik! Are you alright?!?" Lincoln yelled out worried for his friend
"I'm fine." Havik said "I still got this!"
"Ok use slash!" Lincoln shouts out
"(On it!)" havik yells back as he extends his claws and begins to charge at the chimchar "(I'll cut you to ribbons!)" as he goes for the attack the chimchar just grabs his arm and says "(YOU WEAK BYE BYE!)" As the alpha chimchar punches him in the gut again sending him flying once more
"Havik!" Lincoln shouts out
"(IM BORED! TIME FOR YOU TO GO NIGHT NIGHT!)" the chimchar says as he begins to spin while moving towards havik
(Weak?! Boring?!) Havik thinks to himself as the chimchar gets closer (no... I'm none of those things, I'm strong, not weak, I'm strong, not weak... I... AM... STRONG!)
"(I.. AM.. NOT... WEAK!!)" Havik yells out as he stops the chimchar in his tracks grabbing it by its arm
suddenly a blue light erupts from his body as his form begins to change getting bigger and bulkier
"(HUH?)" chimchar says while confused as he's being lifted up by the evolving Havik.
when the light dissipates Havik is Much taller than he was before, now towering over ingo with ease, his fur is brown and his claws are sharper, he looks at the chinchar he's holding "(so you think I'm boring?)" Havik asks while looking at the chimchar "(Well how's THIS for Boring!)"
he drops the alpha chimchar and punches it in the gut mid-air with wicked blow.
the blow knocks the chimchar out instantly and sends him flying like he did to Havik earlier.
seeing his chance Lincoln throws a Pokéball at the chimchar hitting it directly and with a puff of steam and a small firework the chimchar is caught.
Lincoln goes to not only get his new team member but to also congratulate havik
"Havik! You evolved!" Lincoln exclaimed
"(Yes! And I feel incredible!)" said Havik happily
"Lincoln!" Lincoln heard his father yell out, he turned and saw his father approaching while carrying an unconscious Melli who was covered in mud.
"woah what happened to him?" Lincoln asked his father
"when you sent out havik he panicked and accidentally ran into crogunk territory and got hit by a mud bomb" Ingo explained "so I had to grab him before he got himself killed."
just as Ingo finished explaining Melli began to stir awake.
"ugh what happene-" Melli began before seeing the newly evolved havik"AHH WE'RE GONNA DIE!"
"wait Melli my teddiursa evolved it's ok!" Lincoln explained
"R-Really?" Melli asked
"Yes we're all chill." Lincoln continued
"Ok." Melli said as he regained his composure "i guess I owe you thanks for saving me from that alpha chimchar."
He then turned to Ingo " and I guess I owe you thanks for saving me from those crogunk."
"you're welcome!" they both said in unison
"don't do that, it's creepy." Melli requested "now that the Chimchar is gone we can continue!"
"actually." Lincoln began as he showed them Chimchars pokeball "I caught it."
Ingo and Melli had 2 very different reactions.
"BRAVO!" Ingo congratulated
"YOU WHAT!?!" Melli yelled
"thanks dad!" Lincoln replied to Ingo
"Lincoln what made you think that was a good idea?!?" Melli continued "It clearly wanted us dead!"
Lincoln and Havik gave him an "are you serious right now?" look
"right?" Melli asked
"not quite, did it want to fight?, yes." Lincoln began "but from I what I heard it sounded like it just wanted worthy opponents to fight against."
"that makes sense." Ingo responded "When Chimchar evolves into becomes a fire/fighting type so it makes sense for a chimchar to want to battle worthy opponents."
"but what would've happened if it won?!" Melli argued
"it mostly likely would have spared us so we could get stronger." Ingo replied shutting down the diamond clan warden's argument
the diamond clan warden stuttered for a moment trying to find a way to argue but couldn't think of anything reasonable once he realized this he sighed and said "fine it can stay with him." Before turning to Lincoln "but you better you almighty sinnoh's gift to you to make sure it doesn't attack us."
"I'll talk to him after heals from the battle." Lincoln says as he returns havik to his pokeball, "but for now lets keep going!"
an hour later
"I think chimchar should be awake now" Lincoln said "so I'm gonna talk to him."
"ok but just a heads up if it looks at me funny I won't hesitate to have skunktank use sludge bomb on it." Melli said
"(if he tries to attack my friend he's gonna get it!)" Melli's skunktank stated
"i think he will be fine." Lincoln replied as he grabbed Chimchar's pokeball "now come on out!"
He threw the pokeball into the air as the ball opened sending out Chimchar.
"(Ok, who threw that wagon at me?)" chimchar groaned as he got up he looked around and saw the pokeball in the Lincoln's hand and put two and two together "(oh dear I'm so sorry if I hurt anyone!, I guess I haven't found any strong opponents in a while and it must've drove me nuts.)" he apologized as he put his hands together as he bowed his head.
(wow it's like a complete 180.) Lincoln thought before saying "it's fine everything worked out and now that you're apart of team you don't have to worry about not having anyone to fight."
"(really?)" the chimchar asked in disbelief as he thought to himself (never having to worry about not having anyone to fight, that's a dream come true!)
"yea, if you want to that is." Lincoln said as he thought to himself (weird that he hasn't brought up the fact I can understand him.)
"(is that even t even a question? Yes!)"Chimchar answered enthusiastically
"ok but first you need a nickname." Lincoln said
"(a nickname?)" Chimchar questioned before he began to think of one "(Macaque that's what I want to be called.)"
"ok macaque welcome to the team!" Lincoln said happily
"(thanks but can I go back into my pokeball I want to rest a little longer.)"
"sure thing buddy." Said Lincoln as he returned macaque to his pokeball as they got back to walking
"so what happened back there?" Melli questioned as he only heard half of the conversation
"macaque apologized for attacking us and he wanted to rest for a little while so I returned him to his pokeball." Lincoln answered
"it apologized?" Melli asked
"yea it didn't have any good opponents to battle and that kinda drove him nuts." Lincoln explained
"well now that's settled we are almost at the diamond clan settlement." Said Ingo
after a few more minutes of walking they reached the settlement, waiting for them there was Irida
"lady Irida." Ingo greeted the clan leader " I take it we're not late?"
"nope you guys arrived just in time." Irida stated "come now, everyone one is waiting In The meeting room."
as they entered the room Lincoln noticed both people and pokemon there, there was a young boy with a hat with a gem in it with a sliggoo by his side, there was a girl with black hair and a munchlax with her, there was an old woman with a backpack on and a bibarel next to her, there was a young red haired woman, there was a muscular man with bandages on his wrists and unknown cylinder object on his back, there was a woman with swim goggles around her neck with a growlithe beside her, there was a young girl with green hair and a winter hat, and finally for the unknown people there was a young man with blue, green and blonde hair with a leafeon next to him, Gaeric was also there sitting next to the boy with the sliggoo there was also 2 people wearing outfits with a "G" symbol on them one was a tall muscular woman with red hair the other other was a short man in a lab coat
the group took their seats with Melli sitting across from them.
"Ok everyone most of you are probably wondering why we are here." Irida began "we are here to talk about the issues involving alphas that we've been having recently, professor Laventon if you would." She gestured to the man in the lab coat.
"the survey corps have noticed a rise in alpha pokemon aggression and strength." Professor laventon began "and we are not sure of the cause at the moment, so we are trying to gather what we do know about what's happening."
"right luckily for us some of our wardens here have fought the stronger alpha pokemon." Irida continued "so let's start with the diamond clan, Adaman anything else to add before we start?"
the young man with multi coloured hair now known as adaman stood up "yea one thing who is he?" Adaman said as he pointed at Lincoln "he's not a warden so why is he here?"
"well Lincoln is here not only because he's fought multiple alphas and caught them." Irida explained with some of the wardens frowning when hearing the word caught "but also-" Irida tried to finish but was cut off by adaman "caught? Irida, we both know pokeballs confined Pokémon when they're meant to be free, warden Ingo I get why he uses them because he has a never before seen level of skill with pokeballs and he's from who knows where, but this is a just a random kid."
"if you would let me finish I could explain." Irida resumed annoyed that she got cut off by adaman "Lincoln here is also the adopted son of warden Ingo and he can speak to Pokémon as well." That got everybody's attention immediately.
"yea right." Adaman said under his breath
"moving on wardens of the diamond clan what were your encounters with the stronger alphas like." Irida resumed, at first no one moved until the red haired warden raised her hand
"yes arezu?" Irida asked
"well the alpha's don't care who their fighting." Arezu stated "because an alpha roserade attack lady liligant last week."
"so they're not targeting humans." Professor laventon said
"yea the alpha teddiursa we fought yesterday showed similar behaviour." Gaeric added on "Lincoln was there so he could probably give us an inside perspective on what it was thinking."
Everyone turned to Lincoln waiting for an answer
"well he said "let's see what you human trained. Pokemon can do" to my team when he noticed them" Lincoln explained "he was most likely on a power high looking for the strongest pokemon to fight."
"I see." Irida said
the meeting went on for about an hour with wardens telling their experiences with the alpha pokemon they encountered
"ok now that we gathered what you know we need to find out what's causing it."
"I have a theory." Melli said
"ok warden melli let's hear it." Said Irida while adaman rolled his eyes knowing Melli's reputation
"what someone or something is doing something that is causing the alpha pokemon to get stronger so almighty sinnoh brought warden Ingo and Lincoln to help us." Melli suggested
"Melli that is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard." Adaman said "if they were brought here by almighty sinnoh why does warden Ingo not have his memories and Lincoln wasn't even found here like Ingo was."
"actually I have amnesia too so I might've been brought here." Said Lincoln
"ok I have had enough! you maybe able to speak to Pokémon but you will never understand them." Adaman upset that Lincoln had corrected him
"let's put that to test then." Lincoln replied "battle me outside right now."
"very well leafeon let's go." Adaman said as they headed outside
"wait!" Irida tried to follow them out but stopped by Ingo
"let them battle it may be a good way for adaman release some anger." Ingo stated
"fine." Irida said begrudgingly as she sat back done to continue the discussion.
outside
"ok we're ready to wipe the floor with you." Adaman said as leafeon got into a fighting stance
"Icarus Full speed ahead!" Lincoln says as he sends out Icarus
"(Let's do this friend!)" Icarus says to Lincoln
"(friend? He stuffs you in a ball and you call him a friend?)" adaman's leafeon campion asked
"(yea! ,and no one is going to tell me otherwise)" Icarus responded
"(very well.)" the leafeon simply sighed
"ok leafeon use razor Leaf!" Adaman shouted as leafeon shot sharp leaves towards Icarus.
"Dodge and use moonblast! Lincoln yelled out as Icarus avoided the leaves and fired the attack
"leafeon dodge it and use tackle!" Adaman yelled out
leafeon jumped over the moonblast and tackled Icarus knocking him backwards Lincoln
"icarus are you ok?" Lincoln asked worried
"(I'm good!)" Icarus responded to his friend
"all right then use disarming voice!" Lincoln commanded
Icarus let out a small yell that sent a pink shockwave towards leafeon
"leafeon dodge!" Adaman yelled as he jumped in the air
"shoot it out of the sky with moonblast!" Lincoln yelled
"What!?" Adaman said in shocked as Icarus fire a moonblast hitting leafeon and knocking it out of the sky.
when leafeon landed however Icarus began to glow and in a burst of blue light began to evolve and his form began to change, when the light faded Icarus had lost the egg shell that was on its body but the pattern that was on the shell remained on his body which was a now a white rathe than a beige
Icarus had also grown a neck and a pair of tiny wings on his back which he began to use to fly off the ground a little.
"(all right I evolved!)" Icarus said excitedly "( i guess that means we're great friends!)"
"it does?" Lincoln asked
"(my mom used to say if I had a strong friendship with someone I would evolve.)" Icarus explained
"well I honoured that im your friend."
(what is he talking about?) Adaman thought to himself "Ok leafeon use razor leaf!"
leafeon threw more sharp leaves at Icarus which connected because he was talking to Lincoln but they didn't due much damage due to Icarus gaining the flying type
"(Hey we're in the middle of a conversation here!)" Icarus said angry that his conversation with Lincoln was being interrupted
Icarus began to flap his little wings sending sharp gusts of wind towards leafeon doing super effective damage and ending the battle
"(now where were we?)" Icarus asked turning to Lincoln
"Icarus, buddy you ended the battle." Lincoln replied dryly while pointing to the unconscious leafeon
"(oh.)" Icarus said surprised
adaman quickly tended to leafeon wounds as Lincoln approached
"so you feeling better now?" Lincoln asked as he returned Icarus to his pokeball
"yea I am." Adaman replied before standing up "I would like to apologize for how I acted back there, Melli kept saying how you were blessed by almighty sinnoh and I thought Irida would try and use that to prove that the pearl clan's almighty sinnoh was the true one."
"I see, I thought you were acting like that because I was pearl clan." Said Lincoln
"no, I respect the pearl clan for letting you in despite your features." Adaman explained referring to Lincoln's hair "they took a chance a they were rewarded with a strong and kind hearted person just like warden Ingo."
"thank you that means a lot to me." said Lincoln
"you're welcome." Adaman said "now let's back inside and-"
suddenly he was cut off by a pained cry from outside the settlement
"what was that?" Adaman asked
"its a Pokémon!, it sounds hurt we should go help it!" Lincoln exclaimed
"alright then let's go!" adaman said as they both went to where the cry came from.
when they arrived to the area, they saw a beat up alpha sliggoo with a gold shell
"whatever hurt it seems to be gone." Adaman said
"ok I'm gonna go help it." Lincoln said
luckily for him he kept berries just in case of an emergency.
"hey do you need help?" Lincoln asked the sliggoo as he approached
"(why do you care it's not like you can understand me.)" the sliggoo stated
"actually I can." Lincoln replied
"(wait really?)" the sliggoo asked
"yea but let's not focus on that now." Lincoln said as he pulled out a sitrus berry "let's focus on getting you healed."
the sliggoo ate the berries it was given and it's wounds began to heal
"so mind if I asked what happened?" Lincoln asked
"(well I had just evolved then all of a sudden I felt this urge to fight.)" the sliggoo explained "(so i picked a fight with a toxicroak... and lost, and after that I lost that urge fight.)"
(kinda like what happened with macaque.) Lincoln thought to himself "well you should be all better now."
"(thank you human but I do have a request.)" the sliggoo said
"what's the request?" Lincoln asked
"(do you think I could travel along with you? I've never left the mirelands before and I want to see more of the world.)" the sliggo requested
"sure, the more the merrier!" Lincoln answered as he pulled out a pokeball
"but first we need to give you a nickname, how does "rosey" sound?" Lincoln asked
"(I like it!)" the now named rosey said with enthusiasm
"great!" Lincoln said as he put the pokeball to her head as she went inside it.
after catching rosey Lincoln the turned towards adaman and said "there we go we solved that issue."
"did it want be caught?" Adaman asked
"yes she said that she wanted to see more of the world and wanted to come with me."Lincoln explained
"ok then?" Adaman said confused as to why a Pokemon would want to go into a pokeball "anyway we should head back to the settlement, everyone are probably waiting for us."
"alright then Full steam ahead!" Lincoln said as they started to make their way back.
however a carnivine then appeared and attacked, attempting to go after an adaman with the move power whip.
Lincoln's body reacted on instinct as he shoved adaman out of the way as he took the hit instead with the power whip cutting across his chest knocking him to the ground as he lost consciousness.
when he awoke Lincoln looked around he saw that he was in a medical tent with the old woman from the meeting there as well
"good you're awake, I wasn't sure if you were going to wake up at all." The old lady said
"where am I?" Lincoln asked
"you're in my medical tent it's here in case anyone gets injured in the mirelands." The old lady responded
"what happened?" Lincoln asked "I remember a carnivine and a pain across my chest."
"well after you fell unconscious adaman brought you to the settlement and explained what happened however the person in charge of medicine for the diamond clan was out trying to get some berries so they had to bring you here." The old lady explained
"wait how long was I out?" Lincoln asked
"about a day and a half" the old lady responded
"What!?" Lincoln exclaimed as he sat up then feeling a pain in his chest
"try not to move suddenly for a couple days." The old lady said "It was a nasty gash but i patched it up however there's nothing i can do about the scar it will leave behind"
Lincoln looked down and saw that his chest was wrapped in bandages, as he looked back up he asked: "can you get my dad please?"
"sure, I'll be right back." The old lady said as she left the tent
after she left Lincoln began to think to himself (I need to get stronger.) he thought (not just with Pokémon but physically as well.)
suddenly he heard his father and the old lady talking
" he's awake and he wants to see you." The old lady said
"thank you warden calaba." His father said
then Ingo entered the tent and quickly approached Lincoln
"Lincoln are alright?" Ingo asked concerned
"I'm fine dad." Lincoln answered
"don't scare me like that ever again." Ingo said to his son in a worried tone "i thought I lost you there."
"hey I'm not planning on it anytime soon." Lincoln said to his father
then warden calaba entered the tent once more
"warden Ingo." She began "your son should be alright to head back home, I would recommend he rest for a couple of days."
"alright then." Ingo said as he pulled out Lincoln's team out of his tattered jacket and gave them back to his son "adaman gave them to me after he brought you to the back to the settlement."
"thanks dad!" Lincoln said as he took back his team
"I also happened to notice one more pokeball, did you catch that one before you were attacked?" Ingo asked
"yea she's a sliggoo I nicknamed named rosey." Lincoln explained "she was injured, so we helped her and she asked to join my team."
"Bravo!" Ingo said "now let's get going."
Ingo helped Lincoln up and helped him get ready and they left the tent and outside waiting for them was adaman
"Lincoln!, I'm glad to see that you're awake! Adaman said "I would like to thank you for saving me from that carnivine, you really proved yourself back then and I'm glad that you are ok!"
"thanks adaman not just for that but for also taking me back to the settlement." Lincoln said
"hey you saved my life and you would've took me back if it were me who got hit." Adaman said
"yea I would've." Lincoln said rubbing the back of his head
"well then farewell lord adaman!" Ingo said as he and Lincoln left
"farewell Lincoln, farewell warden Ingo!" Adaman yelled to them
two weeks later lincoln recovered and began to train his body for the harshness of hisui
and then 3 months after that...
...the sky was ripped opened by a rift
