I don't own Harry Potter minus my OCs, enjoy.

In the morning, Harry and his roommates were up and got ready for their first day of class. In the common room, Harry could see an annoyed Roni.

"Right, I'll be showing you all how to get to the Great hall. Then me, the other Prefect, Head Girl and Head Boy will help you out on how to get to your first class. If there are no questions, let's get going."

Harry and Roni followed the Prefect out of the common room and headed to the Great hall. Harry paid attention to the hallways so he wouldn't get lost getting back to the common room. Knowing Roni, she wasn't paying attention, but rather the food she was going to eat.

'I'm surprised that she's not fat. Where is that food going to?' he thought.

Upon entering the Great hall, Harry and the first year Gryffindors were surprised to see that the four large table were gone and instead were multiple round tables.

"As you can see, you will be able to sit with other students from different houses. But in special events or holidays, the students are required to sit with their house."

The first year Gryffindors smiled before walking to some of the round tables.

Harry and Roni walked to a table that had Hermione alone. He sat next to her while Roni sat by Harry's left. Harry smiled, "Morning Hermione, nervous?"

"A-A bit," replied the brunette before looking over her bag. "I'm sure I have everything…"

Harry stopped her, "Relax. No need to worry in the first day."

"Oh, right," murmured Hermione, blushing.

"Oi, morning everyone," greeted Draco, sitting next to Hermione. He offered his hand, "Draco Malfoy, nice to meet you."

"Hermione Granger, pleasure to meet you. So, um…you know Harry?"

"He and Roni are related to me through the Black family," replied Draco as Skylar sat next to him. "And this is my godbrother, Skylar."

"Are all wizards related in some way?" Hermione asked.

Skylar nodded, "In a way. Don't worry, you'll learn about it soon. Wizarding Studies wouldn't start until next month for muggleborns."

"Oh," said Hermione before two teenagers tackled Roni from behind. One was a girl with long dark orange hair and light brown eyes while the other was a boy with messy dark brown hair with slight orange highlights and brown eyes.

"Yay, Ronnie is finally here!" said the girl, happily.

"Morning Ronda," said the boy.

Roni pushed them away, "Knock it off, buggers!"

"Aw, little Ronnie doesn't want us around," pouted the girl.

"Now, don't be like that Ronda. I know you're not a morning person, but that doesn't mean you should be like that," said the boy. "Morning Skylar, Draco and Harry. Who's your new friend?"

"Hermione Granger, first year muggleborn if I'm correct," the girl grinned, "Remember me? I'm Bertie. We met in the common room."

"Oh! Yes! I didn't know you know Harry," said Hermoine. "And…you're related to Weasley?"

"Ronda's mother is our aunt. I'm Leonard, Leon for short."

Suddenly, parchments appeared in front of Harry and his friends.

"Looks like your class schedules have appeared. Better have it memorized. Come on, Bertie, let's go. See ya later," said Leon.

"Bye-Bye little cousin," sang Bertie before following her twin cousin.

"How can someone be that hyper this early in the morning?" Roni murmured, yawning. Harry and Skylar shook their heads before all of them looked at their timesheets.

"Bloody hell, history for our first class…just kill me, just kill me now," murmured Roni.

"Drama queen," murmured Draco and Skylar before all of them went off to their classes.

The classes were interesting to say the least.

History of Magic was taught by Remus Lupin. In their first lesson, Remus with Merlin's portrait talked about how magic started to show within the first muggleborns witches and wizards. Although, Remus had to slam a book onto his desk as Roni and a few other students were going to sleep.

Martial Arts was taught by Regulus Black. In their lesson, Regulus informed them on how he was going to teach them on how to fight without magic. "There will be times that you'll find yourself without a wand, so you need to learn how to defend yourself without it," he said.

Defense against the Dark Arts or DADA was taught by Salazar Slytherin-Fudo. The moment the students took their seats, he shouted "Constant vigilance! Here, you will learn how to defend yourselves against wizards to any creatures. And like what my mentor says, 'Never give your full trust to someone who holds a wand', got it?!"

Herbology was taught by Pomona Sprout. The moment she said that they will be doing some work, most girls didn't want to touch the plants so most plan on pairing with the boys.

Charms was taught by Filius Flitwick which was quite…interesting. Somehow in their first lesson, Seamus caused an explosion when they were trying to cast the Lumos charm. It caused the small half goblin to fall from his deck while the students started to laugh, mostly the boys.

World History was taught by Petunia Black nee Evans. She began lecture about the beginning of muggles and the start of the Stone Ages. Neville was quite fascinated about the early use of herbs even though it was used wrongly.

Transfiguration, Harry couldn't wait to see how his father teaches, but upon entering the room, next to his father was an elder man.

"Afternoon students, let me introduce you to my assistant, Professor Percival Phoenix. He'll be teaching the first years to third years while I'll be teaching fourth years to seventh years."

Harry, Draco, Skylar and Roni were confused.

"The Aurors require my assistance for a while. There will be some days that I'll be here half a day or not at all. So, in my absence, Professor Phoenix will be teaching you. Any questions?"

The students shook their heads.

"Right, let's start the first chapter," said James, looking around. "Who wants to read first?"

After reading the chapter, James and Percival passed down toothpicks to the students to see if they could transform it into a needle. Harry and Draco teamed up, Roni teamed up with Hermione and Skylar teamed up with Neville.

Harry and Draco re-read how to focus their magic onto changing their toothpick, but they were having a little trouble. After a few tries, Harry was able to transform his toothpick into a silver, but a dull needle while Draco was able to transform his into a pointy needle but was a brown color.

"Is…it still wood…or metal?" Harry asked.

"I have no bloody idea Harry," replied Draco.

That's when James and Percival walked over to them. James picked up their needles, "Not bad boys. Try to stay calm while casting the spell, got it?"

Harry and Draco nodded.

"Ten points to Gryffindor and Slytherin. Keep up the good work," praised James.

Harry and Draco grinned before Harry noticed the small glare that Percival was giving to both. That's when he felt a slight pain in his head.

"Oi, are you alright?" Draco whispered, seeing Harry winced.

"Y-Yea…just a little light headache," replied Harry, softly. He looked down at his hands, 'Or was it? I need to ask Uncle Sev about this.'

Potions was taught by Severus Snape. As the students sat down, he entered the room from another door and walked to the front of the class. He turned around, "There will be no foolish wand waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to enjoy the subtle science and exact art of potion making. However, for those select few who possess the predisposition, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensure the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory and even put a stopper in death – if you aren't as bit a bunch of dunderheads as I usually must teach!"

Some of the boys were slightly glaring at him.

"Now, let's see if you were smart enough to read a bit," said Severus. "Miss Weasley, what would I get if I added root of Asphodel to an infusion of Wormwood?"

"Oh! Um, I know this, I know this…ah, sorry, I don't remember," said Roni.

Severus sighed, "Next time, pay attention to what you are reading child. Now, Mr. Snape, would you mind helping your fellow classmate?"

"It's the Draught of the Living Dead, sir," replied Skylar.

"Correct, five points to Slytherin," said Severus. "Mr. Potter, where would I find a Bezoar?"

"In the stomach of a goat, Professor," answered Harry, thanking his mother for having him read a bit. Also, not to embarrass his uncle.

"Correct, five points to Gryffindor," said Severus, proudly. "Miss Granger, what's the difference between a Monkshood and a Wolfsbane?"

"None, sir. They're the same plant and can also go by the name of aconite," replied Hermione.

"Correct, five points to Ravenclaw," Severus then glared at the other students, "I hope you were all writing this down. You wouldn't know if I decide to put this in a quiz or an exam."

The students quickly wrote down the questions and answers on their notebooks while Severus waved his wand over to the blackboard and ingredients appeared on the board.

"Today, we will be brewing a potion called Boiling cure. It's a potion to cure boils if not brewed correctly, it may cause boils instead of cure them," informed Severus. "Open your books, read carefully the instructions before gathering your ingredients and start brewing your potions. Be warned: do not add the porcupine quills if the cauldron is still in the fire! You may begin."

Having brewed this potion already, Harry quickly teamed up with Skylar while Draco paired up with Hermione. Leaving Roni to be paired up with Neville who can get rather nervous at times.

Halfway through class, Harry and Skylar were about to finish up when they heard a loud hissing noise behind them. Harry turned around to see Roni's cauldron was starting to smoke green.

"Stool now Roni, Seamus! Professor Snape, the potion!" Harry shouted.

Roni and Seamus immediately jumped onto their stools as the cauldron exploded and the liquid started to spill on the floor. Severus quickly banished the melted cauldron and cleaned the spilled potion from the floor.

"Which one of you added the porcupine quills before removing the cauldron from the fire?!" Severus snapped.

Neville bit his lip, "Sorry sir. The quills must have fallen from my hands before Roni could remove the cauldron from the fire."

Severus sighed, "Detention, tonight. You two can redo your potion then, understand?"

Roni and Neville nodded.

"Now, did any of the potion landed anywhere on your skin?" Severus asked.

"No sir. Harry warned us just enough time for us to jump to our stools," replied Neville.

Severus nodded, "Ten points Mr. Potter for quick thinking. Now for the rest of you, finish up what time you have left!"

Harry and Skylar bottled up their finished potion. While Skylar placed their potions on Severus' desk, Harry cleaned their section. Just as everyone finished up and left the classroom, Harry stayed behind.

"Harry, what's wrong?" Severus asked.

"Well, something happened in Transfiguration," Harry played with his robes, "When I looked at Professor Phoenix's face…I had this sudden pain in my head."

Severus frowned, "Sudden pain? Did it feel like some sort of push?"

Harry thought for a moment before nodding.

"Right, thank you for telling me," said Severus before looking serious, "Harry, make sure you avoid looking into Phoenix's eyes, got it?"

Harry nodded before gathering his things and left the classroom.

Severus silently cursed, 'That old coot was trying to invade my nephew's mind! But why? I need to inform this to Uncle Thomas.'

-Ministry, night-

Harrison was glaring at the window as his back was turned from Aiden. He slightly turned his head, "You sure about this information?"

"Positive dad," said Aiden, seriously. "You know my sources never lie."

Harrison took a deep breathe, "Right…this might be the best way to keep an eye on him. We don't know what they are planning, but they do want to get their hands on the Deathly Hallows. We cannot allow that to happen, understand?"

Aiden nodded, "Understood, dad."

"Go. Warn your brother about this," ordered Harrison.

"Right, talk to ya later," said Aiden before leaving the room with his shadow magic.

-Hogwarts, Friday-

Harry and his friends decided to spent some time at the lake. While Roni, Blaise and Draco were trying to get a glimpse of the giant squid, Skylar was telling Hermione about his home life before Hogwarts.

"So, you got tutors instead going to primary school?" Hermione asked.

"Well, I went to a muggle school, but once my accident magic started to kick in, I was pulled out and was given tutors afterwards," explained Skylar.

"The same with all of us," stated Harry, sitting next to Hermione. "I know that all of the Weasley siblings, my friends and my cousins…minus one went to primary school for eight years before getting tutors."

"I see – Oh! You said minus one. Who didn't go?" Hermione asked.

"Sapphire," replied Astrid. "She's half vampire. She was homeschooled by her great-grandmother, Yuki Slytherin-Fudo."

Hermione widened her eyes, "V-Vampire? Does…Does she, umm…"

"No need to worry, little Raven," said Freddie.

"She's completely harmless. She wears this special choker charm around her neck," said Georgie. "As long she has that, she's fine until she's of age."

"Of…age?" Hermione asked.

Eldon looked up from the book he was reading, "She wouldn't be a full vampire until she's about twenty. Gran Yuki became one at the age of twenty-five while grandfather Harrison became one at the age of thirty. Mm, I think uncle Aiden became one around the age of twenty-two."

"So, they become a full vampire depending of the…age?" Hermione asked.

"I…don't think so," replied Bertie. She tapped her cheek, "I think is most likely when their vampire blood activates."

"Oh, I see. Who else in your family are vampires?" Hermione asked.

"Only Sapphire's side of the family are vampires," replied Eldon. "My father was muggle adopted into the family, but we are related to Salazar Slytherin from my father's biological mother."

Hermione grinned, "That's incredible."

"Now that's aside, what are your thoughts about Professor Phoenix?" Jason asked.

"He's…slightly creepy, but not a dunderhead," replied Skylar.

"What I don't like is the way he looks at the Slytherins," said Leonard, gritting his teeth. "He gives full attention to the Gryffindors, ignoring some of the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws, but completely pays no mind to the Slytherins."

Neville nodded, "I noticed that as well."

Harry frowned, "Something…is wrong about him. I just know it. I mention this to Uncle Sev, and he said to be careful and not to look into his eyes."

"I see," murmured Astrid. "Do you have your pendant? Does everyone?"

Everyone nodded while Hermione was confused.

"Let me explain Granger," offered Ophelia. As the fourth year Ravenclaw was explaining about the pendants to the brunette, Harry felt someone staring at his direction. He looked around and not too far from them was Percival Phoenix.

Harry frowned, 'Why is he spying on us?'

"Hey guys, you wouldn't believe it? We were able to see the squid, but just a bit," said Blaise as he and the others returned from the lake.

"Nice, some say it's good luck if you're able to spot him," said Bertie, smirking. "By the way, any special Halloween prank this year?"

Freddie shook her head, "Not yet."

"But we're working on it," said Georgie.

"But wouldn't you get in trouble if you get caught?" Hermione asked.

Freddie laughed, "All they can do is take points away or give out detentions."

Georgie smirked, "And that's if they catch us."

Hermione was about to continue when Astrid stopped her. "Don't worry, their pranks are harmless. Usually, it's a hair or skin color potion, transforming someone into animals, charming supplies, etc."

"That's…That's amazing! And you two are only just third years and you can brew all that?" Hermione said, excitedly.

The Weasley twins simply gave a dramatic bow.

Roni snorted then smirked, "What I'm curious about is how well Harry is doing in DADA with that girly wand of his."

Harry glared at her, "Would you stop that already?!"

"Stop bugging about Harry's wand," said Ophelia. "Not only that wand is perfect for healing and potions, but it's also good for other things like runes and magical pendants…like the one you are wearing."

Blaise smirked, "Sounds like Roni is jealous that Harry has a very unique wand."

"I'm not jealous!" Roni snapped as her cheeks turned red. The others laughed before heading back inside as it was getting close for dinner.
