Her afternoon had been dull. The holidays had proved to be boring when she had no one to spend them with. The afternoon was coming to an end, so now, Atria was sat on the couch waiting for the front door of the Tonks residence to open so something would come and make her day less boring.

Caspian sat purring on the mat, and Atria found herself sitting and watching him. She had started this task a full half an hour ago.

It wasn't until she heard the familiar sound of her cousin stomping up the porch steps that both she and Caspian perked up.

The door swung open and her exhausted and slumped over cousin walked through the door.

"How was your day?" Atria asked as she sat daintily on the couch.

Dora rolled her eyes and dawdled over to the couch.

"Horrible," she said kicking her boots off before throwing herself rather violently back on the couch.

Atria smirked, "Well that's rather dramatic."

"Surprisingly it isn't," Dora said as she dug herself further into the couch before looking at Atria cautiously, "Something happened at Hogwarts."

Taking into note past incidents at Hogwarts the very words had red alarm bells going off in Atria's head. Atria stilled, "Pardon," she said calmly, keeping herself in check.

Dora smiled cheekily before jabbing Atria on the arm, "Don't worry Harry's fine," She assured Atria, "it's Mr Crouch."

Atria cocked her head, "Mr crouch?" she asked.

Dora nodded, "He's missing. And something with Viktor Krum."

Atria nodded along with her cousin, her plan to get to Grimmauld place solidified in seconds with little thought.

"I'm going out," Atria said suddenly catching Dora off guard as she stood up.

"Out?" Dora asked as she stood and followed behind her as Atria walked to the door, "Out where?"

"Just to see Remus," Atria said as she took her coat off the hook on the wall.

"Remus?" Dora asked slyly, "Can I come?" She asked.

"Not today," Atria said hurriedly, not giving Dora a second look as she opened the front door.

Dora reached out her hand, pressing it against the door as it closed the short distance it had opened.

Atria jumped at the sudden move before looking at Dora, who stared at her inquisitively.

"Why not?" Dora asked in a stern voice that may have frightened Atria if she did not already know that Dora did not have a stern bone in her body.

"I need to have a private conversation." She explained bluntly.

Dora continued to stare at Atria questioningly before nodding, "Okay, But can I come next time?"

Atria nodded, "Yeah sure," she said as she opened the door, "I'll be home before dinner."

"Does Dumbledore know who stunned Viktor?" Atria asked as she looked into the green flames of the fireplace in Grimmauld place's sitting room.

"No, they don't even know where Mr Crouch is," Harry replied, before trying to hide a yawn, "My money's on Karkaroff," he added under his breath.

Atria shook her head, "No Karkaroff is the obvious choice, he's not that stupid," She said deep in thought, "If it was even thought he did anything to Crouch he would be sent straight back to Azkaban." It just would make sense if it was Karkorff so who could it be? "No this is someone else." She ran over it again and again in her head, "What was he saying again?"

"Atria he was mad I don't know what he was saying," Harry argued.

"Just tell me again," she snapped impatiently.

Harry shook his head as he started to repeat Mr Crouch's final words, "His wife and son will be arriving, His son got twelve O.W.L.s."

"After that," Atria hurried.

"He said he escaped," Harry said, "Something was his fault, he talked about Bertha and then his son."

"His son?" Atria repeated, "Why does he keep bringing up his son?"

"I think it's guilt," Harry replied.

"Guilt?"

"Mr crouch," Harry began to explain,"His son was a death eater, he sentenced his own son to Azkaban."

Atria nodded, closing her eyes, wishing she could be oblivious to the crime Harry referenced. "Yes, Harry I know the story."

"You know?" He asked.

"I'm familiar with the case," Atria said, the irony of her words sinking in, "Let's leave it at that."

"Could his son have something to do with this?" Harry asked slowly.

Atria took a soft breath, "Harry, his son died in Azkaban years ago." She said softly, looking at Harry, whose hand was trying to conceal yet another yawn.

"Why aren't you sleeping," Atria snapped at him.

"I am," he said defesivly.

"Is it the dreams again?" she asked.

"Yeah," he said boorishly.

"Have you talked to Dumbledore?"

", please stop, can we talk about anything else," he said frustrated.

Atria sighed, "I'm sorry," she said stressfully," I'm worried, things don't just happen at Hogwarts for no reason, there's always something else."

"I know, but can't we just talk," Harry pleaded, "I've missed you."

Just then, the loud sound of music echoed through the halls of Grimmauld place.

Atria looked off in the direction it was coming from, she looked back to Harry, "I promise we'll talk when I get back, but can we finish for now."

She saw the hurt in Harry's eyes, but he nodded, "Yeah, okay"

"I'll see you when I get back," she said comfortingly," just be safe okay,"

He smiled, "I always am."

The green flame burnt out, and Atria stood up with a morbid curiosity.

The music was coming from upstairs, so one foot after the other she made her way up.

Good morning starshine

The earth says "hello"

She reached the second floor. She walked towards her father's childhood bedroom. The room the music was coming from.

You twinkle above us

She peaked her head in. Her father was standing above the large dresser, staring down at the spinning disk on the record player.

We twinkle below

"What's this song?" Atria asked, walking through the doorway.

Sirius jumped slightly as he turned but smiled when he saw her. He continued to move his hands in some form of dancing as he whispered the words along with the song.

Good morning starshine

You lead us along

My love and me as we sing

Our early morning singing song

"It's a strange song," Atria said as she walked into the room.

Sirius put his hand on his chest, feigning offence, "A strange song?" He said.

"Yes. Muggle music?"

Sirius nodded.

"I gathered as much," Atria said as she walked further into her father's old bedroom.

Good morning starshine

"This was your mother's favourite song," Sirius said, turning back to the record player with a glimmer of a sad smile.

There's nothing in the skies

Atria paused, stoping her exploration of the room, "Really," she said softly, her eyes lighting up at the idea of her mother.

Sirius nodded as he hummed, "I'll tell you a story if you like."

Atria nodded, "Yes please."

We met in the sunlight

And my lovers eyes

He turned back to her, motioning to his old bed, "Take a seat."

Atria hurried to the bed with the giddiness of a child who was told it was storytime. When she sat down, Sirius nodded before coolly leaning against the wall next to the record player.

"Your name," Sirius said with an air of suspense, "was Violet."

"Violet?" Atria exclaimed.

"Yes," Sirius confirmed. "Your mother was very, very obsessed with the colour purple. So she decided your name was going to be violet," he smiled as he remembered, "Every morning while she was pregnant, she would look down at her stomach and say good morning Violet," he said, looking down as to mimicking his wife.

"Now what your mother didn't know," He said as if telling her a secret, "was that I hated the colour purple," he said shockingly. "I hid my hatred because I knew she would never talk to me if I ever confessed it," He finished devilishly."But no child of mine was going to be named Violet," he said, shaking his head with a smile.

"You see, I wanted to name you after my uncle Alphard."

"Alphia," she said, repeating her middle name and leaning back against the head of the bed.

"Yes, but your mother didn't like Alphia, she thought it sounded like an old lady name hence it being your middle name. So," he said, coming to sit beside Atria and smiling," I thought… And I remembered the first night I kissed her, " he said looking up. His face shifted, with a light in his eyes that made him look like a young man again, and Atria saw the young boy Remus had told stories about, "how I looked up and thanked the stars for that moment..." his eyes teared, but he still beamed, "and I remember the star that shone brighter than the rest in the sky."

Atria nodded finally understanding, "Atria," she said softly.

He remained looking up for a bit, but he nodded, breaking his trance, "And that is why you are named Atria. After that, every morning as if clockwork, she would wake up and look down at her stomach and say good morning starshine. Hence the song," he said. "And when you finally came, the first thing she said to you was 'Good morning Starshine." His smile faltered for a moment, and his hand went to her cheek, "There is not a day that goes by where I do not miss your mother." he said softly, his eyes running over her face before he smiled to himself, "But she's here, I see her every time you roll your eyes."

Atria beamed up at him as a small laugh burst from her.

A knock on the door startled them both.

She looked over to see Remus smiling at them as he leant against the door frame.

"Alright," he said, walking into the room," Now I have your attention enough of the music," he finished taking the needle off the still playing record.

He looked at Sirius and Atria lounging on the bed before adding seriously, "We have to talk about this summer."

Atria groaned, slouching as she rolled her eyes, "Why?"

Remus sighed to himself with a smile at her childlike behaviour, "Atria I doubt Lucius will be forgiving this time."

"He might be," she said softly, picking at a seam in her trousers.

"We were lucky last time," Remus reasoned, "now he's had time to think."

"Sit up," Sirius said, giving her a nudge as he too sat up, "come on, Serious time."

Atria rolled her eyes as he smiled at her gleefully. Remus was not amused before he began, "There will probably be a hearing, everything will come out."

"I don't even want to think about it," Atria said, the very thought making her sick.

"We have to start to think legal strategy, Kingsley is happy to represent you," Remus said.

"I don't want to think about it," Atria repeated.

"Atria stop it, your acting spoilt," Sirius said gently, "I know it's a lot okay, but if we want things to stay this way, we have to."

Atria bit her tongue before saying almost under her breath. "He won't want a hearing."

"But there still may be one," Remus reasoned.

"No, there won't," Atria said confidently, "It would be too much of an embarrassment for him, trust me, I know there won't be a court case."

"Then what do you think he will do?" Remus asked.

"He'll try to settle it out of court, whether that's good for us or not, I don't know, but he wouldn't dare let this get to the ministry," She said without an air of doubt.

"You're sure," Sirius asked, tipping his chin down as he pushed her hair out of her face, hating the habit she had of hiding behind it.

Atria nodded, still looking down at her trousers, "Positive."

Atria walked into the Tonks house and hung her coat back on its hook. She jumped when she turned, coming face to face with Andromeda who stood with her arms crossed. "You're home late?" She said, her voice hollow.

Atria looked at the clock on the wall, it was only ten o'clock, not too late but she had missed dinner.

She approached timidly before leaning in to give andromeda a kiss on the cheek,"I'm sorry," she said softly.

"Where have you been?" Andromeda asked as she followed Atria into the Kitchen. Dora sat at the table eating her way through one of Andromeda's apple crumbles

"Just with Remus," she said plainly.

"There's a letter for you on the table," Andromeda said from behind her.

Atria paused as her eyes landed on the black envelope on the table. Her breath visibly stopped as she stared at the familiar pitch-black envelope with the white pearly wax seal.

"Is it from him?" she heard Andromeda asked softly behind her.

Atria could only manage a whisper, " Yes."

Dora wiped her hands on her jeans finishing her swallow before asking, "Do you want me to read it?"

Atria shook her head as she anxiously walked over and picked up the letter, "It's alright."

She pulled the wax seal off, It almost felt like it was all happening in slow motion. She pulled the black piece of paper out from the envelope and unfolded it, she saw the white ink on the black paper, his letter's swirled around gracefully as the letter shook in her hand. She began to read.

Atria

Your Aunt and I have discussed very deeply what to do as the holidays come closer.

As you have not made well on the promise of visits as was agreed when I last saw you, your Aunts distress has only grown.

I cannot subject her to any more false hope that you will ever return to us willingly.

The pain of waiting for you to choose to come home has become too much.

I ask one thing as our next meeting approaches.

I ask that you come to the manor on the 15th of august to discuss my final decision.

Your uncle

Lucius

Her breath was heavy as she said out loud, "He wants to meet during the holidays."

Dora stood up stiffly walking over to Atria and snatching the letter from her hand, "Let me read this."

Atria stood frozen not even noticing what was going on around her.

Dora did a double-take looking between Atria and the letter, "It sounds like.."

"Like what?" Andromeda said walking over to Dora and snatching the letter from her hands.

"Like there's not going to be a hearing," Atria said blankly.

"A Hearting?" Dora exclaimed, "Who cares about the hearing, he's letting you go."

"He didn't say that," Atria said flatly.

"It sounds like it," Dora said excitedly looking from Atria to Andromeda "Right."

"Atria," Andromeda said with an airy smile, "it sounds like a surrender."

Dora walked in front of Atria and placed her hands on her shoulders," Aren't you excited?" she asked enthusiastically, "This is Great!"

Atria looked up at her cousin's excited face, "I'm going to bed," she said.

Dora dropped her hands, " To bed?" she asked.

"Yes, I'm tired," Atria said.

Dora nodded, "Okay."

Atria walked past Dora and almost made her way past Andromeda had she not reached out and stopped her with a soft hand on her forearm.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Andromeda asked the worry obvious as she looked Atria over.

"I just want to go to bed, Goodnight," she said with a nod before brushing Andromeda's hand off of her and continuing to the stairs.

She closed her bedroom door and turned off her lights. She climbed into bed not bothering to change, needing to sleep, needing to get rid of the frightful feeling that had settled into her stomach. She knew it well, she had felt it many nights at Malfoy Manor. A feeling that told her something bad was about to happen.
