A/N: I hope you like it :)

It was a snowy Saturday when Shouto was visiting his sister. He had gotten closer to his family. Especially Fuyumi wanted to make up for the time they had lost during his childhood, so she wanted to know everything that was going on his life. Shouto often told her about his friends and was just telling her about his latest meeting with Momo.

"You know, it sounds almost like a date to me." Fuyumi smiled at him after he had finish his story.

"It's not like that." Shouto blushed. "We were training before and her quirk requires her to eat enough to replenish her lipids."

"But you invited her and paid for the dinner?"

"Of course. Mom always told me that if I go out to eat with a girl, I should invite her."

Fuyumi smiled softly at her little brother. Despite how hard their father had trained him and how social awkward Shouto could be, he was nothing if not a gentleman. Teasing him like the older sister that she was, made her feel almost like they were a normal family. She was glad that he had friends now and a normal school life. He had told her his classmates often complained when they had normal school activities, but Fuyumi knew how much her brother enjoyed the normality of it.

Of course he also spoke to her about the difficult exams and hero training, so in that regard it was a special school after all. When Shouto had told her about his latest final exam against his teacher, he had first told her about Momo. The way he had described the other recommended student had caught Fuyumi's interest. It had been the first time Shouto had talked to her about a girl and he had been talking about the creation hero and her plan with so much admiration that it had made Fuyumi smile. Since then he talked more often about her and two weeks ago they had started training together. What he had told her now supported her theory that he was feeling more for Momo. Maybe she could push him a little bit in the right direction.

"Would you want to go on a real date with her?" Fuyumi asked him smiling.

"Dates are only for couples, we're friends."

Sometimes her brother could be so clueless when it came to social interactions, but she had to try.

"Think about it. Do you really feel the same when you're spending time with Izuku and Tenya or is there something special when you're with Momo? Maybe you sometimes feel nervous for no reason or your heart starts racing when you see her. Your quirk might even start acting up." When Fuyumi saw how thoughtful Shouto looked, she gently lay a hand on his shoulder. "You don't have to answer me now. Just think about it and maybe you will find something out about your own feelings. Relationships to others, no matter if it's friendship or love, are important and I want you to treasure them."

"I'll think about what you told me." Shouto smiled slightly at her.

When Fuyumi said goodbye to her little brother, she hoped that he would really think about what she had said to him. Momo seemed just like the person he needed in his life, someone caring and gentle who would give him time to realize his feelings.

Two weeks later Shouto came home again and when they both sat down with a cup of tea, she teased him about what she assumed was another date that he didn't consider a date.

"How was your none date?"

"Well, it was a date this time." Shouto said almost shyly and a deep blush could be seen on his face. "I took your words to heart and thought about them and I really feel more for Momo than friendship."

In the background Fuyumi saw Enji enter the house, but it seemed that Shouto hadn't noticed him. Greeting her father would surely make Shouto leave, so she stayed quiet. To her surprise she saw that Enji stay in the hallway hidden behind the door. Did he want to listen to them? It was strange for him to behave like this, but maybe he didn't want to disturb them. But why didn't he leave for his office then? Thinking about the way her father had changed, one thought struck Fuyumi. Maybe he wanted to hear what Shouto had to say but knew that his son would never talk to him so openly, so he stayed hidden.

"I took her out to dinner without training with her before." Shouto's words pulled her out of her thoughts.

It shouldn't have surprised her that Shouto hadn't been very creative with his date invitation, but she was just happy that he had asked Momo on a date. There was always room for improvement and Fuyumi had a few date ideas that Shouto could use. However there was one important question, now that she knew what they had done for their date.

"But you said to her that it was a date, right?" When Shouto nodded Fuyumi sighed in relief. "So how was it? Did you like it?"

"At first I was nervous. I mean we went to dinner before, but with it being a date I didn't know what to say. I was probably failing badly, but Momo didn't say anything about it and instead began talking about our training. Since we talk about that all the time, I forgot about my nervousness and the rest of the evening felt more natural." Here he stopped for a moment and a blush found its way on his cheeks. "I really enjoyed it. I even asked her to go to the aquarium with me tomorrow. The girls in my class have been talking about going for a while and Momo seems so excited about it that I thought she would like it."

The creation hero really sounded like a great girl to Fuyumi. She had obviously been so considerate and gentle on the date that it warmed Fuyumi's heart. Shouto had surely been his social awkward self and Momo had attempted to make him feel less nervous by bringing up something that she knew Shouto felt comfortable talking about.

"You really have to introduce her to me. She sounds like an amazing girl."

"She really is." Shouto smiled.

From the corner of her eyes Fuyumi saw their father leave into his office. She had to ask him about his behavior. An hour later Shouto left and Fuyumi got the opportunity to ask him. She knocked on her father's office door and when he told her to come in, she stepped inside.

"Why didn't you join us?"

"I'm sure that Shouto wouldn't want me there when he talks about the girl he likes." There was a certain sadness in his voice. Their father wasn't a bad person per se, but the way he had treated Shouto had strained the relationship between father and son. Enji had tried to become a better father after realizing his mistakes, but Fuyumi knew that he was right, Shouto wouldn't appreciate that his father knew about his love interest. So in the end Enji wanted to be part of his son's life without actually letting Shouto know.

"Maybe one day you can talk with him about things like that." Fuyumi said reassuringly and gently patted her father's shoulder.

The next few months Fuyumi saw her brother the happiest he had ever been. When he came to visit and she asked about Momo, he was still very shy about talking about his dates with the creation hero, but it was obvious to Fuyumi how good Momo was for him. Judging by her brother's description of Momo, she was a gentle and caring person, someone who put others before herself. Fuyumi was even sure that her brother was already deeply in love with Momo without really knowing it, so his revelation on his next visit came unexpected.

"How are things with Momo?" Fuyumi smiled teasingly when the two sat down with their tea. However when the usual blush didn't appear on her brother's face, she realized that something must be wrong. "Shouto, what happened?"

Fuyumi saw Shouto's hands clench into fists and his voice was strained with barely suppressed anger.

"She had a dinner with her parents yesterday. Their company wants a cooperation with an influential business partner. They have a heir, who wants a powerful quirk user by his side and Momo fits the role perfectly."

Fuyumi saw a small flame appear and flicker in the hallway. Her father was listing to their conversation once again and quirk marriages weren't a good topic in general and especially not in this family. Her father surely felt even worse now.

"I'm sorry, Shouto." Fuyumi lay one of her hands on Shouto's clenched ones. "Maybe you two can talk to her parents and explain that you're already in a relationship and therefor a marriage with someone else is not an option for Momo."

"What is there to talk about? Parents decide for their children. I should know that." There was bitterness in his voice and Fuyumi couldn't blame him.

Since Shouto had told her about his first real date with Momo, Fuyumi had seen how happy he had been. Now it seemed that his happiness had only lasted a few months before heartbreak settled in.

From the corner of her eyes Fuyumi saw the flame in the hallway leave. Shouto's words had been overheard by Enji and Fuyumi could imagine that they reminded their father of his behavior in the past.

A few days later Fuyumi was about to knock on her father's office door to call him downstairs for dinner, when she stopped in front of the closed door. Through the door she could hear what her father was saying to someone on the phone.

"You're about to make a mistake, that would hurt your daughter deeply. There was a time when I shared your opinion about quirk marriages, but instead of bringing me the power that I wanted, it destroyed my family. I'm not only saying this because my son is dating your daughter, but because this is a mistake no parent should make."

Normally Fuyumi wouldn't eavesdrop, but what she heard was enough to stay where she was.

When Enji had said goodbye to who Fuyumi assumed were Momo's parents, she entered the office without knocking.

"You were eavesdropping." He said when she entered.

"Like father like daughter. You listen to Shouto and my conversations as well." Fuyumi smiled gently. "What you just did was great."

"It was the only thing I could do. Shouto might never forgive me, but I'll try my best to be a better father to him. No matter what he thinks about me, I want him to be happy and I know that this girl, Momo, can do that."

A week after Enji's phone call Shouto brought Momo home for the first time and Fuyumi was more than excited. However what surprised her was that Shouto had insisted on Enji being there for the family dinner. Never before had he asked when Enji was home, quite the opposite, he mostly visited when he knew that his father wouldn't be there.

The first thing Fuyumi noticed, when she greeted the couple at the front door, was that Shouto was holding Momo's hand. Her brother was normally very withdrawn when it came to physical affection, especially when other people were around, but it seemed that with Momo it was different. The next thing Fuyumi noticed was smile on both of their faces. While Momo's smile was a shy one, Shouto's was proud.

When they entered the living room Momo smiled softly at Enji, who had stood up to greet them.

"It's nice to meet you." The creation hero bowed, before straightening up again. "I wanted to thank you in person. My parents told me that you spoke to them about my planned quirk marriage. Thank you for making them realize what they were about to do. I'm very grateful that I can stay in a relationship with Shouto."

"I should know how much of an impact a quirk marriage can have, especially on the children of that marriage." He glanced slightly at Shouto. "Your parents would have made a mistake if they had gone through with this arrangement. For parents it should always come first what their children want and not what is best for them. That is a lesson I had to learn."

After a brief moment of silence Shouto addressed his father for the first time since they had arrived.

"I want to thank you as well."

Fuyumi saw the surprise in her father's eyes and how the look in his eyes melted to a gentle one that she had last seen when she was little. It was a rare moment between father and son and even though she was family, Fuyumi felt almost as if she was intruding. She looked at Momo, who was smiling softly and Fuyumi silently thanked her. Momo had not only made her brother happy, but she was also the reason why this moment between their father and Shouto was happening. Maybe they still had a chance to be a family.
