Here we go the first Chapter of the Order of the Phoenix. I hope you all Enjoy.

"This is a bad idea," Remus said as Atria sat on the edge of her bed with Sirius in front of her.

She rolled her eyes, "I've prepared for this," Atria said," I have two books on this and Sirius has done it."

Remus bit is tongue before looking to Sirius, hoping for some luck on that end, "Things can go very wrong here Sirius, if she's not careful you could end up with a half girl half-bird child."

"You think I'll be a bird?" Atria asked, her excitement only growing before looking at Sirius, "A bird would be nice."

"Sirius rethink this," Remus pleaded.

"Remus I know what I'm doing," Sirius said calmly, "everything will be fine."

He looked to Atria, giving her a nod, "Ready to do this."

Atria nodded back, "Ready."

"I can't watch," Remus said before he walked out of view.

"Now are you sure?" Sirius asked.

"Yes," Atria said without a shadow of a doubt.

"Now we found that it is safest to talk as little as you can because one strong word and it will fly right out of your mouth," Sirius explained, "eating will be difficult just keep it safe under your tongue so you do not swallow it and be ready for the sleepless nights worrying about swallowing it."

"Sirius, why are you telling me this like you won't be here the entire time," Atria said as she looked up from the leaf in her hand, "I know it will be fine."

Within seconds Atria had placed the mandrake leaf in her mouth, and the longest month of her life had begun.

Atria and Sirius sat in the kitchen that night eating while the sound of loud whimpering echoed from the basement beneath the house.

Atria looked up from her book looking to the door that led to the basement.

"Are you sure he's okay?" she asked.

"He's fine," Sirius said comfortingly, "we've done this a few times now so we just need to wait the night out."

It was the first full moon since Atria had arrived. And she felt her stomach twisting up in knots at the idea of Remus going through this alone.

Sirius pushed his plate to the side, clearly done before he pulled out a pair of glasses from his jacket which he had found lying around the house, thirteen years of living in a small Azkaban cell had really done no good for his eyes.

He put the Black Glasses on so they sat on the edge of his nose. He pulled something out of the pocket of his vest before placing the small bottle of black nail polish on the table.

He unscrewed the top before taking the brush to his nails. All the while Atria watching with intrigue.

"What are you doing?" Atria asked.

"Painting my nails," he said as he tried to concentrate, "Andromeda leant it to me, that being said I haven't done it in a long time."

"You used to paint your nails?" Atria asked.

"Yes," he said proudly, "your mother loved my nails."

Atria found herself leaning in, "Can you paint mine?" she asked.

She watched as a hint of a smile grew at the corner of his mouth, he looked up from his nails before nodding, "Of course."

He blew on the hand he had just finished before holding his other one out, "Hand?"

Atria gave her father her hand, and he took it gently in his before beginning on her thumb.

"Dad what animal do you think I will be?" she asked.

"As in, Animagus?" he asked.

"Yeah."

Sirius contemplated for a moment, "I think Remus was pretty close with the bird."

"A bird would be nice," Atria said, but something didn't feel right about that, "But I have a feeling I'm not a bird."

Sirius smiled, "Your mother's Patronus charm was a bird," he said appreciatively, "She was a house finch."

"A house finch?"

"A small songbird," he explained, "but then again she had many talents, but singing was not one of them."

Atria smiled at him, "I think I'm going to be a cat," Atria said.

"A cat?"

"Like McGonagall," she said, she could be wrong but she felt like a cat was in the cards for her.

"I could see that," Sirius said in agreement, "but, I don't think so."

Atria sighed, "Okay then," Atria said as she watched him carefully do her nails, "What do you think and don't say anything about Remus or mum. What do you think?"

His brow lifted as he continued to paint her nails precisely, "A fox," he said.

Atria's brow furrowed, "really?"

"Yeah," Sirius said as he blew on her last nail, "I can't see you as a cat," he said cautiously, "and the first thing that came to mind was a fox." He looked up from her nail before placing her hand back on the table.

"Is that your official guess?" she asked looking down at her newly polished black nails.

He nodded, thinking over his answer, "Yes."

Over the course of a week, they gradually cleaned every nook and cranny of Grimmauld. Andromeda and Ted were downstairs, they had come over to help out around the house and Andromeda had all but imploded in sneezes solely from the amount of dust that was flying through the air. It also helps that they could cook while Sirius and Remus had proved hopeless in that area.

"I don't know what you're on about it could be worse, you could be a muggle who has to do it by hand," Atria said as they made their way to the top floor of the house.

"Doesn't it make it any less disgusting," Sirius said as he reached the top of the stairs.

But Atria had paused, she now looked at the double doors that led to the large bedroom. Sirius joined her at her side as they both realised what room it was, a room that held importance to the both of them in some way.

"What's holding you up?" Andromeda asked as she approached the top, she too paused when she realised just what it was.

So they all stood, questioning whether this was a room they wanted to touch.

"Well come one," Andromeda said, "it won't clean itself."

The door crept open under Andromeda's light touch.

The only light in the room being the small gaps of sunshine that made their way through the black velvet curtains. Andromeda walked in first and lit one of the old wax candles on her grandmother's vanity table.

"Has anyone been in this house since she died?" she asked as she looked over the room, with cracking wall paper and a moth eaten bed.

"Not that I know of," Atria said as she walked slowly into the room, Sirius at her heels, "it's just been locked up."

They all took off in different directions looking through the items of the room which had not been touched in over eleven years.

"Sirius," Andromeda said beckoning him over, she was holding something. Sirius went over to his cousin's side joining her in looking down at the picture in her hand.

"Oh," he said as he looked down, "I'm surprised she kept any photos with me in them."

Atria walked over, her curiosity ebbing as she joined them as they peered down.

The photo captured five children, well children and teenagers.

Two young boys and three young women.

Regulus, Sirius, Andromeda, Narcissa and Bellatrix. It always took her off guard seeing her family in photos. Especially knowing what became of them all. The Five children with the world at their feet in this photo shook her more when she remembered what became of them.

"You could be twins you know," Sirius said to Andromeda.

Atria continued looking at the picture her eyes landing on the two eldest girls

One with light brown hair who stood with a faltering smile and the other with black hair who stood stoically. She tried to see simply a photo, but the emptiness in the eyes of the eldest black Daughter always sent a shiver down her spine.

"We could've," Andromeda said in agreement.

Sirius leant back before taking in the faces of the women and girl by his side, "you're pretty close too," He said, "I do wonder about that," before Atria could work out what he was doing Sirius had took off in a stride like a man on the mission, "come here."

He walked over to the large oval mirror that rested on the wall before wiping the dust off with his sleeve.

Atria walked over. He placed her in front of him staring at her reflection along with his, "Andromeda," he said before ushering the women to his side.

"Now," he said before pushing Atria a little over so she stood between them, "who does Atria, my child," he said placing his hand on his chest, "look the most alike too."

Everyone looked in the mirror, "Who do you think it is?" Sirius asked Atria, "me or Andromeda?"

They took a moment to stare before Andromeda spoke up, "me."

Sirius's eyes widened in offence before he looked too Atria. Atria gave her father a guilty smile before nodding at Andromeda.

He took a step back, dramatically gasping.

Atria turned quickly with a smile, "I still look like you," she said comfortably as Sirius threw himself on the bed childishly, sending a large cloud of dust up in the air after him.

"I just look more like Andromeda," She finished earnestly.

"And by extension," Andromeda added.

"No!" Sirius said shooting up, "she does not look like her she looks like you."

Andromeda smiled before raising the photo back up to look at it, "Narcissa," she sighed, "little Cissy."

Sirius crossed his legs as he too seemed to drift off onto the same memory lane Andromeda was on, "does it ever weigh on your chest that she married…"

Andromeda's smile faltered before she shrugged, "she had always had a crush, It was bound to happen."

Atria's brow furrowed, "what was?"

The room was silent for a moment and Andromeda and Sirius looked at each other as if someone had just walked in on a private conversation and the person who should have never heard it, had.

"Oh shit," Sirius said as he lay back on the bed.

Andromeda put the photo down as she questioned how to approach the very difficult subject, "Atria," she begun, "do you remember when I told you that I was engaged to someone before Ted."

Atria nodded as she too begun to fit the pieces together, surely not.

"That man," Andromeda said, "was Lucius."

Atria's eyes widened as she looked at the women who had taken her in, "You were engaged to Lucius?" she asked softly.

"Yes," Sirius said as he sat up to look at his cousin keeping an eyes on Atria from his peripheral view , "she was."

Andromeda shook it off, "I was young, I thought I was in love, I wasn't, I was just naive."

Andromeda looked to Atria before further explaining, "That's why I went into the meeting with you." she said placing her hands on atria shoulders, "I know him, I know his pride, a dog won't do anything wrong in front of anyone who has kicked him."

But Atria had visibly stiffened, "will you excuse me for a moment? " she asked

She didn't bother to wait for a reply before she quickly made her way into her grandmother's ensuite and closed the door.

She looked in the mirror, they hadn't been wrong, the resemblance she had to the younger Andromeda in the picture was uncanny, apart from a few tweaks of her mother. But apart from that not much.

Atria had always asked herself questions about the way she had been raised, about why Lucius had this vendetta against her from what seems to be her birth. It was hard for her to even think about Lucius without a blood boiling murderously.

But it ate at her, maybe it wasn't her, maybe it was anger at someone else, someone who she seemed to represent.

Atria had always wondered how people became the way they were, how they became so twisted up inside. Lucius had always had a problem with blood traitors, with being disobeyed and she had to wonder just how or who had caused such a thing.

Was it possible the answer was standing in the room beyond this door?

"Atria are you alright dear?" Andromeda asked from beyond the door

"I'm fine." She called back

She opened the door and walked into the bedroom. Sirius was no longer in the room, leaving Atria and Andromeda alone.

"Where's Sirius?" She asked.

Andromeda was taking the photographs one by one, stacking them, taking them off the vanity and mantel piece to clear the surface area, "Oh Ted needed some help down stairs."

Atria wiped her nose as she walked over to the bed, before taking the place her father had previously occupied. "Andromeda, um can I ask you something?"

Andromeda placed the photographs on the floor before looking at atria with a nod, "Of course."

Atria leant back on her hand as Andromeda came to stand in front of her, "was he always like the way he is?" She asked softly.

"Lucius?" Andromeda asked.

Atria nodded.

Andromeda contemplated before shaking her head, "No," she said simply, "he was never amazing but he could be close to it when he wanted to be." She explained, "So no I didn't see it for some time."

Atria's brow furrowed.

"But," Andromeda continued gently, "the time came and I saw exactly what he was and I knew I had to get out."

The two women locked eyes as it crossed Atria's mine that their similarities probably didn't end with their looks, Atria gave a curt nod and Andromeda smiled knowing she had answered whatever question Atria was trying to answer.

"Okay well let's start," Andromeda said, "get your father back here, break time is over."

Atria sat in her room listening to the hushed conversation that happened in the room adjacent to her. Her fingers had been going crazy as she fidgeted hoping that someone would decide to raise their voice. it was like they knew she was listening.

"Atria," she heard Sirius call her name, "can you come out here please darling."

She stood from the stairs and waited a bit to make sure they didn't realise she had been sitting by the door, she then walked slowly to the door before turning the handle.

the door opened and she saw Dumbledore and professor McGonagall sitting in the black family sitting room along with Remus and Sirius.

"Have a seat Miss Black," Dumbledore said.

Atria walked hesitantly into the room before taking a seat next to her father.

"Atria," Remus began, "Dumbledore has something to ask you."

Atria nodded, "Alright," she said before turning to the old man who sat in her grandmothers armchair.

"Atria," He greeted, "I am going to ask you not to contact Harry Potter."

"What?" She asked, her hand flew to cover her mouth as she felt the leaf she had been holding in her mouth almost fly out with her outrage.

The room went silent and she could feel Sirius' eyes nervously divert away from her.

Her heart was beating so fast as she tried to take in what she had just been told and she couldn't control her tongue so she couldn't push the leaf somewhere in her mouth where it wouldn't fly out the moment she opened it.

"A lot of eyes will be on Harry right now," Remus explained.

"Yes," Dumbledore agreed, "and we can't be making any wrong moves, we are in a very precarious position."

Atria remained silent as she burnt up angrily inside.

"Miss Black you have to understand we do not know how strong this connection between Harry and Voldemort is and until we do we cannot risk Harry knowing anything and Voldemort seeing it."

She couldn't say anything but she managed to take her hand away from her mouth as she shook her head.

"Only for now Atria," Sirius reasoned.

She looked over to Sirius as she shook her head furiously her eyes locked with his.

Sirius took a deep breath as he looked over at his only child with growing irritation, "Atria you will."

She shook her head at her father the anger growing in both of them.

"Miss Black," the ever-wise Dumbledore tried to reason but Atria was not having it, how could they ask this of her, and she couldn't even speak her tongue was tied in knots and she only felt like she was getting angrier and angrier with every second. So she did the one thing she could.

Her hand shot up, her middle finger with it directly at her headmaster.

"Atria!" Sirius exclaimed, his hand shooting out to grab at the hand she had just shown Dumbledore.

"That's it," he said as he dragged her by her hand, "go to your room," he said as he all but through her out of the room. he slammed the door in her face, leaving her fuming by the door. She went to speak again but she felt the leaf once more almost fall out of her mouth so she slammed it shut. She gave the door one more disgruntled look before walking away with a stomp.

Atria sat at the desk in her room. A book in front of her that she was pretending to read as she angrily thought.

Her ears pricked up as she heard voices come into the hallway before staying there, She stood up before walking over to her door and pressing her ear against it.

She could hear the whispers and hisses in the hallway as Remus and Sirius discussed her like a five-year-old put in the naughty corner.

"I'll talk to her," she could hear Sirius say.

"No Sirius I will," Remus spoke up sternly.

"I'm her father."

"Then act like it," Remus hissed, "Jesus Sirius, there are some things you have to say no to."

Footsteps approached her door and she ran back to her desk before sitting down and pretending she had never left it.

A knock sounded on her door, "Atria, It's me, I'm coming in."

The door opened, and Remus stepped in before leaning against the doorway.

"I won't do it, Remus," she said.

"So you can talk now, I was hoping not," he said with a smile, but all he got was a glare.

"You have too," he said gently, "it's what's best now."

Atria rolled her eyes, "So what, we leave Harry in the dark when he is the one person who should know about what is going on. Remus have you seen what they are writing about him, he will need us," she said gesturing over to the newspaper on her nightstand.

"You said you wanted to help," he said as he came to stand by her desk, "so do this."

She closed her book, and looked up at Remus, she knew she was giving in but she wasn't going to be happy about it.

He nodded, "Now come out and apologise."

"I won't apologise," She said coldly.

Remus sighed.

"Why do you trust Dumbledore?" Atria snapped at Remus, "I don't trust him."

"Atria these last few weeks have been hard," Remus explained.

"Hard doesn't cut it," Atria said, "He knew Remus. About Snape and let me live with that man, and he knew!"

"Atria I know how you feel."

"You couldn't possibly."

"I do," he said, his frustration growing, "last year I went to Dumbledore and asked him about Lucius and what he believed and he lied to my face." he said angrily, "So yes, I feel your betrayal, but we have gone through this war before and I'm telling you we need him, so listen to him, he is our best chance, and he knows best."

"Yes, he knows best, no matter the consequences. No matter how many lives he ruins," Atria said coldly.

"Atria, you will because you have too," he said disapprovingly holding out his hand for her, "now come on."

Atria looked up at his hand before angrily taking it, he led her from the bedroom back towards the sitting room.

The door was open as he brought her in.

"Atria would like to say something," he announced to the room not missing the glare she gave him.

Atria let go of Remus's hand as she looked begrudgingly over to Dumbledore.

"I'm sorry," she said, it wasn't earnest but she said it.

Dumbledore gave her a tight smile before addressing the room, "may I have a moment alone with Atria."

Remus nodded before Sirius stood and joined him, they left the room along with McGonagall leaving Atria alone with Dumbledore.

"Atria I would like to apologise," he said calmly.

Atria shook her head, before taking a seat on the lounge opposite to him, "No apology will ever make up for what you have done to me and my family."

"Atria it was no easy decision."

She shook her head with bitterness, "No, I don't believe it was," she said cooly, "you just made the wrong one."

"You were six," he begun to explain slowly, "when Severus told me, and then everything changed, I had to decide whether my help was needed."

Atria felt her fist tighten, "Is that what you thought when you left me and my mother unprotected," she said as she looked down at the swirling velvet pattern on the couch, "or when Sirius needed one voice to speak up for him, like the way you spoke up for Snape. Because I'll tell you how it looks and feels to me professor, it looks like my mother was not important enough to protect and my father was not important enough to save." She looked up at him her eyes cold as she continued stoically "And they may follow you and listen to you and trust you. But I Don't."

The room stood in silence before Dumbledore nodded, "Alright Miss Black," he said before standing, "I Understand."

They made their way into the kitchen, to the large wooden table big enough to seat twenty. It wasn't long before the floo came alive and people started making their way into the kitchen.

People she knew and didn't know coming through the door. Arthur Weasly, McGonagall, Kingsley had arrived much to her shock along with mad eye moody, the real one that is.

"Hello, las," greeted the large and intimidating man.

"Professor," she greeted, she didn't remember much from that night, to be honest. This was probably their first proper introduction.

"No not professor," he said before holding out his hand, "You can call me Mad Eye."

She took his hand before giving it a firm shake.

"Atria," Sirius said, speaking up, "I think it's time for you to go to your room."

"Why?" she asked looking between Remus and Sirius.

"Atria," Remus said, "we had a deal."

"Why shouldn't she stay?" Mad Eye spoke up, as he took his seat leaning back cooly, "she's a bright young girl."

"Exactly. A girl," Remus said not all enjoying Mad Eyes input.

"A girl who figured out Barty crouch jr a lot faster than the rest of you did," Atria tried not to smile at the praise, but he was right.

"Atria," Sirius said, "Please."

She bit her cheek as she gave a nod, "okay, I'll go," she said in defeat.

"Thank you," he said as he led her to the door, "and no eavesdrop," he said.

Atria nodded before leaving the room, she looked back just as her father closed the door behind her.

As Atria walked back to her room she heard the floo once more come to life.

She heard heavy footsteps coming from the the sitting room before Snape made his way into the hallway.

Atria's eyes locked with the beady black eyes of her professor, and she felt the need to say something or do something, but she knew she couldn't.

So she quickly run up the stairs before stalking to her bedroom and slamming the door shut behind her.

Atria lay in bed that night, listening to the sound of the order as they one by one left her house.

She closed her eyes quickly when her door suddenly swung open.

"Atty?" she heard her father whisper into the room.

She heard him take a few steps into the bedroom. She could feel him watching her.

"I know you're awake," he said, "I can see your eyes moving."

She rolled her eyes before she sat up in bed, "What?" she asked.

He smiled at her softly, "Are you angry at me?" he asked.

"No," she said crossing her arms as she leant against her headboard.

"Not even a little bit?" he asked as he sat down on the edge of the bed.

She hesitated, "Maybe a little bit."

"it's just.." she trailed off, "how are you okay with all this?"

His brow furrowed, "with what part of it?" he asked her.

She rolled her eyes, surely he knew, "Not telling Harry," she said beginning with the tip of the ice berg, "with Dumbledore." she wiped her tired eyes before adding in, "I just don't want Snape in my house."

Sirius sighed, as he looked at her, his head strong daughter. He worried about her, he knew first hand what wars and deaths and hurt did to a person, how it made you bitter and closed off inside, how you become so angry that at a certain point you learnt to live with it and it became embedded inside you. He just couldn't let that happen to her, not now.

"Move over," he said.

Atria moved over on the small single bed as Sirius took a seat next to her, he took a deep breath as he leant against her headboard.

"Atria you don't have to convince me, I know where you are coming from," he said looking over at her, "I can't imagine how angry you must feel, how robbed, because you were." he told her, almost trying to assure her that her feelings where relevant and heard. "But Dumbledore was put in an impossible situation."

"It wasn't Impossible," Atria said begrudgingly.

"Atty-" Sirius sighed as he tried to contain himself, he knew. He knew exactly what should have happened, what should have been done. But it hadn't happened. He knew the anger she felt, the entire night had been hard as he had tried to stop himself from killing the slimy black-haired man who had sat across from him. But he couldn't right now, they needed stability, they needed strength because without it they had nothing.

"He left you there," She went on, "in that prison, he said nothing, he openly defended Snape but not you and then he left me even though he knew Lucius killed her."

"I know, I know," he found himself snapping. He felt her flinch away from his side and he wiped his hand over his tense face trying to calm down.

"Please I know," he said hopelessly, "And I can't even think about it," he admitted, "Every time I do I know what I want to do but that would be exactly what they want."

Atria tried not to be angry at his words but she was, how could he just accept it.

"But it's like I told you," he continued, "the time will come, but not now, Snape is useful to us for now."

"Because he was a death eater," Atria said dismissively.

"No, because he is one," Sirius said. Atria's eyes settled as Sirius admitted what Atria could only guess.

"Snape can get us the information we wouldn't have otherwise," Sirius said, "but I swear to you here, The day will come when all of this is over and then he will pay, but it won't be today," he said as he wrapped his arm around her.

Atria rested her head on her father shoulder as he finished, "Because now we need as much help as we can get because Harry will need it."

She nodded against his chest, as she tried to simply enjoy this time with him. But she couldn't help the emptiness she felt at the idea of ever letting it go. She peaked back up at Sirius, at his calm exterior. How could he? she asked herself, how could he let this one go?. This wasn't any small effort and she understood that Sirius had fought in a war and had experiences she didn't, but this wasn't just anyone, this was his wife, her mother. She placed her head back on his chest relaxing into the hold as he rubbed her back. Ignoring the screaming in her mind that told her not to take it.
