Author's Note: I bring you this chapter after I said I would upload in a couple days. It's longer and a bit fluffy with bits of humor, maybe a couple misspelling or OOC-ness. That's the good news. The bad news is that it might take me longer to upload another chapter since I'll be going back and forth between stories. I just hope with all hope that it's before the snow melts LoL. A New Day
Morning came and with it the first sunlight of the day. Naruto groaned, turning away from the light and covered his head with a pillow. His bedmate shifted in his sleep before opening his eyes to a pillow instead of a head full of blonde hair. Blinking for a moment to clear the fog, Sasuke rubbed his eyes and yawned, stretching the kinks out and sat up, shaking Naruto.
"Get up dobe, we're working today" Naruto groaned again and peaked out from underneath the pillow.
"You know he'll be late again"
"Yeah but we can train this morning until then, now get up" Taking the pillow from Naruto, Sasuke got up and tossed it somewhere in the room.
"So mean" could be heard mumbling that got a head shake from Sasuke on his way to the bathroom.
Facilities used, hands and face washed and dried, Sasuke walked out only to slip by Naruto as he sleep walked to the bathroom. Leaving him to his business, Sasuke looked around the kitchen in search of what to make for breakfast and settled on fruit and juice for now. Slicing an apple and an orange and splitting each onto 2 plates did Sasuke move to make the juice when he heard the door to the bath room open. Naruto came out refreshed but still gave a yawn and one last stretched before coming to the kitchen.
"Thanks" he said picking up a plate and went to the table. Sasuke grunted in response as he poured himself a glass and took his own plate to the table. A comfortable silence the boys sat in, munching on their fruit and Sasuke sipping his juice in which Naruto just noticed.
"Hey, where's my juice?" Sasuke shrugged.
"Hmm" Sasuke failed to look up from that little noise and didn't get a chance to see a smirk.
Silence once again and Sasuke is happy that Naruto didn't make a big deal over a glass of juice. Picking up his cup to take a sip, he noticed that came out and looks to see that indeed nothing is in there, it's totally empty and when Sasuke looked up from his cup Naruto is already heading back to the room with a very smug look on his face.
Hands behind his back, nose in the air and a smile. Then suddenly Naruto turns to Sasuke and sticks his tongue out.
"Naruto!" laughter could be heard.
OOOOO
Shorts, short sleeve shirt and weights on, Naruto's ready for their morning workout and called out to Sasuke.
"You're burning daylight you know" Someone scoffing could be heard as the door to the bathroom opens.
"Then let's go" and heads to the door, Naruto following and locked the door when it closed.
"Got your weights on?" a grunt is his answer
"Okay…"
Naruto looked over the railing and got hit with a memory from a month ago that gave him a great idea.
"What you wait-" Sasuke didn't get a chance to finish that sentence when he got roughly pulled and went flying through the air…on a laughing Naruto's back. Landing on a roof top, Naruto didn't waste any time in running across them at top speed. Sasuke, realizing his position, wrapped his arms around Naruto's shoulder and neck, holding on while watching the scenery pass by quickly.
Soon he and Naruto are sailing through the air again when Naruto jumped from one of the roof tops. It being a chakra powered jump, they flew high in the air, as high as the tree tops and Sasuke was impressed. As suddenly as they flew high did they begin descending back down.
One would be nervous on seeing this, questioning the ability of the jumper.
Not Sasuke. He trusts Naruto and so attached himself to Naruto's back and squeezed his shoulders as he closed his eyes. Naruto, having felt the gesture, turned his head slightly to see a relaxed Sasuke on his back and that hit him with a warm feeling in his chest. Shaking his head to clear the feelings away, Naruto chakra lined his feet to cushion the landing on a tree branch. Sasuke stayed the way he is, enjoying the closeness for a minute before slowly getting off of Naruto's back. Naruto turned when Sasuke got off his back and they stared at each other, not saying a word, just staring. Sasuke gave the smallest, faintest smile and Naruto laughed before flipping off the high tree branch unsuspectingly.
"Hey!?" Sasuke tried to reach out and grab his falling teammate but stopped when he sees that Naruto is doing flips and rolls and turns on his way down instead.
Naruto landed on his hands and cheered his successful landing. Flipping backwards and onto his feet, Naruto fist pumped the air and boosted to Sasuke high up on the branch.
"I did it, I did it! Nothing broke, nothing hurts and I did it!" Running around in circles in excitement, Naruto laughed and whooped.
"You're Nuts Naruto! Who lands on their hands and doesn't get hurt? Nobody" Crossing his arms over his chest like he knew the answers to everything but Naruto knows otherwise.
"Roxanne has, can and did. I've seen it" Sasuke looked down at Naruto, to see if he's lying but tossed that thought away, Naruto couldn't lie to save himself.
"Exact same tree, exact same branch. Different flips, twist and turns, and each time: lands in a different way but always on her feet or hands. Well once on both. Try it" Gesturing for the boy in the tree to fall off in a fancy fashion as he himself did and leaned against the base of the tree, smiling up wards.
"Burning daylight you know" Naruto called up.
"Very original" Sasuke scoffs with a snicker from the blonde. Seconds pass…
"Want me to cheer for you" Naruto said with mild contained mirth.
"Why, you going to wear a skirt and pompoms with your hair in ribbons" Laughter at ground level, Sasuke smirked and jumped off with a sideways flip. Twist midair twice and landing in a crouch in front of a smiling Naruto.
"You know" Naruto pushed off the tree he's leaning on and wiped a tear "Me as me won't make a good cheerleader" Sasuke stood.
"Don't tell me you are still doing that jutsu" Naruto pouted
"Why not, it's a great jutsu"
"Not if Sakura saw it near me, she'll knock your teeth out" Naruto paled, having forgotten about Sakura and her freakish strength but waved it away.
"Still, I improved it. I bet it'd work on a mission outside of the village" Naruto began stretching
"How is it 'improved'?" Sasuke followed.
"Watch" and Naruto poofed to be replaced by a girl.
"What am I supposed to see?" Sasuke asked while still stretching
"One: I'm actually clothed instead of being naked with clouds to hide my parts" waving the puff of smoke away so Sasuke could see that Naruto is indeed clothed in a tight shirt with a lot of cleavage and short so her stomach is showing, and tight little short shorts. Hair that is usually in pig tails is now flowing free and reaches her mid back.
"Hmm. Could work as an undercover" Poof and Naruto's back "You ever thought about changing the hair color?"
"Why, everyone knows that blondes are the best"
"Says who?"
"Everyone"
"Because you yourself are blonde, right"
"…Whatever man, lets jog" Sasuke smirked.
"So how many times?"
"Around the village? Guess that depends on you. If you start to feel dizzy, light headed, nauseous then let me know and we'll stop"
"Did you get dizzy the first time?" Sasuke asked
"Light headed and breathing hard but overall ok" Naruto started with Sasuke by his side "Went twice around the village with the weights you're wearing now"
"Hn. I can do that"
OOOOO
1.5 miles marks the spot before Sasuke collapse. Well not collapse per say, more like he stopped and sat, hard.
Naruto's still jogging in place next to a heavily breathing teammate.
"Come on, ½ mile to go then we're done" He got a glare for his troubles.
Naruto sighed and stopped, walking over to low nearby bush and tossed a water bottle to the dark haired heavy breather. Catching and uncapping the bottle, Sasuke took a long pull of the cool liquid as Naruto sat down beside him and drank from his own bottle. It took a couple minutes but Sasuke caught his breath and finished off the water. Looking at the empty bottle Sasuke turned to Naruto and asked:
"Where you'd get the water from, you didn't grab any when we left" Shaking the empty at the blonde, Naruto smiled and shook his half at Sasuke.
"Roxanne. She made a seal under a couple of bushes one day when we forgot to grab water. She was pissed about forgetting and after buying some, it clicked: a sealing jutsu that contains a supply of water bottles in a few places around the village so if we forget again we'll have some handy. She showed me the ones near the wall so if she wasn't around then it won't be a problem" Finishing his bottle and tossed it in a nearby bin.
"Score!" He stood up. Sasuke smirked and tossed his with one hand into the bin; it bounced once then went in.
"Uchiha scores, the crowd goes wild" Imitates a crowd screaming and runs around Sasuke, who watched with amusement and stands.
"Uchiha single handedly won the world championship" Jumps on Sasuke's back and shakes his shoulders in mock excitement but the laughter is genuine.
"How does it feel to be the youngest on the team to win the whole game without any help, Uchiha" Pretending to hold a microphone to Sasuke as he held on with an arm around Sasuke's neck, Naruto asked in a reporter like voice. Sasuke, holding Naruto up on his back, smiled and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Well, I'll tell you one thing: I couldn't have done it all on my own. I had help from my good friend Naruto Uzamaki. Without him, I be lost with the game"
Naruto stopped, smile gone along with the laughter. Sasuke's brows furrowed in confusion at the sudden change in Naruto's behavior.
"Sasuke shouldn't lie about things like that" Naruto said quietly.
"Sasuke doesn't lie about things like that" Sasuke said lightly squeezing a leg to assure Naruto in his words.
"Really?"
"Really"
"We're friends?"
"Good friends. I wouldn't sleep with just anyone if we weren't friends" Sasuke smirked, teasing the blonde. Naruto blushed so hard that he hid his face in between Sasuke's neck and shoulders, wrapping his arms around said neck and Sasuke felt the warmth.
"Sasuke shouldn't tease Naruto" Naruto mumbled. Sasuke tighten his hold on the blondes' legs and started walking.
"Sasuke likes to tease Naruto because it's cute" He admitted to the blonde attached to his back. A smile on his face and a small skip in his steps, Sasuke walked back to the village.
Unbeknownst to the boys, a pair of eyes watched and saw the whole interaction and said eyes shined in amusement.

When Naruto finally lifted his head from burrowing in Sasuke's neck, he tapped a shoulder and without being told Sasuke stopped and let Naruto down. Turning to the blonde, Sasuke could see that Naruto avoided eye contact and still had a small blush on his cheeks. Sasuke smiled a little before wrapping his arms around Naruto's waist and nuzzling his neck, breathing in the scent that is there.
"I mean it…Naruto. We are good friends" and tighten his hold.
Naruto stiffen at first contact, heard what Sasuke said and a lump formed in his throat, lip trembled and tears appeared at what Sasuke said. Whimpering, Naruto wrapped his arms around Sasuke's neck and his tears fell, wetting the dark hair's shirt but Sasuke didn't care, he wouldn't have it any other way. He meant what he said.
They stood in the deserted sidewalk outside Naruto's building early in the morning; one giving the other comfort. When the sniffling quiet down, Sasuke let go and wiped the tears from Naruto's face. Naruto gave a small smile in thanks and lead the way upstairs to the apartment in silence but a comfortable one.
Eyes watched from a distance, filled with unshed tears at the tender moment.
Back in the apartment, Sasuke let Naruto go first and lightly pushed the blonde to the bathroom when he started to protest because Sasuke is the guest and the guest should have first dibs on the shower.
"I will not take no for an answer, now go" Sasuke said and closes the door.
Once he hears the shower on, Sasuke went to the bedroom and picked out Naruto's clothes from his closet. Bringing the items to the bathroom door, Sasuke knocks:
"Got your clothes, can I come in?"
"Yeah" the door opens.
"I'll put them on the seat"
"Okay" came the quiet answer just as the door closed after Sasuke.
Heading back in the bedroom, Sasuke went to his clean folded clothes and picked out his own clothes. Setting them on the bed, Sasuke sat down and fell back on the bed with his hands behind his head and waited for his turn to come.
"Hey" a voice called out close by and Sasuke open his eyes to see Naruto toweling his hair and fully dressed.
"Shower's free, I made sure to save some hot water for you and put out extra towels" Sasuke gave his thanks, stretched and took his bundle of clothes with him.
"Breakfast?" Naruto asked and Sasuke nodded, closing the door behind him.
Tossing the towel on the bed, Naruto went to the kitchen to see what's left to cook since he really needed to go shopping today. Opening the fridge door, and expecting it to be almost empty, Naruto's jaw dropped at the sight of it: completely full. Shaking the shock off, Naruto went to the cupboards and opens them to find that they too are full. Scratching his head in confusion, Naruto shrugged the thought away and started on breakfast.
The aroma of breakfast crept in the bathroom that made Sasuke's stomach rumble in hunger. Dry and dressed, Sasuke tossed the towels in the hamper and headed out to the kitchen.
"Great timing, I'm done" Taking his plate to the table where napkins are laid out and a pitcher of juice is waiting. Naruto gestured to another plate filled with eggs, bacon, hash brown and toast for Sasuke.
"Where you'd get the food from? There was practically nothing this morning before we left" Sasuke asked, picking up his plate and sat down across from Naruto, pouring juice.
"Funny thing. The fridge is full, even the cupboards" Sasuke raised a brow at that
"And you think stuff like that happening isn't weird?" Naruto shook his head.
"Why look a gift horse in the mouth, got free food, that's all that matters" Sasuke sighs but said nothing more. The only sounds after that are clinking of utensils and cups being lifted.
Once breakfast is done, each washed and dried his own plate and cup, tidying up and got ready for the day. Head bands tied, weapon's pouch full and leg holster attached.
"What you think we'll be doing today?" Naruto asks as he grabs his keys from the nightstand.
"Dunno. We'll know when he shows up"
"Then let's go, don't want to anger Sakura in waiting too long" Opening the door for Sasuke and followed, but bumped into Sasuke's back instead.
"The heck Sasuke, move!" tried pushing the unyielding back but Sasuke won't budge. Looking over Sasuke's shoulder to see what has Sasuke in a standstill and his eyes widen at what's in front of them.
"Morning boys"

Roxanne leaned against the wall across from Naruto's door looking like she went through hell and back. Bags under her eyes, attire stained and dirty, dried blood speckled her right arm but all in all, she smiled like none of it mattered. Naruto, being the first to recover from the shock, tried to get pass Sasuke who refused to move. Growling in annoyance, Naruto stepped back and leaped over Sasuke, rolled when he landed. Standing again, Naruto ran to Roxanne and engulfed her in a hug that she happily returned with a content sigh.
"Where you been?" Sasuke asks from his position by the door.
"I had to go through one more thing before they made it official"
Naruto let go and stepped back, letting Roxanne lean back against the wall.
"Make what official"
"I'll be assign a Jonin" Roxanne smiled
"What?" Came from 2 sides but Roxanne is too happy and too tired to care about the volume of it and so waved a hand.
"They are going to assign a Jonin to me in a 2 man cell. I don't know if it has been done before but it means that I am now officially a Genin" Naruto laughed and hugged Roxanne. Sasuke stepped closer to the two.
"When do you start?" Sasuke asks as he laid a hand on her arm. Roxanne smiled at him.
"Maybe later, maybe tomorrow, I don't know but glad they told me to go home and sleep. I figure that if I'm going to be dead asleep from the rest of the world, it's only fair to see the boys before they head out" Running a hand through her hair and yawned, Roxanne gave both boys a tired smile and stepped off the wall. Cupping Naruto's cheek, his tainting red from the contact, Roxanne kissed the corner of his lips and whispered in his ear.
"Patience"
Turning to Sasuke, she cupped his cheek and kissed the same place she did Naruto and whispered.
"Teamwork"
Walking away, Roxanne waved backed and left the boys blushing red behind her as she went to the stairs.
Sasuke touched his cheek just as Naruto did and they both turned to each other.
"Let's go" Sasuke said and quickly turned to hide a smile on his face. Naruto nodded and smiled.

Coming to the meeting place that Kakashi told them to go to yesterday, the boys see Sakura asleep, leaning against the railing and not wanting to feel her wrath, let her be. Quietly they went to the other end of the bridge and sat down, waiting on their sensei.
After a sigh, a poof, Kakashi showed up. About to speak, Kakashi looked to the other end to see something pink snoozing, he turned to the boys and asked.
"Why didn't you wake her up?" Both boys scoffed.
"Would you wake a sleeping bear" Silence.
"Hmm" a quick hand sign and a clone appeared. The clone walked over and was about to shake a shoulder when a fist shot out to its face but luckily the clone caught it.
"Sakura" Opening her eyes and seeing a Kakashi clone kneel in front of her while the real Kakashi stood behind it, Sakura blinked.
"Kakashi sensei?" Taking her hand back and rubbing the sleep away from her eyes, Sakura looked up again as her vision cleared and when it did, she glared.
"You're late, Kakashi sensei!" standing and dusting herself off, Sakura looked up to see 3 pairs of eyes watching and one of them is Sasuke, so Sakura ran up to him
"Oh Morning" she blushes "When did you get here Sasuke-kun"
Sasuke shrugs
"Good Morning Sakura-chan" Naruto waved.
"Morning Naruto, when did you guys get here" Sakura asked, giving a small wave and yawning.
"Not long, just before Kakashi showed up. Speaking of which, what's your excuse today Kakashi-sensei? A black cat crossed your path so you took the long way" Naruto
"Or you helped a damsel in distress from getting eaten by a dragon" Sakura
"Or you just couldn't stop yourself from turning that page from your book" Sasuke
"Hey that's a good one Sasuke-teme, maybe he started over again and went straight to the good parts" Naruto used air quotes.
"Why would he do that?" Sakura asked scratching her head.
The 3 came up with more elaborate excuses for their sensei and didn't see a sweat drop from his brow.
'These kids are idiots' Bringing a hand to his temple, Kakashi spoke;
"Anyways, we get a couple missions today, all D classed" The boys stood up, ready.
"No comments?" all shook their heads in decline "Ok. Let's go" Leading the way at a leisure pace.
"Somethings simple first then I'll introduce you to Tiger" the kids looked at each other and mouthed 'Tiger'
OOOOO
Pulling weeds from an Old lady's garden was not expected but was accepted as a mission, no matter how relaxing it is. The 3 Genin split up without being told to and Kakashi supervised, without his nose in his book that had Naruto quietly snickering and Sasuke smirking. Looking around the area, Kakashi spoke.
"Got some news today that might surprise you guys" Sakura was the only one to look up.
"What kind of news, Kakashi-sensei" Sakura asked while the boys remained silent and kept working.
"Your classmate, Roxanne, got assigned to a Jonin in a 2 man cell" Sakura gasped.
"They can do that?" and looked to where Sasuke is still pulling weeds with a dreamy gaze and the possibility that they can be a 2 man cell.
"Normally no" the dream is squashed "But I guess since there was an odd number of students that passed and she being the odd one out, I guess that she was the exception"
"Huh" Sakura questioned
"All the Genin that passed were issued a Jonin that was ready to lead a 4 man squad and since only 9 passed and got issued a Jonin, I assumed Roxanne got sent back to the academy. Color me surprised when there was excited chatter in the break room about 1 Genin and 1 Jonin in a squad" Kakashi eyed the boys who are still pulling weeds but are listening.
"When I asked who they are talking about and they told me, I had to stop for a moment because for a long as I have been a shinobi, I've never heard of a thing like that. Plus the Jonin assigned was one of the ones whose students were sent back to the academy and he was miffed about it. Looks like he has his squad now" Still watching the boys "To get the Hokage to change the rules and accept this 2 man squad: she must be pretty unique to pull off something like that"
The boys stopped their movement and looked up to their sensei who had turned his head to look elsewhere. Naruto and Sasuke turned to each other and smiled.
"Yeah" Naruto looked up while Sasuke continued on the work "Yeah she really is"
Kakashi looked back to a smiling Naruto as he went back to work.
"Hmm"
