dsChapter 37 The Shrieking Shack, the truth about Harry's parents, time is relative

I will start with a question I want to ask my readers.

It is easy yes or no on adding Fleur and Dora to the harem of Harry or only one of the two. I already got some requests about it so I thought let's see what my readers want. I can work with all options as I got multiple ideas. Just PM me or put your answer in a review.

If you want Fleur in Harry's harem do you want to see her at Hogwarts or at the Quidditch world cup? When do you want her to meet Harry Hogwarts or Quidditch World Cup? Or if you don't want her in Harry's harem do you want her to have her Canon partner William (Bill) or different and when does she meet him?

Before you ask if you want her in Harry's harem Bill will get another partner (not OC). Who is a surprise but it is not Dora as she can be in Harry's harem too!

6th June 1993, the Shrieking Shack, just outside of Hogsmeade

This chapter is canon with a few changes or additions.

The floor was full of dust but you can clearly see something or somebody was dragged up the stairs and to the end of the hallway. The door was slightly open a light seeped from the narrow crack.

Harry says "Nox".

The light of his dies down. Slowly, they step to the door. Hermione looks at Harry and he looks back. Hermione nods with her wand in her hand and Harry with his. Harry barges in kicking the door open.

The first thing Harry and Hermione notice are Ron. He is sitting upon a sagging bed, clutching his bloody foot.

Hermione asks "Ron! You're okay bu….

Harry interrupts Hermione and asks "the dog…..where's the…"

Ron almost immediately interrupts Harry and screams "he's the dog. It's a trap, Harry. He's an Animagus..."

Harry looks to the ground and follows the paw prints on the floor change to human feet prints. He sees after a few prints a pair of filthy human feet. The door closes and Harry looks up slowly at the man standing in the shadows. Filthy long hair hangs to his shoulders. His skin is white like a corpse.

Sirius Black has a smile while he studies Harry's face keenly. Harry draws his wand.

Hermione almost jumps in front of Harry grabbing his left wrist with her left hand saying angrily "if you want to kill Harry, you'll …. you'll... have to kill us, too!"

Sirius Black says loudly "no. Only one will die tonight."

Harry managed to free his wrist and rushes past Hermione while saying "then it'll be you!"

Hermione wants to scream Harry and no. She is afraid for Harry's safety but she couldn't get to say it. Harry rushes to Sirius Black and grabs him by his throat before he manages to get Sirius Black to the floor. Harry grabs his wand pointing it at Sirius's face

Sirius Black with a crazy smile asks "are you going to kill me, Harry?"

Harry raises his wand but before Harry could answer his question the door crashes open. It is Professor Lupin.

Professor Lupin cast "Expelliarmus" at Harry making his wand fly past Lupin to the top of the stairs just past the entrance of the door.

Professor Lupin uses his wand to make Harry get off Sirius and move back. Hermione immediately grabs Harry's left arm and pulls him towards her. Hermione kept holding on to this left arm. Hermione hasn't moved now with Harry next to her while Ron was still sitting caring for his bloodied leg and foot.

Lupin eying Black intensely who was still on the floor. Lupin points his wand at Sirius while saying "looking a bit ragged, aren't we, Sirius? Finally… the skin reflects the madness ….. within."

Sirius Black says "you'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you, Professor Lupin?"

Professor Lupin lowers his wand and has a small smile on his face as he bends down with his hand extended. Sirius accepts the extended hand and Professor Lupin pulls Sirius back to his feet. It immediately went into a hug between Professor Lupin and Sirius Black. It almost looked like they are brothers for years.

During the hug, Sirius says " I found him."

Professor Lupin says calmly "I know."

Sirius continues "It's him."

Professor Lupin says "I understand."

"Let's kill him," Sirius says.

Meanwhile, Hermione couldn't believe what she was seeing she walks one step forward with disbelief and confusion but also realization and understanding on her face. She can't believe a teacher helps a serial killer, a Death Eater to kill a student and not just a student but her Harry.

Hermione shouts "no! I trusted you! I covered up for you. And all this time you've been his friend!"

Hermione points to Professor Lupin without stopping "he's a werewolf! That's why he's been missing classes!"

Harry and Ron stare. Ron stares dumbfounded while Harry thinks about it and sees the logic in it. Harry, however, knew that it didn't matter Professor Lupin may be a Werewolf but besides being friends with Sirius Black he was or is very nice. Black howls as a wolf while giving Professor Lupin a smile Harry had seen in his memories before when he had a memory of Sirius Black.

Professor Lupin and Sirius stop the hug. Professor Lupin put his hand on Sirius's shoulder before stepping a few steps to Hermione. Harry was slowly getting closer to Hermione to protect her.

Professor Lupin saw that and noticed the fire in his eyes James had when someone threatened Lily only the eye colour was different as Harry has Lily's eyes. Professor Lupin doesn't get closer as he remembered the power James showed and he was almost certain Harry was even more powerful maybe not yet but he would reach James sooner rather than later. Professor Lupin asks "how long have you known?"

Hermione says barely containing her anger "since Professor Snape gave the class an essay about Werewolves as homework."

Professor Lupin says "well, well, well Hermione. you're the brightest witch of your age I've ever met."

Sirius walks behind Professor Lupin before he screams "enough talk Remus. Come on! Let's kill him."

Professor Lupin says "wait, Sirius …"

Sirius continues screaming "I did my waiting! Twelve years of it!... In Azkaban!

Professor Lupin eyes Sirius before looking at Hermione and Harry while taking a deep breath. Hermione has taken a few steps back standing beside Harry. Professor Lupin looks back at Sirius and then nods.

Professor Lupin sighs one more time and says "very well kill him, but wait for one .. more.. minute. Harry has the right to know why."

Harry says in I loud voice "I know why you betrayed my parents! You are the reason they are dead! You sold them to Voldemort!"

Sirius screams "it's a lie! I never would've betrayed James and Lily!"

Professor Lupin tries to get Harry's attention by saying " Harry! You've got to listen…."

Harry interrupts Professor Lupin when he shouts "did he listen? When my mother was dying! Did he hear her screaming?"

Sirius says almost quietly "no! I wasn't there! And I'll regret it for the rest of my life!"

Professor Lupin immediately says "no Harry it wasn't him somebody did betray your parents but it was somebody who until quite recently I believed to be dead."

Hermione wanted to hug Harry as she sees the pain and unfallen tears in his eyes but managed to control her urge to try to keep the pain away from Harry as he talked about his parents. She suddenly focused on Professor Lupin when he denied Sirius Black from killing Harry's parents. She wondered if he was speaking the truth or if he just wanted to protect Sirius Black, his friend.

Ron was looking but was too preoccupied with his bloodied leg and Scabbers still struggling to getaway.

Harry shouts back "who was it then?"

Sirius screamed almost crazy "Peter Pettigrew. And he is in this room right now. Come out, come out, Peter. Come out, come out and play..."

Harry thinks 'could he mean Scabbers? Scabbers has shown weird behaviour and it only happened this summer after Sirius has escaped.'

Before Harry could ask Snape suddenly appears and cast "Expelliarmus" disarming Sirius as Professor Lupin gave Sirius his wand. Professor Lupin gave him his wand to kill Peter but first, he found that Harry had the right to know why.

Hermione almost gasps, grabbing Harry's hand in the progress while Ron with Scabbers in his hand what shocked by Snape's appearance and Scabbers looks relieved.

Professor Snape looks at Sirius before he says "ah, vengeance is sweet. How I hoped I'd be the one to catch you."

Professor Lupin says "Severus …" but stopped talking as Snape points his wand at Professor Lupin.

Professor Snape says "I told Dumbledore you were helping your old friend into the castle. And here's the proof."

Sirius says "Brilliant Snape! What's input your keen and penetrating minds to the task and as usual come to the wrong conclusion. Now if you excuse us Remus and I have unfinished business to attend to."

As Sirius approaches Snape, Snape puts his wand on Sirius' neck.

Professor Snape says "give me a reason. I beg you."

Professor Lupin tried to defuse the situation although he knew it was almost impossible. 'James hated Snape mostly because of his affection for Lily will James really loved her besides him being a Slytherin and James a Gryffindor. Somehow Sirius hated Snape even more than James even though Sirius didn't love Lily like that. Sure Sirius loved Lily but not in the same way James and Snape did. Sirius found Lily like his older strict sister. Sirius told that to him and James but got hexed by Lily when she heard it.'

Professor Lupin immediately says while thinking about James, Lily, Sirius and Snape "don't be a fool, Severus!"

Sirius says "he can't help it. It's a habit by now."

Professor Lupin interrupts Sirius by saying "Sirius be quiet!

Sirius screams at Professor Lupin "be quiet yourself Remus!"

Remus turns around knowing it was almost impossible.

Professor Snape still with his wand pointed at Sirius' neck says "listen to you two. Quarrelling like an old married couple. The creature and the criminal."

Sirius says "why don't you run off and play with your chemistry set."

Snape says "witty as ever. I could do it for you but why deny the Dementors they are so longing to see you."

Snape sees Sirius react and says "do I detect a flicker of fear? Dementor's Kiss One can only imagine what it must be like to endure. It's said to be unbearable to witness. But I'll do my best."

Professor Lupin tried to one more time stop Snape by saying "Severus please."

Meanwhile, Harry has released his right hand out of Hermione's and was slowly going behind her back. Hermione feels Ron grab her arm. She was getting angry but before she could say anything she felt Harry's arm behind her. She understands what Harry wanted to do and that was to grab her wand. Hermione didn't know what Harry was planning.

Snape's eyes harden. He gestures to the door with his head for Sirius and says "after you."

Snape meant Sirius but he looked to Harry, Hermione and Ron meaning he also meant it for them.

Harry steps away with Hermione's wand in his hand. He points at Sirius. Sirius tries to back away afraid his own godson is going to curse him.

Harry cast "Expelliarmus" at the last moment right before the spell leaves the wand he points it a Snape.

Snape flies back to the wall with a bed. Snape hits one of the bedposts making the top of the bed collapse on top of him while they also hear a THUD meaning he also hit the wall. Ron and Hermione stare in shock.

Ron asks in disbelief "Harry what did you just do?"

Hermione says in disbelief "you attacked a teacher."

Harry doesn't matter. He was only with a wand now. He points it at Sirius. Harry demands and asks "tell me about Peter Pettigrew."

Professor Lupin starts to talk and Harry points Hermione's wand at him. Professor Lupin says "he was at school with us. We thought he was our friend."

Harry says "no, Pettigrew is dead. You killed him."

When Harry said "you" he points the wand at Sirius again. Sirius laughs mirthlessly.

Professor Lupin says while walking between Sirius and Harry "no he didn't. I thought so, too. Until YOU mentioned seeing Pettigrew on the map."

Harry says "the Map was lying then…."

Sirius interrupts Harry by saying "the Map never lies. Pettigrew's alive. And he's right there."

Sirius points at... Ron. Ron goes white with fear and would run if he could.

Ron asks with full disbelief "m-me? It's mental...

Sirius immediately interrupts Ron and says "not you, you idiot. Your rat."

Meanwhile, Hermione thought immediately when Sirius points at Ron and Ron denied being Pettigrew the same 'Ron you idiot he means the rat.'

Ron was still with full disbelieve "Scabbers? Scabbers has been in my family for …"

Sirius again interrupts Ron and says bitterly "twelve years. Curiously long life for a common garden rat. He's missing a toe, isn't he?

Ron says "so what?"

Harry has lowered the wand and says understandingly "all they could find of Pettigrew was his -

Sirius says "finger" while looking from Harry to Ron or better said Scabbers "finger. The dirty coward cut it off so everyone would think he was dead. Then he transformed into a rat."

Hermione feels Harry's magic rise a bit as did Remus and Sirius will Ron in pain and doesn't believe Sirius didn't notice. Harry stares into Sirius' eyes. Wanting to believe. Desperate to believe. Harry now knows the dog was Sirius and he remembers the smile a younger Sirius has and why the dog seemed familiar in Diagon Alley last summer. Harry looks at Ron and sees Ron's agonized face, but also sees Scabbers squirm violently.

Harry almost commands "show me."

Professor Lupin and Sirius turn to Ron while he continues to hold Scabbers protectively. Sirius tries to get Scabbers but Ron hold onto him.

Harry says "give it to him Ron."

Sirius manages to grab Scabbers. Ron wanted to get after him but with his wounded leg and Hermione stopping him he couldn't. Hermione stops him as she knew Harry needed this also she somehow knew he needed her to stop him.

Ron asks "what are you trying to do to him?"

Lupin grabs two wands that lie on the ground. One wand is Professor Lupin's wand and the other is Professor Snape's wand as Harry disarmed him.

Sirius says to Professor Lupin before putting him on the piano "together."

Sirius and Professor Lupin non-verbally try to hit him to get him to turn back to human. Scabbers evades until he gets off the piano seeing a small opening in the wall. However, he runs in a straight line and gets hit. He starts to turn and gets stuck in the opening. Sirius and Remus pull him out of the wall and Ron look with a confused and unbelievable face.

Pettigrew stops his sniffing like a rat and looks up. He says "R-Remus ….. S-Sirius …. my old friends."

After Pettigrew says that he tries to run's past them but Remus and Sirius prevent him from leaving and shove him back inside the room.

Remus nor Sirius speaks. Pettigrew looks around to find a way out when he sees Harry.

Pettigrew walks to Harry and says " Harry! Look at you! Y-you, look just like your father. Like James. We were the best of friends, he and I …"

Sirius has rushed forward and points his wand at Pettigrew forcing him back away from Harry while saying "how dare you to speak to Harry."

Pettigrew snarls as runs to the piano to prevent Sirius and Remus from capturing him. Sirius says "how dare you to talk about James in front of him."

Pettigrew was captured as on one side was Sirius with his wand (snape's wand) pointed at Pettigrew and on the other side was Rems with his wand also pointed at Pettigrew.

Remus asks angrily "you sold James and Lily to Voldemort, didn't you?"

Pettigrew almost whiney says " I didn't mean to! The Dark Lord, you have no idea the weapons he possesses! Ask yourself what you would have done, Sirius. What would you have done!"

Sirius shouts in answer " Died! I rather die than betray my friends!"

Pettigrew crawl under the piano trying to make a break for it but Harry sees it and blocks the door from opening.

Pettigrew whispers in Harry's ear "Harry, James wouldn't want me killed. Your dad would spare me, he would show me mercyyyyyyy."

Pettigrew gets pulled away from Harry by Sirius and Remus and shoved back into the room again.

Sirius says "you should have realized, Peter, if Voldemort didn't kill you we would."

Remus glances at Sirius at the same time Sirius glances at Remus. Sirius says "together."

Harry shouts "no."

Remus starts speaking "Harry this man…."

Harry interrupts saying "I know what he is, but we take him to the castle."

Pettigrew falls to his knees and says "bless you boy. Bless you."

Pettigrew tries to grab Harry and Harry says "get off me. I said we take you to the castle after that the Dementors can have you."

Pettigrew becomes afraid. Harry's magic start to decrease. They grab Ron and Remus keeps his wand on Pettigrew. Harry walks to the stairs for his wand and then gives Hermione her wand back. Hermione wanted to hug him for everything he did to now, but also to support him and make him better in whatever he needed. She knew now was not the time and follow Sirius and Harry who were helping Ron.

6th June 1993, Secret passage underneath the Whomping Willow, Hogwarts grounds

Sirius and Harry support Ron when Sirius says "sorry about the bite. I reckon that twinges a bit."

Ron says "a bit, a bit you almost tore my leg off."

Sirius says "I was going for the rat. Normally I have a very sweet disposition as a dog. In fact, more than once James suggested I make the change permanent. The tail I can live with, the fleas there murder."

Sirius pushes the place to stun the Whomping Willow and climbs out helping Ron and Harry. Sirius and Harry place Ron on a rock near the entrance to the secret passage. Hermione immediately climbs when Harry holds out his hand to help her out.

6th June 1993, (near) the Whomping Willow, Hogwarts grounds

Sirius has walked a bit away from the Whomping Willow as he looks at Hogwarts. Harry and Hermione stay by Ron when Ron says "okay you better go."

Harry sees Ron looking in the direction of Sirius and says "no, no, no that's fine I'll stay."

Hermione put her right hand on his arm and says "you go I stay" while she points with her head toward Sirius.

Harry stands up and says "okay fine."

Harry walks to Sirius and just when he stands beside him Sirius rhetorically asks "it's beautiful isn't it? I never forget the first time I walk through those doors. It'll be nice to do it again as a free man. It was a noble thing you did back there. He doesn't deserve it."

Harry says "I don't reckon my dad wants his best friends to become killers for a worthless piece of vermin like Pettigrew. Besides: Dead, the truth dies with him. Alive... you're free."

Back at the Whomping Willow Ron pretends to be badly hurt. Hermione says "that looks really painful."

Hermione tries to show compassion as Ron did get bitten by Sirius in dog form but if she was honest as it isn't life-threatening most of her mind was with Harry hoping everything goes well and wanting there to support him if he needs her.

Hermione gets back to focus on Ron as he says "so painful, they might chop it."

Hermione obviously rolls her eyes but as it is night Ron doesn't see it. Hermione says with compassion "Madam Pomfrey will fix it in a heartbeat."

Ron says "it's too late. It will have to be chopped off."

Hermione rolled her eyes again while saying "I am sure it is going to be alright. Sirius's bite isn't that deep if he wanted to hurt you he could have done a lot worse."

Ron says "maybe you are right. He was just after Pettigrew. I don't know how we could have never thought about the long life he had even for a magical rat it is long, although he never showed anything magical."

Sirius and Harry look at them when Remus comes out of the secret passage with a tied up and struggling Pettigrew. Sirius and Harry turn back around looking at Hogwarts.

Pettigrew immediately hangs on Ron with his tied hands on his shoulder desperately begging Ron "no... please... you can't... Ron! Haven't I been a good friend? A good pet? You won't let them kill me, will you? I was your rat."

Pettigrew's eyes dart to Hermione "Sweet girl. Clever girl. Surely you won't let them..."

Hermione has felt Harry's magic again as did Remus and Sirius did as standing right next to him. Harry had turned to face the Whomping Willow then. Pettigrew has put his tied hands on Hermione's shoulder to beg. Hermione wants to shake her shoulder away when she felt Harry's magic.

Harry almost growled, "don't you dare touch her Pettigrew, you rat."

Pettigrew immediately let Hermione go and when he was fully out of the secret passage he was on his knees and begs "turn me into a maggot. A dung beetle. A Flobberworm! Anything but the Dementors..."

Pettigrew tries to be again first at Ron " Ron! Haven't I been a good friend? A good pet? You won't let them kill me, will you? I was your rat."

Ron tries to back away with his injured leg but could do move a few inches before winching in pain.

Hermione thought 'I should have put Pettigrew under the Somnambulist Charm which is primarily used to transport the seriously deranged.'

Pettigrew tries to beg Hermione again "sweet girl. Clever girl. Surely you won't let them..."

They hear Harry without him turning around to say "what did I say rat."

Pettigrew immediately let Hermione go and quiet down defeated hoping for something that would distract them enough for him to escape as they don't listen to his pleas.

Sirius says without looking at Harry "I don't know if you know, Harry, but when you were born, James and Lily made me your godfather and if the worst case scenario happened they made me your guardian."

Harry gave a small smile and says "I know."

Sirius says almost shyly "but well, I'll understand if you choose to stay with your aunt and uncle, but if you ever wanted a different …"

Harry immediately interrupts Sirius and hopefully without being too obvious asks "Come live with you?"

Sirius's large smile drops a bit and says "well that is just a sort of thing I understand if you don't want to…."

Before Harry can answer he wants nothing more at the moment Hermione fearfully calls "Harry."

Sirius and Harry turn around seeing Hermione point at the horizon as the full moon rises above one of the larger mountains. The full moon would be on the 23rd of June but once every couple of years there is a full moon between one and two weeks after a lunar eclipse that has happened at the end of May (1994).

Remus stood like a zombie not moving and with his mouth open or was in some kind of trance while his skin has almost immediately changed colour to a more ghastly shade of grey hair. Harry had rushed to Ron to help Hermione get Ron away if needed.

Sirius runs to Remus and tries to stop him from changing even though he knew that it was impossible "Remus, old friend... did you take your potion tonight?."

Pettigrew saw the wand and moved as far as he could to not get hit if a spell was fired. Sirius grabs Remus to keep trying the impossible what Sirius still knew especially when Remus looks at Sirius while he twitchingly shakes his head before Lupin get entrenched by the full moon and drops his wand.

Sirius says "you know the man you truly are, Remus.

Sirius tries to put his hand on Remus's heart before saying "this heart is where you truly live. This heart! Here! This flesh is only flesh."

Pettigrew managed to grab the wand, but before he could cast a spell on Remus and Sirius Harry pointed his wand and casts "Expelliarmus".

Harry keeps his wand on Pettigrew when he starts to change into his Animagus form again while 'politely' waving bye. Harry saw the rat run away in his rat form and wanted to follow. Hermione, however, grabbed him to stop. She only needed on hand on him as Harry trust her completely. Hermione did it to save him as Dementors were still around but also without him she would be very, very afraid.

Sirius was still trying to get through to Remus but it didn't seem to be working. Sirius keeps screaming "Remus, Remus!"

Remus was transforming into a werewolf. Harry, Hermione and Ron saw the nails turn into claws and Remus's cries were slowly started to sound like howls. Suddenly his clothes start to tear and become longer and his boons are reshaped to become a werewolf.

Sirius saw the clothes tear and felt Remus's feet become larger and dog/ wolf-like. Sirius screams "ahhhh. Run."

Harry, Hermione and Ron are stunned by fear although Ron was also stunned from pain with tears in his eyes from the pain. The transformation ends with Remus tossing Sirius in the air when Remus wants to get free. Professor Lupin/ Remus is no longer human for the night at least. He's a werewolf. Harry and Hermione begin to edge back when Remus begins to whimper.

Hermione says to Harry and Ron "wait, wait."

Ron tries to run away but couldn't with his leg as Harry didn't move. Ron whines "Hermione …. What are you doing?"`

Harry doesn't say anything trusting Hermione but is ready to jump in front of her if Remus tries to attack her.

Hermione slowly approaches Remus and slowly asks "Professor...?... Professor Lupin?"

Remus tried to smile at Hermione but that looked like the last restraint of the potions as he howls. He starts to growl showing his mind has come full animal. Remus slowly approaches them when Ron starts to mutter what sounded "where is Dobby? Where is Dobby?" but it was so low and whiney that Harry couldn't be sure.

Dobby didn't appear as Harry ordered not that he wanted Dobby to be here as he could get hurt by Remus and would never want Dobby to get hurt. However, Snape did appear. Snape has apparently woken up. He comes out of the Whomping Willow passage and says "there you are Potter."

Snape almost jumps up as he hears Remus as a werewolf growl at him as he stands in front of Hermione, Harry and Ron. Ron even though he is barely able to see because of the pain, points to Remus. Snape turns around and tries to shield them as he was told to do that no matter who is it was by Dumbledore but Dumbledore said that Harry would probably be one and said that Ron would be too although he said nothing about Hermione. Snape had agreed.

Remus sweeps his arms to get the group out of each other as it would be easier to get them. Snape and Hermione fall to one side and Harry and Ron to the other. Remus growl again and approach ready to hit Harry or Ron, but before he could a large black dog attack Remus from behind. They start to fight. The black dog got thrown back but not for and takes place between Remus and the group of Snape, Harry, Hermione and Ron.

They growl at each other before they start to fight again by jumping against each other. Remus managed to hurt Sirius a few times before he throws him to the side. Remus focused on the group again but Sirius wasn't down as he bites one of Remus' arms. Together with the other wounds inflicted by Sirius by bites but also his claws Remus tries to hit him again for biting on his arm but Sirius evades and that was enough for Remus to focus on Sirius instead of the group. They run away from the group on a trail that goes to Black Lake.

Harry screams "Sirius!" before following. Hermione tries to follow him but Snape grabbed her to prevent that while he screams "come back here Potter."

Harry hears Hermione scream "Harry!"

6th June 1993, the trail near the Whomping Willow, Hogwarts grounds

Harry stops right before the trail goes to the left and he would disappear out of sight from Snape, Hermione and Ron. He sees Remus and Sirius fighting. He sees Remus lift Sirius up before throwing him against a large rock. He sees Remus approaching Sirius who was still laying on the ground. Harry runs towards them and grabs a rock from the ground and throws it at Remus's head. Harry hit him without trouble because Harry is a talented Quidditch player, accomplished seeker, a more than decent beater and at least an average chaser.

Remus got hit before he could hurt Sirius more. Harry says "please, Professor. Stop... It's me. Harry Potter, Lily's son."

It barely works but Remus does slow down a bit but doesn't lower his arm to hit him. Remus keeps focused on Harry but before he could hit Harry, Remus and Harry hear a howl coming from the Forbidden Forest. Harry and Remus look to the Forbidden Forest. Remus stops his attack. Harry looks at Remus and he raises his hand again when the howl again is heard. Remus gives a small quick howl before moving to the howl in the Forbidden Forest.

Harry sees Remus runs out of view and looks at Sirius clearly whining as he is still in his Animagus dog from the Grimm. Harry sees Sirius in his dog form and limps away before he falls. Sirius has changed out of his dog form and still clearly hurts and tries to get away.

6th June 1993, waterfront Black Lake inside the Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts grounds

Harry tried to follow Sirius as good as he could. Sirius had entered the Forbidden Forest near the Black Lake. Harry knew from Hagrid that inside the Forbidden Forest was also a part of the lake. It wasn't very large but large enough that it was almost a lake on its own.

Harry sees Sirius and tumbles down to him. Sirius lies on the water's edge, now fully a man, arms and face gleaming with lacerations caused by Remus.

Harry asks "Sirius?" but he doesn't respond and Harry doesn't see him breathing when Harry turned Sirius over.

Harry looks at Sirius' face and he sees Sirius' eyes are open but he has a glassy look. Harry almost screams "Sirius" hoping to wake him up.

Harry suddenly sees his breath. If it was possible it became even darker even though it was already night under the full moon. Harry feels the cold closing in and he knew what was coming. If he wasn't sure before he was when the lake started to freeze from his side and the other side. From above the trees, they appear….. Dementors.

Sirius comes back to his sentence as his glassy look disappears. He looks up and starts to panic. The Dementors flew in a circle like a tornado when one Dementor came down from inside the Dementor tornado. The Dementors close in on Sirius and start to suck.

After the Dementor left Sirius Harry stands up and screamingly cast "Expecto Patronum!"

Harry managed to cast a shield as the next Dementor come down gets stopped by the shield but after one and the next one immediately followed. The second Dementor gets also stopped by the shield. Even though the second Dementor was stopped by the shield, the shield falls after the second Dementor.

The third Dementor closes in but not on Sirius no it starts to suck at Harry. Harry screams as his worst memory appear again as he falls to his knees. He hears his mother's voice 'not Harry! Please... have mercy... have mercy... Not Harry! Not Harry! Please ….. I'll do anything!'

Harry hears an ice voice saying 'move aside girl….. move aside.'

He hears his mother say without fear but obviously afraid 'no I will not. You have my husband I will not let you have my son too.'

Lily had Harry in her arms and put him down seconds before Lily dies. Harry hears the same scream he heard in the Hogwarts Express. Harry sees it in his mind. He hasn't heard the incantation but that wasn't needed he sees what he dreamed of in his youth the green colour. Harry comes back to the present and sees that the memory only took a second.

The tornado of Dementors went closer as they were now only two feet or three above Harry and Sirius. The Dementors attack Sirius and Harry feeding on them. There was nothing that could stop them. Even more, Dementors appear. It looked like all the Dementors at the border has closed in. Harry was attacked by three at the same time when a Dementor moved away from Sirius. The Dementors stopped attacking Harry and Harry sees a blue light coming from Sirius's mind before a little blue ball rises out of his mind.

Harry thinks 'no they are going to kill Sirius. I have to save him.'

Harry tries to grab his wand and gather his power but he could not. Harry looks and sees a bright light on the other side of the lake. It looks like a fiery stag, its body luminous... slashing through the trees... showing light in the darkness. The dementors were closing to get Sirius's soul.

Suddenly the Dementors are being pushed away, but more replace them, sweeping down in waves to get to Sirius' soul. Still, the stag charges on. The light expands bringing light to the forest and the lake around it. Harry looks at Sirius when another Dementor flies past them because of the light and sees the soul return to Sirius which makes him take a very deep breath before he keeps breathing. The remaining Dementors fade and flee, drifting across the moon-like ash when it looked like waves of light coming from the Stag.

When all the dementors are gone the stag's luminous body flickers before it disappears. The stag has disappeared with a bright flash and darkness returns. Only the wand tip with a thread of light all that remains. The light seems to have taken his saviour with them when it flickers and the light is gone. Harry manages to see by the light of the full moon a man with a strangely familiar build and silhouette before he hears Hermione scream "Harry" far away when he loses his consciousness.

6th June 1994, Hospital wing, Hogwarts

Harry feels someone is holding his hand but feels it is bandaged up, not his hand but the one that is holding his hand. He feels the other hand on his upper arm which is clearly the other hand from the one that holds him. Almost immediately he feels something and knows it is Hermione.

He heard her say gently almost with a small voice "Harry."

Harry immediately says "I saw my dad."

Hermione asks confused "what?"

Harry answers almost eagerly "He sent the Dementors away. I saw him. Across the lake."

Hermione finds it hard to believe Harry as he never lied to her before. Ron is whimpering in pain even though Madam Pomfrey said will be completely fine in a day or two maybe three although he may walk a bit slower and need to rest more for the coming weeks but must not rest too much. Also, his walk may be a bit funny or awkward but that will be gone after he has rested enough.

Hermione doesn't want to tell Harry it isn't possible she also has no idea how his dead father can save him and Sirius. Sirius made her think immediately about the important thing she wanted to say.

Hermione says "listen, Harry. They've captured Sirius. Any minute the Dementors are going to perform the Kiss."

Harry gets up and asks "you mean they are going to kill him?"

Hermione reluctantly took two steps away from Harry's personal bed so he can get up. Hermione says "no it is worse, much worse. They're going to suck out his soul."

The hospital wing door swings open revealing Professor Dumbledore. Hermione immediately walks to Professor Dumbledore and says "Headmaster, you've got to stop them. They've got the wrong man."

Harry immediately follows by saying "it's true Sir, Sirius is innocent."

Ron managed to say out even though he mostly whimpers "it's Scabbers who did it."

Dumbledore asks "Scabbers?"

Ron says "he is my rat, Sir. He is not really a rat, oh well he was a rat he was my brother Percy's rat but then they gave him …"

Hermione couldn't listen to him longer not as he was digressing and the whimpers were just sounded a bit pathetic if someone should have been depressed it should have been Harry but here he was just behind her.

Hermione interrupts Ron as she says "it's just we know the truth. Please believe us."

Hermione looks Dumbledore straight in the eye and Dumbledore's eyes start to twinkle. Dumbledore says "I do Miss Granger, but I am sorry to say that the word of three thirteen-year-old wizards will convince few others."

Dumbledore walks past them towards Ron. As Dumbledore walks passes Ron to stand on the other side so he could see all three says while walking "a child voice whoever honest and true."

Dumbledore put his hand on Ron's foot making it painful for Ron but Dumbledore continues "is meaningless to those who have forgotten how to listen."

Dumbledore looks at Hermione and Harry. He looks past them and sees the clock as the hospital wing in a corridor not far from the clocktower courtyard when the first chime from the clock's bell goes as it is midnight.

Dumbledore walks away from Ron and passed Harry and Hermione while he says "mysterious thing, time. Powerful and, when meddled with … dangerous. Sirius Black is in the topmost cell of the Dark Tower."

Dumbledore turns around and looks at Hermione when he says "you know the laws, Miss Granger. You must not be seen. And you would, I feel, do well to return before this last chime. If not the consequences are too ghastly to discuss. If you succeed tonight, more than one innocent life may be spared tonight. Three turns should do it, I think."

Dumbledore went to the door to close it but before he closes the door he says "by the way, when in doubt, I find retracing my steps to be a wise place to begin ...good luck."

Ron asks "what in bloody hell was all that about?"

Hermione doesn't reply and grabs something that is around her neck. She puts a long chain around Harry's neck as well as her own.

Hermione says "sorry, Ron. But seeing as you can't walk."

Hermione tries not to smile as secretly she was happy Ron couldn't come. Sirius was more important but being alone with Harry always made her happy….. well not alone with Harry but she was always happy if Ron was not around. She was happy with Harry even if Neville or Ginny was with them, many were okay but Ron among others are not.

Harry looks a Ron and sees that Hermione is right. He was okay being with Hermione as it was like that after the fight about the Firebolt their friendship was even better and he felt somehow closer to her.

Harry and Hermione turn away from Ron when she managed to get the chain around Harry's neck and her own. She starts to put the pendant right. When Harry wants to help she slaps his hand away. (A/N LOVE that part)

Hermione holds the pendant and turns the inside hourglass three times after the third time she makes sure that the hourglasses continue to turn so she and Harry go back in time. Hermione keeps her eyes on the pendant while Harry looks around and sees Dumbledore before Ron gets in his bed. Himself being laid in his bed but very fast in reverse and see others that were here earlier today but it was difficult to see who as it was very fast it was like a tape being reversed. Harry was almost sure he saw Susan and Ginny but not to visit him but for something else as they didn't stay long and it was before he ended up in the hospital wing again. He thought they got something a potion or something but he wasn't sure.

They were important to him almost as much as Hermione but at this time Sirius was more important.

When everything around them starts to slow down they were back in time. The hospital wing is empty except for Harry and Hermione. Hermione put grabs Harry's chain and put the necklace back below her sweater and shirt. Harry glances around in confusion.

Harry needs to know what just has happened and asks Hermione "what just happened? Where's Ron?"

Hermione ignores the question even though she wants to answer but they are going to be very busy and don't have time to explain it even though he would probably easily understand. Hermione didn't want the questions or his understanding that they need to save Sirius. Hermione thinks it is for Sirius but also for Harry. Hermione looks at the large clock at the end of the corridor.

Hermione turns around and asks "seven-thirty. Where were we at seven-thirty?

Harry looked at where Ron just has been. Harry answers when he looks at Hermione "I don't know going to Hagrid's?

Hermione grabs his wrist to drag him along while she says "come on! We can't be seen!"

As soon as they are past the door she let go of Harry as he was already beside her and was slowly getting past her. Hermione looks at Harry while she was having a hard time Harry looks like he wasn't breaking a sweat at all. She smiled in herself and thought it seems him running many times around the Quidditch pitch really did pay off not to mention the newly defined muscles on his chest, back, arms and legs even though she didn't see his legs but because of the running, she suspected they were also showing muscles.

She didn't know most of it came thanks to the brutal training with letting him get hit with Bludgers so he could try to keep in the air if he didn't get the Firebolt on time as the shooting star couldn't evade them. Harry was happy Hermione didn't know as she would be passed furiously she would probably be livid or even enraged.

When they reach they are almost at the large clock Harry asks "Hermione?" wanting to know what has just happened. He knew it was like going back in time but that can't happen, right? Hermione doesn't respond partly as she is having a hard time keeping up with Harry even though he could even go faster without too many difficulties. Hermione was painting to keep up but also like in the hospital wing they didn't have time for this she promised herself she would tell Harry later as they still have school to end in June.

Let's end here for now. I can almost certainly promise that in chapter 40/41 we will reach the fourth year. In the next chapter, we go back a bit to see what happens outside of Hogwarts and also what Dumbledore is planning (maybe something's I forgot). In chapter 39 we will have what happens after this when they are back in time and try to reach the summer it could be a large chapter may be all a part of chapter 38. If chapter 39 will be too long chapter 40 will contain the until the summer and most of the summer until he goes to the Weasley's.

I made a small mistake in chapter 36 regarding time so I fixed that by making a small change.

But again next chapter we go outside of Hogwarts and Dumbledore will show his real colours, but only to himself (and Snape).

A/N #1: Remus means when James was around the same age as Harry. Harry was quickly improving more than James did and Remus just knew that Harry was also getting stronger and stronger probably faster than James so in time he would get stronger than James probably also when he reaches his majority. People's magic(al core) gets stronger and magic core bigger until a certain age, but James and Lily had reached it

James already loved Lily from the first year so in the third year, he was already 'protecting' Lily even if she didn't want to and don't always know it. It was mostly to prevent other students from calling her a mudblood and some Slytherin tried to attack her in her back which James (with Remus and most of the time Sirius) prevented. On Marauders honour no one was allowed to tell Lily besides James or when James allowed it but he never did.
