Ben and Jose face each other in the wide throne room. Their immense magic power clashed and cracked the things around them. Jose's magic power is so sinister and has a dark color, while Ben's magic power is very bright like sunlight.
Their appearance also changed a little as they release their magic power. Jose has his eyes' white parts turn black, which makes him look scary. Ben has his eyes glow bright and his hair was raised like sharp spikes.
They push their magic power onto each other and make the clash bigger. Even though Ben's magic power is lower than Jose, it's not weak by any means. He is still a high level S-Class mage and he is a Slayer mage with 2 Slayer Magics.
He won't lose to Jose if it's a clash of magic power. As a Dragon and Devil Slayer, his magic power has a different quality from normal mages, so he can hold his own against Jose. He is a dragon, demon and human rolled into one.
Their clashing magic power can be seen from outside the building. The effect of the clash was so big it generated large waves in the river and the clouds turn black. Waves of energy also spread everywhere, scaring the mages on land.
"What's happening?" Wakaba asked as he attacked a Shade.
"A clash between strong magic power. It must be from Phantom's master. Is someone fighting him? Who?" Macao asked.
'There's only one individual on our side at the moment that can produce this much magic energy.' Ryu thought to himself. He was observing the battle from a nearby rooftop.
"Mira, is it him?" Erza asked her. Mira nodded.
"Most likely. I don't know anyone from our guild that has that much power besides Master and Gildarts. It's still weaker than both of them, but no one else has this much magic power, so it must be him."
"Well, he stopped the Jupiter Cannon by himself, so that much power isn't strange. But what should we do? We can't get closer with such a battle going on there." Erza said.
"I don't think we need to go there. Look, they are the ones who came to us." Mira said as she pointed in the direction of Phantom Lord's guild hall.
The members of the Element 4 ran out of the guild hall as Ben and Jose's clash scared them too. It would be dangerous for them to stay in their guild hall because it can be destroyed at any time. Natsu also left with Happy's help as his opponent was also leaving.
"Hmm? Where's their Dragon Slayer?" Elfman asked.
Mira's eyes suddenly widen and she transformed into her Satan Soul form. Then she quickly flew to the guild hall and left things here to Erza. She didn't understand why Mira suddenly left, but she agreed to it regardless.
After Mira left, Erza ordered everyone to focus on fighting the shades. Natsu is chasing one of the Element 4, Totomaru, a fire mage. So they need to take care of the other 3 and she plans to ask Gray and Elfman to help her do it.
But even before she said anything, Gray and Elfman have gone to do it. They don't want to lose to Natsu who has fought one of the Element 4. They're still very competitive, even during a war.
Erza sighed as she also left to fight the Element 4. This group is comprised of Phantom's strongest members, so they can't be ignored. Natsu, Elfman and Gray are the strongest members below S-Class, so Erza can leave the Element 4 to them.
Back with Ben and Jose they finally stopped their clash of magic power. They're done judging their opponent's power, so now they just need to fight for real. Their clash also caused Jose to realize something about Ben.
"So that's how it is. I never saw you myself so I didn't realize it before. But I won't get your magic power signature wrong because my guild has one too, a Dragon Slayer. That makes it easier to determine who you are. Ben Cooper, also known as Karna the Sun's Child, you must be him." Jose said.
Ben smirked after hearing that.
"Yeah, that's me. What are you going to do about it?" He said.
"It will be a bigger reason for me to kill you right here and right now. I can't stand a very small guild like yours having a strong mage like you." Jose angrily said.
"Heh, what a petty old man. You won't be able to live long and peacefully with that small heart of yours." Ben said while covering his hands and legs with solar energy that looks like a golden flame.
"You are the one who won't live long, brat." Jose said as he made dark balls on his fingertips.
Jose flicked his right index finger in Ben's direction and he can see a dark bullet fly at him at high speed. Ben tilted his head to the left to dodge the bullet that was aimed at his forehead.
"Too slow." Ben said with a smirk.
"Try this then." Jose said as he fired using all his fingertips.
Dark bullets are fired at Ben at a high rate of speed. Ben used his solar energy-covered hands to block every bullet that Jose fired. He can see every bullet and move very fast to match the bullets' speed.
Ben's blocking made the bullets go everywhere and hit the surroundings, destroying things. Jose then flashes around to shoot Ben from many different directions. But Ben was unfazed and still can block every bullet that Jose fired because he can sense every incoming bullet with his enhanced senses.
"Are you going to keep firing from afar like a coward, old man?" Ben asked as he suddenly disappeared from his spot and appeared in front of Jose.
Ben threw a punch at Jose and hit him. But Jose can use his hands to block Ben's punch in the nick of time. He isn't distracted like Makarov, so he can move to block Ben's attack even if he is surprised.
Jose was flung back and crashed into the wall, but he came out unscathed. He has protected his body with magic to reduce the damage from Ben's attack. Ben's punch was also not the best because he was rushing his attack.
"I expect nothing less from a Wizard Saint like you." Ben said, grinning.
"Damn, cheeky brat." Jose said as he covered his right hand with magic.
Jose swung his right hand at Ben in a horizontal arc. Ben was suddenly hit by something and it explodes right on his body. The explosion flung him back, making him the thick wall and breaking it.
"Damn, I didn't see it coming." Ben said as he got up and wiped the blood coming out of his mouth.
The attack injured Ben, but it wasn't serious. Ben always wore a protective shirt that he enchanted with defensive spells. All his clothes had been enchanted with the physical and magical defense after he returned from his year long journey.
"Enchanting my clothes was the right call. It doesn't make me 100% immune to attacks, but at least the damage is reduced. I really need to teach this to Wendy. But damn, his attack is really strong." Ben said as he looked at his tattered shirt.
Ben removed his tattered shirt and now only had pants on. He is half-naked and shows off his muscular body. Jose saw the black sun mark on the left side of his chest but didn't have any suspicions and just thought it was a normal tattoo.
"You're a tough brat." Jose said.
Ben grinned and made a small ball of solar energy on his right hand.
"I need to be tough or I wouldn't be able to protect anything." He said.
"Ha ha ha, so you are just like that fool Makarov. Protecting this and that. Then I'll destroy what you want to protect, just like him." Jose said wickedly.
Ben threw the solar ball at the roof and it produced a large explosion. The roof was destroyed and sunlight entered the room, shining down on both of them.
"Try it." Ben challenged with a smirk.
