The twins heard the vehicles before anyone laid eyes on them. Three vehicles entered Singer Salvage, a beat up truck, a van and a hotrod. Emma watched with interest when she saw it was all females who exited the vehicles. The woman looked pretty rough and tough as if they'd been through the wars and survived.

"It's all women and they look like hunters!"

Bobby put down his shotgun when he saw Val, "That's because they are hunters." He opened the door and found a group of pissed off females. An elegant woman who curtly introduced herself as Soo-Jin, then brushed past the man as if she owned the place. Soo-Jin swept her eyes over the occupants of the home, silently judging them. Val joined her along with a hand full of other women, one of them was holding a screaming baby.

Soo-Jin took a crying baby from her friend's arms and handed the infant to a confused Sam Winchester, "This is partly your doing, now its your duty to raise this child."

Dean folded his arms and glared at his mate, "What the fuck is she talking about?"

"I-I don't know, Dean it's not what you're thinking! I don't know who she is or whose baby this is, I swear!"

Val stepped in before a fight broke out and with a dour expression, the elder woman bowed her head, "We went to the omega compound to do some trading and," she swallowed hard, "we found a disaster. The communal building was blown to bits and everyone inside had died. By the time we got there they were burning the dead and Cal…" her voice trailed off.

Dean grabbed her shoulder, "What about Cal?"

"They shot him, he's dead. This baby girl was his late in life baby, Cal's happy accident with his mate. Mia survived only because her father hid her in the forest. He went back to fight but didn't survive."

Sam held the precious baby close to his body, "Who did this?"

Val's head snapped up at the sound of Sam's voice and though she knew none of this was his fault she wanted to lash out at him, "They wanted you, wanted your blood so they could come up with a cure for this virus. Ro Corp has been hunting you for a long time. Who knows how many people have died along the way."

Dean stepped between them, "Whoa, hey its not his fault. He was a teenager when they took him and how the hell was Sam or anyone else supposed to know he carried a cure? So you can back off, lady, and as for the kid, bring her back where she came from. There are plenty of omegas to raise her."

"You two owe Cal, you especially Dean. He helped you and you know it. Mia has no family left and yeah, someone could take her in but she's safer this way."

"Safer with us? Yeah, not really. Especially since they're after Sam. How do you know they want his blood?"

"Cal scrawled a note, it said "Sam's blood".

Cayden stepped forward and held out his arms, "I will raise her as my own daughter. I'll make sure she's safe." He didn't bother to ask Bobby because there was no need. The hunter knew there would be no discussion from the resolute look on his wife's face. "Let's warm up some formula for you, precious one. Bobby, we still have cans of it in storage?"

"Yeah, I'm sure we do." Bobby let out a sigh of resignation, "I'll go fetch some. You know we need to discuss all this."

"I know. Oh, and get Danny's old crib and, well you know the baby drill."

…..

The women set up camp in Bobby's yard for several reasons, to make sure they gave Mia to the right people and to formulate a plan of attack against the people and the company instrumental in the murders. Sam for his part, wanted to find out if his blood really did have the properties to synthesize a cure for the supernatural virus. His biggest concern though was for his family, worried these people would come after his children. There had to be someone he could trust who would not endanger his family in the process or betray them, someone to take his blood and get it into the right hands to make a cure.

Sam watched his daughter through the window, she was sitting in the large circle around a fire with the adult women discussing what it was like to be a female hunter, no doubt.

Dean was busy getting drunk on the porch as his way of grieving the loss of his friend and mentor and all the innocent lives lost at the compound. Dean had a special bond with Cal that went beyond friendship. Cal and Jamie were the two people who really helped him accept himself and his body as it was, that there was nothing to change even if he could have. He remembered his mentor telling him he was perfect just as he was. At the best of times, it was tough to love anything about himself especially with a dad who knocked him down every chance he got.

Nick sat beside his mom on the porch swing. He knew Dean was drunk and though it didn't happen often, it hurt to see him this way. Being a gifted empath did not help either, all he wanted was for his mom to be ok. Dean always avoided talking about his past but Nick imagined it must have been very painful. He held Dean's hand and squeezed.

"I'm sorry about your friend and the others at the…what do you call it?"

"The compound. You and your sister never got to see it and now I regret not taking you there. It's a special place."

It was easy for Dean to cry when he was drunk, he could just pretend it never happened the next day. Nick had that effect on others just by being near, he heightened the emotions they were felt. Nick thought how beautiful his mother was when his big green eyes were wet with tears, dark lashes damp spikes and the way his lips and cheeks colored from the sadness. He wished they were happy tears instead; his mother didn't deserve the pain he was feeling.

"Maybe, when this is over, we could go there and help them. I'd like to see this special place and meet the special people. Emma and I are hard workers, I think we could help."

Dean ruffed up his son's dark hair, "Man, how did I luck out and end up with two great kids? Must be all that Sammy in you."

"Nah, its part you, part dad, and part us just being awesome."

Dean looked at the half empty whisky bottle he'd been working on and set it on the porch rail, "Let's go inside, kiddo."

"Ok but you've gotta be quiet because Nana just got Mia to sleep. Is she like, our sister now or cousin or what?"

"She's family and we'll work out the particulars later."

"Oh, ok." Nick did his best imitation of his grandpa, "Because family don't end with blood."

"Exactly."

….

Edgar didn't find Sam Winchester there but he found something almost as good, information. The next stop was Singer Salvage and given what was written in one of their targets journals, this place was their home away from home. He considered torching the cabin but decided against it. He didn't want his prey on high alert. Abaddon would be more than angry if he went back empty handed, she would kill him. Not that it would matter, if anyone deserved killing, it was Edgar.

…..

It was sunrise just two days after the hunters showed up at Bobby Singer's home when a large, armored truck parked at the gate, blocking the exit. A group of men, ten strong, exited the back and cab. The women were immediately alerted by dogs at the Singer place and gathered their weapons. The Winchesters and Singers immediately responded in kind.

Bobby raised his rifle, getting a bead on the biggest one in the bunch, "That's far enough. Who are you and why are you here? Think carefully because I'll put a bullet in your head if I don't like the answer."

Val recognized one if the men, "Wait, I know him."

The elder omega held up his hand in greeting, "I'm Tomas from the compound."

Sam hung his head and although he had nothing to be ashamed of, he braced himself for a verbal attack. Dean stepped in front of his brother and their children stood beside them in a show of Winchester solidarity. Sam stepped out from behind and walked right up to the man.

"I'm Sam Winchester. I'm so sorry about what happened there. I know they were looking for me"

The old man cocked his head, "It was not your fault. I don't know why 47 of our people had to die, including out leader but I want these men dead. You can ease your guilty conscious by helping us hunt them down."

Dean grabbed Sam by the hand, "I'm game."

Sam nodded, "Of course I'll help but Dean, we talked about this, I need to find her first."

"No way Sam, she can't be trusted."

"She helped save me Dean, of course we can trust her. We are going to end this, all of it."
