Scrooge stopped crying and opened his eyes. He is holding onto his bedsheet. "Huh?" Scrooge asked, voice still shaky. "Am I..."

He quickly got off his bed, messing up his blankets in doing so. He felt his curtains. "They're still here!" He then pat himself down. "I'm still here!"

He looked at the clock, now reading eight in the morning. "It's eight! I'm alive!" He did a small dance before he ran to his bunker door. He opened the rock. "Hey! You!" Scrooge called to a yellow Troll with dark purple hair.

"Yes?" she asked.

"What's today?"

"Today?"

"Yeah!"

"Well, today is Christmas, sir," she replied.

"Christmas?" Scrooge checked.

"Yes?"

"I haven't missed it!" Scrooge exclaimed from the doorway. "Hey, you know that big game turkey?"

"The one bigger than me? Yeah, why?"

"Go buy it."

"What?"

"I mean it!" Scrooge replied. "I'll pay you for it!"

"Really?"

"Yeah! One bag-no-two bags of Stars for it!"

Scrooge ran inside his bunker for a second, then came back out, tossing two tied bags to the Troll. She opened it to check if he was being honest. "Are you sure, sir? This...this is a lot of Stars!"

"I'm positive! Go buy the turkey!"

"Right away, sir!" She ran off. Scrooge danced again, then ran into his bunker to change. He came back out shortly later, wearing his usual suit and tie.

Scrooge happily walked through the village, greeting those he passed with "Merry Christmas!" Some of the Trolls were confused but greeted him back, while others had no hesitation in wishing him the same.

Scrooge ran into the small donation Troll from the day before. "Hey!" Scrooge called. She turned. "Oh, hello, Mr. Scrooge," she replied.

"Remember the donation from before?"

"Yeah?"

"I've changed my mind." Scrooge leaned closer to the small Troll and whispered in her ear. Both of her ears poked up when he moved away. "That much, sir?" she cried.

"That's right," Scrooge answered. "And nothing less!"

"Do you-"

"Leave it anonymous," Scrooge winked.

"Righto!" she said, saluting.

Scrooge met the Troll kid he sent for the turkey again. "Thank you!" Scrooge said.

"Where should I put it?"

"I can take it," Scrooge said.

"Here you go, sir," she exclaimed, handing Scrooge the large turkey. "You may need to boost it with your hair."

"Thank you! Here's another for your trouble!" Scrooge handed her a large, shiny gem, with little bits extending out of it, with rounded tips. "T-thank you, sir!"

"Of course!" The Troll kid ran off, excited, shoving the Star into her hair. Scrooge shoved the fresh turkey in his hair and began walking, hands behind his back. "I'll scare Bob Cratchit!" he exclaimed. Scrooge walked back to his office and sat down at his desk.

After an hour of waiting, Bob Cratchit ran through the door, paused in the doorway, took a breath, and walked towards Scrooge. "Mr. Scrooge-"

"You're late, Mr. Cratchit," Scrooge interrupted him, darkly.

"But, uh, Mr. Scrooge, I thought you said I didn't have to come in today!"

"Did I?" Scrooge asked, not looking up from his fake paperwork.

"Well, yes, I...I thought that you said if I work an extra day, I could get today off. I said that it was Christmas, sir."

"I don't remember doing that," Scrooge said. "Because you are late, I'm going to have to..." Bob Cratchit put his head down, "give you a raise," he continued in his grave tone.

"I'm sorry, si-wait, did you say a raise?"

"Yes, I did!" Scrooge said, standing. "I have a gift I'd like to give you but it would be an honor to deliver it personally, Mr. Cratchit."

"Yes! Of course!" he sang.

Bob Cratchit lead Scrooge to his house. "Wait here," he said. Scrooge patiently waited while Bob Cratchit entered the house. There was yell from inside then silence. Bob Cratchit opened the door and invited Scrooge inside. "Ms. Cratchit," Scrooge said, bowing slightly. "I brought you a gift." He reached into his hair and pulled out the game turkey.

"Oh my Troll," Ms. Cratchit gasped, covering her mouth. "I'd like to make it up to you."

"It's wonderful!" Tiny Tim cheered.

"And, I'll pay for Tiny's medical bills," Scrooge added. Ms. Cratchit fainted, Maple and Fern catching her.

"Did you hear that, Daddy? Scrooge wants to help us!"

"Feel the magic in the air," Bob Cratchit sang, "Christmas is all around. Somethin' 'bout this special time of year. A blanket of snow falls down from the sky."

"Voices of angels open our hearts so we can open our arms," Tiny Tim added. Maple and Fern helped their mother recover. "And we'll all join hands to celebrate the goodness that shines inside of everyone. It must have been a part of some great design. Guess it's Christmas time," Scrooge sang, his colors a little less muted.

"Seein' the face of the little boys and girls singn' the First Noel, a sweet refrain heard all around the world," Ms. Cratchit sang.

"A song of forgiveness, comforting peace, a time to remember what life really means," Maple and Fern added with Ms. Cratchit. "The important things..."

"And we'll all join hands to celebrate the goodness that shines inside of everyone. It must have been a part of some great design. Guess it's Christmas time. Guess it's Christmas time," they all sang.

"Open our hearts, so we can open our arms," Scrooge sang, joining in with the others for the chorus again. "And we'll all join hands to celebrate the goodness that shines inside of everyone. It must have been a part of some great design. Guess it's Christmas time. It must have been a part of some great design. Guess it's Christmas time."

"Scrooge became like a second father to Tiny Tim," Poppy said, closing the book. "Scrooge celebrated every Christmas with the Cratchits."

"That's so sweet!" the Rock Troll kid said.

"Ooh man!" Tiny Diamond exclaimed. Poppy screamed. "That story was GOOD! I especially love the part with Tiny Tim!"

"How long have you been in here, Tiny?" Poppy asked.

"He's been here the whole time," Branch said. All the kids are hugging Branch, Tiny and Keith in his hair. "Aww!" Poppy cried. "The kids got scared so thy went to you!"

"Yeah, yeah, take a picture. It'll last longer," Branch replied.

"And there you have it! The Christmas Carol!" Poppy exclaimed, clapping her hands together after putting her scrapbook in her hair.

"It was so sweet!" the Classic Troll cheered.

"And sad," added a Pop Troll kid.

"But it's worth it!" Tiny Diamond exclaimed.

"Now go home to your parents!" Poppy said. "It's time for dinner!"

The kids cheered as they ran out of the pod. "You too, Keith," Poppy said, smiling.

"Okay..." Keith said, slugging his way out of Branch's hair and out the pod.

"Soooo, Branch," Poppy said, leaning closer to him. "What did you think?"

"It was okay," he said, shrugging.

"You sure?" She smiled. "'Cause you could have left at ANY point but you stayed the whole time." She put emphasis on 'stay.'

"Yeah, okay, fine. You caught me. I actually enjoyed it, Poppy. I've always enjoyed a classic." She smiled. "But why did you make me Scrooge?"

"I just figured, being the Village Grump for twenty years had a toll on your holiday spirit, Branch. You've participated in all of our holidays so far since you've became less of a recluse!"

"Yeah, and?"

"First, I appreciate that, actually. Good job! Second, Scrooge was a recluse who didn't want anything to do with anyone. Sound familiar?" Branch stared at her, raising an eyebrow. "So when he changed at the end and celebrated the holiday with everyone, it reminded me of you, Branch! Your change of heart!"

"Well, I uh..." Branch tried. "I-I...uhh..I don't-how do I...I don't know...well...thanks."

"Anytime!"

Author's Note

Thank you for reading! I've read A Christmas Carol recently so this has been on my mind since! One thing to note here is that the 'Stars' is their currency that I named. In Trolls Rescue Remix, you grab things that look like Star Bits and pay for new clothes with those so I assumed it was their form of currency. One other thing is that this last song is actually not from Muppets or Scrooge but instead from *NSYNC, It's Christmas Time.
Anyway, thank you for reading!
