Tony was walking down the hallway with Natasha and Steve discussing new weapons when they overheard a phone call.

"Please Don't do this. I need the loan or I'm going to lose my apartment. I'm looking for a better paying job. I just need time." A voice said.

The three avengers looked down the hallway to see a young woman in a brown jumpsuit. Beside her was a janitorial cart.

A sniff from the woman showed she was trying not to cry. "I understand. Thanks for letting me know."

She hung up the phone taking a watery breath. An older male janitorial staff member stepped out looking concerned.

"They reject you?" He asked.

"Yeah. I don't know what to do. If I don't have rent money by the end of next week, I'm going to be evicted. What do I do, James? I can't handle another pay cut." The woman said in despair.

James shook his head. "I wish i could help Katie but I'm 2 months behind on mortgage since the pay cuts started happening. My daughter has cancer and between the doctor visits and medication my wife and I are strapped. I'm going to need to find a new job or take on a second job to make ends meet."

Tony walked over with a frown. "Hey there. I'm sure you know who i am but just to be clear. I'm Tony Stark and your boss. What pay cuts are you talking about because I have never ordered pay cuts to my staff before."

James and Katie started in shock at the man. Natasha and Steve followed behind wondering what was going on.

Tony pulled out his phone. "Friday, show me what my janitorial staff is supposed to make."

"Here it is boss." Friday said

Tony turned the phone around showing the two. "My staff are paid excellent here. In fact I pay the most for this position in New York. Surly this amount is not too low."

The two started in shock.

"That's not what we make. We aren't over minimum wage." James said in disbelief.

Katie reached into her pocket and pulled out a record that showed her new pay since the most recent pay cut.

Tony took it and looked at the time sheet.

The avengers members and janitorial staff watched as his eyebrows shot up in shock before it was replaced by absolute fury.

Tony snarled " Friday dig through human resources records and find out who's stealing from my employees."

Natasha leaned over to glance at the papers and was shocked. This was not good.

Tony's eyes turned to the two fearful workers and took a breath. "Do not worry about your mortgage or rent. I will personally take care of it. Please tell any employee that is also suffering under the pay cuts to give me time. I will get this straightened out. Can I borrow this, Miss. Jones?"

Katie licked her lips and nodded.

Tony turned and walked down the hallway hitting a button on his phone before raising it to his ear.

"Tony, got a question about my new bow." Clint said with a smile.

"Not now, Clint. Pepper, we have a serious problem." Tony said angrily

Clint frowned. "What is that about?"

Natasha sighed "someone is stealing from the company and employees."

Clint whistled "someone is about to get it."

Katie and James shared a look before deciding to get back to work. The were not sure what was about to happen but it would be big.

Next Day

Katie licked her lips as the floor filled with the Janitorial staff and handyman from Avengers tower and compound. An email came last night for a mandatory meeting. Whispers were going around on what it could be.

The door opened and in walked tony stark with his CEO Pepper Potts and another man following them.

Tony turned to the waiting crowd with a sad smile. "Thanks for coming everyone. I first want to apologize for not keeping a better eye on the company. It came to my attention that you all have suffered significant cuts to your pay for the last three years. An investigation has happened and the human resources employee who was stealing from you has been arrested and fired as well as the head of human resources for negligence in their duty."

Katie found James's eyes and stared in shock.

"Pepper and our new Human Resources directory Huston Lane will be meeting with each of you to go over your new pay as well as discuss any hardships you have suffered because of the pay cuts administrated without SI approval. Friday will also be keeping an eye on HR to ensure this never happens again. We will also be working with the police to get what money we can get back. I value all my employees from the CEO to the janitorial staff. We could not run without you. I will tell you this. Your pay should jump up to triple or more than what you are making now. " Tony said with a look at Katie.

One by one employees started clapping in joy at their amazing boss.

Pepper Potts and Huston Lane met with each employee to update them and check on how they were doing.

Katie cried as Ms. Potts assured her that her rent was caught up and the next month covered so she could get everything else caught up with her new pay.

James wept severely at knowing SI would cover his little girl's cancer treatments as well as get her to the best doctors.

Everyone was blessed to know they had an amazing caring boss like Tony Stark.
