Chapter 35 Holiday is over, Buckbeak's fate, last Quidditch match and party, the plan and Daphne wants to repay the favour

10th April 1994, Gryffindor Common Room, Gryffindor Tower, Hogwarts

It was early and Harry was the only one up. He found it a wonder he could even get to sleep when you got Ron sleeping in the same room, but he guessed with his time by the Dursleys and already sleeping in the same room for many months you get used to it. He was happy that Hermione would come back as would Ginny. Mr. Weasley and Mrs. Weasley wouldn't let Ginny in Hogwarts during holidays like last year just to make sure she was okay but Harry honestly thought Ginny was different than last year but good different like she becoming herself at least Ron, Fred and George said so.

Harry threw on some clothes and went outside to the Quidditch pitch to run a few lapses before going back inside and taking a shower. When he returned like normal Neville was already awake while Ron was still asleep.

13th April 1993, First period (Ancient Runes), Hogwarts

Harry, Hermione, Fay and Neville walked into the classroom. They were one of the first. Almost 5 minutes later the class is almost full. At last Professor Babbling walks in. Everyone sat in their group as Professor Babbling said she wanted to sit like that the first lesson after Easter (now).

She said "I want to let know that all the groups have succeeded in modifying the objects. All groups get an EE beside two. The first group is the group from Harry Potter, Neville Longbottom and Fay Dunbar. Even though the runes weren't drawn perfectly it was very close nonetheless, the runes were very powerful and were very hard for me to remove."

"The second group is the group of Susan Bones, Daphne Greengrass and Hermione Granger. The runes were perfectly inscribed even though it wasn't as powerful as the ones from Harry Potter, Neville Longbottom and Fay Dunbar's group it was also very hard to remove them. Both groups get an O as it was difficult for me to remove and both were above average. I do want to ask the group of Harry Potter, Neville Longbottom and Fay's Dunbar to watch out with the power next time."

Professor Babbling looked and they just smiled happily with the grade. Professor Babbling said "for the next assignment it would be 50% of your grade. It is the practical part of this year. The other 50% will be an exam about the theory of the subject with a couple of runes you need to know what it means and what would happen on different objects. Also, there will be Runes that miss something and you need to complete the Runes. There is something for extra points but I will keep that a secret."

Professor Babbling waited to wait until she had the attention again "now make groups of two."

Hermione looked at Harry and he just nodded. Hermione smiled greatly and immediately went to Harry. She took a seat next to him as Neville works with Fay and Susan and Daphne did.

Professor Babbling waits a few minutes until all the groups were made. When the groups were made and said "great. Each group would get a different assignment. All the assignments are to make an object of your choosing make to do (a) certain thing(s) with the use of the runes you have learned this year and not one rune per object like the last assignment."

21st April 1994, the Black Lake after classes, Hogwarts ground

Hagrid, wearing a gigantic, hairy brown suit and perhaps the world's ugliest yellow and orange tie, stands knee-deep in the shallows of the black lake, skimming rocks as big as flagstones across the water's shiny gloss. As he turns, the trio catches a brief sight of his eyes, red with tears, and then he looks away.

Hermione saw the tears but still asked: "how'd it go, Hagrid?"

Hagrid said "Buckbeak liked London" clearly avoiding answering the real question.

Hermione feared as Hagrid dodged the real question. Hermione asked, "I meant the hearing?"

Hagrid gave a watery smile before saying "oh. That. Well, I got up an' said my bit - You know, how Buckbeak was a good Hippogriff an' as long as yeh treated 'im with respect, he'd treat you the same. Then Lucius Malfoy got up an' said his bit - you know, how Buckbeak was a deadly dangerous beast that no teacher in their righ' mind would expose their students to..."

Hermione was dreading the answer but did ask "and...?

Hagrid slings another rock into the water. Ron was bored and said "yes" to speed it up.

Hermione narrowed her eyes with anger towards Ron before her eyes soften and said: "you mustn't blame yourself, Hagrid."

Ron decided to really say something to get Hermione's anger out of him. He said " Draco. It's him the Committee should punish. It's him they should send off to the forest, not Buckbeak."

Hagrid sobs saying " Buckbeak's not going back to the forest..."

Hermione was again dreading the answer but as Hagrid was telling them she decided to ask him "where's he going, Hagrid?

Hagrid sobbed again before saying "e asked fer the worse, yeh see, Lucius Malfoy did. An' the Committee granted it. Buckbeak's bin sentenced ter death."

Hermione gasped with her hand over her mouth. With her other hand, she seeks Harry's hand that she finds. Neville has walked to Hagrid and put a hand on his back. Ron knew what he wanted to know and was waiting for the other to leave so he could challenge Harry or Neville for chess or maybe an upper-year who were mostly a tougher challenge.

When they walked away Hermione reluctantly let go of Harry's hand.

1st May 1994, Astronomy room, Astronomy Tower (5th floor), Hogwarts

Harry had another training session with Professor Lupin but Professor Lupin was focussing mostly on the Patronus charm as he said this was the last training session while the other spells he can practice on his own as long as he was careful, but as Lupin still wanted to see the progress from the other spells he spend a little time on the spells.

Harry's shield was stronger but still could only hold a few spells before it broke. The stunning spell was much stronger and this time when he hit the conjured birds almost all were gone when they were hit. Two watermelons were completely cut and the third one was almost severed for 75%. Professor Lupin conjures six statues and Harry could bind the first two tight and the third and four were a little bit slack. The fifth one was very loose and only one very small rope barely enough to encircle Harry's hand once was sent at the six statues. He improved all those spells and Remus told about a few curses and the counter-curse but didn't practice then.

In the end, Harry was exhausted but he didn't get better at the Patronus charm and even Professor Lupin was a bit disappointing on the other hand still proud as he managed to cast a non-corporeal Patronus shield for a third-year student. Harry maybe didn't improve much but he did something incredible that no one would believe unless you saw it (or trusted Harry and/ or Professor Lupin).

3rd May 1994, Care of Magical Creatures class, Forbidden Forest

Hagrid finally got some more active creatures after the boring classes. They had a class on the clearing the normal care of magical creatures class was (it was the same place where they met Buckbeak). Hagrid had obtained a firecrab with some very pretty and unique crystals on his back and not the normal colour. The class was very informative. He told a lot about the crabs but you could see he was unhappy. Right before class would end he said that during the next class they would take care of a couple of fire crabs as it will be a double class on Friday.

When it was over most of the students leave except Harry, Hermione and Neville as it was lunch so Ron was the first to go back to not miss lunch including his second and third plate of food.

Harry says "Hagrid do you know when Buckbeak is … well, you know."

Hagrid nodded and said "yes. I hoped they would wait until the summer at least but Malfoy probably didn't let them. He is sentenced to death on the 6th of June."

Hermione said, "oh Hagrid I find this so sad for you but of course even worse for Buckbeak."

Harry asked, "can't we do anything?"

Hagrid shook his head but Hermione said: "can't Professor Dumbledore review the case as he is Chief Warlock?"

Hagrid said "maybe he can but I won't ask that from him. He already did much for me. Great man, Dumbledore."

Neville said "he can't Hermione only cases in front of the wizengamot can be reviewed by Chief Warlock but in the last years there has been hardly any case in front of the wizengamot, not even criminal cases. The wizengamot mostly propose legalization and plans for the ministry but that is it … oh and discuss that. The last one was Hagrid's case for his wand back. Most criminal cases are done in smaller courts without the Minister present or a 'full' wizengamot body. That Hagrid had it was unheard of although it was an important case."

Hermione took everything in and nodded. She understands the job and rights of Chief Warlock or Chief Witch better now thanks to Neville's (basic) knowledge.

Harry said, "I am sorry Hagrid."

Hagrid said "it is not your fault Harry. I think you even saved my job by protecting Miss Bones and Miss Greengrass."

Harry said, "no Hagrid I should have known Malfoy would try something and should have paid more attention to him."

Hagrid gave a watery smile and said "it is okay Harry. I don't blame you and if Buckbeak could talk he also doesn't. I don't say I can talk to him or understand but could you at least visit him a couple of times before the 6th of June during the day I mean. He will be like now in front of my cabin."

Harry nodded. Hagrid said, "well you better go if you want to have lunch before your next class."

Harry pets Buckbeak a couple of times on his beak and the feathers around his neck get a grateful and happy shriek before Harry left with Hermione and Neville to get some lunch before their fifth-period Charms.

7th May 1994, Hogwarts, Scotland

It was the last and final Hogsmeade weekend. Hermione decided to not go as she didn't want to use more of Harry's money even though he didn't mind, but also to already start to learn for the end of the year exams. Hermione also was seriously considering dropping Muggle Studies because it was heavily outdated and no offence but it was thought by a pureblood. Hermione wonders if she ever saw a muggle house let stand in one. Also, Hermione wonders if she ever talked to a muggle or even follows what happens in the muggle world.

According to the Professor, the telephone was just recently discovered as were computers but she didn't even know what a computer did. She said there were prototypes of portable phones but that it would never work as the wizards couldn't carry a portable floo so a muggle could never carry a portable phone. In other words, mobile phones did not exist for the public what they were although they are very expensive and not many people buy them and use them. They did exist and worked as her parents did have one. As they own a dentist's office and mostly travel together they only needed one.

Hermione stayed with Harry, Neville and Ginny in the library. Ginny was mostly in the evening with Hermione and Harry (and everyone else who was with them) but she is mostly around when Ron wasn't or was occupied. She like others mostly from Gryffindor felt sorry for Hagrid and was sad about Buckbeak.

In Hogsmeade Sirius in his Animagus form was walking around but couldn't find Harry's scent and was drawn to the pink-haired Auror again. He couldn't remember where but he started to notice her scent was similar to one of his cousins not the same but was close. He tries to remember the name of the girl his second-oldest cousin Andromeda had, but he couldn't remember her name. He did, however, remember that the daughter liked to play with Harry. He tried hard but because of Azkaban he still couldn't recall everything and for some things, he needed to think really hard. Her daughter, however, had black hair …. most of the time though.

She really spoiled Harry almost as much as Lily and her mother Andi did. Every time Harry saw her he smiled, but he hasn't seen Harry smile this year and that worried him. Even during Quidditch what James really liked who was also a seeker Harry didn't smile but maybe was that because of the Dementors that were at the border.

Harry had been running every day. He had lost a little bit of his endurance during the winter when he couldn't run outside, but he was improving, was fast approaching where he was before winter and also his physical endurance was improving like his magical endurance was slowly improving by Professor Lupin's (Patronus) training.

Luna has joined Hermione and Ginny when Harry and Neville left to go to their dorm to put their books away and enjoy the weather outside not really talking much.

14th May 1994, Quidditch Stadium, Hogwarts grounds

It was time for the last Quidditch match against Slytherin. Dumbledore managed to 'convince' Professor McGonagall to not have extra Aurors again as Harry was able to protect himself long enough while the other professors could protect the others. Harry will hold out until we help him Dumbledore said to Professor McGonagall. Dumbledore didn't want Aurors on his land as he saw the castle as his land, his kingdom. He hoped to use the guard Trolls to get rid of a problem. If it wouldn't work for this year then he would get someone else to help him that is easily controlled.

Professor McGonagall and Professor Lupin both hand their wands out while Professor Flitwick and Professor Sprout hand their hands on their wand ready to cast the Patronus if Dementors would appear.

It was good weather and first, the Gryffindor Quidditch team came out supported by three of the four houses and then the Slytherin Quidditch team came out. When the Slytherin Quidditch team came out you could barely hear the cheering from their own house above the boo shouting from the other houses, especially Gryffindor.

Slytherin was leading the Championship with a lead of 200 points over Gryffindor who was third at the moment. The second was Ravenclaw and the last was Hufflepuff. Oliver said to Harry before the game "wait with catching the snitch until we are 60 points ahead. We need to win with at least 210 points to win the Cup. I am counting on you, Harry. This is my last chance."

Harry said "I will do my best or die trying Oliver. Malfoy count on me finding the snitch so I will try to use that, but Alicia, Angelina and Katie need to watch out as they need to provide the lead but expect the Slytherins to be playing dirty."

The whole team agreed with Harry and knew what needed to be done. The black dog was again in the stands on the Gryffindor side flanked by Hermione and Ginny on one side and Neville and Ron on the other.

The match started and Gryffindor was the first one to grab the Quaffle. Katie managed to grab it first before throwing it to Alicia who passed it to Angelina who scored. When she scored Flint (captain and chaser) from Slytherin crashed into her on purpose which makes George throw his beater bat to the back of Flint. He hit Flint which make his face smash into his own broom handle giving him a broken nose heavily bleeding. Both sides got a penalty. Alicia took the penalty instead of Angelina which is allowed and scored. Flint decided to take the penalty on his own but Oliver managed to save it.

It was 20-0 for Gryffindor when Katie wanted to score but was grabbed by her hair before she was grabbed by her head by Montague (chaser) which gave Gryffindor another penalty that Katie took and scored. Flint managed to score back.

Alicia grabbed the Quaffle but before she could pass she was hit in the back of her head by Bole (beater) with his beater bat and not a Bludger which makes Fred elbow him in his face breaking his nose making it bleed. It gave one penalty to both teams. This time Angelina took the penalty and scored while Flint again took the penalty which was again saved by Oliver.

Katie scored again which make 50-10 for Gryffindor. Harry was watching around searching for the snitch but also cheering when Gryffindor scored. Oliver had told Harry about the so-called Wronski Feint but Harry didn't understand it although Oliver couldn't really tell what needed to be done to perform that. As expected Malfoy followed him around using him to find the snitch. Harry started to fly a bit faster and noticed that Malfoy kept following. He knew something like that was needed for the Wronski Feint but didn't know what to do more.

Bole and Derrick hit Wood in his stomach with two Bludgers and that is against the rules giving Gryffindor another penalty. Angelina took the penalty and scored. When Alicia scored by a good play from the chaser it was 70-10 for Gryffindor. When Alicia scored Harry started to look around more and quickly saw the snitch. Malfoy followed but Harry was faster.

The snitch suddenly turned around and Harry followed. Malfoy grabbed his Firebolt which gave Gryffindor a penalty. Alicia took the penalty but missed as the keeper Bletchley managed to stop the penalty but it was barely with only his fingertips making it go to the ring of the hoops but not through. Montague scored for Slytherin.

Harry saw the snitch but waited as it was 70-20 and that was not enough to cleanly win the cup. Harry tried to follow the snitch without moving his head as Malfoy would notice. When Angelina scored making it 80-20 Harry took off again keeping his eyes on the snitch. The snitch makes extraordinary movements that Harry has trouble following two Bludgers shot at him he managed to avoid easily but it made it harder to follow the snitch. As Malfoy was further behind he didn't need to follow all the movements.

Finally, the snitch takes a sharp turn towards Malfoy before diving down. Malfoy was closer when the snitch dived and followed. Harry immediately followed them down. Malfoy was managed to evade a Bludger shot by George but he just barely evade the hit the Bludger hit the back of his broom which make Malfoy plummet towards the snitch and the ground. As they were closing in on the ground Malfoy hit the ground hard but wasn't hurt much. Malfoy couldn't grab the snitch as he was clutching his broom as tried to not fall what he managed but still landed hard.

Harry continued following the snitch. When he was closing in he tried to grab hit. He felt a Bludger hitting his back but he managed to close in on the snitch. He thought when he was hit 'that is going to hurt tomorrow'.

He was only inches away when he let go of the broom and try to catch the snitch with his hands. He missed the snitch two times first with his right then and his left but on the third try, he catches the snitch with his right hand. Madam Hooch sees it and used her whistle to end the game seconds before Katie wanted to throw the Quaffle to try to score.

Gryffindor had won the match from Slytherin by 230-20. Harry showed it and get hugged by the chasers and a kiss on his cheek from all three which made him blush. Harry gets a brotherly hug and claps on his back but the twins while they laughed at Harry's embarrassed face. He got almost crushed by Oliver who hugged him with tears of happiness in his eyes.

The team flew towards the box of the staff and Dumbledore was already standing with the Quidditch Cup right in front of him. Professor McGonagall has a large smile on her face because she won her house and won the cup but also that there had been no attack from the Dementors or Sirius Black.

Dumbledore handed Oliver the Quidditch team and Gryffindor cheered so much it completely drowned out the booing from the Slytherin's stands (safe a very few who looked not interested in Quidditch so nobody cared they weren't booing). Ravenclaw clapped and like Hufflepuff but they also cheered a bit as they found that Gryffindor earned it and after their embarrassing defeat against Slytherin, but also as Slytherin had used it to bully and embarrass Hufflepuff for weeks after it.

Lee Jordan called their names and there was a picture taken to put in the Daily Prophet as it was every year put in except last year, but Dumbledore provided the picture from the year before but had altered the broom to look like nimbus 2001 Slytherin had. This year Daily Prophet send a photographer to take the photo like normal.

Professor McGonagall smiled as not only did she win but she won the friendly bet from Professor Flitwick, Professor Sprout and Professor Vector. She would get a goblin whiskey from Professor Flitwick, a difficult to make Southern England ale from Professor Sprout and 50 Galleons from Professor Vector, but Professor McGonagall promised to pay the lunch next time they were in the Three Broomsticks.

The first one to grab the cup after Oliver was Harry before the chasers and at last both Fred and George hold the cup before giving it back to Oliver.

14th May 1994, Gryffindor Common Room, Hogwarts

It was after dinner and Fred and George had just left the Common Room. It was time for a party, almost everybody was waiting for the party to start or in other words waiting for Fred and George to come back with butterbeer, a few firewhiskeys and some food. The only one who wasn't waiting for it was Hermione. She knew that the party could easily go on until the early hours of the morning so she was trying to get as much homework done as she could as she couldn't use the time turner today as most will be awake and if there are suddenly two Hermione's or she disappears suddenly out of her dorm or Common Room and somehow beside Ginny would see well that could be a problem.

Harry was sitting next to Hermione and she knew he would not let her alone not that she really minded. She liked when Harry was with her it made her feel happy and safe. It seems Ginny felt the same as she was sitting on the other side of Harry with Neville immediately across from Harry talking with Ron and Dean while Seamus was trying to flirt with the girls from their year well except Hermione of course. Everyone knew that Hermione only had eyes for Harry even if she denied it. The only one who flirted back was Lavender.

It took almost 30 minutes before the twins came back with three full crates of butterbeer, two six-packs of firewhiskey and food that could cover at least half their house table in the Great Hall. It seems the elves in the kitchen were quite excited to help.

Butterbeer wasn't given to below the third-year students and they had also brought four pitchers of pumpkin juice. Fred gave Oliver a Firewhiskey and whispered something in Vanessa's ear when she looked mad but her face softened after he was done. The chasers got a butterbeer, Harry got a butterbeer and they took a butterbeer when Angelina and Alicia gave them a glare when it looked like they wanted to grab a Firewhiskey.

Lee Jordan got a butterbeer next. It took almost five minutes before everyone that wanted a drink had a drink. Suddenly the house started to chant speech, speech, speech.

Oliver was pushed forward by Fred and George. Oliver was standing in the middle of the house with Vanessa on his arm. He started to tell that the cup has been theirs for the last three years but every year something happened even this year fortunately, it was the first time Harry played the last two games. He thanked all his teammates and lastly thanked Merlin for however send Harry the broom as Harry was the best he had ever seen including some national teams seekers.

"This was the after 8 years of not winning the Cup that Gryffindor took the cup. With this, we showed them that we would have won them all and that this is the best team. Charlie Weasley is a good seeker but I played with him and with Harry. It almost shames me to say, especially with all the Weasley's here but Harry Potter is the best seeker Gryffindor has in the last century at least."

"Very few could ever best our trouble double beaters the twins Fred and George Weasley. The vixens are being an unstoppable force if they play together. Our vixens are Angelia Johnston, Alicia Spinnet and Katie Bell. All thanks to them I, Oliver Wood the keeper of the hoops and Captain of the Quidditch team can proudly say we won the Cup and can look back good on my last year of Hogwarts and I expect to see it next year in the Daily Prophet that Gryffindor won the Quidditch Cup again I expect nothing less" Oliver ended.

The whole house cheered so hard that they might have woken up the entire Ravenclaw house in Ravenclaw Tower if they were asleep.

15th May 1994, Gryffindor Common Room, Hogwarts

Several hours later it was nearing 2 AM when again but this time a faked angry Professor McGonagall walked in and needed to shout to get over the sound coming from the Common Room. She was happy that it was only upper years, the fifth year and up except for Harry and Katie as they were part of the Quidditch team and were having a good time even though their year mates were already in the dorm. She was especially pleased not seeing Hermione study but nobody could study over this sound not even Hermione Granger. But if the sound wasn't here she wouldn't be here.

She shouted over the music "It is 2 AM. I don't care it is Sunday tomorrow. I am very pleased we won but this party stops now."

Everybody save two heard her. Harry and Katie were afraid they got a lecture about being up this late. Professor McGonagall shot them a quick smile mostly aimed at Harry which the upper years didn't notice although the other chasers thought they saw it. However, as they only saw it for a second they thought they imagined it.

Professor McGonagall said "Mr. Potter and Miss Bell please go to bed. Mr. Wood and Miss Sallow stop that immediately. It is highly inappropriate."

Oliver and Vanessa were snogging on the couch near the fire and didn't hear Professor McGonagall. Fred and George smiled and that didn't bode something well … for Oliver and Vanessa. Professor McGonagall wanted to say if something could stop them but before she could say something the twins' prank had already happened.

Oliver had on Vanessa's clothes and Vanessa had on Oliver's clothes, but besides that Oliver had long hair like Vanessa but in his own colour but her style and Vanessa had Oliver short hair in her colour in his style. It was funny as all the others smiled especially as Oliver and Vanessa apparently didn't notice until Professor McGonagall forced them apart ( A/N what Umbridge did in the movie OOTP).

When they noticed what has happened they look at the twins and almost see them rolling on the floor laughing. Professor McGonagall was impressed but after she managed to contain her laughter she changed Oliver and Vanessa back including putting the clothes back on the right person.

Professor still with a smile and said "now that everything is back in order you get 15 minutes to clean as much as possible. We don't want the house-elves to clean up your mess. If I hear you didn't clean up much you will all get a lesson to clean that you won't like with me, Mr. Filch or maybe the elves could use help in the kitchen without using magic."

Everybody nodded and said, "yes Professor McGonagall."

Everybody immediately started to get most of the mess that contained cups, and empty butterbeer bottles and put them back in the crates. The 'empty' firewhiskey back in the sixpack and all the plates with food that were empty in four stacks and half a stack with food that wasn't eaten or just barely. All four pitchers were empty and were put next to the other mess.

10 minutes later Professor McGonagall came back and was pleased with it and said: "this would be okay now all of you go to bed before I need to give detention and dock points."

Everybody nodded and when up to their dorm, but she saw some kisses she didn't see before she needed to push Oliver and Vanessa apart again as they started snogging as they were the last that left the Common Room. They were snogging at the start of the stairs.

When Professor McGonagall pushed them apart she said "Mr, Wood and Miss Sallow go to bed now before I do give you detention till the end of this year. I don't think both of you want that, especially you Mr. Wood."

Oliver rubbed the back of his back and said "sorry Professor McGonagall you are right. Good night Nessa and good night Professor McGonagall."

Vanessa was heavily blushing and said, "good night Oliver and good night Professor McGonagall."

Professor McGonagall nod and left when she heard the doors close up the stairs.

17th May 1994, Library, Hogwarts

Harry, Hermione, Ginny and Neville were in the library doing homework where they needed to research some facts or theories. Ron also needed it but he didn't want to be in the library and postponed his homework until the last minute like always.

Harry was the first one done as Hermione was behind on homework and was barely able to complete everything in time. Harry decided to look for Medusa to find the last clue to finish the problem with her teeth/ fangs.

20th May 1994, Third-year boys dorm, Hogwarts

It was late at night and Harry had woken up from a nightmare as he had before as he failed Hermione and Ginny. He knew he couldn't get to sleep for the next couple of hours. He decided to examine the books from Medusa. He didn't have time to read them completely and have only tried to read the basilisk book as the other books didn't have any useful information about the fangs although the grimoire could be very useful to know the real Salazar Slytherin to find out what he really thought and he already noticed a big difference between the so-called grimoire in the Hogwarts library and the real one like that he had a wife before he had a relationship with Helga Hufflepuff. The library grimoire also said he betrayed Helga Hufflepuff with a pureblood as Helga wasn't good enough to breed his pureblood heirs.

Harry starts to think about the book until he realized that he hasn't tried Parseltongue before. He said §reveal§

It worked slowly words start to appear. It was a treasure of information. He also saw some hieroglyphs he could read as it was parseltongue, but there were just small sections and nothing too important. Near the end of the book, he found the biggest clues of them all. Near the end, he found how Salazar Slytherin took care of Medusa's mother without a basilisk following him. He found a way to transform Medusa's Mother into a snake he could carry around that looked like a normal snake but still had all the magical weapons. The eyes, venom but also magical resistant skin. The snake he carried did only have two fangs though like normal venomous snakes and would be the best to regain things the basilisk couldn't otherwise like the teeth. The basilisk turn snake could transform back into a basilisk if needed on her own without the wizard or witch needing to be there or use (much) power from the wizard or witch.

'It is a bit like Dobby needs my power to live or at least live longer and have more power' Harry thought

Harry was almost one to scream out yes when he noticed something even more important. The basilisk needs the power to transform from a (familiar) bond with a wizard or witch and described here was the best way to make the potion which was the best and works for all possible familiar if the bond was already started at least and want to bond. According to Dobby Hedwig did already start and according to the snake the bond also already started with Medusa. At least Hedwig wanted to he thought and with everything Medusa does she want to.

He needed the potion to completely the bond but for the first few days/ weeks it would be fragile and easy to break which would be difficult to start again, but this was a personal potion from Salazar Slytherin as improved to the potion in the other book. This potion was more difficult to make but the bond will strengthen without needing to be close and also less dangerous and a bigger chance to complete the bond but also faster. There was also a protection part in the potion to protect the human and familiar while the bond formed.

Harry hears everybody asleep and immediately grabs a parchment and writes down all the needed ingredients with some he never heard of before like in the other book and the potion to make. It said it will take at least two weeks to make. And if possible three weeks to make sure it works 'better.'

27th May 1994, Library, Hogwarts

Harry was in the library again. He may be doing better in his classes but he thought he was too much in the library but he would endure as today he wasn't for any homework he was here to find a book with an idea to gather the ingredients he needed. He had written the ingredients on another bit of parchment to make sure if he lost one of them he didn't need to reveal the words again. He hasn't read it completely but there must be a reason why Salazar Slytherin protected the book that could only be revealed when a parseltongue spoke what he wrote.

He was looking through multiple books when he found some potion ingredients he knew where to get or where just easily possible to get in an apothecary some harder ones he could probably steal from Snape and ask Neville for some things from a greenhouse but there were still a couple he couldn't get and hasn't seen in Snape's personal storage.

He was talking to himself about how to get them but he didn't know that Astoria was just around the corner and could hear everything Harry said. She hoped he maybe knew who the Black heir was as he was seen as a pureblood by law. She knew that if someone was the Black heir he would tell Harry as it would shut Malfoy up. Harry and Malfoy were enemies if you want any chance to win from Malfoy Harry was your best shot. She learned something else. She learned he needed potion supplies that you couldn't get at the apothecary if you ask for supplies for Hogwarts potions class.

She wrote up everything Harry said and left immediately before she knew Harry knew she was there and heard everything.

27th May 1994, Slytherin Common Room, Hogwarts

Astoria came into the common room and immediately saw Daphne being badgered by Malfoy. Astoria knew why and managed to suppress a smile as Malfoy didn't know she was betrothed to his enemy.

When she came closer she heard him say "come on Daphne be my Lady Malfoy and then your sister can become my Lady Greengrass and I would be grateful enough to help her and be Lord Greengrass. I am the best shot you got nobody else would want a girl and family like you. I am grateful enough to give you that."

Daphne wants to reply back when she sees Astoria and she could see Astoria had something important. She said "I say it again Malfoy. NO, and that would be the end of this. I will never become Lady Malfoy. Come, Tracey."

Daphne walks away but when she reached Astoria she dragged her to the third-year girl's dorm

27th May 1994, Slytherin third-year girls dorm, Hogwarts

When they were inside Tracey made sure nobody was inside and when she didn't she said: "We are okay Daphne."

Daphne nodded and said "what is going Astoria? You came to see me and it could be you got something important. Do you know who the real heir Black is?"

Astoria said "unfortunately not. I hoped the person would come to Harry as he is your best shot if you are afraid of Malfoy what you probably are or someone would have been boasting about it…"

Tracey interrupted Astoria "unless you don't want it, don't know it, dislike Harry, he dislikes you or Harry is it himself."

Astoria smiled thinking how it would be if Harry was Heir Black when she asked: "Daphne if Harry is it would you mind?"

Daphne thought about it before saying "it would be weird at first but I think I wouldn't be too bad as Harry is the best husband you could get as Lord Black otherwise it would be Malfoy which is absolutely the worst. I would probably find it weird but think I can come to terms with it. Harry would be very lucky to have the Greengrass sisters."

Daphne and Astoria knew they were beautiful but didn't flaunt it but in moments like this, it was fun to acknowledge it and how lucky the boy (mostly Harry like in this case) would be. Tracey wondered if she could be one of Harry's extra wives but that was for later even though she likes Harry too Astoria had something important.

Astoria said "yes he would be but I wonder how Malfoy will look when you said you are betrothed and especially when he finds out it is Harry. Hahaha."

Daphne giggle as did Tracey. Daphne said "yes that would be wonderful but I want to wait to tell him that I am already betrothed until there is no other choice but to shut Malfoy up. We are digressing what do you have Astoria?"

Astoria's smile widened and said, "you remember our house and your own favour to Harry although our house had already kind of repaid it."

Daphne nodded. Astoria continued "I have something that would make sure our house repaid him and the favour you could do."

Daphne was wondering what Astoria knew. Astoria knew what some guys would ask from her sister as she already had the sex talk when her mother learned her (and Daphne) about witches and wizards, especially special laws and heirs.

Astoria continued when Daphne didn't say anything "I heard Harry talking to himself and he was talking about needing potions for a special potion. He also thought who he could ask as his friend Hermione Granger if I remember correctly would ask too many questions and that would be bad at least for now he said. Some potions ingredients are illegal or very expensive but I thought if our father can get them and you make the potion it would be killing two owls with one spell."

Daphne said, "that is an idea but do you know which ingredients he needs?"

Astoria nodded and said, "yes I wrote it down, but I don't know what kind of potion it is. I don't know a potion that needs those ingredients so you need to ask him yourself."

Daphne said, "okay let me look at the list."

Daphne knew most of what her father imported or exported and most were on the list as were a few they had at home as they have a small greenhouse home. Daphne said "I think it could work. Let's go to the Owlery immediate so when can send it to father. Let's grab some ink and parchment to write to him why we need it."

28th May 1994, Greengrass Manor, Wales

It was morning and Jacob and Isabel were eating a nice breakfast. They were almost done when an owl came in. They knew the owl was the owl from Daphne. He landed on the table but when Isabel wanted to grab the letter the owl moved away from Jacob.

Jacob grabbed it and the owl flew to the Owlery that was attached to the house that most manors from magical families have.

Jacob read:

Dear father,

I want to know when I can say to Malfoy I am betrothed to stop his attempts and threatening to marry him or else and I will say that besides I am betrothed, I am betrothed to Harry Potter. I will only say that when he crosses the line with threats or attempts, but this is not the whole reason I wrote.

Astoria managed to find a way for me to repay the favour to Harry but our house didn't really repay the favours except by voting Hagrid free. I think we can fully repay the favour but for my part, I need your help which in turn makes sure our house repay him in full. Enclosed is a parchment with potions ingredients I know there are quite a lot we can provide and some are illegal but maybe you have some contacts that can provide it. It is for a potion I don't know what kind of potion or in the worst-case scenario a poison but I intend to find out soon. If he would tell me at least or promise me it is not harmful. If he gives me the potion recipe to make it and I think I can make it I will try and that would be the end of the favours that we both would like very much even though we trust House Potter."

I hope you can get the ingredients quickly as I want to end the favour before next school year and I don't know how long it would take to finish the potion. I hope you can get the potions and send them to me as soon as possible.

'Adopted daughter' Tracey

Jacob smiled especially at the end Tracey was so many times her that he was almost his daughter. If Tracey looked more like Daphne so more like Isabel or him he could have been his daughter but because of her darker complexion, dark hair and different kind of face she wasn't.

He read the list and saw that there were quite some expensive and difficult to acquire ingredients, but he smiled at a few expensive ingredients he could get from the Black farms and Potter farms. He still had some contact to smuggle two illegal potions into England.

He asked Isabel to get some ingredients they have in their own greenhouse.

30th May 1994, Great Hall, Hogwarts

It was morning before classes and most students were in the Great Hall eating their breakfast. Suddenly a hoot was heard followed by many as the post was here. Many students had a subscription to the Daily Prophet, but only to know if anything about Sirius Black was known, was captured or maybe fled.

Daphne was eating when her owl landed in front of her with a letter and a package. They opened the letter with Tracey on her right and Lilian on her left although she liked to be called Lily.

She opened the letter and read:

Daphne,

I hoped you haven't talked about it yet. I can have most of the ingredients tomorrow, but some I cannot acquire as there isn't much supply of it in Britain, maybe you can try to borrow some of them from Professor Snape as he got the most of it according to my contacts.

I do agree the favour has not been repaid by our family yet so this is a perfect opportunity. It was quite pricey for some ingredients so if you can make the potion make sure you do it right as it would be very difficult to get the supplies for a second try if the first time fails but fortunately you are very good a potions.

Please let me know when you succeed or not to make the potions but also if he accepts your help.

Daphne was happy that if she could get all the ingredients soon she could probably do it before the end of this school year. She, however, doubted that Snape would lend something to her without wanting to know why and she couldn't tell. Also, she doesn't like Snape not as her potions professor and certainly not as the head of her house. She would prefer Professor McGonagall, she maybe though fair and grade her students fairly something Snape does not. He only praises the boys of Slytherin while she is the best in her year from Slytherin she never gets a compliment not that she really wanted it, but the points the other Professors would give would help her house although she started to dislike Slytherin house more and more.

Snape is also never nice to Harry, Neville and to a smaller degree the Weasel and Hermione while certainly Hermione like her deserves praise for the good potions and points for Gryffindor. Harry and Neville are almost continuously badgered by Professor Snape or in Harry's case Malfoy but they aren't the worst potion brewers by far.

Anyway, Snape was no option, but she wanted to try this and finally repay the favour.

30th May 1994, first period, history of Magic, Hogwarts

It was boring like always and the only one paying attention was Hermione while most were asleep including Harry. Harry had learned more from reading the book than staying awake as Professor Bins mostly talked about the Goblin rebellions and some important Goblins or wizards and barely talked about important witches.

As most were asleep and she needed to act fast Daphne asks Susan to talk. Susan with her friends and dormmates and Daphne with Tracey went to the back of the class where they weren't overheard or been seen.

Daphne said "Susan I need your help. I need to talk to Harry but I can't let the Slytherins know."

Susan saw that Tracey looked around to make sure no Slytherin was looking at them with curiosity in their eyes while Daphne used her ice mask which she had never done before on Susan as one of the few.

Susan asked, "what about eight-period today?"

Daphne thought and Tracey nodded. Daphne said "okay. In the same room as before where we talked with Harry the second time? And can you be present?"

Susan smiled and said, "sure that is okay, but I think Hannah, Sally-Ann and Megan want to be there too right girls?"

The girls nodded and Daphne said "that is no problem, but I need to ask if you all can leave when I go and talk with Harry. If it is no secret I will tell but I don't know if it is. Oh yes, that gets me to the second point Harry needs to come along. Hermione is nice but can't come and I certainly don't want the Weasel there."

Susan said, "I can try, but I don't know if it will work."

30th May 1994, Great Hall, Hogwarts

It was just past lunch when Susan walked to Harry who was with Hermione, Neville, Ron and Ginny while the other Gryffindor third years were standing just a foot away waiting on Harry it seems or one of the others.

Susan said "Harry can I talk to you?"

Harry said, "sure Susan what can I do for you?"

Susan said, "I was wondering if I can talk to you alone during the eighth period in the classroom where the second was."

Ron as Neville looked confused but Harry knew what Susan meant. The empty classroom on the 4th floor.

30th May 1994, eight-period, 4th floor, Hogwarts

Harry looked around and don't see anyone. He walked to the room with his hand on his wand as he trusted Susan but he saw Malfoy glaring at him when he went there without Hermione, Neville and Ron. Ginny had class as had the other years.

Harry reached the room and opened it before walking in.

30th May 1994, unused classroom, 4th floor Hogwarts

Harry saw Susan but also the other girls from Hufflepuff from his year and he should have known Daphne and Tracey. Harry was sure if the first years were having a free period Astoria would be here or at least close by.

Harry said "is something the matter? I made up with Hermione and she is my best friend again. Also, I thought we were good so why do you need to talk to me Susan and why are the others here?"

Susan blushed and said "actually I don't know Harry but Daphne wanted to talk to him but didn't want the Slytherins to find out. I hope you don't mind."

Harry just shrugged and said "no problem. What can I do for you, Daphne?"

Daphne asked, "do you remember my Christmas letter?"

Harry thinks back before nodded.

Daphne said "I think I can repay the favour. Astoria was in the library last Friday and heard you talking to yourself. Susan, could you please leave with the others. Tracey you can stay."

Susan nodded. When the Hufflepuff girls left and the door was closed Daphne continued "Astoria heard you talking about potion ingredients you need and as our family own an import and export company from potion ingredients and the likes I thought maybe my family can help with that and then I can repay the favour by helping you by making the potion if you needed help with that. Astoria said you did as you didn't want Hermione to make as she asks the question. I will do without if you promise me that it is harmless and not poison but also not that you force someone to drink it that will hurt it in any way."

Harry said, "well if you want to help I would be grateful especially if you get all the ingredients."

Daphne grabbed the parchment and said "as you can see most of them are crossed off and I got most of it already will more are arriving tomorrow. However, the ones that aren't crossed off my family couldn't get soon or at all, but my father suggested Snape had some in his personal storage."

Harry tried not to nod as they didn't need to know that Hermione brewed Polyjuice potion to infiltrate the Slytherin Common Room although it was only to talk to Malfoy.

Daphne continued "I don't think Snape would let me borrow it as I need a reason and it is very expensive and difficult to acquire, but if you can get it I think I can make the potion. I will also not tell Snape or anyone else that you borrow or better said stole it."

Harry was considering it but as he didn't have a better plan he agreed. Harry grabbed the parchment with the ingredients and how to brew it with all the additional information without the name and the meaning of the potion. Daphne read through and said "it would take a long time, but I can make preparations and I already got most of the ingredients. I can at least start the potion as I got the ingredients for the first steps and days. Tracey, you can help me too with cutting and stirring. Do you mind?"

Daphne asked both Harry and Tracey. She asked Harry if he minds Tracey to help and Tracey if she wanted to help her. Tracey nodded enthusiastically and Harry slowly nodded and said: "I don't mind but I don't want many people to know about it."

Daphne said "okay but Tracey already knew as did Astoria, but if you want I don't tell others not even Susan."

Harry said "you can tell them as they probably want to know but no one else and they must also not tell anyone. I do promise it isn't harmful, it isn't poison and I won't force anyone to drink it and that it would hurt them."

Daphne nodded and said "okay I can start today but I need to find a room that isn't used and that is not disturbed not by others, Professors or house-elves. I can make it in the Common Room but there would certainly be questions asked."

Daphne said "I will figure it out, Harry. I will let you know when it is done. If I start in the coming days I can have it done before the summer holiday."

Harry said, "I do want to thank you, Daphne, and if it is important to you the favour will be repaid fully then when you are done or at least tried to make it as it is a very difficult potion to make."

Daphne looked at the brewing instructions and saw that she could start as she has all the ingredients to make the start.

Daphne said "I can start as I said before but Harry I need the other ingredients fast. I don't care how you get them, but I need them."

Harry nodded and said while looking at the list "I will try to get them as soon as I can."

Daphne nodded and said, "then I will start."

Daphne walked to the door and looked outside and when she didn't see anyone she leaves the room with Tracey leaving Harry alone.

Let's end here. I wanted to post it last weekend but unfortunately, I couldn't get it out. As many readers want is to end the third year fast and I agree but I need to be done how I want it. I would try to let it not take more than three more chapters.

In the next chapter, Buckbeak will be executed, Malfoy gets his pride crushed and if the words count to allow it Sirius is revealed as would Peter.
