-Hogwarts, 1996-
Harry stared at the empty Quidditch stadium from the stands. He went outside after Headmaster Dumbledore showed him a memory where he went to an orphanage to meet Tom Riddle. It was his task as a Professor to explain to Tom about being a wizard and the magical school, Hogwarts.
'Just like how Hagrid did to me,' thought Harry. Through the conversation, he noticed something familiar in Tom's eyes. What's it…hope?
Did Tom thought there might be a distant relative in the wizarding world where he can live with instead coming back to the run-down orphanage?
'I hoped the same thing…but all my magical relatives are gone,' thought Harry, sadly. Just before leaving the memory, Harry could've sworn he saw Tom with a small smile.
Harry sighed, heavily before getting up from the stands and started heading back to the castle. He didn't want Snape finding him and take points away…along with a few detentions. Just as he was getting close to the castle, he heard something behind him.
Harry stopped and looked around to see anything suspicious, but there was nothing. He continued to look around for a few minutes before heading back to the castle.
However, he was face to face to a woman who had long ebony hair with golden highlights on her bangs, crimson tips at the ends of her hair and bright blue eyes. She was wearing a light blue dress with a black traveling coat and brown boots.
"Harry Potter, I presume?"
"Um, yes…and who are you? And how did you know me?" Harry asked, suspiciously.
"Ah, yes! Silly me. Please forgive me, Mr. Potter," she coughed, "Yuki Fudo, at your service. As for I know who you are, I saw you in my vision."
"V-Vision?! Are you a seer?" Harry asked.
Yuki scratched her cheek, "Something…like that…"
"I'm…getting this feeling that you can't tell me," Harry said as Yuki nodded, slowly, "Ok…can you at least tell me why you are here?"
Yuki pouted, "Can't someone have a nice quiet evening stroll?"
Quickly, Harry shook his head, "What?! No – I mean, well…um, of course! I mean, you can see I'm outside, right?"
Yuki laughed before assuring Harry it was a small joke. That's when Harry looked at her suspiciously, "How did you get through the barrier without the headmaster knowledge?"
"Mm – Oh! That's easy. The barrier is meant to protect the students from any dangers or if any invaders who wants to harm the students," explained Yuki before winking, "And I didn't came here to cause no harm whatsoever."
"Alright, then why are you here?" Harry asked.
"Right, first, why are you doing out here?" Yuki asked.
"…I…needed some fresh air to clear my thoughts," replied Harry, getting this strange feeling that he can trust this woman. He then turned his head a bit, "…is it possible to give someone a second chance after all the horrible things he has done?"
Yuki tilted her head, "Would this person be Tom Riddle aka Voldemort?"
Harry widened his eyes, "How-How…"
Yuki winked, "I have my ways Mr. Potter, but nevertheless, wasn't Riddle who killed your parents? Why do you want to give him a second chance?"
"The headmaster showed me a memory when he told Tom, he was a wizard," Harry sighed, "Just as Dumbledore was leaving…I looked back at Tom…and saw something familiar in his eyes…"
"And that's?" Yuki asked.
"…hope," replied Harry. He looked away from Yuki's face, "I know cause I had the same feeling when I learned about being a wizard," that's when he took a deep breath, "Tell me, can someone really be born evil?"
Yuki stared at the young man before grabbing Harry's hands. She grinned, "The magic sentence I was hoping to hear! Let's go!"
Suddenly, the two were engulfed by a bright light and when it dimmed down, they were at a remote beach location. Yuki let go of Harry who in shock, fell onto the sand.
"Wha – Where? Where did you take me?!" Harry demanded, taking out his wand.
Yuki stretched her arms, "Ah, put that away Harry. There's no need for that. Mm, the breeze…I forgot is so welcoming this time of year."
"You still haven't answered my question," said Harry still having his wand out.
"I don't want that old coot headmaster of yours interrupting me on what I'm about to tell you," replied Yuki, seriously.
Harry glared at her, "Don't you dare insult…"
Yuki held up her hand, "For your information, that double crosser is not who you think he is."
"Double crosser?! Wha – What's going on?!" Harry asked.
"Oh right, forgive me," Yuki sat across from Harry, "Better get comfortable. It's quite a bit of a story, but hear me out."
Harry sighed, putting away his wand, "Alright, go on."
"Well, you know how Hogwarts was founded, correct?" Yuki asked and Harry nodded. She then sighed, "But what you don't know or forgotten, is that during the founder's era, the witch trials were being to start. You know about the Salem Witch trials, correct?"
Harry nodded, "I read about it at my elementary school library…but I didn't know there were witch trials in Britain as well."
"There were," said Yuki, softly. "Which is why the founders allowed the muggleborns stay at Hogwarts to protect them from the muggles and their own families. The muggleborns and some halfbloods stayed, but it's sad because they could never see their families again."
"So, muggleborns became residents in the wizarding world," Harry then narrowed his eyes, "What did the purebloods thought about it?"
"They were glad to know that they don't have to hide any longer," replied Yuki.
Harry widened his eyes, "Wait – What?! But – But – I don't get it! The purebloods and Salazar Slytherin hates muggleborns!"
"Who told you that pathetic lie?!" Yuki snapped.
"L-Lie?" Harry said, sliding away a bit from Yuki.
Yuki rolled her eyes, "Obviously. A small village was about to burn a child for being a witch, but Salazar and Godric saved him. They took him to Hogwarts and stayed with the other orphan children wing until Helga and Salazar decided to blood adopt him."
Harry's mouth dropped, "S-Salazar…and Helga?! They were married?! And adopted the child?"
Yuki nodded while laughing upon seeing Harry's shocked face.
Harry took deep breaths until he calm down. "So, why did the history books say that Salazar hated the muggleborns?"
"It wasn't Salazar. It was his adopted son, Eldon," Yuki looked down at her hands, "He believed the muggles should pay for killing possible wizards and witches. He vowed to take revenge on the villagers," that's when she bite her lip, "Salazar…he thought it was his responsibility to stop him, but…he never returned, and the village was attacked."
"What…What happen to him?" Harry asked.
Yuki sighed, "They waited…and waited, but eventually Godric believed Salazar sided with his son and joined him. All went to the village to stop the attack, but when they got there, they couldn't find Salazar anywhere. Few days later, Rowena got a vision…about Salazar's disappearance…Eldon's right-hand witch, Alesia killed him before attacking the village and left him to die at a forest."
"K-Killed?!" Harry murmured, placing his hand over his head. "I…All this time, Salazar turned out to be good and never hated the muggleborns."
Yuki smiled, "If he truly hated the muggleborns, then he wouldn't have saved Rowena."
Harry's eyes widened, "Wait! Rowena Ravenclaw was – a muggleborn?!"
"That's right. During in his teens, Salazar learned about a young muggle girl who can perform quite powerful magic," replied Yuki.
"And her parents?" Harry asked.
"They were a bit uneasy, but when they saw her use the magic for good, they encourage her to keep practicing in secret," that's when Yuki frowned, "But unfortunately, the villagers found out and all agreed to kill them…they succeed killing her parents, but as they were about to kill Rowena, Salazar saved her just in time."
Harry placed his hand on his forehead, not believing what he just learned. But there's something that's still puzzling him. He looked at her, "How do you know all of this?"
Yuki stick out her tongue, "Well, isn't it obvious? I was there when it all happened. How long has it been? You lose track of time after living for so long."
"You-You were there?! How's that possible?" Harry asked in disbelief.
Yuki sighed, "I'm more than just a seer…I'm a vampire and the reason why I told you the founder's true history…in my vision, you change the past to a better future."
Harry's eyes widened, "V-Vampire? Wait! Me…change the past?! How?"
Yuki tapped her head, "I have quite a knowledge of different variety of magic…including time travel."
"T-Time travel?! Are you telling me we can go back in time?" Harry asked.
Yuki winked, "Well, it was in my vision. What do you say? Would you go back with me and give Tom Riddle Jr. a second chance? Give everyone…a second chance?"
"Give…Tom…everyone…a second chance?" Harry murmured before shaking his head. "If I – we go back in time, how can I raise a child if I'm a child myself?"
"It's common around that time for teens to be parents," Yuki smiled, "Besides, you'll make an excellent father to little Tommy."
Harry looked away. Him…raising and fathering the person who killed his parents? But then again, Tom will be an innocent child who wanted to be loved just like himself.
"Though…" Harry's thoughts were cut off, "There is a small catch."
"There's always a small catch," murmured Harry.
"You must change your bloodline. You can't be a Potter," said Yuki.
"Like a blood adoption? But why?" Harry asked.
"The moment something changes from the past, the future will be different, and this you will disappear," explained Yuki, seriously.
Harry sighed, "I see, but where am I going to get 'new' blood?"
Yuki summoned a knife and cut the palm of her hand. She offered the small knife to Harry, "If you accept, you're accepting the Fudo's bloodline including becoming a vampire. There's no turning back if you do this."
Harry in disbelief, stared at the small knife. Can he really change the future to a better one?
-Wool's Orphanage, 1930-
Mrs. Cole was a very tired woman, but she had a job to do. She was the caretaker for an orphanage that her husband had built, but sadly her husband was killed by some local gang while getting some supplies for the orphanage.
Today, she was looking through some paperwork when two people walked in. It was a well-dressed woman who looked around her late twenty's and a teen, maybe fresh out of high school.
Cole smiled, "Welcome to Wool's Orphanage, are you here to adopt?"
"Why, yes," said Yuki.
"Right this way," said Cole before looking over at Harry, "Young man, the children are outside and the younger children are taking their nap."
Harry simply nodded and watched the two woman enter another room before dashing upstairs. With Dumbledore's memory, he was looking for one certain room, Tom Riddle Jr.'s.
When he found it, he entered the room to see it wasn't so bad, compared to the one in Dumbledore's memory. The walls were slight blue, but some parts of the wall were fainting, a slight worn-out dresser, and a slight dirty bed which was being used by none other than, Tom.
Harry bend down, shaking Tom, "Come on, little one. Time to wake up."
Young Tom slowly started to wake up and rubbed his little blue eyes. He turned around and tilted his head, "Who you, sir?"
"I'll tell yea later, but right now we need to get out," Harry than pointed at the dresser, "Do you have anything to take with you?"
Tom shook his head, "No…I really don't have much sir."
"That's fine. Much less stuff to carry," said Harry as he picked up Tom. "Come on, I have someone waiting for us downstairs."
Tom flinched from being carried, but he had a small smile. 'Did…Has my wish came true? Am I getting…a daddy?' The child's thoughts stopped when he saw a pretty woman standing in front of the entrance.
"So, is everything taken care of?" Harry asked as Yuki simply smirked. He sighed, "Right, so where to first?"
Suddenly, Harry and Yuki heard some growling noise coming from Tom's stomach. The child blushed, "Sorry. I didn't have much to eat cause this big bully took my food."
"Well, the Leaky Cauldron then," said Yuki, looking around. Once everything looked clear, she smiled at Tom, "Right sweetie, hold on tight and don't let go. And don't worry, we'll explain everything to you soon."
Tom looked at her before nodding and tightening his hold to Harry.
"Now, we're going to apparate," said Yuki, but Harry had an annoyed face. She laughed, "I'm sorry, but it's the fastest way to travel."
Harry sighed, "Alright, let's just go."
Yuki placed her hand on Harry's shoulder and apparated to a dark alley that was close to the pub. She had to wait for Harry and Tom to recover from the side effect of side apparating.
"Honestly, it's like you two are related," murmured Yuki before taking out two vials of potions. She handed the potions to Harry, "Here. This will calm your stomachs. It's my own creation so there wouldn't have that god awful after taste."
Harry looked at the vial questionably before taking it. His eyes widened, "Oh wow! This is great!" That's when he opened the second vial and looked at Tom, "Here little one. This will make your stomach feel better."
Tom had his eyes closed, his mouth covered and whimpering as he wanted to throw up. He slowly opened his eyes and stared at the strange drink. The child looked at his new daddy who was giving him an encouraging smile. Not wanting his daddy to think he was bad, he took the strange drink and within seconds, the feeling of throwing up went away.
"Right, let's get something to eat," said Harry. Young Tom had a true smile as the three of them entered the pub.
While Yuki ordered the food, Harry looked for a table. Finding one, he placed Tom next to him and not soon after, Yuki returned with the food. While eating, Yuki and Harry, mostly Yuki explained to Tom about being a wizard and the wizarding world.
-Gringotts Wizarding Bank-
Yuki led Harry and Tom to a desk where an old goblin was busy working on counting the gold. "May the gold flow richly towards thy wealth and health," she greeted.
The goblin stopped working and looked down from where he was sitting. "Which witch speaks in thy language of old?"
Yuki lifted a bit of her hood, but only allow him to see. "It's been quite some time that I haven't seen you. You're stubborn as your father and grandfather before thy."
The goblin looked closely at her before widening his small eyes.
"It…can't be – you…you're alive, my Lady?"
Yuki held up her hand, "Please, can we discuss this somewhere…private. I don't want unwanted wizards listening on us."
"But of course, right away! Griphook, get over here!"
Harry noticed how young Griphook looked. 'He must've just started working here,' he thought.
"Griphook, take them to Room 3 – immediately!" the goblin ordered.
"Yes sir, if you please follow me," said Griphook, guiding Yuki and Harry to the room.
During the walk, Tom was curious and wanted to explore, but he knew he couldn't. It would be wrong and stupid as he could get easily lost in this unknown building. Not to mention this was no ordinary bank, but a magical one. Who knows what this place has in stock?
After a few hallways, they reached to Room 3 and entered to see another elder goblin inside. "My Lady, I'm so thrilled that you have finally returned," he said, happily.
Yuki completely took off her hood, "Come now Gringott. You know me since I was just a child so there's no need to be so formal."
'She knows him? How old are you, Yuki?' Harry wondered.
"Very well," Gringott looked around before frowning. "But thy brother and sister? All three of you disappeared a few days after that blasted war with the muggles. Where did you all hid?"
"I assure you that my younger siblings are safe and sound," replied Yuki. "But the reason why I have returned is my son, Harrison Salazar Slytherin-Fudo to take his place as Lord Slytherin and my grandson, Thomas Harrison Slytherin-Fudo to be the heir of the Noble house of Slytherin."
Harry's eyes widened, 'Wait! So, that means that her father was Salazar himself!'
Gringott's eyes widened before bowing his head, "It's an honor to meet the future rulers of the wizarding world."
'Future rulers?!' Harry thought in shock while Tom's eyes widened.
"Gringott, do you still have my parent's vault keys along with Aunt Rowena and Uncle Godric's?" Yuki asked.
"I do Yuki, do you want them back?"
Yuki nodded, "I promised them that I'll take care of their vaults after their passing."
"Of course, if you would just give me a moment."
The moment the goblin left the room, Harry gave Yuki a slight glare. "King?! What in Merlin's name did he meant by that Yuki?!"
"Sorry, but to be honest, would you believe a complete stranger, telling you that they are royal?" Yuki asked.
Harry was about to protest but stopped since he wouldn't believe she was royal. He frowned, "But Salazar wasn't royal and if Salazar was your father, how is it that your surname is Fudo?"
Yuki stuck out her tongue, "Phooey and here I thought you wouldn't noticed…fine…Salazar and Helga were my blood adopted parents. I was originally the last heiress to the royal Fudo family, Yuki Anya Fudo."
Harry's mouth dropped, "Well…that's um…a shock."
Yuki giggled before noticing that Tom has fallen asleep. She smiled, "Aw, looks like Thomas is a bit tired. We did interrupted his nap."
"I guess we did," murmured Harry before giving her a look. "But seriously, what's up changing our names?"
"Well, it's quite traditional for parents to name their children by renaming them after an elder," explained Yuki. "Middle names, parents use their own names, but only to the first-born male and female…sometimes."
Harry blinked a few times, "Well, that would explain a few people's names I know of."
"Quite, but way back then, two names were used to insure the protection of the child and it's been used since who knows how long," said Yuki as Gringott returned with a wooden box and placed it on the table.
When the goblin opened it, there lay four sets of vault keys. The first was red with a lion emblem, the second was blue with a raven emblem, the third was yellow with a badger emblem and the last one was green with a snake emblem.
"It's my greatest pleasure to finally hand them back to you Yuki and may your gold flow as like the spring of no 'morrow," said Gringott, bowing. "Now, is there anything else that I can do for you today?"
Yuki shook her head, "No, that will be all. I need to reclaim Slytherin manor and restore it to its former glory. The house elves have been neglected for all these years…I need to make sure they're alright."
"Very well," said Gringott.
Yuki placed her hood over her head and turned to Harry, "Shall we?"
Harry nodded before getting up and shifted Tom to his right. The two of them left the bank before Yuki grabbed Harry's arm and dragged him over to one of the clothing stores.
"Where are we going, Yuki?"
"Mother Harry, call me mother or mum as you're practically my son," Yuki winked. "And do you honestly think I'll allow you to be seen dress like that? Around this time, clothes tells everything about the person like their wealth, their status, etc."
Harry sighed, "I see. Well, might as well get some clothes for Tom too."
"Excellent! Now come on, we don't have all afternoon. We still need to head to Slytherin Manor," said Yuki as they entered the clothing store.
After two hours of measuring, fitting different fabrics and young Tom being the center of attention; Yuki apparated Harry and Tom to her old home, Slytherin Manor. The two stared at it with awe eyes.
"Bloody hell," said Harry. "This place is huge! Are you sure this is a manor and not a castle?"
"It's a manor. I lived in a castle, but I never like those unnecessary extra rooms. I prefer something like this, small and comfortable," said Yuki.
"You call this small?! This house is huge! I bet everyone at the orphanage can fit in here!" Tom said, pointing at the green and black manor. Yuki and Harry laughed at Tom's innocent comment before walking inside the manor.
Harry and Tom looked around in awe even though the entrance had faded walls, torn wallpaper, the stairs looked about to fall apart, etc.
"Incredible…needs a huge cleanup, but other than that it looks great," said Harry.
"Thank the house elves," said Yuki, placing her hand on the faded, torn walls. "Their magic and the connection to their master holds the structure of the manor."
"Really? I didn't know house elves' magic do that. I thought…" Harry remembering Dobby and his treatment from his former master, Lucius Malfoy.
"The history of the house elves and wizards was lost after some time," said Yuki as they entered a once elegant living room. "The respect to the elves was slowly replace to mistreatment, neglect, physical and mental abuse…but that wasn't mother's idea…"
"Helga Hufflepuff? What was her idea?" Harry asked.
"The elves' magic was strong, extraordinarily strong resulting an early death. Mother thought it would be best to bound the elves to a wizard to keep their magic in balance and live a longer life," explained Yuki as she replaced the worn-out couches to fresh dark green ones. She looked around, "I wonder – Zippy! Front and center!"
Harry and Tom flinched when Yuki shouted and within seconds, an old house elf appeared in the middle of them. She was wearing a very worn-out cloth that has the snake emblem on it.
"M-Mistress…Yuki? Is it really you, Mistress?"
Yuki smiled, "Yes, it is. Oh, please forgive me for not coming sooner."
Zippy jumped, "We understand! Please mistress, don't feel bad."
"We? So, everyone is alright then?" Yuki asked, hopefully.
"Oh, yes mistress! Everyone's fine, but…" Zippy tilted his head, "Who are they?"
"My son, Harrison and his son, Thomas. As for right now, the three of us will be staying here," replied Yuki.
Zippy jumped, happily, "Oh, wonderful! What do you need?"
"First thing first, I need to reclaim this manor so would you please step forward," instructed Yuki.
Harry and Tom watched Yuki placed her hand on the elf's head and a bright light surrounded Yuki and Zippy. After the light dimmed, Zippy looked a bit younger and his cloth was completely new.
"Now, please tell Missy and Cider to make a light supper for three people," ordered Yuki.
"Right away, Mistress Yuki!" Zippy said before disapparating.
"Same old Zippy…well, at least the manor is starting to look better now," said Yuki.
"Oh, wow! Gran is right!" Tom said as the worn-out, faded walls became elegant once again with silver snakes and plant designs.
"Since my magical core is quite powerful, it strengthened the house elves' magic who are bond to the manor and slowly restored the place to its former glory," explained Yuki as the fireplace was slowly being restored.
"I have a lot to learn about magic," murmured Harry before his eyes widened, "Yu – I mean mum, can I enroll into Hogwarts and continue my sixth year?"
"Mm, no and yes," replied Yuki.
"Great – wait, what? But how…" Harry started but Yuki stopped him.
"No, you'll not be enrolling in Hogwarts, but rather I'll be continuing your education…the same way how the four founders taught me," said Yuki.
Harry stood there, speechless.
Yuki giggled, "Judging by your face, you agree, correct?"
Harry shook his head and sheepishly, nodded. "Y-Yea, this…this is going to be brilliant – wait! What about Tom? He's young to go to preschool."
"Leave everything to me, Harry but for now, I'm starving – Missy!" said Yuki as another house elf appeared who hugged her legs, immediately. She shook her head, "Yes, Missy. I'm back so let me go, and see if our super is ready, yet?"
"Oh, what great news! Oh, joyful day indeed! And yes, food is ready. Will you be eating here or at the diner room, mistress?"
"Here's fine. Can you and Cider bring some bed sheets? My family and I will be sleeping here for the night until the manor is restored," said Yuki.
The elf tilted her head before glancing behind Yuki to see Harry and Tom. She squealed in joy, "You've brought a young master and a little master as well! What a delightful day it is! Cider and I will bring the bed sheets right away and your food!"
When the house elf disapparated, Harry laughed. "Hermione and Ron wouldn't believe me if I told them that Salazar was a great wizard and treated the house elves with profound respect."
"You don't know the half of it," said Yuki as the three house elves appeared with food and placed it on the small table. The small family started eating their meal before getting ready for the task in hand on what changes they must make for a better future.
