It is my first Harry Potter story. Will be Harry/Multi (Harem) and probably Neville/Multi. It will start at the beginning of the third year. Slow build-up. A smarter Harry and more friends. Earlier real friends with Neville and Ginny. Can be long between updates. Bashing RW/AD/?. We have reached the fourth year how will the earlier changes change the tournament and relationships?

Chapter 36 Ingredients acquired, meeting Penny and Luna, Buckbeak executed?

2nd June 1994, Dungeon, Hogwarts

It was at night. It was around 02:30 AM, an hour after their astronomy lesson has ended. Harry decided now was the best time to get the ingredients he needs so Daphne can make the potion. He has learned the needed ingredients out of his head. He hoped Snape was patrolling, but also hoped that Professor Lupin wouldn't look at the map or that he give it to Professor Dumbledore and he was looking. Professor Lupin was a friend of his parents and Harry still felt a bit ashamed as he found that Professor Lupin was right. He wouldn't be out of bed if this wasn't important, but it is he had a promise he needed to fulfil for Medusa. Also, Dobby thought he was right about Hedwig and Harry would do everything for her his first real friend and his constant companion Hedwig although Hagrid was his first (human) friend.

Harry use his invisibility cloak and didn't have any problems so far. Harry was able to use it to leave the Common Room when Professor McGonagall left the Common Room when she thought that everybody went to bed. Hermione has hugged him good night so it was a smart move to follow his year mates to their dorm before using his invisibility cloak, return to the Common Room evade the older years that came up the stairs and leave right behind Professor McGonagall. None of his dormmates knew he wasn't in his bed as he closed the curtains so the others also probably didn't know either.

He reaches Snape's personal (supply) storage. He looks around and sees no one, but when he enters the storage he hears a recognisable voice. He sees an elf he knows very well. It is Dobby.

Harry almost screams in surprise "Dobby?"

Dobby looks and immediately bows. He looks and when he sees only Harry he says "Master Harry."

Harry asks "Dobby what are you doing here?"

Dobby still bowing said "Dobby heard Master Harry needs supplies from bad Professor Greasy. Dobby wanted to get the supplies for Master Harry."

Harry smiled. Dobby really is great to have as he is always eager to help even though Dobby is a slave although Harry would never see Dobby like that or treat him like that. Dobby is very helpful.

Harry looks around one more time inside and out. When he doesn't see anyone and Dobby isn't looking for something he asks: "Dobby do you have everything I still need?"

Dobby says "almost Master Harry. Dobby got almost everything beside Horn of Bicorn, moke's tail, Infusion of Wormwood and extra powdered snake fangs. Dobby did take Tooth of Wolf as it should help the potion Master Harry let Miss Greeneygrass make as will the extra powdered snake fangs."

Dobby snaps his fingers and the four remaining ingredients levitate from their place to Dobby. Dobby bowed and asked, "did Dobby help Master Harry?"

Harry get on one knee and said "you sure did Dobby. Can you take me to my dorm, especially on my bed and put the ingredients inside a bag so I can give it to Daphne, Tracey or Astoria soon?"

Dobby enthusiastically nod. He pops out and comes back with a small bag and fills the bag. Dobby grabbed Harry's arm next. Less than a second later they were on Harry's bed.

2nd June 1994, third-year dorm, Gryffindor Tower, Hogwarts

Harry looks around and sees that everyone is asleep even Neville who most of the time waited for Harry he opens the curtain.

Dobby said " Dobby wants to help Master Harry with big snakey poison as it would help with the potion for big snakey. Dobby thinks it would help Master Harry's owl Hedwig if Master Harry adds some of Master Harry's blood with basilisk venom. Maybe Professor Whiskers phoenix Fawkes will help Master Harry too."

Harry sighed as it was a smart idea but it would be much more difficult than it already was. Harry said "Dobby I will need you when I am with Medusa. I need two empty vials to get some of her poison and maybe some blood."

Dobby nodded and said "Dobby will Master Harry. Master needs to sleep. Dobby will let Master get to sleep unless Master needs Dobby to help."

Harry said "that is not needed Dobby. You can better go to sleep if there is nothing you want or need to do. Put the bag in my trunk as you can while I get ready for bed."

Harry grabs some clothes to sleep in and walks to the adjacent bathroom. A few minutes later he came back and saw that Dobby was waiting.

Harry asks "is something wrong Dobby?"

Dobby shook his head and said "Dobby wants to wish Master a good night before Dobby left. Goodnight Master Harry."

Harry smiled and said "okay. Goodnight Dobby."

3rd June 1994, sixth period, Hogwarts

Harry was walking through Hogwarts. He could have gone with Hermione to the library, with Neville to the greenhouses or with Ron to the Common Room to play chess or another game. Harry wanted to be alone for a while. He felt something was coming it was the same when he with Hermione and Ron went to save the stone or when Hermione was attacked. He somehow felt Hermione was in danger but he didn't know he felt her being in danger.

Harry was walking around but staying near the ground floor as he had double potions as the last class before the weekend. Snape has become worse if that was even possible after Gryffindor won the Quidditch cup and there was no chance Slytherin would win the house cup and would end last unless Ravenclaw lost a lot of points in the coming weeks as Ravenclaw is third with a little bit behind Hufflepuff. It was close who would become second. Gryffindor was almost certain of winning the house cup no matter how many points Snape deducted. Most of the time the house that wins the Quidditch cup had a very good chance of winning the House cup.

Harry decides to visit Buckbeak and try to think of a plan to safe Buckbeak. He doesn't deserve what is going to happen to him. Hagrid did say not to insult Buckbeak and what does Malfoy do, exactly that. Harry was thinking if he could make Malfoy pay but Buckbeak is going to be killed nothing short of hurting Malfoy and injuring him for a long, long time is enough but Harry knew he couldn't the only other way is kill him and that is something he also couldn't do. Harry didn't think about the money Malfoy like to flaunt.

Harry walks outside and went to Hagrid's cabin. He doesn't see Hagrid as he has a class of seventh years. Harry sees Buckbeak and when Buckbeak notice Harry he gave a happy shriek. Buckbeak stands up and wants to walk toward Harry but before he could reach Harry the chain around his neck stop him. Harry rushes to Buckbeak to prevent Buckbeak from hurting himself.

Harry pets Buckbeak's beak while slowly walking to the pumpkin patch with Buckbeak beside him. Harry takes off his bag and takes a seat on a big pumpkin and Buckbeak lies down beside him. Harry said "I am sorry Buckbeak. I should have prevented Malfoy from antagonizing you. You acted as you would, it would be like asking a wizard or witch to not cast a spell it would be unnatural if you didn't attack him."

Buckbeak shrieks sounded like he understands Harry but doesn't blame him. He pushes his head against Harry's arm and Harry started to pet Buckbeak while enjoying the silence for a moment with only small happy sounds coming from Buckbeak that he was still petting. He wondered if there was a curse on him as the moment he stepped into the wizarding world he didn't have time to catch his breath or enjoy the silence until now. True this was the first time Voldemort wasn't after him although 'Sirius Black was his right hand, probably Voldemort's wand hand so it is kind of the same' Harry thought.

Buckbeak raises her head away from Harry. Harry notices and sees Buckbeak looking at something. Harry looks the same way and sees the Grimm, but instead of approaching him, the Grimm stays in the Forbidden Forest just past the tree line.

Harry hears a very familiar hoot and looks to see Hedwig approach him. He looks back and sees that the Grimm has disappeared. Harry sighed before holding his hand out for Hedwig to land on. She lands and slightly nibbles Harry's ear. Hedwig was happy Harry was feeling calm and content as he enjoyed the silence. Hedwig jumps to his right shoulder. Harry uses his right hand to continue petting Buckbeak who has lied down again and with his left hand, he scratched Hedwig which made her hoot with pleasure. He is with his back to the Forbidden Forest.

Harry was enjoying it when Hedwig suddenly bit his ear hard which make Harry jump up. He asked, "Hedwig why did you do that?"

Hedwig hoots and Harry looks behind him. He is surprised when he sees the seventh year Ravenclaw looking at him. He asked "yes?"

She said, "Harry I know we never really talked but I am Penelope Clearwater."

Harry interrupts her and said "yes I know you. You are Percy Weasley's girlfriend and I know as he is my good friends Ron and Ginny's brother. I am happy to see that you are fine after you were attacked together with my best friend Hermione Granger."

Penelope said "yes, I need to thank her. She kind of saved my life. I want to thank you to thank her but also to thank you for killing the monster no matter what it was. I think Hermione only went to research the monster because of you and therefore saved my ….. our life."

Harry just shrugged and said "I had no choice. He attacked Hermione and dragged Ginny down. I needed to save them and that the monster wouldn't attack anymore was a happy coincidence. I just wanted to save Ginny and I went with Ron and Neville to Professor Lockhart when I knew what the monster was but he was a fraud."

Penelope nodded and said "I thought so. The timeline didn't add up but I first thought I missed something, as the year went on his lesson, wasn't that good. It is a wonder some still managed to get their OWL's or NEWT's."

Harry just nodded and said, "I will tell Hermione, but don't you have class?"

Penelope said "class is already over and if you would tell her I would like that I tried to tell her before but she was very busy and didn't have time to talk, but I noticed she always have time for you. That is why I ask if you can."

Harry gave a smile and said, "no problem maybe after the NEWT's and our exams you can talk to her or on the train home after you patrol on the train, Penelope or do you prefer Miss Clearwater."

Penelope nodded and said "thank you Harry, but you can call me Penny after everything you did, talk nicely to me even though you are a half-blood at least. A couple of half-bloods aren't nice to a muggleborn like me although you are Hermione's best friend who is also a muggleborn so I maybe I shouldn't be that surprised."

Harry said "don't care what half-bloods or 'so-called' purebloods say. You are just as much a witch as there are a witch or wizard if not better."

Penny said "thank you, Harry, I mean much that you said it, but I think you should hurry the break is almost over I certainly need to as I got Ancient Runes. Oh, can you also thank Hermione for the talk we had earlier this year? I just forgot to thank her then as I had more on my mind at the moment."

Harry said, "sure Penny no problem."

Penny said, "thank you again, Harry, but I really need to hurry or I would be late, bye."

Harry said "bye Penny."

Penny almost runs towards the castle. Harry pets Buckbeak on his beak and scratch his neck before doing the same to Hedwig. Harry said "Hedwig you can better go to the owlery I got potions next and that is in the dungeon also Snape would love to dock points just because you are there. He may even dock points because you are a smart and beautiful owl."

Hedwig gave a thankful hoot and nibble before flying off. Harry said, "I will try to come by again Buckbeak."

Buckbeak stands up when Harry stands up and pushes his head against Harry's head before lying down again. Harry grabs his bag and walks to the castle ready to go to two hours of pure torture, hoping he doesn't lose too many points in this double potion class.

Immediately after potions even though Harry had a hard time during potions and only Hermione's hand on his hand under the table made sure he didn't explode and lash out at Snape. He told Hermione what Penelope said. He also told her that she wanted to thank her for some kind of talk earlier this year. Hermione said it was no problem, but she promised she wouldn't tell anyone what happened.

Harry said "okay, you don't have to tell me. Penelope didn't either but she did want to thank you."

Hermione smiled before she went to the library again while Harry, Ron and Neville went to the Common Room before dinner would start.

4th June 1994, Library, Hogwarts

Harry, Hermione, Ginny and Neville were in the library mostly by Hermione's urging to get ready for the exams if they are done with homework which Harry mostly was and to a lesser degree Neville and Ginny. Otherwise, finish your homework and then read to get ready for your (theoretical) exams.

It was in the afternoon and Hermione would have missed lunch if Harry didn't almost drag her to the Great Hall to have at least have one plate of food for lunch. Harry was reading theory about some spells in the charms textbook but he wasn't remembering what he read as he was thinking about how to get the potions supplies to Daphne, Tracey or Astoria. He can't just walk to Slytherin's table or Daphne as Draco was even madder than before. Daphne knew that and used Susan but Harry didn't want to use Susan as the exams were coming up. He thought about Hedwig but she would certainly be recognized by the other students.

Suddenly Harry thought that maybe Astoria, Tracey or Daphne could be in the library as last time Astoria was. Sure he didn't look for her and was heavily in the thought of getting the potion ingredients so didn't notice her, but as all four houses are here if he is close to a Slytherin no one will care. It is an idea as long as it is certain he didn't obviously talk to her. Malfoy will probably not be in the library. He could be close but the chance he would enter the library was very small. Sure he saw Malfoy in the library before but Malfoy like Ron was barely here so Harry thought maybe he could use that to his advantage.

Harry stood up to walk around the library. The library was large he went towards the entrance where most first-year books were. He looks around but doesn't see Daphne, Astoria or Tracey. The moment he turns around to walk back he walks against a girl. The girl falls to the ground. He remembers the girl as Ginny walks with her a lot and he kind of met her earlier this year.

Harry said "sorry ….. Luna right? Luna Lovegood?"

Luna looks up at Harry's hand. She would never take the hand but she looks into his eyes and sees a small smile. The smile was not malicious like others had it was more like he showed he was sorry and really wanted to help her. She trusted him and accepts his hand. Harry pulled her up but a bit too hard. He pulled so hard that she was pulled to his chest. Luna was normally not a girl that was embarrassed but even now she was blushing as she felt all the muscles and the heat but also love. Harry almost radiated.

Harry gently push her back and said "sorry. Your name is Luna Lovegood right?"

Luna says "you mean Looney Lovegood right?"

Harry says "no I would never… do people call you that?"

Luna nodded. Normally she would be a bit sad without showing it but saw Harry getting mad not at her but for her and that made her happy was much more than her sadness.

Harry said "Luna you shouldn't let the other people let you down. You are Luna Lovegood if they call you Looney just tell me and I am sure I can make them change their mind one way or the other."

Luna was doubting Harry, she didn't know if he was serious he was just a third year. However when she saw him smile she gave a small smile back and was hoping that she was right in trusting Harry but she knew she would not tell him at least not this year the Nargles told her to not seek contact with Harry until next year but they probably didn't know this would happen.

Harry saw her holding second-year books and asked: "do you work on your homework?"

Luna was wondering where he was going and just nodded.

Harry said "why don't come you sit with me, Hermione, Neville and Ginny. Maybe we can help you. Ginny said that you had some new ways to look at things maybe it could help with the homework from me, Neville or Hermione."

Luna asks "are you sure you are not making fun of me?"

Harry says "I am serious. Ginny said she is your friend so you are also my friend and I am sure that Hermione and Neville would love to meet you."

Luna was considering her action, but the trust Harry radiated and Ginny being her best/ only friend with the chance for more friends even though they would only be her friend because of Ginny but Ginny was also the reason that gave her the push to meet them.

Luna nodded. Harry said "that is great. Come with me we are at the back."

Barely two minutes later Harry was back at the table. He said "Hermione and Neville this is Luna Lovegood. Ginny if I remember you are her friend. I asked her to join us at the table as she was doing her homework and if needed we can help her, especially you Hermione if you have the time. Herbology would be you Neville and I think I can help with defence against the dark arts. Also Ginny mentioned that Luna gave her a new look at some things and maybe that would be beneficial for our homework and maybe even exams."

Hermione said "I would love to help you Luna and I am curious about your new way to look at things. Please join us."

Neville said with a huge smile "if you need I would love to help you with Herbology."

Ginny gave a smile even larger than Neville although that was barely possible. Ginny asks "Luna I asked if you wanted to work on homework earlier you said you wouldn't work on homework. Why did you lie?"

Luna said "I wouldn't want to intrude Ginny. I knew you would be accompanied by Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Neville Longbottom and I didn't know if they would mind."

Harry said "well Luna we don't and you can just call me Harry no need for my first name and sure name. Just Harry is okay."

Luna gave a large smile that Harry found beautiful and cute and she said "are you sure Harry Potter? I don't think …."

Harry said, "no matter Luna, You can just call me Harry."

Luna blushed a bit that Ginny noticed while Hermione was looking in her book and Neville was lost in thoughts as he remembered Luna from somewhere.

Luna said, "okay Harry."

Harry said "just take a seat I will grab your books and I was looking for someone. If you would excuse me."

Before anyone could say anything Harry walked back and saw Madam Prince floating the books to the desk. Harry said "excuse me Madam Prince but the books fell as I walked against Luna Lovegood and she fell letting the books fall. If you would not mind I would take the books and give them to her so she could use them if she needs them."

Madam Prince said "okay Mr. Potter but the next time be more careful as the books are precious …. Oh, and I hope Miss Lovegood is not hurt."

Madam Prince levitated the books to Harry so Harry could carry them to the table. When Harry had all the books he said: "of course Madam Prince I would try to not let the books fall again and Luna is not hurt but thank you for asking."

He walks back and Luna smiled when he saw Harry had all the books she was carrying. Harry didn't say anything but went back to walk and look through the library again. He didn't see Daphne, Astoria or Tracey but he felt eyes on him before like when he has potions. He looks and sees Lilian Moon looking at him. He decided to take a chance.

He walks to the closest bookcase which was mostly fourth-year books that he could easily explain. He walks close and whispers "Lilian Moon right? I need to talk to Daphne Greengrass or Tracey Davis. They are in your dorm right?"

Lilian was doubting if she heard her right, but when she looks at Harry he sees his dreamy green eyes looking at her. She stood up to look at a book in the bookcase behind her and said "I don't know about Daphne but Tracey would be here shortly. There is a big chance Daphne is with her. I am here already to get a desk to work at. I can let tell one of them that you are at Granger's….. uh, Hermione's table."

Lilian hoped that Harry would mind calling Hermione by her last name as she (like most Gryffindors) was talked about in Slytherin although Hermione was mostly called the mudblood Granger. Lilian didn't think about her like that but knew that calling her mudblood would be a bad, very bad decision.

Harry said flatly "I appreciate it."

Lilian Moon knew that her first 'talk' if you call it like that with Harry Potter, didn't end well, but hoped relaying the message would make it a bit better and maybe Daphne or Tracey can apologize for her calling Hermione, Granger.

It was almost 30 minutes later when he saw Daphne and Tracey enter the library but Daphne looks very annoyed. Daphne normally doesn't show anything but it seemed someone annoyed her too much that it showed through her ice persona. Harry hoped it was not because of the potion or making it.

Daphne looked at Hermione's table and walks towards and point to the back of the library away from Hermione's table. Harry gave a short nod and stood up. Harry passes a lot of bookcases until he reaches the back of the library. Almost nobody come here so he could talk to Daphne (or Slytherins in general). Daphne was already waiting for Harry.

Harry said, "hey Daphne."

Daphne asked flatly "Potter what is it?"

Harry didn't like how she just said his last name like Malfoy but decided to not call her out on it yet.

Harry said "I have the other ingredients. If you tell me where you are brewing I make sure you get it."

Daphne looks around making sure they are not heard. She said "okay I am brewing on the second floor near the lavatory of Moaning Myrtle as no classes are given near there Moaning Myrtle floods the floor many times a year like last year. I am using one of the classrooms. I wonder why last year it was even more than normal according to my mother and the upper years."

Harry decided not to comment on Daphne especially since he thought Daphne tried to trap Harry. Harry said "okay I will make sure that the potions ingredients get there. There is also the tooth of the wolf and extra powdered snake fangs that should improve the potion. I think it doesn't really matter when you add it but I leave that to you. The Tooth of the wolf must be a large wolf but anyway I make sure you get the potion ingredients."

"And Daphne I know most call me Potter but please don't. I don't want to offend you but it made you sound like Malfoy."

Daphne blushed but immediately look to the ground to make sure Harry didn't see it. When Daphne got her blush under control she looked at Harry and said "okay P… Harry, I am sorry. oh yeah before I forget Lily asked me to apologize for calling Hermione by her last name Granger instead of her first name."

Harry said "alright I will accept the apology this time but try to not forget it. Also if Malfoy is any indication I think most of us are only called by our last name in the Slytherin Common Room."

Daphne nodded and Harry said "I imagine you are here for the exams so let me not keep you any longer. The ingredients will be there shortly. I do want to ask one more thing and that is if the potion has started brewing without too many problems?"

Daphne answered "there was no problem. The most difficult was finding a place. I did ask Astoria to help me sometimes as she has more free hours than we have and sometimes when there must be stirred or something added I have class while she doesn't so she would do it for me. She is almost as good in potions as I am so I trust she would do what needed to be done when I tell her and she would not mess the potion up."

Harry gave her a smile that would make her blush and her knees go a bit weak but she managed to not blush by using her ice mask.

Harry said "okay just let me know when you are done. I think if you go to the Owlery and find Hedwig she would be more than happy to give me the message or use a school owl. Of course, you can also tell me like this or someone you can actually tolerate can tell me. Thank Astoria and Tracey for helping you for making the potion for me."

Daphne nodded but was a bit worried. Daphne had written to him that he should find someone she can tolerate. She thought that calling him Harry and wanting to apologize to him for hitting him showed she could tolerate him but maybe she was wrong. She didn't only tolerate him she liked seeing him. It was far more than tolerating him. There were only a couple she could tolerate and even fewer she liked to see.

Of course, she didn't know she was betrothed to him, but that shouldn't matter. She would not tolerate someone just because they are betrothed. She was able to tolerate Harry…. well actually it was much more she wanted to have Harry almost as much as Tracey if not the same. Obviously for a different reason but that doesn't matter to Daphne.

Daphne thought 'why did I need to write him with my mask in place. All I want is for Harry to see the real me but with Malfoy having power I can't. Maybe if he sees the real me he would like me what can evolve to love. I need to find a way to let him see I can and will tolerate him without Malfoy (or other Slytherins like Nott) finding out without dropping a too obvious hint that we are betrothed. Gra… Hermione may not see it but Neville will probably as he is probably smarter and more observant than most Slytherin give him credit for… at least I think so.'

Daphne sighed and thought 'I created the mask but can I get the mask off when I need to? I need my father to talk to Regent Potter or a representative from Regent Potter. If Harry knows we are betrothed he can protect me and Astoria from Malfoy. He can also protect Tracey and if needed Lilian (Lily). Pansy got Malfoy and Millicent is mostly with Pansy. I need to keep this up until the summer holiday when I can look over the Hogwarts charter without other Slytherins asking questions. Maybe there is a way to get out of the Slytherin dorms but only if Astoria and Tracey can come with me.'

Daphne sighed deep making sure his mask is in place before returning to the table with Tracey and Lilian. Maybe it is time to get Lilian closer to me if I want to help her, especially if what I remember hearing those fourth-year girls in my first-year talk about is true.

4th June 1994, Hogwarts

It was nearing dinner. Harry had managed to get Hermione to leave the library before dinner and requested she would not return after dinner. Hermione wanted to argue but she saw the sincerity in his eyes that he didn't mean anything by it. She reluctantly agreed.

It was after dinner when Ron accompanied them to the Common Room when he started to accuse Hermione that Crookshanks had eaten Scabbers again as he found blood and an orange hair on his bed not mentioning Crookshanks that has been in the third-year bedroom many nights a week after Sirius Black managed to enter the Common Room.

Hermione denied that Crookshanks wouldn't do that or at least that finding orange hair was barely evidence as Ron also has some orange hair with his red hair. Crookshanks may be a young cat that hunts rats and the like but it could also be one of the owls. Ron looked at Harry but decided not to accuse Hedwig as Harry would never stand for it and Ron had no evidence Hedwig had eaten his rat.

Ron didn't stop accusing Hermione. Harry was too deep in his thoughts to notice and Neville tried to defuse the situation, but Ron wouldn't let up. When they were on the fourth floor Harry said he needed to use the lavatory and went to the closest one.

When he entered he looked to see if he was alone. When he saw he called for Dobby silently so Dobby popped in silently. Dobby was happy to see Harry. Harry asked if Dobby could bring the bag with the ingredients to the second floor and needs to find a room where Daphne Greengrass, Astoria Greengrass and/ or Tracey Davis are brewing something.

Daphne didn't tell which classroom precisely but Harry told Dobby that it was near the second girl lavatory what is called Moaning Myrtle lavatory. When Harry said about the messages from last year Dobby knew what Harry meant. Harry asked Dobby to not show himself to Daphne, Astoria and/ or Tracey.

When Dobby's ears dropped Harry said: "Dobby it isn't that I don't want to hide you as you are a friend but if they see you they would ask me difficult questions and if Hermione hears it we will be in big trouble."

When Dobby hears that he hug Harry's leg again while crying. Dobby was crying as his master called him his friend. Dobby nodded enthusiastically. Harry asked if Dobby could make sure there would not be tempered with the potion but only intervene if someone tried. If they don't do anything bad to the potion do not intervene even if it isn't Daphne, Tracey or Astoria.

Dobby nodded and said, "Dobby will make sure the potion will not be wrong for Master Harry, Master Harry's owl Hedwig and big snakey Medusa."

Harry thanked Dobby and said he needed to go, but will try to see him again before the summer. Harry did say "Dobby I am sorry but I cannot see you the next week as I will be busy with class and end of the year homework. I hope you can work in the kitchen while I am busy if you want to."

Dobby nodded and said "Dobby will work in the kitchen like Master Harry had ordered Dobby in the summer. Dobby will not bother master Harry next week."

Harry sighed and said "Dobby you are no bother. I will just be very busy. I really need to go now. Bye Dobby."

Dobby bowed and said "Dobby understand Master Harry. Goodnight Master Harry."

When Harry looks later before sleeping in his trunk he saw that the bag was gone so Dobby had already taken the bag with ingredients to the classroom.

6th June 1994, Hogwarts castle, Hogwarts

It was the day Buckbeak would be executed. Hermione and Harry would want to be with Hagrid today but they had class it was Monday after all. Ron went with Harry and Hermione to see Hagrid. Neville, Ginny and others did want to accompany them but as they weren't that close to Hagrid (yet) or in Neville's and Ginny's they had homework they needed to complete. Ron also needed but he saw this as a good way to postpone and maybe even get sympathy from some teachers to get an extension if he needed to make it at all. Even if he needed to make it he was sure he could use the sadness of Buckbeak's death on Hermione so she would do the most and he would just need to copy it in his own handwriting.

It was eight-period and like every Monday the third-year Gryffindors had a free period. Hermione was in the library again preparing for the upcoming exams as was Neville. Ron was in the Common Room still postponing homework. Harry decided to take a walk. He was thinking of going to Hagrid soon. He was walking on the seventh floor as here he would most probably only see Ravenclaws or other Gryffindors. He is in the North Tower. When he walks around the corner he sees a stairwell leading up. He has never been here before and he was curious so he walks up the stairwell.

When he reached the top of the stairwell he sees a trapdoor with a ladder coming down. Before he realizes it is the divination classroom he sees something fall down. With his seeker reflex, he managed to catch it and see it is a crystal ball. He looks up and doesn't see the Professor or hear a class. He decided to climb up the stairs.

He sees Professor Trelawney watching at a wall. He asks "Professor Trelawney?"

She doesn't respond to Harry. When he walks closer to Professor Trelawney and put the ball on an empty stand the crystal ball suddenly starts to darken. He turns his back to Professor Trelawney as he focuses on the crystal ball and looks closely. A shape appears and it is unmistakably Sirius Black. Sirius Black changes into a black dog before turning back. He sees a shadow next to Sirius Black. Her shadow starts to take shape. It is a rat. It looked like Scabbers. Scabbers start to get large…

Harry gets turned around by a hand on his shoulder. Harry asks "Professor Trelawney….?"

Professor Trelawney said with an eerily hollow voice "he will return tonight..."

Harry stiffens and asks very confused "s-sorry?"

Professor Trelawney's hollow voice continues "tonight when the clock strikes twelve, the servant shall break free. He and his Master shall be reunited. It cannot be prevented."

Trelawney smiles savagely... then her head falls forward. When her head rises, she blinks, eyes the hand that lies on Harry's shoulder.

Professor Trelawney grabs her hand for his shoulder and asks "so sorry, dear boy. Did you say something? Or need anything?"

Harry notices her voice is normal once more. Harry shakes his head and said "no. Nothing. I just saw a crystal ball on the floor and came up to return it."

Professor Trelawney said "oh really thank you, boy. 10 points for Gryffindor."

Harry said "thank you" and immediately leaves. He didn't do it for the points but that was not the weird part.

6th June 1994, Hogwarts

It was after dinner. He rushes to the library as Hermione wanted to go to the library before going to Hagrid. She was done half an hour after dinner started. Hermione got around 45 minutes before he would go get here. He managed to drag Ron along When he reaches the library he sees Hermione outside. Hermione said "there you are Harry. I was waiting for you. I thought you wanted to go to Hagrid to support him."

Ron says "yeah, yeah come on let's go."

Harry asks, "what about Neville?"

Hermione said "he really wanted to come like Ginny but they had quite a lot of homework to do as they had trouble with some homework so they weren't done yet with homework for tomorrow. Ginny and Neville needed to do homework tonight otherwise they would get in trouble or Gryffindor will lose points."

Harry nodded and said, "okay let's go."

6th June 1994, Clocktower courtyard, Hogwarts

When they walk outside they see the executioner sharpening his axe. Hermione walks closer to Harry when they quickly walk past him.

When they are far away on the bridge Hermione says "I can't believe they're going to kill Buckbeak! It's too horrible."

6th June 1994, Hogwarts grounds, Hogwarts

When they reach the path down to Hagrid's cabin they see Malfoy, along with Crabbe and Goyle with binoculars in hand, spying on Hagrid, who stands in the pumpkin patch, tossing dead ferrets to Buckbeak. Hagrid wipes his eyes before going back into his cabin.

Malfoy says "Did you see the big, fat blubbering oaf?! Oh, this is going to be rich. Did I tell you, father said I can keep the head…"

Malfoy sees Harry, Hermione and Ron. He gave a smug smile before saying "ah. Come to see the show?"

Hermione grabs her wand and put it on Malfoy's neck. While she does that she says "you... foul... loathsome... evil... little cockroach..."

Malfoy stumbles back against a rock almost trembling with fear as Hermione moves the wand from his neck and jabs the tip of her wand under his nose.

Ron said, "Hermione, no."

Hermione turns around and looks surprised that Ron spoke to her, but he still has a mad expression on his face and looks away.

Hermione asked, "why?"

Ron shrugs "he is not worth it?"

Hermione growled, "I don't care."

Harry steps forward and put his hand on her hand with the wand. He calmly said, "Hermione, he is not worth it."

Hermione looks straight into Harry's eyes and nods. "You are right Harry," Hermione says.

She put her wand away and hit him as quick as lightning. Malfoy is hit in the face, right on his eye and as he looks up he gets another smack right on his jaw putting him flat on his back. Stunned for a second before he leaps to his feet and runs, Crabbe and Goyle huffing and puffing behind immediately follow.

Hermione says with a big smile "that felt good."

They walk down the patch and past the pumpkin patch where Buckbeak is enjoying a ferret. He sees Harry and gave a happy shriek. However before he is done with the ferret and stands up Harry, Hermione and Ron went inside Hagrid's cabin when Hagrid opens the door.

Harry and Ron went to sit by the window when Hermione makes some tea as Hagrid has been drinking butterbeer and some fire whiskey all day as he was excused from giving lessons today by Dumbledore.

Hagrid looks at Buckbeak from out of his window and said sadly "look at 'em. Loves the smell o' the trees when the wind blows..."

Harry gets a look of seriousness in his eyes. Hermione notices and almost knew what he was going to say.

Harry said, "I say we set him free."

Hermione thought 'I knew it would be something like that.'

Hagrid shakes his head and said "no they'd know I did it. And tha' would only get Dumbledore in trouble. Gonna come down, yeh know. Says he wants ter be with me when it... when it happens. Great man, Dumbledore."

Hermione pours Hagrid a cup of tea as she says "we'll stay with you too, Hagrid."

Hagrid again shakes his head and says almost angrily and loud "yeh will not! Think I wan' yeh seein' a thing like this! No. Yeh'll drink yer tea an' be off. But before yeh do - I wan' ter see you an' Ron shake hands, Harry."

Ron and Harry exchange a glance, then look to Hagrid.

Hagrid gave a watery smile while saying "thin' I haven' seen 'ow it's bin betw'n you two? Go on now."

Reluctantly, Harry and Ron extend their hands to each other and shake their hands.

Hagrid's smile grew a bit and said "good. Now then. Ron, I wan' ter see you hug Hermione."

Hermione and Ron scream in unison "what!"

Hagrid said "go on! You two've been at it all year. An' I'm sick o' it."

Hermione ad Ron both very uncomfortable step forward and perform perhaps the most awkward hug Hogwarts has ever seen.

Hermione quickly steps back as it felt wrong. She knew she would be much happier if Hagrid made her hug Harry. She only did it as Hagrid wanted it but also as not doing it would probably cause problems between Ron and Harry. As long as Harry is friends with Ron she would (barely) tolerate Ron.

Hagrid's smile dropped and said with a bit of sadness "crikey, tha's jus' abou' the most pathetic hug I e'er seen. But yeh did it, an' tha's wha' matters. There's jus' one other thing."

Ron says " I'm not kissing Fang if that's what you're thinking."

Hearing his name, Fang Hagrid's giant boarhound slams his tail happily on the floor. Hagrid turns takes the lid from a flour tin, and a tiny head, ears flecked with powder, emerges.

Ron screamed "Scabbers! You're alive!"

Hagrid smiles and gives Ron his pet back even if it was a rat "yeh should keep a closer eye on yer pets, Ron."

Hermione had a smile feeling a bit happy for Ron but also that it proved Crookshanks didn't eat him. She says "I think you owe someone an apology."

Ron not looking at Hermione says "right. Next time I see Crookshanks, I'll let him know."

Hermione turned mad and says "yes him too but I meant me."

Hagrid slammed his forehead with his head and says "here we go again."

Harry put his hand on Hermione's shoulder. Her anger decreases but she still looked mad look with venom in her eyes at Ron who was coddling Scabbers, who tried to get away from Ron.

Suddenly a glass jar on the shelf shatters. As Hermione picks up a jagged star-shaped stone, a second stone bounces off the back of Harry's head.

Harry says "ow!" while putting his hand on the back head where he was hit.

Harry turns and looks out the window.

Harry said "Hagrid."

Everyone turns to look out of the window. They see Dumbledore and Fudge's approach. Behind them, in a fluttering shroud of crows above him, the Executioner with his axe at his side. Hagrid begins to panic. The time has come, but also Harry being here wasn't supposed to happen.

Hagrid immediately says "yeh got to go! It's almost dark. If anyone sees yeh outside the castle it'll be trouble! Big trouble! 'Specially you, Harry."

Almost a minute later there is a knock on the door. Hagrid stiffens in fear. Harry speaks softly and almost whispers to the others "c'mon."

Just seconds after Harry, Hermione and Ron exit through the back door, Fudge, Dumbledore and the Executioner enter through the front.

A huge amount of crows land on the roof. More land into the pumpkin patch, begin to slowly circle Buckbeak. Harry and the others duck behind the pumpkins and watch Hagrid solemnly greet the others through the open window. Fudge appears at the window. Picks his nose. Just then, a shhh! is heard. Hermione turns. The branches of the trees move behind her. Hermione looks when Harry asks "What? Is something wrong?"

Hermione says "nothing, I just thought I saw... Never mind."

Harry, Hermione and Ron managed to get on top of the path without being seen by Professor Dumbledore, Cornelius Fudge or the executioner. From where they stood they couldn't see the pumpkin patch, but it was close. They could see the front door of Hagrid's cabin. They see Dumbledore point to somewhere they also couldn't see from their point while they have their back turned to Buckbeak and the forbidden forest.

They see the executioner walk close to the pumpkin patch. He raises his axe and then with a powerful downwards swing. A sickening chop is easily heard over the quiet Hogwarts grounds. Right after the chop the crows that were in the pumpkin patch and on Hagrid's cabin shriek and fly up in a frenzy. Their continuous shrieking is like a curse that Buckbeak is indeed killed by the executioner and Malfoy won by killing Buckbeak not that they cared Malfoy won. They were filled with sadness about Buckbeak's death.

Hermione trembles and falls into Harry's arms. She buries her face in his chest sobbing. Harry and Ron stared at the trees in disbelief. Harry without thinking put his arms around Hermione to comfort her. Hermione was happy about Harry trying to comfort her but her sadness about Buckbeak is too great to not stop sobbing and holding on to Harry.

Suddenly Ron screams "he bit me.

Harry looks at Ron and Hermione looks over her shoulder while still holding onto Harry. They see Scabbers dropping to the ground and running away. Ron immediately went after him.

Harry shouted "Ron! Stop! No!"

As Ron runs after Scabbers, Harry and Hermione chase Ron and Scabbers. They were running towards the Whomping Willow. Ron runners over a ridge. He disappears from view. Harry and Hermione immediately follow.

Harry and Hermione reach the top of the ridge and stop.

Hermione asks " Harry. You do realize what tree this is...?"

Harry nodded and answered "the Whomping Willow.'

Ron grabs Scabbers. Ron cradles Scabbers in his bloody palm and says "now behave yourself."

Ron is kneeling under the Whomping Willow but doesn't seem to notice.

Harry says "that's not good."

Hermione asks "what do we do Harry?"

Harry could only think of one thing as screamed "Ron! Run!

Ron looks at Harry when suddenly his face turns into fear and screams "Harry! Run!"

Harry turns around and looks behind as does Hermione. Hermione gasped as behind them is an enormous, pale-eyed, jet-black dog. The Grimm. The dog runs towards Harry and Hermione. Harry immediately pushes Hermione behind to shield her and somehow shields himself when the dog leaps clear over them.

Harry and Hermione turn around towards the Whomping Willow, Ron and the black dog. Ron screams "aaaahhh!"

The dog opens his mouth showing his teeth before biting on Ron's foot and dragging him closer to the Whomping Willow like a rag doll. Immediately Harry dashes forward with incredible speed leaps out and tries to grab Ron's hands. The dog is strong and drags Harry and Ron along.

Hermione had grabbed Harry's feet and says "I've got you, Harry."

The dog still managed to drag Ron, Harry and now even Hermione along. The dog vanishes into an opening at the base of the tree (Whomping Willow) and begins to pull Ron through.

Ron screams "Harry".

Harry screams "hold on, Ron!"

Harry was still holding onto Ron's hand but it was no use. The dog is too powerful. Harry looks directly into Ron's eyes. He can read his mind.

Harry says "no, Ron I am not letting you go."

One by one, Ron releases his fingers from Harry's forearm letting the dog take him. Harry didn't want to let Ron go but thought to himself if the dog is familiar and would never hurt someone without good reason.

Harry screams "no" as he sees Ron fully release his hand, close his eyes and disappear into the hole dragged along by the dog.

Harry and Hermione stand up and look in the hole. Hermione says "idiot."

The moment after Hermione said it she get swept off her feet by the Whomping Willow. Almost immediately after Hermione Harry gets swept off his feet by a larger branch into the air and drops them on their back just outside of the Whomping Willow's reach.

Harry says "we need to follow Ron."

Hermione nodded but a bit reluctantly but even she couldn't let Ron behind like that. Harry stands up and holds his hand out to Hermione to help up. When they both were standing they run back toward the gap in the tree.

A large branch tries to hit them but both managed to evade it. Another branch came from the side. Hermione manages to duck but Harry doesn't and gets hit. He was hit with such force that he is flown to the side but his glasses aren't.

Hermione sees his glasses fall and try to get them but before she could she jumps over one branch. She was quite pleased with herself but the smile she had was almost immediately swept off her face when she got hit by a second branch.

Hermione holds on to the second branch almost riding it like a broom. She looks down and sees Harry searching the ground for his glasses. She sees the largest branch moving in position to slam Harry hard into the ground if not kill him.

Hermione screams "Haaaaaaarrrrrryyyy!"

Harry squints up to see without his glasses. He sees something large coming toward him and instinctively rolls away to evade it. Hermione sighed as that branch went for Harry's head killing him if he had hit. She wanted to hate the Whomping Willow try to kill her Harry but this is what the Whomping Willow does, why she didn't know but didn't care at this moment.

Harry gets to stand up when a small branch works him to the ground again. Harry feels around when he feels his glasses in his hand. Hermione was still holding on not losing her hold while she thought about the Whomping Willow. Hermione saw that Harry had found his glasses and saw that she was close to Harry.

The moment Harry put on his glasses just in time to see Hermione clearly heading towards him, almost flying madly toward him.

Hermione screams "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Hermione reaches out, grabs Harry's shirt and holds onto him until she let him go letting him fall directly into the hole or better said gap beneath the Whomping Willow as it looked made.

Harry hits the ground hard with Hermione almost immediately after him. Hermione landed hard on Harry.

Hermione blushes hard feeling his muscles but still soft enough for her to land without hurting herself. She said "thanks."

Harry said "don't mention it. Lumos."

Harry didn't see the blush as he was looking into the darkness. Harry's wand tip light up reveals a long, snaking tunnel. Hermione said "it looks like this is man-made and not natural. So it is not a hole but better said a gap."

Harry nodded. When he steps forward Hermione grabs his hand without his wand but doesn't hold him back.

Hermione asks "where do you suppose this goes?"

Harry says " I have a hunch. I just hope I'm wrong...

Harry and Hermione make their way through the man-made but primitive passageway while ducking the roots that dangle overhead. Suddenly abruptly, the tunnel ends. Harry and Hermione glance around confused. Then Harry looks up. He sees a small opening. Harry reaches up and hoists himself through.

Harry beds down and pulls Hermione up. Hermione looks into his green eyes and says "thanks, Harry."

When Harry looks around. She isn't lost in his eyes anymore and also looks around. The walls are barely standing up with some paper peeling off the walls almost everywhere. Stains on the floorboards that look suspiciously similar to dried blood and shattered furniture lie strewn everywhere like it was a storage place.

Hermione asks "we're in the Shrieking Shack, aren't we?"

When Harry doesn't answer and stares at the dog prints in the dust on the floor. Suddenly the ceiling creaks. Harry run up the stairs. Hermione although a bit frightened followed Harry but also felt safe and less afraid knowing Harry was with her. Without Harry, she would be much more frightened and much less safe or at least it felt like that.

I end here now. I did get in this chapter what I wanted. The next chapter will be mostly canon with some 'small' changes. If the words count to allow it, we will reach the end of the third year. If not the next chapter it will certainly be the chapter after that. When I end the third year there will be a question to answer.
