Brooklyn had to put more strength into his right hand to break the one on his left. He winced as he got it off of himself. He scraped his wrist a bit, but it wasn't bleeding. Then he did the same with the other. He had now gotten his shackles off, now he just needed to break free from this cage.
Luckily for him, the cage wasn't electrified. If it had been, Brooklyn wouldn't have needed the shackles. He hoped Fang was not within hearing distance. He snuck up to the bars and began to pull the bars apart. He was using a lot of strength to do this. He could feel even putting his strength into his stomach muscles as well, hoping the twins were alright.
The bars creaked open as he finished prying them apart. Brooklyn panted but he had no time to lose. He carefully pulled his body through the bars being careful of his stomach. Then he looked for a way out. He saw where Fang had gone out but there was another door that he saw, and he went that way. He opened up the door and saw the lab.
Brooklyn didn't care. He went into the lab and saw another door. He broke through that way and kept on going. He was going to get out of here.
Fang came back when he heard the creaking from the bars. He saw they were broken, and the shackles were on the floor. "You're not getting away so easily, Brooklyn." Fang growled and went after his prey. He saw the open door. He immediately went after the red gargoyle. He needed electricity on those bars.
Brooklyn managed to make it to the staircase that led up to the world. He had to get free of this place. He would find his way home no matter what. It was getting closer to sunrise all the same. There was still some time left but he didn't know. He hurriedly climbed the stairs on all fours. He could feel the weight of the twins inside him.
He was panting hard by the time he reached the top of the staircase and held his stomach. "You two sure can take it out of me." Brooklyn panted. Then he felt a little pain in his stomach too. It made him whimper a little.
"Hey, Brooklyn, who're you talkin' to? You didn't think you'd get away from me, did ya?" Fang's voice was heard.
Brooklyn turned to look down the stairs. "Oh great." He muttered and knew he had to run some more. He wasn't going back to that cage! He got on all fours and ran. He was running up a tunnel and it was a long one. Fang was hot on his tail too.
Soon, Brooklyn had to pull up to catch his breath. His stomach was really beginning to hurt. He supported his stomach with one of his hands. Fang also pulled up.
"See, you're fat and out of shape." Fang mocked him. But then, he was panting too a little.
"I'm not out of... shape." Brook panted. He might have been a little bit.
"Now what should I do to you?" Fang mock asked him. "Since you ruined my cage and my plans."
"Fang, please don't... do this..." Brooklyn pleaded.
"And why not? You helped ruin my life by helping Talon take me down." Fang growled at him.
"Fang, please. How about I just let you go find your own happiness somewhere else? You don't have to hurt me." Brooklyn pleaded. He was tired and exhausted due to his running and condition. His stomach was also hurting from the strain of running. He wouldn't normally let a bad guy get away, but he couldn't risk his pregnancy.
"You would actually do that? Let a bad guy go?" Fang asked in a mocking tone.
"In my case, oh, yes." Brooklyn moaned. His eyes were wide in fear of being shot at again. He was trying not to show his pain.
Fang mockingly put a hand to his chin, actually thinking. "Ummm, no. You're going to pay for what you did to me!" He shouted at him, and he began firing electricity at Brooklyn once again.
Brooklyn had to quickly react despite his pain. He ran again further down the tunnel on all fours and Fang took off after him. It soon led to an area of an open space and there was a door in the room that looked like it had a sign on it once before but was now gone. Brooklyn figured it was the way out. It turned out to be a bathroom. Dead end. Brooklyn turned around to face his opponent.
Fang then came into the bathroom. "Whoops! Dead end."
"Fang, please don't do this." Brooklyn panted hard, feeling the pain in his belly again.
"You're not getting away from me this time, you freak!" Fang growled at him. He fired up his fists with the electricity again and he began shooting at the red gargoyle, who jumped out of the way as fast as he could. He also leaped onto a toilet in the bathroom, and it broke from the wall, sending water onto the floor.
Brooklyn then saw some potential here. He leaped on top of another toilet. "Fang, just let me go. You won't get away with this. Ugh!" He winced at the pain.
"Not until you get what's comin' to ya!" Fang retorted, this time really lighting himself up in anger to try to fire at Brooklyn.
This time though, Brooklyn leapt through the air and broke into a sink, and it sent water everywhere. Then it splashed into Fang and then the electricity he had flaring had him gasp as his own electricity was now used against him in getting burned all over his body. Brooklyn had gotten onto another toilet in there, staying out of the water.
Fang was now a barbecued cat. He fell over.
"I warned you." Brooklyn said. He then got off that toilet and went over to see if Fang was still alive or not. As he was standing near him, he saw that Fang's chest was no longer moving.
Then he knew what he had to do. He then punched his way through the ceiling and made a hole that he could escape through to get away. He fast jumped through the hole and was on his way out. This was one time he wasn't wasting on getting away from his enemy. Brooklyn would take it over being held prisoner again.
He quickly caught his breath and continued on his way out. He kept following the tunnel till he got to another staircase and climbed it and it led to the way out. He was now topside, and he walked along an empty railway station for a while, and he got to a rooftop where he took to the air. He didn't recognize where he was right off the bat, but he would find his way home. He saw he was still in the big city though. Just where was he?
Brooklyn soon had to stop gliding for the night to catch his breath. He would let Fang go only on the thought that he was protecting himself and his unborn kids. He wasn't in a condition to fight. What he felt inside his belly easily told him that.
Well, with Fang gone, it would be less of a burden on the Labyrinth too. He might have gotten lucky this night.
He stopped and waited for the sun to rise before he would continue his flight home. He made sure to conceal himself so no humans saw him.
...
At the castle, the clan came home from their patrols and looked for Brooklyn and found he was gone.
"Where could Brooklyn have gone off to?" Broadway asked.
"He knows he's supposed to stay here." Angela stated.
"I'm going to have a talk with him when he gets back." Goliath growled. He knew his Second was rebellious sometimes. But now was not a good time to be doing this sort of thing while he was pregnant.
Owen then came out onto the battlements. "Come with me. There's something you need to see before sunrise." He said.
The clan knew there was something going on. Owen led them to the David's office, and he showed them a camera that had been positioned on what happened earlier.
It showed a brown mutate chasing Brooklyn away from the castle, heading toward Midtown. It was Fang!
"Fang chased Brooklyn off." Lex realized.
"But why?" Angela asked.
"We don't know, Angela but we find them." Goliath declared. "After sunset tomorrow."
They turned to stone shortly after they returned to the battlements.
...
Down in the substation, Fang lay dead from his frying himself with the electricity and water.
Hope this wasn't too confusing. A special friend gave the idea.
