"You know, this might be the best idea of this vacation yet," Jack said, sighing as he leaned back his head and closed his eyes, enjoying the evening's hot tub experience.

"Mmm," Lisa nodded, already almost half asleep as she was relaxing and enjoying the hot tub herself. She didn't even open her eyes, "We may need to do this every evening. Very relaxing, and," she sat up now, looking around as she started to laugh, "I think I fell asleep."

Jack started to laugh and opened his eyes too, the two sitting next to each other in the hot tub. He gave her a nod, "I want to sit here and admit I'd have saved you if you'd slipped into the water while sleeping, but I have to be honest," he dropped his head chuckling, "I think I fell asleep too."

"Quite the pair," Lisa grinned, reaching to clasp his hand in the water.

"I want to know how we both work these insanely long days at home, but we didn't do that much today, and I'm this tired."

"It's all the stress from home and the exhaustion catching up with you," Lisa tugged at their hands, eyeing him. "You know it is. That's why you need a vacation once in awhile, to reset, relax, and just enjoy life."

"Well, today's been a great day," Jack winked at her. "Enjoyed sleeping in a little, our walk, sitting around reading and talking, that little salad place we found for lunch, both of us napping, another walk, I mean," he threw up his free hand, "we've just been doing a little bit of everything today."

"And," she pointed at him with her free hand, "you tried Cuban food." Lisa grinned at him, "I should say you tried Cuban food and liked it."

He nodded in agreement, "I'll admit, I wasn't too excited about that. I mean, I had some flashbacks to places you've tried to get me to eat before, that country we won't speak of," he frowned at her, and she closed her eyes in a silent chuckle. "I'm on board with Cuban food. I like how they season their meats."

"I enjoyed it too," she nodded at him, "have the few times I've eaten it while on trips down here."

"Can't pronounce any of it, but the chicken and beef tips were very good. Now, that Cuban bread," he nodded with a slight smile, "that was some of the best bread."

"I'm so glad you liked it," Lisa grinned. As she was looking over at Jack, they both turned their heads when her cell phone text alert went off. She pulled her hand from Jack's and turned to dry off her hand on the towel the two had there by the hot tub, and she reached for both her phone and her reading glasses.

She burst out laughing as she looked at her phone and glanced at Jack. He sighed and rolled his eyes, as he gestured with his free hands, "I don't even have to ask-what are the girls giggling about now? You've been sending them pictures all day."

"Oh, they have had plenty to say," Lisa grinned at him as she typed on her phone. When she finished, she put the phone down and turned back toward Jack, reaching for his hand and pulling herself closer toward him until she was shoulder to shoulder with him and put her head on his shoulder.

"I'm sure I've been the laughingstock of the ranch," he grumbled, and Lisa leaned up and kissed him quickly.

"No, not at all," she nudged his shoulder as she rested her head again on his shoulder. "In fact, that was Amy, and she said we should use that nice picture I took of us this morning out on the sand with the ocean behind us as a Christmas card picture, but what made me laugh was she followed it up by saying no one would believe it was a picture of you on vacation at the beach. I've only been sending the photos to Amy, Lou, and Katie. Katie coined the trip, 'Gigi Breaking Loose in Florida'."

"My own family all making fun of me for trying something new," he said with a smirk, trying to act hurt. Lisa chuckled, nudging his ribs with her elbow. "What am I breaking loose from? You know, she's been on occasion calling us both Gigi, so what makes you think it's me?"

"Oh, it's definitely you, and I guess you're breaking loose from your normal routine, normal dress," she waved at him there. "You're trying all new things, and Katie is proud of you. We've both been encouraging her to do a lot of that lately, and she has. So, be happy they are asking about you."

"I might just resort back to my jeans," he glanced at her with a grumble. He tried to hold his face, but Lisa rolled her eyes and started laughing, and Jack finally broke down laughing too.

"Hmm, you do that. That would last for all of maybe a half hour with this heat. We are all very proud of you for coming on this vacation, which is why the girls have been asking for pictures all day. Lyndy said she wanted you to both wear shorts this summer at home," Lisa covered her mouth, laughing, "and said she didn't know you owned any. Of course, you didn't until a couple weeks ago. You do have to admit, Jack, that most of Hudson would be shocked to realize we are on vacation in Florida."

"Great, just great. Next thing, I'll be the centerfold of the newspaper again, this time in shorts not on my horse for Garland Food." That had both of them break out into a laugh again as they continued to relax in the hot tub. They dropped into a comfortable silence until Lisa started to chuckle, and Jack eyed her. The two were still sitting side by side, hands clasped.

"You really need to be thanking me for not sending any of this to Tim or Jessica." Jack groaned, and they grew quiet again, just listening to the evening sounds-the hot tub, the ocean waves breaking in the distance, and even the sounds of a few people out on the beach.

"So, our fishing trip is now tomorrow morning, first thing? Good think we rested today."

"Hmm, yes," Lisa nodded, glancing up at him. "I'm glad they didn't just cancel it, but I'm a little ahh, curious I suppose what this tropical system is supposed to be coming through at the end of the week. I definitely wouldn't want to be out on a boat for that. Hopefully, the water isn't too choppy tomorrow."

"Didn't you tell me they didn't have hurricanes this time of year? I mean, what are we talking about? I can do tornadoes, wildfires, blizzards, hail, and even flooding, but what are we getting into with a tropical system as they are saying?"

"Well," Lisa made a face, "when the fishing company called earlier today and woke us from our nap, while you got us a glass of wine then, I looked up hurricanes and tropical systems. Apparently, hurricane season ends November 30th."

"Great," Jack waved his free hand, "like a hurricane has a calendar."

"I know," she nudged at their joined hands, "but exactly, that's about when things die down. The articles I read said it depends on how hot it is and how warm the water is, basically if conditions are favorable to form a tropical system. This is just supposed to be a tropical storm, but yes, that means some strong wind and a good amount of rain. It sounds like it's a few hours, so it might just be a rainy Friday by the time we get there, definitely not a day we'd want to be on a fishing boat. Maybe we'll have some fish from our adventure tomorrow we can cook up on this tropical system day we get."

"Alright," Jack sighed. "First big vacation in, what, over 10 years," he grumbled, "and we get an off-season tropical system." Lisa burst out laughing at that, nodding in agreement.

"Yes, we've always said our trips always hit a snag. Well, France didn't have hurricanes or any tropical systems. You have to give credit where credit is due."
