Minara was in his quarters as he was writing in his journal and wanting to be with his family once again. It had been a week since Marthonus' arrival as everyone was on hand to watch over me in my very long furlough in which my "support" was finishing up his journal and getting ready to start the day. When he left his quarters, he went towards the bathroom as he was taking off his nightclothes and putting them into the hamper. Stepping into the shower, he turned on the faucet as he was cleaning himself under the running hot water. He was looking forward into making sure that I was well-guarded in which he remembered being in my predicament during the Spillway mission on Shiganshina two years ago. By the time he finished up, he turned off the hot water in the shower as he stepped out of there in which he dried himself with a towel. In that moment, he went towards the mirror as he looked at himself directly.
"Another day, another assessment for Sam…," he said to himself.
He was pausing in front of the mirror as he was looking at the mottos, "Nemo me impune lacessit" and "Non timebo mala," tattooed on both of his arms as they were mortal reminders of what he was going through in this ongoing war. The losses of Penelope and Lentulus nearly sent him over the edge as he never forgot about Julilla's cruelty and how she nearly broke him. He also found a good kinship in Mizuwa as she filled the very void after what he went through. Still, he has healed from the trauma, but he would also endure the throes of pregnancy that were mainly reserved for women as he even went on the Spillway mission without knowing about it directly.
"A little ironic, don't you agree?" he said to himself as he finished drying off.
Minara put the towel into the hamper as he got dressed in some fresh clothes for today. With his teeth and hair brushed, he was ready to go as he left the bathroom and went towards my room where I was still staying in bed. He knew that I wasn't allowed to be walking too much as I was forced to endure another day of being bedridden, for I was in bad shape due to the swollen legs and bad back that I had in the throes of my pregnancy.
"I take it that you're propped upward again," he said to me as he noticed the extra pillows under my legs and feet. "Swollen legs are the worst symptom in a pregnancy and it sucks."
"I've been better," I said.
"Have you had any more unmentionable problems other than your pregnancy?"
"No, it's all the same right now. It's not just the bad back and swollen legs. I have soft skin, but my pectorals are still the size of a male bodybuilder's. Just yesterday, Marthonus inserted a needle into one of my nipples to take a milk sample and it hurt like hell. Has he done that to you?"
"I was under the watchful eye of both the Medical Corps and the medicus in which I went through the ringer. I didn't have a needle inserted into my nipple, but I was guarded round the clock by both the Medical Corps and the medicus who lived at our homestead in Meros on Claudius. Still, I endured it for the sake of my health and that of my daughter. It's ironic that you and I are the only two men in the Order who have endured pregnancy, but that doesn't mean that we haven't gotten out of harm's way yet."
I sat up as I was still feeling where Marthonus inserted that needle into one of my pectorals. It was a very embarrassing thing that ever happened as I tried not to think about it. Still, Minara was concerned about my health and well-being as he was there at the behest of Dean. It wasn't long until I laid back down as I was still enduring the bout of the bad back while carrying my little ones in my body. I was still tired due to my babies kicking in which I didn't get enough sleep. By the time I laid back down, I closed my eyes as I fell asleep in which Minara covered me up further. He was the same as me as he understood what I was going through, for he also faced it even after he helped into stopping the Red Inquisition from culling the Draaza population in Zavrath two years ago. The Spillway mission was a heavy reminder that he had as his daughter also experienced combat in the womb.
"I'll be back," he said as he left the room.
Minara went downstairs as he was on his way to the kitchen to cook up some breakfast. He was ready to make his usual baked pears with honey, almonds, and Ricotta cheese in which he was on his way to the storeroom. When he got towards the cabinet of spices, he noticed a rolled carpet that was on the floor as he picked it up. What he didn't expect was that the rolled carpet that he found unrolled as it transported him into the past. The place itself was familiar as it was none other than Bobby's junkyard in which it was strewn with old cars. He didn't want to be here as he had to return to the present without any delays, for it would be a very long day for him…
I woke up from a long nap as I was wondering where Minara was. It had been two hours since I fell asleep as I had no other choice but to get up onto my feet against my strict order of bedrest. The pregnancy that I had was making it harder to move as I slowly left the room and carefully went downstairs to find out what was going on. By the time I reached the bottom, I saw Marthonus standing in front of me as he was disappointed at me for being on my feet. I was in the doghouse, but I was also worried about Minara's safety in which I had to find him before something bad happens, for he was assigned here as my support for the pregnancy that I had.
"Sam?" I heard Marthonus say to me. "What are you doing out of bed?"
"Minara's gone," I said. "I don't know where he went."
Marthonus rushed towards the kitchen as he later went into the storeroom. What he noticed that the unrolled carpet was none other than a time mandala as it was glowing brightly. Picking it up, he rolled up the mandala as he was more than likely to be taking it to one of the labs on his ship. When I saw him leaving the kitchen, I got up on my feet to my wheelchair as I wheeled myself to the front where I followed him to the Order of Letters ship that was near the harbor. The cold northern wind chilled me to the bone as I was starting to freeze. I couldn't keep up with Marthonus as I had no choice but to go back inside and get my coat on. With my coat and boots on, I rushed back outside as I wheeled myself towards the harbor where the Order of Letters ship was parked. Just as I was about to go further, I felt a hand steering my wheelchair back as I turned around and noticed Castiel behind me. He was aware of what was going on as he had his reasons to be here, for I had to know why.
"I have to save Minara," I said.
"You can't do that in your condition, Sam," said Castiel as he was about to steer me away from the harbor. "Lord Minara will be alright. You have to put faith in him soon enough."
"What faith? He's trapped in the time of the Elder Days and you want me to put faith in him when he could end up doing something wrong in the timeline?"
"You shouldn't worry too much, Sam," said Marthonus as he got out of his ship. "Besides, it'll cause too much stress in your precious cargo."
"Lord Minara is also a Nephilim," said Castiel. "He has the ways and means to return."
"He may be a Nephilim, but he can't last in that timeline forever. The only way to jumpstart a portal to return is to use the time mandala to bring him back with an incantation that can be boosted with a sample of raw power."
"You can use the sample of my breastmilk you obtained," I said. "It's more than enough to save Minara and bring him back home."
"There's a lab in my ship. I have the time mandala in there. As soon as we get Minara safe, the better."
And so, we followed Marthonus into his ship as we noticed it to be combined with Atreidian technology. By the time we went into the lab, I noticed the time mandala on the table as it was rolled out and in good condition. What I also noticed was that there was the sample of the breastmilk that was taken from one of my pectorals as it was glowing at the reaction of the mandala. Even Castiel noticed it to be in tune with what was on the table as he was aware of the time mandalas that were made centuries ago, for it would also be useful to find and rescue Minara from his fate.
"I already studied the sample, Sam," said Marthonus as he was more optimistic than normal.
"You already took it from me anyway," I said.
"The sample has a fraction of raw power in it," said Castiel. "It's more than enough to find and rescue Lord Minara before he suffers from the wrath of what went on in the Elder Days."
"And I know where Minara is," said Marthonus as he got out his talisman. "It seems that he's in the year 2008 and that was at the time that the Dean Winchester of Old made a demon deal that lasted up to a year."
I remembered that time of the Elder Days as I also heard stories about how Dean's past self resurrected my own during the downfall of Azazel. What I also feared the worst is that Minara would end up in the crossfire if he wasn't careful, for we had to get him back as soon as possible…
Minara was braving his way through the junkyard as he noticed the sign, "Singer's Auto Yard," hanging above him. He also noticed Bobby's house intact before it burnt down as he noticed a truck leaving the premises. It was Bobby himself as he was on a milk run in which he was driving off somewhere. In a brim of curiosity, he walked towards the house as he entered inside in which he saw dozens of lore strewn all over the living room. The sight of many old artefacts were mainly made to be left alone as he didn't want to mess with them. Still, he continued to scope the house as he saw the kitchen being a mess complete with empty beer bottles on the floor. During his years living on Claudius, he always had a knack for helping to do the housework as he decided to tidy up the kitchen just in time for brunch.
"No time like the present, but you should've at least cleaned up the kitchen before you left," he said to himself. "You even have it stinking like a donkey's ass."
Minara got to work as he began to clean the kitchen. With the work being up to an hour, he cleaned it up as he did the most by washing dishes and later picking up the trash that was on the floor. By the time he finished up, he was glad that the kitchen was cleaned as he later heard the truck from earlier driving back. He had to hide as he heard the door of the truck open and close in which he hid in one of the closets that were in the living room. Peeking through the door crack, he saw Bobby coming back with some groceries as he went towards the kitchen. It wasn't long until the occupant of the house noticed the kitchen spotless as he even noticed the trash taken out and off the floor, for there was something odd here.
"Balls," Minara heard Bobby say as he put down his groceries on the kitchen table. "Dean must've came back to clean up before he left. That idjit had the gall to pick up his mess, but his yearly contract's almost up."
Minara was shocked to hear that from Bobby as he was in the time that Dean's past self made a contract with a demon for a year. Still, he had to get out of the house as he had to return to the junkyard as soon as possible. When he crept out of the closet, he made his way to the door as he was home free. Just as he was about to do so, he was spotted by Bobby as he was stunned to see him there without warning, for he was in the doghouse of his own folly.
"This ain't Comi-Con, son," he said.
"I was on my way out the door," said Minara as he turned around.
"From your getup, you must be a mish-mash of Lord of the Rings and The Matrix. And what fighting style do you have? Middle-Earth Kung Fu?"
"I'm from the future, but I can't be here for long."
"And why's that? Surely, you must've came from one of those cheesy nerd conventions while dressing up as one of those Keebler Elves with the Kung Fu garb."
"It's a long story, but sooner or later, I'll be going back to my timeline so I won't interfere with too much of what's been put here without shifting things."
"What do you mean 'shifting things?' Is there something that you're not telling me?"
"Let's just say that I've been having a long day."
Bobby noticed Minara going towards the cabinet as he found a mixing bowl the moment he washed his hands afterwards. He was eyeing his "guest" carefully as he spotted him getting out the a canister of rolled oats to go with some flour, sugar, and other spices to make a dessert. Spotting a bag of apples that were on the counter, Minara took them as he grabbed a cutting board and peeled them while throwing away the mess afterwards. With the apples cut into slices, he placed them into a pan as he was more than likely to be making an apple crisp for Bobby. With the other ingredients prepped and the oven preheated, he was hard at work as he was patient with making desserts the moment he was checking on the apples that were cooking in the pot. By the time he put the ingredients altogether, he placed them into a glass casserole pan as he was ready to place it into the oven for an hour. Cleaning up the mess, Minara was hard at work putting the stuff away and washing the dishes in which Bobby never saw anyone up and make a dessert for him, for he wanted to tell the Winchester of Old about this in the near future.
"You sure know how to clean up after you make a good apple crisp," he said as he was putting away groceries. "I bet that Sam and Dean would flip if they came home to see this."
"I always make sure that the kitchen is cleaned," said Minara.
"You're not from around here, are you?"
"No…, but I got stuck here in your junkyard."
"Things went sideways when Dean made that deal to bring back Sam during our battle with Ol' Yellow-Eyes last year. From what I heard, Bela snagged the Colt after that demon fixed it up a few months back. And last night, some police station in Colorado got destroyed by a demon who's known in the old lore as Lilith."
"We all know who she is. She was the first mate that was made for Adam, but she wanted a lot more than just be another 'desperate housewife.' That was when God Himself cast her out and did some surgery on Adam and took out one of his ribs and thus crafted someone who is both submissive and subservient, which is Eve, until she ends up being tempted by a serpent to chow down on the apples in the Garden of Eden."
"You know your First Testament stuff off the bat. I bet that Sam would learn a thing or two coming from you."
Both Minara and Bobby waited for the apple crisp to get done as the timer went off. With a pair of oven mitts, Bobby opened up the oven as he saw the dessert all done and ready to eat until he put it on the table. It wasn't long until he went to the freezer as he got out a quart of vanilla ice cream in which he wanted to get into it directly. Getting out a bowl and spoon, he was ready to get into it as he later used a scoop and spatula to dig into the apple crisp. He tasted the hot dessert and ice cream as he loved it a la mode. Even Minara was willing to try some until he spotted something in the distance.
"Sorry, but I have to go," he said as he was fearing the worst. "Enjoy the apple crisp!"
"Hey, where you going?" asked Bobby.
Without warning, Minara heard a high-pitched sound emanating from outside as he had a gut feeling that angels would show up. Sprinting out of the house, he fled through the junkyard as he was fearing the worst, for he also couldn't put Bobby's life at risk…
Marthonus was preparing an incantation to place on the mandala as he got out some warding paper and placed it on the table. In a small petri dish, he took the breastmilk sample as he poured it directly into it. With the warding paper dipped into the breastmilk, it glowed brightly as Marthonus placed it onto the time mandala in which it was emanating an energy that was needed to activate it in order to bring Minara back alive. I was hoping and praying for his safety as I was concerned about what could happen next. Even Castiel was concerned for both me and Minara as he had to do his damnedest to help us bring our friend home.
"You're trembling, Sam," he said to me as he saw me shaking with fear.
"I'm praying for Minara's safety right now," I said.
"I've pinpointed Minara's location through time," said Marthonus. "Unfortunately, there's a problem."
"What kind of problem?"
"He's being pursued," said Castiel as he was concerned for Minara's safety. "We can't get him back yet."
"Are you kidding me? Of course you can get Minara back!"
It wasn't long until Nibori rushed into the ship as she had her witching tools with her. She made her way to the lab as she noticed the time mandala on the table glowing. She noticed Marthonus hard at work to maintain the energy of the mandala until she felt the imprint of raw power on her back glowing brightly. The imprint itself made her see Minara running away from Bobby's house in the time of the Elder Days as he was hiding from something, but who is going after him?
"He's not alone," she said as she saw an unkempt man following Minara.
"I'm going in," I said as I slowly got up from my wheelchair.
"Hold on, Preggo; you're not in good shape right now," said Nibori cautiously. "Besides, Castiel and I have imprints of raw power that can get Minara home." She notices me with my kimono wet for some odd reason as she noticed me clutching at the baby bump that I had. "You're leaking. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Nibori. It's just stress…"
"No, you're not," said Castiel. "Your pregnancy has caused you to have swollen legs and a backache. As for the situation at hand, we'll find Minara and get him back."
"I just hope to the gods that Minara's alright." I sat back down in my wheelchair as I was feeling at my baby bump. "I just want him safe from harm."
My worries for Minara's safety alarmed me as he was more than just an Elder of the Order and a member of the Medical Corps. He was also my brother-in-law and someone who has endured what I was going through as I prayed hard for him to get back to the present, for this was a very grueling task indeed…
Minara was hiding in one of the dented-up cars in Bobby's junkyard. He was wanting to get back to the present as he had to get away from whoever was following him. When the coast was clear, he got out of the dented-up Subaru he was in and fled away from the property in which he noticed a tunnel that led to a slug roe home. Taking no chances, he made it to the tunnel as he was inside to where he noticed two dead bodies on the concrete. What he didn't expect was that there were shadowy imprints of angel wings on the ground as he knew what they were. When he heard footsteps approaching, he had to hide until he noticed a pair of angel blades on the concrete. Picking them up, he wasn't about to run anymore as he had no other choice but to face whoever was going after him.
"Whoever you are, I won't run anymore!" he yelled as he was holding the angel blades in his hands.
It wasn't long until Minara saw a man with orange hair that was styled up in braids coming towards him as he remained still. He had a gut feeling that his stalker was a little off as he was clutching at the pair of angel blades in his hands. He wasn't about to go down without a fight yet as he had to both stay my ground and avenge the two angels that he found earlier, for he had to protect himself before going back to his own timeline.
"Looks like Comi-Con season came early," said the suspicious man as his eyes flashed black.
"A demon; that's just great," said Minara as he was holding up the angel blades in his hands.
"Keep talking, Buddy the Elf; I'm in a really good mood when I gut you up and turn you into E.L. Fudge in broad daylight."
"I take it that you up and killed those angels, didn't you? You're also covering up for what your handler are doing on the sly."
"They were meddling in Lilith's business, so I had to get rid of them. Therefore, there's one that I've caught so I can have fun torturing him."
"Everyone knows that demons have a knack for twisting things, but you can't outrun those who would take you out."
"Oh, I was having a banger when I saw the news about a police station in Colorado having those people dying after those Winchester boys repelled the previous attack. Lilith made short work of those meatbags real quick! As for you, Mr. Spock, your ass is grass 'cause I can tell that you're a Nephilim due to your angel powers!"
"Come and get me!"
Minara saw the demon coming towards him as he was using his telekinesis to lift sharp objects towards him. Dodging them, he was holding his own as he felt his powers being amped up. The tattoos on his arms began to come off of his arms and onto the angel blades as they were changed into a pair of scimitars. He wasn't afraid as he jumped up and took out the demon the moment he gutted him with them. With his pursuer dead, he was safe until he heard loud banging beneath the walls. Even though his curiosity got the better of him, he went to the corner of the wall as he saw a sliding door that was locked with a chain keeping it shut. Using one of the scimitars that he procured, he sliced the chain as he opened up the sliding door and noticed Castiel in his normal attire all tied up with some duct tape on his mouth. He remembered the stories that Ippei told him about the time of the Elder Days as Castiel himself was an integral part in what was known as Team Free Will for a while.
"You look like you came out of a donkey's ass," he said as he took of the duct tape from Castiel's mouth and untied him from his bonds. "The demon's gone and I avenged the deaths of your friends. It's the least I can do for now."
"I don't know you," he said as he was on his feet.
"Good, 'cause I'm going back to my own timeline after this. Don't be such an ass-butt."
"You're a Nephilim; an abomination that is crafted from an angel and a human."
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean that I'm useless." Minara sees some bruises on Castiel's wrists as he uses his abilities to heal him. "You should also be careful when you go toe-to-toe with demons like that."
"I'm an angel of the Lord and someone who is watching over Dean Winchester after the fall of Azazel."
"Yeah, I know. From what I heard from Bobby Singer, he made a demon contract to resurrect Sam in which it lasts up to a year and that's almost up as we speak."
"Irrelevant…"
"It's only irrelevant if you can't do the right thing. If Dean's contract is up and dragged into Hell, I suggest that you go into the pit and get his ass out of there if you can."
It wasn't long until a portal opened up as Minara gathered up the scimitars and returned back to his own timeline. When the portal closed up, Castiel watched in the distance as he was starting to remember the words that were heard earlier. Even though he pissed on cue like other angels in God's Heavenly Host, he was starting to have a much higher purpose in mind after hearing what Minara told him. He even remembered the word that he will eventually say in the future, for there were a lot of things that haven't occurred yet.
"Ass-butt," he said to himself as he vanished without a trace.
Minara was back in the present as he was in the lab of Marthonus' ship. He saw us in the present as he also noticed Castiel's presence among us. He also saw me in my wheelchair as I was glad that he was alive and safe. What I also noticed was that he had his scimitars in his hands as I also found that the tattoos on his arms were gone. He was home as there was nothing else to worry about for the rest of the day, for it was time for him to unwind after dealing with a time mandala earlier.
"It's good to be home," he said as he put away his scimitars.
"It's good to hear…," I said as I was relieved to see him alive and safe.
"After going through a labyrinth full of piece-of-crap cars and dealing with a demon, everything else is peachy."
"At least you're home," said Nibori. "Besides, you really know how to find trouble without warning."
"The worst is over, but we should also deal with our other problem," said Marthonus as he was staring at me. "How are you doing right now?"
Minara wheeled me out of the lab of Marthonus' ship as I was more than likely to be tired from all the worry for his safety. He had his own family to deal with as I didn't want him to lose his life so readily. By the time we returned to the castle, I was being wheeled into the infirmary wing as I was once again put in a hospital bed. The pregnancy hadn't accelerated further yet as I also felt my babies still the size of grapefruits instead of cabbages right now.
"Cass and Nibori helped you return home," I said.
"I saw the portal and went for it," said Minara.
"I should've used my raw power to get you out of there when I had the chance. I feel so useless right now…"
"It's only irrelevant if you don't do the right thing," said Castiel as he entered into the room. "Those were the words that I heard from Lord Minara when he ventured into the past."
"And you were acting like a dick in the Elder Days when I saved you," he said.
I started to chuckle as I was trying hard not to feel depressed too much. With Minara home safe and sound, he was still adamant into offering support for me in which he also dealt with Sayoko's gestation in my absence. I didn't say anything else as I was tired from all that worrying, for I had my reasons to do so when it comes to family. As for Minara, on the other hand, he was glad to be back in his timeline as he also couldn't wait to make dessert after dinner, for he was wanting to make apple crisp after all…
Two thousand years into the past…
Bobby was in the kitchen as he was up in the middle of the night the moment he saw the Impala pulling up. After dealing with all the weirdness, he was calling it a day as he also didn't want to think too much about it after all that was said and done. Going into the fridge, he took out the apple crisp that was made earlier as he put it onto the table. He was more than ready to get into it until he heard the door open up and noticed Sam and Dean returning to his place in which there was the looming threat of Lilith coming to get one of them once his contract was up. All three sat down at the table as they were discussing the usual mishaps, but not without dealing with the apple crisp that was there.
"You must've had company here," said Dean as he noticed the kitchen cleaned.
"It was just me having an American Pie moment, ya idjit," said Bobby.
"Well, we just ran into our old friends, Ed Zedmore and Harry Spangler not too long ago," said Sam as he was tired from the last case that was foisted there. "Their show featured a real ghost, but one of their friends died while finding it."
"That's a bummer…"
"You never made apple crisp before until now," said Dean as he spotted it on the table.
"And you always had an obsession with pie, but enjoy this last dessert while it lasts."
"At least you're not having an orgy with it," said Sam as he was trying to be humorous while dealing with the stress of losing Dean. "Baked goods can be essential, but they're not like the Holy Supper."
It wasn't long until Bobby got out a bowl as he dug into the apple crisp that was baked earlier. He also didn't forget about the weirdness that came and went in his house as he noticed Sam and Dean joining in on getting their own bowls and eating at the apple crisp that was prepared earlier. All three were having a moment together before the big dance as the time of dread would soon be at hand. Little did they all know was that Castiel was watching in the distance as he knew of Dean's contract running out, but not without hearing the words from a futuristic Elf who ventured into the past and later returned to the present.
"It's only irrelevant if you don't do the right thing. If Dean's contract is up and dragged into Hell, I suggest that you go into the pit and get his ass out of there if you can."
Castiel was aware of those words directly as he watched over Bobby's house. He would soon find Dean and pull him up from Perdition in the long run, for the future in front of him was always watching without warning…
Meanwhile, back in the present…
Minara was in his quarters as he was writing in his journal. He was even writing letters to his family on Claudius as he missed them dearly. He also missed the presence of Sayoko as he couldn't wait to see her again along with the rest of his family. He remembered the birth very clearly as he also endured the caesarian section that Dean made in order to pull his young daughter out of him, for it was very painful for him at the time. He remembered the excruciating details as it was too much for him when Liesel went in and tried to kill him last year. He was also concerned for my overall health and safety as he refused to back away from his duty to offer support for me. By the time he finished writing in his journal, he left his quarters as he went towards the bathhouse in order to unwind after the long day.
With his clothes stripped, he went towards the wash basin as he was busy cleaning himself. After dealing with the handling of a time mandala, he was tired as he rinsed himself off and went into one of the bathtubs in which he soaked into the warm water. What he also didn't expect was that Castiel was also in there as he was soaking in the hot water. Both angel and High Elf were mainly there to just unwind as they had one hell of a long day that exhausted them both.
"You look like a Terminator Ken doll with that arm and leg that were infused with the raw power that Sam has," said Minara.
"You lost your ink," said Castiel.
"I was trying my damnedest to get back to the present in which I found two angel blades that changed into scimitars with the help of the ink that faded onto them."
"You also saved me from that demon when my brothers were killed two thousand years ago. As for what I had done in the Elder Days, I saved the Dean Winchester of Old from Hell and gripped him tight."
"I know… The annals of the Order's archives sure had to record it sooner or later."
"The call to bring back the Dean Winchester of Old didn't come from my superiors, Lord Minara. The call came from you. I brought him back from the forty years in Hell that he spent down there in which my superiors later found out about it. They ended up using it to their advantage to welcome the Apocalypse all because of the prizefight between Michael and Lucifer."
"I thought that everyone in the Elder Days forgot about the future in front of them… Still, I endured such hell that was put there in front of me in which I lost and gained so much already."
"The loss of Lentulus and Penelope weighed heavily on you after Julilla executed them three years prior. You nearly went what is known to go dark side until Sam intervened to destroy the one who caused you so much toil while destroying Project Ra on the Sol-2. You even gained Mizuwa, but her sad plight was more than enough to foist the egg fertilized from your seed into your body."
"And that was when I Dean rushed in and performed the infamous caesarian section from hell when Liesel put me on her shit list." Minara was also concerned for me as he was worried about what could happen next. "Sam's condition has accelerated his pregnancy in which his use of the raw power was the main catalyst into boosting up against the wishes of the Medical Corps. He's even going through what I endured in which he's been lactating. After I returned back to the present, I got the results from Marthonus in which he noticed a high level of colostrum in the breastmilk sample before it was used in the incantation on the time mandala earlier. It's also because of the food he eats from chicken sandwiches to blueberry pancakes."
Castiel remembered his own ravenous appetite from the Apocalypse as the memory of too many hamburgers being chowed down were too much while under the influence of Famine back then. He was now aware of my own appetite as he was also most likely to be aiding me in the future birth of my babies, for I was also barred from doing any more field work in my convalescence…
The next morning, I was in the hospital room in the infirmary wing as I was relaxing while keeping my feet up due to the adjustable bed that was jacked up. Still, I was bedridden, but I was more than likely to be having my maternal instinct go into overdrive. The movement of the precious cargo in my body kept me awake as I felt the non-stop kicking that was giving me hell. Still, I couldn't move out of bed as I was not only dressed in a hospital gown, but had a catheter inserted into my member. I was in it for the long haul as I heard the door open and noticed Reiko coming into the room to check up on my health. She was also worried for me as I had no other choice but to stay put in the bed I was in, for she was also aware of the long-awaited preparations for my upcoming caesarian section on the horizon.
"You shouldn't fret too much, Sammy," I heard her say to me. "Yesterday, you were worried about Minara in which he went into the past due to the time mandala that was in the kitchen."
"I hate being bedridden," I said as I was still feeling my little ones' constant kicking.
"You're feeling the babies kicking again…" I see Reiko touching at my stomach as she felt the rapid movement that were in the crafted womb they were in. "Oh, you shouldn't exhaust Daddy too much, my little darlings. He is very tired after all that worrying for your Uncle Minara yesterday."
"Normally, it would be you carrying our babies to term, but I'm stuck with them until I endure the horrendous caesarian section that I fear the most."
"You'll be fine, Sammy." I notice Reiko touching at my hand as she was holding it warmly. "There won't be any problems with the upcoming birth of our babies. Besides, you have worried about me too much when I carried our children to term and giving birth."
"I know…" I feel tears streaming down my cheeks as I couldn't help but let out all of my feelings that were there. "Our little ones have been through too much in which they bore the full brunt of danger coming towards them… We're having a boy and a girl, sweetheart. They'll join the rest of our family once they're born."
I felt Reiko hugging me as she assured that nothing bad would happen to me or the babies I carried inside of me. What we didn't expect was that Minara was coming into the room as he was more than likely to be assessing my situation in which he was also aware of my condition that was more than likely to be monitored. Armed with his medical bag, he opened it up as he got out his stethoscope and blood pressure cuff to check my vitals with, for I would be in for a very long stretch during the holidays.
"How's the bed, Sam?" I heard him say to me.
"It's better than the Magic Fingers," I said as I felt the blood pressure cuff wrap around my arm.
"After what happened to me yesterday, I won't touch another time mandala again."
"You went back into the time of the Elder Days, didn't you?" said Reiko.
"I went into Bobby Singer's house, cleaned up his kitchen, and made an apple crisp before hightailing it back to the present."
"You weren't the only one who went to the past. I saw Sammy's past self and Brother's in which they were living in the Men of Letters bunker. I even made some cookies before I returned to the present as well."
"I did collect you, didn't I?" I said as I felt the blood pressure squeezing at my arm. "That was when General Wetzel refused to leave me alone in which he wanted me to be the ultimate prize in this ongoing war. It's been four years since the start of this mess in which there would be no end to it unless we destroy Project Helios. I know that it must be done, but I can't do it at half capacity not only because that I overexerted my raw power, but I have the little ones to take care of. I also have to take care of my own health as well so I won't get too bored in this long grueling furlough."
"It's fair enough to do so," said Minara as he was busy checking on my blood pressure.
I was glad that all was well as I was even more grateful that Minara was safe from harm. Still, he has become a huge support for me as he had so much on his shoulders, for he was with us in the Order due to his compassion that he has kept with him. What we didn't expect was that Castiel was watching in the distance as he was relieved that everything wasn't plunged into chaos, for he was also waiting for the arrival of the precious that I carried just like the rest of us. Staring at Minara, he remembered his presence clearly as he never forgot the words that were spoken to him, for they gave him an edge to do what was right in the end of this long day…
