This is my original concept of a character who arrives in town. Yugi is the King of Games and still has the Millenium Puzzle with his updated deck. Dark Magician heavy and remains undefeated with cards such as Dark Magician Circle and Eternal Soul. He then comes across a man with a scar on his cheek looking to take down the King of Games in a one on one. Nothing on the line. No shadow games. Just a man looking to be the best with cards that are close to him. One in particular. Fallen of Albaz.
Another day of school and another day of learning in the bag. As the bell rang, Yugi was walking side by side with his friends, Joey, Tristian, Bakura and Tea as the team had agreed upon heading over to his grandpa's game shop.
"Hey Yug! I heard that your grandpa got in a few new cards. Any new cards for your best pal?" Joey smiled as he threw his arm around his best mate.
"I don't know! I am actually pretty excited to find out!" With a bright smile, Yugi looked over to Joey and then felt a chill go down his spine. Stopping dead in his tracks, he looked over to the exit of the school yard. There, standing by the door was the new kid not dressed in uniform. Instead, he wore a black coat with a red lining and a scar on his cheek. There was something about him. Mostly seeing as he got in the team's path and did not seem to want to let them leave.
"Yugi. King of Games. I have travelled far to face you. Crossed many miles. It is time for you and I to battle." As he made his demand for a duel, the stranger pulled up his arm and activated his duel disk before loading in his deck.
As Yugi looked over his shoulder to the spirt of the Pharoh not liking this situation, Joey took note of his friend's worried look and stepped ahead of him. "Do you know who this is? Yugi is the King of Games. You just don't step up to the best before you even give us your name. Now if you want a duel, I am more than happy to answer your challenge."
Still staring down Yugi, the stranger stood still ready for a duel. If he had to face his best friend. His arch enemy. Hell, even the whole school, then he would go through each and every one if that was what it took. "Yugi is my target. However, if I have to defeat you to get to him then consider your challenge accepted."
With a smile, Joey pulled on his duel disk and loaded in his deck ready to meet this stranger and the unknown duel ahead of him. "Let's Duel!"
"I'll go first! I start by playing Cards of the Red Stone! By discarding one level 7 Red Eyes card, I can draw two cards! I can then send one Red Eyes card from my deck to the graveyard! Next, I play Alligator's Sword! (Beast/Earth/ATK 1500/DEF 1200) Then I equip him with Axe of Despair! When I switch out my Alligator's sword for an axe this powerful, it raises his attack by 1000 points! (ATK 2500/DEF 1200) Next, I play two cards face down and end my turn!"
Placing two fingers over his deck, the stranger pulled his first card to start his turn. "I draw! I heard about you, Joey Wheeler. Third place in championship tournaments around the globe. Usually playing right behind Yugi and that man. Seto Kaiba!" Pointing to the rich billionaire in the crowd, the stranger had taken note of him coming to watch.
"I know Seto is a fan of dragons, so I want him to keep an eye on this. I play Fallen of Albaz! (Dragon/Dark/ATK 1800/DEF 0) Then I use my monsters special ability! By discarding once card I can fuse using monsters on your side of the field! I use my Fallen of Albaz and your Alligator's Sword to fusion summon Rindbrumm the Striking Dragon! (Dragon/Dark/ATK 2500/DEF 2000) Now with no monsters on your side of the field, I attack you directly! Go Rindbrumm!"
"Not so fast! You may have gotten rid of my defense, but I play my trap card! Skull Dice! Now by rolling a die I can lower your attack depending on the number I roll." Watching as the little demon threw his red die, it hit the ground and bounced over to a three.
"Yes! A three! That means your monsters power lowers down 1500 points!" (ATK lowered to 1000) (Joey's life points 8000-7000)
As Joey grabbed his shoulder and winced, he looked back up to the dragon ahead of him as his opponents turn was coming to an end. "I use my card's special effect! When it is sent to the graveyard, I can place it on the top of my deck!" As the card moved from the Graveyard to the top of Joey's deck, the stranger just shot him a glare. "I place two cards face down and end my turn."
"Alright! This duel is just getting started!" Placing his fingers on his deck, Joey pulled his next card. "I draw! I play Monster Reborn and bring back my Red Eyes Black Flare Dragon! (Dragon/Dark/Gemini/ATK 2400/DEF 2000) Next, I play Premature Burial and bring back my Alligator's Sword! (Beast/Earth/ATK 1500/DEF 1200) I then play my spell card Polymerization to fuse my Alligator's Sword and my Baby Dragon to bring out Alligator Sword Dragon! (Dragon/Wind/ATK 1700/DEF 1500) I then equip it with my Axe of Despair raising it's attack by 1000 points! (ATK 2700/DEF 1500) Now go! Alligator Sword Dragon! Attack his monster! Alligator Sword Dragon attacks and destroys Rindbrumm the Striking Dragon) (Strangers life points 8000-7800) Next, Red Eyes Black Flare Dragon! Attack him directly!"
"Not so fast! I play my trap! Branded Sword!" I banish the Branded Retribution sent to the graveyard by Fallen of Albaz's ability to special summon one Iceblade Token! (Dragon/Dark/ATK 2500/DEF 2000) Now! Call off your attack!"
As Red Eyes Black Dragon backed down, Joey just huffed in frustration. "I am not done! I summon my gemini monster to activate it's ability. Now any monster it destroys, I can inflict damage equal to it's attack points. Now, I end my turn!"
Backed into a corner, the stranger just smiled. "I draw. I use my traps graveyard effect! Branded Retribution. I can banish this card from my graveyard to add one Branded spell card to my hand. I use the effect of my Albion the Shrouded Dragon (Dragon/Dark/ATK 2500/DEF 2000) I can discard one branded spell or trap card in my hand to special summon it! Next I play Branded in Red! I can draw one Fallen of Albaz from my deck to the hand! Then I can fusion summon! I use my Albion the Shrouded Dragon and Fallen of Albaz to bring forth Sprind the Irondash Dragon! (Machine/Dark/ATK 2500/DEF 2000) I then set him right in front of your Alligator's Sword Dragon! His special effect allows me to destroy any monster in his sights! So there goes your fusion monster. Now go! Sprind attack Red Eyes Black Flare Dragon!" (Sprind the Iron Dash Dragon attacks and destroys Red Eyes Black Flare Dragon) (Joey's life points 7000-6900) Next I use my token to attack your directly! (Iceblade Token attacks directly) (Joey's life points 6900-4400)
As Joey winced at the last few attacks, he managed to grab his deck and pull his next card. "I draw! It's time to get serious! I activate Pot of Greed! Allowing me to draw two cards!" Drawing his next cards, Joey smiled. "I play my spell card! Red Eyes Fusion! This allows me to fuse using monsters from my deck! I use my Red Eyes Black Dragon and Gearfried the Red Eyes Iron Knight to bring out Red Eyes Slash Dragon! (Dragon/Dark/ATK 2800/DEF 2400) Go Red Eyes Slash Dragon! Attack his Sprind the Iron Dash Dragon but not before I equip one warrior monster from the graveyard to raise my dragons attack! I choose Gearfried the Red Eyes Iron Knight! (ATK 3000) Now! Red Eyes Slash Dragon! Destroy his Sprind the Iron Dash Dragon!"
"I play my trap! Judgement of the Dragon! I can tribute one fusion monster on my side of the field and destroy all monsters with equal or higher attack!"
"Not before I use my monsters special ability! I can send one equip card from Red Eyes Slash Dragon to negate the effect of one of your cards!" (Red Eyes Slash Dragon sends Gearfried the Red Eyes Iron Knight to the graveyard to negate Judgement of the Dragon dropping its attack back to 2800) (Red Eyes Slash Dragon destroys Sprind the Iron Dash Dragon) (Strangers life points 7800-7500)
"Finally I play Fusion Recovery. I can add one Polymerization and one monster used to fusion summon back to my hand from the graveyard. Now over to you!"
The stranger then felt a surge go through him. Not backing down, he pulled his next card and smiled. "That fusion from your deck. Not a bad move. I think I might use the same move. I play Branded Fusion! I can fuse using Fallen of Albaz from my deck and any monster to summon one of my strongest fusion monsters! Titaniklad the Ash Dragon! (Dragon/Dark/ATK 2500/DEF 2000) His special ability gives him a power boost based on the monsters it used to fuse and their number of stars! I fuse Fallen of Albaz (Level 4) with Albion the Shrouded Dragon! (Level 8) This then raises his attack by 1200! (ATK 3700) Now go my dragon! Destroy his Red Eyes Slash Dragon! (Titaniklad the Ash Dragon destroys Red Eyes Slash Dragon) (Joey's life points 4400-3500) Next, I will attack with my Iceblade Token! (Iceblade Token attacks directly) (Joey's life points 3500-1000)
Unable to come up with a strategy, Joey just placed his hand on his deck and took in a deep breath. He then drew his next card and played it instantly. "I summon Time Wizard! (Spellcaster/Light/ATK 500/DEF 400) Lady luck, don't fail me now! Time Wizard! Time Roulette!" As the Time Wizard moved his wand forward, the clock started to move its hands. It slowly started to move before landing on the time machine to which Joey just smiled wide. "YEAH BABY! Time Wizard! Do your thing!" As the field started to go through centuries, Titaniklad the Ash Dragon dropped and was sent to the graveyard and the Iceblade Token simply evaporated.
"Now! Attack him directly!" (Time Wizard attacks directly) (Strangers life points 7500-7000)
Taking the attack again without even flinching, the stranger watched on and waited until Joey passed his turn.
"We are not done. Titaniklad the Ash Dragon's special ability activates. It allows me to summon Fallen of Albaz if it was destroyed this turn to my side of the field. Come forth my friend." (Dragon/Dark/ATK 1800/DEF 0).
"Oh man. How many times do I have to get rid of this dragon?!"
As the stranger drew his next card, he simply smirked as he answered his opponent's question. "Don't worry. This duel is just about over. I play Branded in White. This card allows me to fusion summon using Fallen of Albaz and by banishing one monster from my graveyard. I use Fallen of Albaz in my graveyard as well as Albion the Shrouded Dragon to summon Brigrand the Glory Dragon! (Dragon/Dark/ATK 2500/DEF 2000) Now go my dragon! Brigrand! Destroy Time Wizard!" (Brigrand the Glory Dragon destroys Time Wizard) (Joey's life points 1000-0)
As Joey dropped and his life points hit zero, the stranger simply stood tall with Fallen of Albaz by his side as his Brigrand the Glory Dragon let out a roar before both disappearing from the field. Pulling his duel disk back into its stationary position on his wrist, he looked from Joey over to Yugi who had an intense look on his face. The stranger just smiled and gave him a nod. "We will meet soon, King of Games."
Before he left, the stranger took one last look at Seto who was watching on keenly. He just smiled before turning to head off. Showing everyone the power of his dragons. He had no doubt that this would now have people talking.
