(Hogwarts Infirmary - 10 March 1980)

On one of the beds, a girl could be seen; her swollen abdomen, sweaty body, rapid breathing, and pained facial expression all indicating that she was pregnant and going into labor.

The girl was around 18 years old with pale white skin, long dark blonde hair that went to about halfway down her shoulder blades, green eyes, high cheekbones, a hooked nose, a slim and decently tall figure, at least when not pregnant. All she was dressed in at the moment was a long-sleeved hospital gown.

"Alright now, Elice," said Madam Pomfrey. "I need you to push!"

(A/N: Skipping the birth scene since I'm not good with writing those.)

(Around an hour later)

Madam Pomfrey held the now cleaned up and sleeping bundle out to the exhausted girl who with a frown slowly and hesitantly took the baby before cradling it to take a good look.

"Well, dear, what will you name her?" asked the old matron, smiling expectantly.

Elice looked unsure for a moment before answering.

"Her name will be Helena Nott." said the girl, the corners of her mouth turning upward slightly before returning to a frown.

The matron smiled.

"A lovely name for a lovely girl, I'll leave you two alone for a bit to get acquainted." said the matron, turning to leave only to stop and turn around when the girl spoke again.

"No, take the thing away; I need some time to rest, and I think it can live without me for a few hours after spending nine months inside my body." she said, an angry expression on her face.

Madam Pomfrey looked irked by the girl's sudden change in attitude as she took the bundle from the Slytherin girl and left.

Elice looked on as the old matron left and waited for a bit before rolling up her left sleeve, a look of contemplation on her face as she stared at the tattoo on her forearm, the Dark Mark.

(11 Years later)

(King's Cross Station - 1 September 1991)

A girl around 11 years old could be seen looking around confused as she pushed a trolley full of luggage and a caged dark owl in front of her.

The girl had pale white skin, high cheekbones, a hooked nose, and hazel eyes. Her brown hair was tied in a French braid. She wore a black blazer over a white dress shirt, with a black skirt, white stockings and black shoes. She had a black satchel with a strap over her right shoulder. Everything on her was brand new.

"Where the fuck is this so-called Platform 9 3/4?" she cursed in frustration, a bad habit she'd picked up in her years in the orphanage and with her adoptive parents.

The girl looked around for a bit longer before she noticed something peculiar between platforms 9 and 10. There she saw a middle-aged redheaded woman and a redheaded girl who looked a bit younger than herself running towards the wall and phasing into it upon making contact.

Upon seeing this, the girl realized that this was likely what she had been looking for; therefore, without wasting any time, she ran as fast as she could with her trolley straight towards the wall, closed her eyes, and just like the woman and child, she phased into it.

What she saw after opening her eyes was a sight to see.

The station looked much more bright and warm than on the other side of the wall. There were people of all ages and races walking around, they wore either regular clothing or old robes. The train itself looked like an older model. There were many children who much like her were pushing around their own luggage trolleys.

The corners of the girl's mouth almost went up in a smile of excitement until she realized something that made her glower with jealousy.

All the children she saw were walking with friends or family that loved and cared about them.

She got on the train with a huff of anger and quickly searched for an empty compartment.

For once in the girl's life, luck seemed to be on her side as it didn't take long for her to find an empty compartment which she quickly entered.

As soon as she put her luggage away and took a seat, she removed a book from her satchel. It was a book on basic offensive spells that she bought on a private trip to Daigon Alley with some of her allowance.

Soon another person opened the door to the compartment. A girl with light skin, shoulder-length platinum blonde hair and fancy clothing silently entered and began putting her luggage away before sitting down across from the brunette.

An awkward silence ensued for a bit as the brunette ignored the blonde and continued to read from her book.

A slight look of annoyance appeared on the blonde girl's face.

"Aren't you going to introduce yourself?" asked the blonde girl irritably.

"I don't remember being the one who just barged in on someone who was just minding their own business, but since you asked so nicely, it's Helena Fredericks." responded the brunette with a sarcastic smile, her eyes remaining on her book.

The blonde girl looked slightly flustered.

"Daphne, Daphne Greengrass." stammered the blonde girl.

The brunette looked up from her book and at the blonde with a serene smirk on her face.

"Charmed." replied the brunette with fake regality before removing a Walkman with headphones from her satchel.

She placed the headphones on her ears and switched on the device before going back to her book.

The rest of the train ride went by without conversation between the two girls.

(A while later)

(Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry)

Helena had enjoyed the trip from Hogsmeade Station to the castle.

On the boat ride she was put with Daphne and a girl named Tracey Davis. Luckily for Helena, the conversation between herself and Davis was limited to an exchange of names.

The girl was amazed by the sheer size and beauty of the castle. Even though she'd been living in one of the biggest mansions in Sussex, that couldn't even nearly compare to this.

"Gather round first years." called out Hagrid.

The first years were soon met by Professor Mcgonagall who introduced herself and led them to the Great Hall.

"Welcome to Hogwarts." said the witch politely.

"Now, in a few moments you will pass through these doors and join your classmates, but before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses." said the witch before becoming more serious.

"They are Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin." continued the witch, the last house being mentioned with what seemed like a slight bit of distaste.

"Now, while you're here, your house will be like your family." continued the witch, just as serious as before.

"Your triumphs will earn you points." says the witch before continuing.

"Any rule breaking will lose you points." said the witch.

Mcgonagall spoke about the house cup before being cut off when Neville Longbottom ran up to retrieve his pet toad, Trevor.

As the witch left, she couldn't help but feel sorrow in her heart for two particular students, Harry Potter and Helena Fredericks(Nott).

Both being raised by the worst sort of muggles imaginable. She couldn't get that sick feeling out of her head that Fredericks had it much worse than she let on.

(A while later)

"Helena Fredericks." called out Mcgonagall, sorrow festering in her heart.

The hat gave some interesting insight to the girl. It told her about her blood being more pure than she knew, how her birth parents were followers of you know who, how she had a thirst for knowledge, strength and vengeance, but how she had to let people in and how her cunning and ambition made her perfect for only one house.

"SLYTHERIN!" shouted the hat to complete silence.

The girl got up and went to her house table where she was met mostly with glares and whispers. Only Greengrass and Davis seemed to hold pity for the girl.

She ignored all of them though. After what she'd been through in her life, bullies were something rather pedestrian.

"Just wait till my father hears about this pathetic little mudblood being put in our house." spat Draco Malfoy while glaring at Helena who simply ignored everyone.

"Now, now, Draco, she is still our housemate no matter how some of us may feel." said Gemma Farley in slight distaste.

(A little bit later)

A grey and white owl flew through the hall and dropped a letter in front of Helena.

Her housemates and others looked surprised.

The girl quickly opened the letter and began to read.

To Helena

I know that this might come as a shock to you, but I am your grandfather. I'm sorry that I have not spoken to you before or that you have had to live life without knowing your true family, but with what happened to your mother and father, I believed that it would have been better for you away from the magical world. I truly hope that you could forgive me and that we can meet soon.

Much Love

Your Grandfather

Mr C

My main idea for a pairing is either HelenaxDraco or HelenaxNeville and it can either be a happy love or a scary love. Leave a review to say which you'd like.

Hope you come back to read more.
