It is my first Harry Potter story. Will be Harry/Multi (Harem) and probably Neville/Multi. It will start at the beginning of the third year. Slow build-up. A smarter Harry and more friends. Earlier real friends with Neville and Ginny. Can be long between updates. Bashing RW/AD/?. We have reached the fourth year how will the earlier changes change the tournament and relationships?

Chapter 39 Buckbeak save the night, Patronus, the aftermath of Sirius appearance, Lupin's life

There is a large canon part. I will announce it below. The canon part or mostly canon but there will be some differences so I advise you to read it.

**Canon**

6th June 1994, Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts grounds

This time, Harry doesn't stop her and Professor Lupin as Werewolf runs towards them. He says "Thanks 'Mione… Great, now he is coming for us. We have to move."

Hermione didn't hear as she only hears the shorting of her name that makes her blush madly. She asks blushingly "why?"

Harry says "because that werewolf you just called is running right this way."

Hermione sees Lupin running towards them while she says "yeah didn't think about that" she grabs Harry's left arm to drag him further into the forest.

They look at each other and say to each other at the same time "RUN" while they were already running into the forest.

Harry and Hermione run further into the Forbidden forest as they were at the tree line when Hermione lured Professor Lupin by calling him as she was able to sound like a Werewolf as Werewolves will always answer the calls from other Werewolves by going to that other Werewolf. The Werewolf will try to find the other Werewolf, no matter what.

During the running, Hermione had let go of Harry's wrist. They were running further and further into the Forbidden forest when they heard Professor Lupin in his werewolf form closing in. Harry follows Hermione. When Hermione runs over a small hill Hermione hears Harry fall behind her. She immediately helps him up and they continue running. This time she was holding his hand and didn't let go.

They encountered a huge tree and hide behind it. Harry and Hermione see Lupin searching and was approaching them. Hermione silently pulls Harry with her to move around the tree to the other side where she saw Lupin. Hermione pulls Harry against her while they move to make sure Lupin doesn't see them. She puts her other hand on Harry's upper arm for the side she holds the hand. Hermione almost wants to glue herself to Harry, but Hermione knew she couldn't as it would impede both of their movement.

She does feel much safer with Harry beside her especially as he is right beside her but also he kept holding her hand even if Harry does it subconsciously. They are just on the other side of the large tree when Lupin howls probably hoping the other werewolf response, but also clearly smelling the air hoping to find the other werewolf's scent.

Just when they back away from the tree thinking they lost him thinking Professor Lupin went further into the forest. They hear twigs break and a growl clearing coming from a werewolf behind them.

Harry immediately grabs Hermione. When the werewolf growls Harry grabs Hermione tighter and buries her face in his shirt so he can turn them around so Hermione will be saved when Lupin attacks. Harry is ready to do anything that would keep Hermione safe. He was ready to be bitten by Lupin if it was necessary. Harry knew right that moment he would do everything to keep Hermione safe even if it cost him his own life.

Right, when Lupin would attack them out of nowhere Buckbeak appears and he shields Harry and Hermione. Buckbeak with his wings open and just like when he hit Malfoy rises on his hind legs before slashing Lupin across his face. Buckbeak hits Lupin's head which makes Lupin retreat for a few feet. Lupin's angry growls at Buckbeak. Lupin tries again and this time Buckbeak slashes his left arm. When Lupin approach again and Buckbeak again opens his wings ready to slash him again. The moment Buckbeak raise his front legs and slams them on the ground ready to charge expanding his wings more if that was even possible made Lupin flee further into the forbidden forest while hearing him whine angrily.

All the while Hermione was grabbing Harry's shirt and burying her face into it. When Lupin had run away and Buckbeak looks at them Hermione says "that was so scary."

Harry was still holding her when he says "Poor Professor Lupin is having a really tough night."

Buckbeak slowly walks toward them pushing his beak slightly with almost no power to get Harry to pet him what Harry does while he with his other hand still holds Hermione. Hermione let go of Harry's shirt unwillingly but grabs the arm that was around her.

They stand for a few minutes with Hermione almost hanging on his arm like a girlfriend and clingy like Parkinson at the start of the year with Malfoy in the Hogwarts express while Harry pets Buckbeak. Harry doesn't mind Hermione holding on to him as it was also scary for him.

Suddenly they feel a chilly wind rises that they both know very well as they felt it a couple of times this year and the last time was barely a few hours before. Harry stops petting Buckbeak and Harry and Hermione look to the sky. Buckbeak follows their looks and shrieks against the countless dementors even though the Dementors don't notice them as they went to the part of the Black lake inside the Forbidden Forest where he and Sirius were almost killed. Harry was thinking about Sirius while Hermione was thinking about Harry thinking about Sirius that she didn't notice her bracelet warm-up and glowing slightly which was almost invisible because of the slightly dark green colour from the emeralds in her bracelet and the dark of the night which was even darker than normal because of the Dementors that were flying many feet above them and there are many.

Harry says "Sirius. Come on."

They run towards the part of the Black Lake in the Forbidden Forest hand in hand. Almost when they reach it Hermione lets go of Harry's hand.

6th June 1993, waterfront Black Lake inside the Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts grounds (A/N #1)

Just when they are on the other side of the small lake they hear Harry's scream when the shield of Harry's Patronus breaks. A tornado of dementors whirls madly above Harry and Sirius. Harry remembers it from before and can understand what his former self sees and thought. As his shield had already broken he see what is happening to his former self. Harry sees himself trying to cast the Patronus again, but it was of no use. I didn't work.

Hermione sees it happening and can almost feel the pain Harry went through as the Dementors keep attacking him and Sirius. Hermione knows that when everything is right after saving Sirius she needs to talk to him about this as she wants to make sure Harry is okay even though he is here right now but he probably wanted to save Buckbeak and Sirius so much he didn't think about himself or he doesn't care about himself but she does more then she could ever express and for now admit. She has a look of terror, fear and unshed tears in her eyes. Even with the unshed tears for the pain, Harry is feeling and his hope crushed as Pettigrew escaped she sees everything clearly no blurry vision by her unshed tears as she knew Harry may need her.

Hermione hears a muffled scream from former Harry across the lake again before she says "this is horrible."

Harry immediately responds "don't worry, my dad will come. He will conjure the Patronus … he will cast the Patronus."

Another Dementor came from the right flow low over the frozen lake approaching former Harry and Sirius while the tornado of Dementors slowly descends. The approaching dementor attacks them before flying up through the middle of the tornado of Dementors. Every second the Dementors came closer to Harry and Sirius clearly unable to fight them. Hermione was shocked by the scene of this onslaught of Dementors and despair even though she barely felt it. She was shocked by what was happening she still hasn't noticed her bracelet glowing and spreading warmth through her by heating up.

Harry says "any minute now."

Harry point at stone a few feet above the frozen lake while he continues "right there, you'll see."

Hermione wants to believe Harry more than anything else but says while shaking her head feeling very sorry for Harry "Harry, listen to me. No one is coming."

Harry with a voice full of dedication says "don't worry he will. He will come"

Three other Dementors were already attacking mostly Harry. The other Dementor attacking Sirius is taking a long time before flying to the side. The tornado of Dementors was closing in. Harry and Hermione saw many Dementors closing in. It looked like the Dementors have doubled from the first moment they came here. Harry was focused on the spot his dad should appear.

Hermione, on the other hand, hoped that Harry was right but knew he couldn't. She also thought that probably all the Dementors from the Hogwarts border were descending on Harry and Sirius. She was wondering why they didn't approach them but was also happy they didn't.

Hermione felt the cold because of the increased amount of Dementors that even her bracelet couldn't keep the cold away.

Hermione says while looking desperately at the former Harry and Sirius while also looking pleading at Harry. Pleading that they needed to do something but also pleading that when his father doesn't appear he wouldn't be too broken to do something.

They hear Sirius groan of pain and former Harry was saying, Sirius.

Hermione knew she needs to say it and says "you are dying …. both of you.

Harry sees that while he first thought the dementors stop approaching it only looked like that in his weakened state. Harry and Hermione see a small blue light above Sirius's face. Harry knew what was happening they were about to get Sirius's soul.

Harry's face changes and a riddle unravels as he feels the pull of magic and without thinking while he knew what he was doing he draws his wand. Harry runs forward to the spot where his father should have appeared.

Hermione shouts "Harry" to stop him, they cannot be seen.

It was too late. Harry runs to the spot and when he is on the spot his father should have appeared he raises his wand and sees the Dementor on the other side of the lake very close to killing Sirius and attacking him again.

Harry screams the incantation "EXPECTO PATRONUM."

Harry feels his magic suddenly flow as it broke through something. A small wisp-like his first few tries when he trained with Professor Lupin appears before suddenly it intensifies, you can say the tip suddenly glows magnificently. Wave after wave comes out of Harry's wand.

Suddenly one large wave goes behind Harry. The large wave closes in on Hermione and while she looks in awe at Harry she doesn't notice that a very large wisp of silver that is almost the whole wave enters her bracelet through the emerald stones, but she doesn't notice. Her bracelet lights up as does Ginny's bracelet and the bracelet in Harry's trunk. Ginny sleeps so she doesn't see it. Hermione would have noticed but when the wave touches her she felt a wonderful, delightful spark and a shiver went through her. She has her eyes focused on Harry and what is happening because of Harry's spell. When the wave was gone the shiver remains. She needs to bite her lip or should have let out a large moan while she keeps her attention on the wave after wave going out of Harry's wand.

The waves continue one after another. Hermione notices a group of Dementors try to attack the waves as they did to former Harry with his shield. However, the waves keep coming out of Harry's wand and none of the waves breaks not even when a group of Dementors attack one wave. The wave didn't even stop and easily resisted the Dementors. They get pushed back and flee.

The former Harry sees a couple of Dementors approach him but they flew past him as they were forced back by the present Harry's Patronus charm and couldn't suck at him or feed on Sirius' soul.

Harry and Hermione see the small blue ball descend back into Sirius as all the Dementors are gone and the last large wave had passed former Harry before Sirius's soul began to descend. Harry sees just like Hermione that the last wave comes back to Harry's wand as Harry slowly cancels the charm to his magic decrease again and made the magic return to his wand. Harry and Hermione see the bright luminous stag form from the Patronus for a few seconds before the large light starts to decrease even more.

During the last wave was returning to his wand the former Harry has lost his consciousness and Harry remembers what he had seen. Harry and Hermione hear the former Hermione scream Harry. Harry lowers his wand before he simply lets his arm drop.

Hermione sees someone approaching former Harry on the other side of the lack. She grabs her Harry and drags him out of sight. The moment she grabs Harry's arm she needs to bite her lip again or she would have let out another large moan that would sound extra hard on the quiet waterfront and in the forest as she feels another delightful shiver and spark run through her. She also feels his magic connection with her that feels even better than the delightful shiver and spark times a hundred.

She pulled them both behind the closest large tree. She looks around the tree she sees it is Professor Snape. Her former self was ordered to take Ronald to the Hospital wing after she shouted at Harry. She sees Snape was considering hexing both Sirius and Harry as they are unconscious but obviously didn't do it as he bounds Sirius and levitates Harry while dragging Sirius along on the ground.

When they are gone she leans back and takes a deep breath. She suddenly feels embarrassed as she feels she is wet and not just a little. She has soaked her panties and hopes it isn't showing. She knew why she was wet but hopes Harry doesn't notice as he talks to her, not that she soaked her panties or her red face as she has a red face full of embarrassment. She tried to hide her embarrassment but not her face as Harry knew something was up is she tried to hide her face and don't look at him.

After almost two minutes Hermione says "we need to find Buckbeak. He can fly us to the tower, that is why we need Buckbeak. That is also why saving him was a good idea."

Harry says "Hermione we would have saved Buckbeak anyway."

Harry gave a large smile and Hermione want to scold him for the smile as it made her knees weak and would make her wetter if that was possible, but she knew he was right especially as Buckbeak was innocent.

The magic from Harry has awakened something in Hermione and she felt like a connection with Harry. She thought 'what do I feel now? …. Now is not the time to think about it. We need to save Sirius first.'

Hermione says "come on we need to find Buckbeak."

"That is not needed, Hermione. He is there."

Hermione looks where Harry pointed and sees Buckbeak standing like he was waiting on them. Harry walks to Buckbeak without bowing. She wants to pull him back but he is already out of her reach. He pets Buckbeak who in return gave small happy shrieks. Harry asks "Buckbeak we need your help. Will you help us?"

Buckbeak faces Harry and looks at him. He tilts his head before giving a shriek that almost sounds like he accepts and understands why. Harry walks to Hermione with Buckbeak immediately on his tail. Buckbeak lies down so Harry can easily climb on top and like a gentleman he holds his hand out to Hermione. Hermione doesn't like flying, however, having Harry will help a bit. A bit reluctantly she accepts Harry's hand and climbs up behind him.

Harry says "hold on to me Hermione. If you want."

6th June 1994, the air above Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest

Hermione didn't wait for a second to put her arms around Harry when Buckbeak starts to run and spread his wings that slowly begin to flap. They flew high up and while Hermione didn't like this she felt Harry's happiness.

They flew low on the lake before flying up high. Hermione looks up at Harry to not look down and with the moon shining the light on them, especially on Harry, she realizes something she should have seen much earlier. They are best friends, but for her, it was so much more ….. she loves him, much more than best friends. Harry is the love of her life. She knows it is early to say that but she just knows he is, something inside her told her that he is the love of her life. Even without the feeling, she knows she loves him with her whole heart.

She is partially hurt as her best girlfriend and her very first real girlfriend also love Harry not to mention that a good friend, Katie, has also shown she likes Harry very much if not love him and girls like Susan and even a Slytherin like Daphne seem to like Harry if not more. She becomes very sad because of her insecurities and she thinks that all the girls are better looking than her, better than her in any way unless maybe her intelligence, her ability to learn, her knowledge as that is the only thing she has some confidence in but Daphne is very close with much better looks than her she thinks.

She hopes that her mother may help her to get Harry's attention even though he already has shown he knows she is a girl and before the year even starred at her while looking at her breasts which made her at least a bit happy and a little bit more confidence in her breasts at least although she knows Daphne is bigger and Susan has the largest breast in her year and almost larger than all the fourth and even half of the fifth years if not more. Daphne may not love him but Susan certainly showed she is at least very, very, very interested.

Ginny has a more athletic body probably having six brothers she wanted to play with and playing Quidditch when she was younger when she stole a broom what means Harry and Ginny have playing Quidditch in common is what he also has with Katie. Katie has slightly smaller breasts but has also an athletic body and not bushy hair or beaver teeth like her. She knows the Quidditch rules but she would never play it as she didn't like flying except when it is an aeroplane and not a broom not even mentioning the things they did on a broom and that is not even worth mentioning to the things Harry has done of his broom.

Before Hermione becomes more depressed and starts to sob that Harry would never love her as she does.

She is shaking out of her mind before she starts to sob when she hears Harry say "You were right, Hermione. It wasn't my dad I saw earlier. It was me. I saw myself conjuring the Patronus before. I knew I could do it this time, because... because I'd already done it. Does that make sense?"

Hermione contemplates this which makes her immediately forget about all her insecurities and her sadness. She feels something of happiness from somewhere before she feels her own happiness that Harry wasn't crestfallen by not seeing his father he would be broken, but what Harry said didn't make sense even less than first when he believed his father conjured the Patronus.

Hermione screams "no, but I don't like flyinaaaaaaahhhhh!"

Buckbeak dives to get to the tower where Sirius is captured. Hermione really didn't like this and pushes herself hard against Harry's back. She is too preoccupied with fear to question herself if Harry could feel her erect nipples from the arousal she has felt not that long before.

Harry shouts "WHOOAAAAAHHHHH" in excitement.

6th June 1994, top of the Dark Tower, Hogwarts

Buckbeak lands and after a few steps on the tower, he stops. Hermione gets off first almost immediately followed by Harry. Harry pets Buckbeak who asks for it by pushing his head against his shoulder. Harry pets Buckbeak while he and Hermione walk to the small cell where Sirius is sitting.

Sirius sits in the small cell as a condemned man. The wounds were taken care of but not like Madam Pomfrey would do probably poorly done by Snape. Sirius stares at the ground as he feels that he had failed again not only to prove his innocence but also to Harry. He should have taken care of Harry and now Harry was even hurt according to Snape.

Sirius looks up when he hears the Buckbeak land. He is stunned to see Harry and Hermione with a hippogriff. He had seen that hippogriff before when he was in Animagus form and it looks like the Hippogriff knows that maybe by smell or something. Sirius would doubt himself if they were really here if he didn't see Harry's eyes and the fire in his eyes, but also the look from Hermione. Hermione looks at him but he sees that she glances at Harry almost every few seconds. He had seen it before during the year but also in the Shrieking Shack and the Whomping Willow.

Sirius does not have enough power after being attacked by the Dementors to regain his Animagus form, ability to smell Harry's scent or the particular smell coming from Hermione. Wizards and witches that have an Animagus form can get some things from their Animagus form like speed (even on two legs) or the ability to smell as well as the Animagus form with their own nose in Sirius's case.

Harry walks one step in front of Hermione with Buckbeak behind him beside Hermione. Hermione pushes past Harry. Harry wants to ask why but he hears Hermione says "out of the way" even though she was already completely past him.

Hermione raises her wand and cast "Alohomora."

Sirius tries the door but as expected the iron cell door is still locked.

Hermione takes a small deep breath before she says "didn't really expect that to work."

Hermione immediately starts to use other spells. She keeps casting spell after spell. Her wand flashes with spell after spell.

Hermione casts "Dunamis! Liberare! Annihilare! Emancipare!"

Hermione stops and says mostly to herself ´no, no, no, no."

Sirius says "you might try…."

Hermione interrupts Sirius as he snaps at him. She says "quiet! I'm trying to think."

Sirius looks at Hermione and for a minute thinks he is in the past. He remembers a time when Lily had the same reaction when she tried to open a thick iron door when they were on an operation for the Order of the Phoenix, one of the last for Lily as she started to show that she was pregnant with Harry. Anyway, when he wanted to suggest something that may help Lily said the exact same thing except she added his name after wanting him quiet.

Hermione is thinking about what could help. She starts to pace a bit. When she has turned twice Harry put his hand on her shoulder. She looks at Harry and he smiles. His smile makes her arousal return in full force as it had abdicated a bit, but now it was increasing again. Hermione looks into Harry's dreamy green eyes and that makes her arousal increase even more but also when she looks in the eyes she got an idea. Harry didn't talk much about the training with Lupin but he did tell some spells or charms he learned or was learning and she just knew the spell that would work.

Hermione turns on her feet and points her wand at the iron cell door again. Hermione cast/ shouts "BOMBARDA".

The iron cell door blasted open. Hermione's spell blasted the door open but also kind of destroyed the iron cell door. The door was still in one piece but it could never close the cell again in its current state and shape.

Sirius says "that'll do too".

Sirius is barely suppressing the large smile as Lily did the exact same thing and if Hermione had red hair and some small facial changes she would have been Lily. He had seen her eyes when right before she cast the spell. She had the same fire in her eyes as Lily did, not to mention, that Harry was the only one that could get her attention just like James was with Lily. Lily would have been proud he choose the smartest witch of their generation. James would be happy but would ask if there wasn't a red-haired girl he likes as that were the two traits all the Potters were attracted to and Sirius knows there is that girl Ginny if he remembered correctly who knew Harry and are good friends what can change to something more if Hermione accepts at least.

Sirius was quickly shaking from his thoughts as now is not the time for this. Buckbeak is approaching them while he made a shriek what almost looks like he said that they need to leave immediately or at least they need to hurry and climb on his back as he bends down on his legs so they could easily mount him.

Buckbeak starts running as he spread his wings and with a few flaps of his wings they were flying. Buckbeak flies up disappearing in the black sky. Sirius was in the front with Harry his arms around Sirius behind him and at the back was Hermione with her arms tightly around Harry almost crushing him.

Harry looks behind him and sees that Hermione had her eyes tightly closed. Harry manages to see behind Hermione on the tower someone with a torch coming up. He focuses his eyes and sees that they are Snape and Fudge. While Sirius guides Buckbeak down to the Clock courtyard that isn't visible from the Dark Tower an angry scream pierces the night.

The scream sounds like Snape screaming "DAMN YOU BLACK."

Sirius needs to laugh when he heard it as thanks to Prongeslet and his 'girlfriend', first of many he was sure, Snape was again outsmarted by the Marauders. Sirius managed to keep his laugh without too much sound so only Harry and Hermione could hear him with his hair blowing in the wind.

Right before they land Sirius says "you truly are your father's son, Harry!"

6th June 1994, Clocktower Courtyard, Hogwarts

They land and Buckbeak bends his legs so everyone can get off. However, Hermione still had her eyes closed and holding on to Harry she immediately opened her eyes when she fell Harry pulls away. Hermione for a moment sits shocked on Buckbeak. Harry holds out his hand she gladly takes it. Harry pulls her up while Hermione was standing so she almost fell but Harry immediately put his other arm on her waist preventing her from falling. Hermione blushes but as they are outside of the moon's light neither Sirius nor Harry notices.

Buckbeak notices nobody is on him and walks to the small fountain in the Clocktower Courtyard to drink some water.

Sirius wasn't to forcefully grab Hermione to guide her around the corner but remembers how Harry remembered how he threatened the rat and he felt Harry's magic. Sirius knows Harry trusts him but didn't want to risk it he gently pushes her forward but makes sure not to push her too hard to make her stumble while Harry was barely a foot behind him.

When Sirius, Hermione and Harry went around the corner so that they could not be seen Sirius says "I'll be forever grateful for this. To both of you."

Harry immediately says "I want to go with you."

Sirius Black feels happy that Harry wants to go with him. He loves Harry as the child he never had. He also wants Harry to go with him, but Harry wouldn't be safe and even though Sirius doesn't trust Dumbledore Harry's parents wanted Harry to go to Hogwarts even though in the last months of their life they started to also distrust Dumbledore.

Sirius says "one day perhaps. For some time life will be too... unpredictable."

Sirius says will clap his shoulder and looks into Harry's eyes "besides, you're meant to be here."

Sirius almost wants to tease Harry about Hermione being his girlfriend but could barely control himself. Sirius just knew that someday he would be able to do all the teases he would like but for now, he needs to go as he's fleeing the country would help the students and most witches and wizards (that couldn't cast a Patronus) as the Dementors will return to Azkaban.

Harry says "but your innocent."

Sirius gently pushes Harry done to sit on the closet bench. Sirius still has his hands on Harry's shoulder when he says "and you know it. For now, that is enough."

Hermione decided to go around the corner and go to Buckbeak who was waiting when Buckbeak almost ran up to her she quietly says "don't Buckbeak".

She wants to stay at Harry's side but this is very private between Harry and Sirius. She thinks that this is not for her and Harry is a private person as he doesn't talk much about his home life although she knows that his muggle relatives don't really like him or maybe it was magic they don't like, but Harry never told her much more she only knew this much because she could hear him when she was petrified.

Sirius takes Harry's head into his hands and says "I think you're tired of hearing this…. but you are so like your father."

Sirius slides rubs one finger at the side of Harry's face while holding his face when he says "except you eyes…. You have…"

Harry interrupts Sirius to continue his sentence "your mother's eyes."

Sirius removes his hands when he says "it's so cruel that I could spend some much time with James and Lily and you so little. But knows this the ones we love really never leave us and you can always find…."

Sirius puts his hand on Harry's heart as he says "in here."

Sirius keeps his hand on Harry's heart when he says "but promise me something, Harry."

Harry smiled and says "anything."

Sirius smiles back and says "trust yourself. No matter the challenges you face … and I fear they will be many… you'll be surprised how many times you can find the answers..."

Sirius taps Harry's heart and says "here besides the love."

Hermione has been reassuring Buckbeak to make sure Buckbeak doesn't make too much sound. The chance is big that Snape was searching for Sirius.

Sirius climbs atop Buckbeak and smiles at Hermione and says "you really are the brightest witch of your age."

Hermione gave a large smile but Sirius saw that it was nowhere like the smile she had when she was with Harry or talks about Harry. Sirius wants to give the biggest smile to know Harry has found the love of his life even if he doesn't know it yet. Sirius hopes that when the time comes Hermione would be able to come to terms with it that she isn't his only wife, but will be Lady Potter even if it is one of the few Ladies Potter as even Lily the strong-willed witch he had ever known got convinced by James that he will always love her even if he had other wives after Dorea and Charlus as he was the last of the line at that moment.

Sirius gets out of his memory when he sees Harry's large smile when he looks at Hermione. Sirius manages to not laugh out loud. Sirius sees that it is not the loving smile Hermione shot him many times and certainly not the smile James had when he was looked at Lily, thought about her, talked about her and especially when he talked with her but it was close.

Sirius remembers what James and Lily wanted to learn from him before going to Hogwarts. Andi should know as it was in a letter to the guardian for Harry that only would be given by Bonecrusher to Harry's guardian. He wonders and asks a question.

"Harry I have one question. After I escaped magic called me to Surrey. I smelled you but I am wondering why were you in Surrey?"

Harry says "because that is where I live with mom's sister aunt Petunia, uncle Vernon and cousin Dudley, the Dursleys.

Sirius asks "you are with THEM but why?"

Harry says "they are my guardian Dumbledore says so. I didn't even know I was a wizard until my eleventh birthday when Hagrid came and gave me the letter as uncle Vernon burned all my the letters delivered by owls."

Sirius wants to curse Dumbledore for doing that. Dumbledore knows they were not his guardian. Sirius wondered why Dumbledore said they were but that was the same way as why he wasn't released even if it took a few days, but now he needed to escape after twelve years. Sirius was wondering about Dumbledore and had lost a lot of trust during the first war and had little trust left when James and Lily were killed. His trusts fall even further when he wasn't released and after two months the trust fell even further if possible but now his trust in Dumbledore was completely gone.

Sirius thought 'I need to try and hope Andi still trusts me. She can take Harry away from Petunia and her husband Vermin like I, James and Remus called him even Lily did sometimes. Anyway, she can until I can clear my name. Andi loves Harry as her own son so there should be no problem, but first I need to disappear.'

Sirius says "Harry I need to go and always think about the Marauder's motto. As the map knows where everybody is I will always be with you. I need to go right now and disappear before I find a way to clear my name without the rat."

Sirius sees Harry's face and says immediately "no worry Harry. I won't take the same risk against getting the rat. There will be other ways to get prove my innocence. I care for you Harry so I won't make the same mistake again. I was filled with rage before but after twelve years and seeing you again and I missed twelve years of your life I will not want to miss you anymore. As soon as I can get my trial without the kiss on sight order I will and then I will come and get you immediately after I am declared innocent. Don't forget I am always in your heart as are your parents."

Sirius pet Buckbeak on his head and beak before he gives a small slap. Buckbeak almost hit the roof of the corridor on the other side of the clock tower courtyard. Sirius flies towards the full moon before heading south. Harry and Hermione see him disappear in the dark night when they hear the first chime of the clock as it is twelve a clock.

Hermione who was barely a foot behind Harry grabs his arm before sliding it down to his wrist and hands while she says "we have to go."

Harry and Hermione dash off. They run up the tower stairway immediately on the left side after they enter the castle from the clock tower courtyard. They run past the mechanism quickly to the end of the corridor.

They see Dumbledore back out telling the former them "by the way, when in doubt, I find retracing my steps to be a wise place to begin ...good luck."

A/N #2

Dumbledore closes the door and uses a spell to lock it. Harry and Hermione reach him. Dumbledore stops at the top of a stairwell and asks "well?"

Harry says with a big smile "he's free - Sirius. We... we did it."

Dumbledore had just talked to the former Harry and Hermione. Now was the time to use Buckbeak's execution to his use. He was on the top of the stairs when Harry and Hermione came running. Dumbledore asks "well?"

Dumbledore has his famous twinkle in his eyes he looks at Harry he sees Sirius has escaped but can't find out more. He knows Sirius has escaped and gets no new information from Harry by Harry's emotional state on the inside but not showing it on the outside.

Dumbledore keeps his famous twinkle in his eyes but when he looks at Hermione. He can't read her mind something is different than before when he did it. He was harder this year but she was still an open book but now he can't read her mind when he tries to subtly use Legilimency.

Dumbledore doesn't know how that is possible. He had removed all the books regarding Legilimency and Occlumency, especially those that learn Occlumency and Legilimency and also make sure every book that the mudblood ordered didn't have something regarding Occlumency. Dumbledore doesn't have to worry about Legimilimens as he is a very accomplished Occlumens manly thanks to his old friend Gellert Grindelwald.

Dumbledore tries to push a bit harder to get into Hermione's mind. He knew her mind as ordered as it holds a great deal of information about this night with hopefully what he wanted to happen. Maybe something he can exploit to get her to not love Harry. When he pushes he starts to enter her mind when suddenly he is thrown out. He needs to take one step back. Dumbledore decides to try it again and hopes that she doesn't know what the pressure would be on her mind subtly doesn't seem to work.

He looks again. This is almost the strongest he could do without using his wand and with Harry here he needs to trust him he cannot use his wand. He enters her mind again but before he can see even one memory about the night he sees a large light in the form of a stag that forcefully pushes Dumbledore out again. He needs to take several steps back almost getting pushed into the wall but manages to stop barely a few inches from the wall.

He unlocked the door from the Hospital Wing and swing them open for Harry and Hermione and then closed it again. Dumbledore locks the door again giving them a watertight alibi as muggles would say.

He was out of earshot from the Hospital Wing with no one close by. He got a very mad look on his face. He thought 'why can't I look through the mudbloods memories. Was Harry the reason? Do I need to control his power again or maybe another bind? Was it even Harry? I don't know if the halfbreed bit her as I couldn't see in her mind thanks through that bright light that looks a bit like a stag that should point at Harry but I know Harry didn't learn Legilimency as he never saw it in his mind this year also I know the halfbreed Lupin didn't learn that to Harry. Most of what Harry learned are combat spells that Legilimency is not also the halfbreed always asked him to allow the spells.'

'It doesn't look like the halfbreed didn't do what he needed to do as I couldn't see any blood especially not at the neck where most werewolves bite to infect others with their disease and make them nothing more than filthy halfbreeds. Was it Harry that prevented it but became on himself no he also didn't show any blood? Maybe I can ask Madam Pomfrey if they had any injuries. Some help may be needed Afterall. Ronald and Molly are the prime candidates all they need is an incentive and maybe a little persuasion, after all, I can be very persuasive' while letting his wand go through his fingers without dropping it.

7th June 1994, Hospital Wing, Hogwarts

When Harry and Hermione turn around they just see themselves disappear. Ron looks shocked until he notices Harry and Hermione at the closed door.

Ron points at them and asks "how'd you two get over there?"

Ron points to the place where their former selves had just disappeared and says "I was just talking to you... over there."

Ron glances to the other side of the room and looks like he will go mental. Hermione glances mischievously at Harry.

Hermione turns completely to Harry and asks "What is he is talking about Harry?"

Harry says barely able to hold his laugh " I don't know. Honestly Ron how can somebody be at two places at once."

Hermione tries not to laugh but can't control herself and laughs before it turns into a giggle only Harry hears. Harry thinks 'Hermione that giggles? Why do I find it one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard in the world?"

Ron falls quickly asleep after he had calmed down and Hermione whispers that even if Ron was awake he wouldn't hear it "what d'you think, Harry? Too much for him…. everything that's happened tonight?"

Harry grin and says "afraid so. Always been a bit of the nervous type, Ron has."

Hermione and Harry lie on a bed hoping Madam Pomfrey hasn't heard them although Hermione doesn't mind as she knows Madam Pomfrey knows.

7th June 1994, DMLE, MoM, London

It was early in the morning and Arthur was having a hard time as he was up the whole night. In his youth, it was no problem but he wasn't the youngest anymore although he isn't old for a wizard as they have a longer lifespan than muggles he was tired of the many attacks from Werewolves. He needed to move out a lot as many squads got hurt by the Werewolves. As they needed to reform after the attacks the number of squads diminished over the night as squads were combined to replace the injured members. Fortunately, all the injuries were by the claws and the power of Werewolves none of the injured members of the DMLE was bitten. Unfortunately, they were still muggles, wizards and witches bitten.

There were signs that Greyback was active last night as he was always near targets especially children although he mostly wants to bite wizard children while he would also attack teenage witches he wouldn't mind if the children were muggles. It seems Amelia anticipated that and made a large group of Healers experienced with lycanthropy and tried to stop the infection although it was impossible if they were bit during the full moon divided over the large groups who were ordered to go after every sign of Greyback or own of his lieutenants that believes his view and life goal to infect as many people as possible to make an army and take over the wizarding community starting with wizarding Britain. Besides the Healers there were also Aurors and Members of the Werewolf Capture Unit from the Ministry's Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures in the large groups.

They managed to catch two of his lieutenants of Greyback but they were still resting from the transformation as the full moon went just down a few minutes ago. The other lieutenants from Greyback and Greyback weren't captured but they knew he had attacked some last night like his lieutenants that weren't captured. There were some others but they probably didn't know about the full moon and like almost all didn't have the money to buy the potions, the ingredients or they didn't know to brew the potion as it is a very difficult potion to brew.

Arthur was falling asleep when he heard his office door open. He wakes up by someone shaking his shoulder and when he opens his eyes he sees Amelia.

Amelia says "you can go home Arthur you got today, tomorrow and Wednesday off. I don't want to see you before Thursday. I will talk with Perkins to make sure there is no problem."

Amelia walks away but before she leaves his office she says "oh yes good news all your Aurors are accounted for and none have a large injury as none of the floocalls was about Werewolves related as they did normal calls. Let me call someone that can help you home as you look very tired."

Arthur wants to say that isn't needed but he was afraid if he apparated he would probably splinch himself and after having it once in his youth he never want to experience that again. He could use the floo but he preferred to apparate.

Kingsley walks in he doesn't look very tired or at least nowhere as much as Arthur.

Kingsley says "Director Weasley Director Bones asked me to make sure you get home okay. I can guide you to the floo in Atrium as Director Bones has a couple of appointments that are important you can't use her floo and you don't have a floo connection in your office."

Arthur nods but before he stood up he says "Senior Auror Shacklebolt I want to thank you for your help last night if it wasn't for you I could have been hurt, bitten or worse and Molly would have been furious if I got hurt. You can call me Arthur you are the first one to call me Director Weasley and it sounds weird."

Kingsley says "okay Arthur and you can call me Kingsley as I am not here for Auror business, but I also liked working with you not only last night but also before."

Arthur smiles and stood up while saying "the pleasure was mine."

Barely 10 minutes later Kingsley watches him go home after he used his Auror title to not let Arthur wait for a line of night workers going home. He is known in the ministry so nobody stood in his way. He needs to debrief Amelia as he is one of the appointments before he could return home. The Junior Aurors were already sent home and Moody was given training to his (former) protégé Nymphadora Tonks and agreed to have Hestia Jones train with them for once as Master Auror he is allowed to have three proteges but he only had when he sees potential he only had three in the last war against Voldemort (James, Sirius and Frank) after the war he never had more than one until now it seems.

Last night Moody said that Nymphadora was trying to let him agree to also take Hestia under his wing even though they were already Junior Aurors and it seems Moody was at least curious as Nymphadora was really badgering him while she while outspoken never went against Moody or try to persuade him to take another. Kingsley loves to have Nymphadora or Hestia as his trainee or partner now as they were really good. Moody is retiring at the end of the month so he probably wants to make sure Nymphadora and probably Hestia were more than ready to continue and maybe become Master Aurors themselves one day. Kingsley remembers that when he was trained by Moody it was brutal and he was trained by Moody even when he had three protégés when he was Junior Auror. He became a full normal Auror right after Voldemort was gone just two days after Frank was attacked.

He was one of the Aurors that went there as soon as they could but they were delayed as his squad leader wanted more information about what was happening. He hated his squad leader as he thought if they were earlier they may have saved Frank and Alice's minds. The squad leader was sacked by Amelia as her first decision as director of the DMLE especially as Augusta Longbottom was on a warpath the first few weeks. She would have burned down the ministry, have the squad leader and senior Aurors experience the same she would kill them for fallen her son and daughter-in-law if she didn't have her grandson to take care of Kingsley was sure that at least the ministry was destroyed.

7th June 1994, DADA office, 3rd floor, Hogwarts

Harry walks softly toward Professor Lupin's office. As he arrives he sees that the door is open. When he looks in he sees Lupin standing over a battered suitcase, filling it with the last of his books. Harry wants to knock on the door to announce his presence when Professor Lupin without turning says "hello, Harry."

Lupin turns around with some books in his hands. Lupin smiles with slightly haggard eyes.

Lupin put the books in his hand on his desk and points with his wand at the open Marauders map as he says "I saw you coming."

Harry slightly nods as he looks back to Lupin that uses his wand to close a small cabinet. Harry shows a look that Lupin thought was shocked by his appearance.

Lupin says seriously without bitterness " I've looked worse, believe me."

Harry says "that is not what I mean Professor Lupin but last night you were hit by Buckbeak….. twice. Once on your face and the other on your left arm and part of your chest I think."

Lupin says "yes that certainly is possible. However, Harry as I am part Werewolf if I have injuries I heal very quickly and also I can withstand more than most people before I am unable to fight or live. My Werewolf side gives me a bit resistance to magic certainly mind magic and I am also faster and stronger thanks to my Werewolf side."

"There is one thing not many people know but the injuries I sustain will being under the influence of the full moon or in other words when I am a werewolf the injuries I get are always healed the next morning and there is no sign of them the only scars I keep when I am in my Werewolf form is from the bite I got that gave me Lycanthropy and my first change. The only other thing that would give me a small scar is life-threatening injuries or injuries with silver, however, I have never had some like that but other Werewolves have that I happen to come across."

Harry shows understanding in his eyes when he notices the open desk drawers and bare bookshelves.

Harry says with unbelief "you've been sacked."

Professor Lupin says "no, no, resigned, actually" while putting some papers away and ripping another before putting that away too.

Harry still clearly in unbelief asks "resigned! But why?!"

Professor Lupin says while continuing packing "well, it seems that someone has let slip the nature of my condition."

Harry immediately knew and says "Snape."

Lupin doesn't react to deny it and Harry knew he was right.

Lupin says "whoever. It was bound to get out. This time tomorrow, the owls will start arriving. Parents will not want a … well, someone like me … teaching their children."

Harry says "but Dumbledore ….."

Lupin interrupts Harry by saying "Dumbledore has already risked enough on my behalf. Besides, people like me, well... let's just say I'm used to this by now."

Lupin waves his wand to make his trunk pack itself. When the trunk is packed Lupin look at Harry.

Lupin asks Harry "why do you look so miserable Harry?"

Harry says "none of it made any difference. Pettigrew escaped."

Lupin leans on the desk and says "didn't make any difference, Harry it made all the difference in the world. You helped uncover the truth, you saved an innocent man from a terrible fate. You made a great deal of difference."

Lupin grabbed a heavy bag from his desk and carry it to the small cabinet near the door. He put the bag down and put his wand on the small cabinet.

He says "if I am proud of anything it is how much you learned this year."

Lupin put a cloak over his arm before grabbing his wand again as he says "now as I am no longer your teacher I feel no guilt whatsoever to give this back to you. The one who should have got it in the first place."

Lupin looks Harry in the eyes again and says after a minute of silence "so now I'll say goodbye if you are sure we meet again sometime."

Harry nods and Lupin continues "until then. Mischief managed."

Lupin grabs his cane by the door and leaves the office. Harry walks to the door and sees Lupin walking through the classroom and leaving through the door not once looking back.

7th June, the Great Hall, Hogwarts

It was at the start of dinner and Dumbledore stand up and Professor McGonagall taps her glass, making sure everyone was turning their attention to the front and the Teachers table.

Professor Dumbledore was standing at the pedestal with the owl spreading its wings.

Professor Dumbledore starts speaking "like many of you may have heard Professor Lupin is indeed a werewolf. The next full moon is on the 23rd of June and with that in mind including he has not attacked any student on the days he was not a Werewolf the board of governors have agreed to let Professor Lupin finish his lessons and this school year until the 20th of June. On that day he is required to leave. That means that the next week you will still get the DADA lesson and the exam but some lessons while however been cancelled as the governors would only allow it if another Professor could be present. The same is for the exam for DADA. Tomorrow morning in the Common Rooms the head of house will let the years know which lessons will continue and which one will not. The Head of House will also tell the first, second, third, fourth and sixth years when the exam will be. Professor Lupin will only give classes and exams and not meet in private or talk about anything outside of class. He will stay until the 20th at the Three Broomsticks including all meals he will have there. If you have any questions Professor Flitwick was so nice to answer any questions you may have about defence against the dark arts."

"On another note, Sirius Black has been here last night but has unfortunately escaped. As he was captured we have a strong suspicion that he has fled and will probably try to leave the country because of that the Dementors are no longer patrolling the border although there will be some Aurors around the border to make sure Sirius Black doesn't return when he thinks it is safe to try again."

Most look at Harry from all the table but Harry manages to keep an indifferent face to show he didn't know or wasn't in any way responsible for his escape or that he knew Sirius Black has been here. Harry didn't look scared as he was not but also try to show the other students they shouldn't be afraid.

Professor Dumbledore walks back and took a seat before the food started to appear. Everybody was silent for a second but as soon as the first persons start to grab food and start eating everybody else start to follow and within 15 minutes the Great Hall was full of activity like nothing has happened.

Harry was happy that at least one DADA Professor didn't want to kill him or was a fraud and was a good competent teacher. Harry was really thankful as Lupin taught him the Patronus charm that saved his and Sirius's life. Professor Lupin had given him back the Marauders Map this morning as he thought he was sacked but apparently, Professor Dumbledore managed to convince the board of governors to let Professor Lupin continue his class until almost one week before the term would end.

Harry looks around and sees Daphne she doesn't look troubled but annoyed. Harry didn't know what he could say as she was having her cold expression but he just knew she was. She didn't tell him anything today so the potion was probably brewing very well or at least good enough. He is happy Astoria had heard him and Daphne really wants to help or at least found it was her obligation to as he saved her also he would do it again in a heartbeat even if Susan wasn't beside her.

9th June, Gryffindor Common Room, Hogwarts

It was early in the morning Harry had just come back from his morning run around the Quidditch stadium and had taken a shower. When he came down Professor McGonagall was standing in front of the portrait opening. Harry saw that on the morning of the 7th after he was released from the hospital wing the security trolls were removed.

The first year get first and then the second year. Ginny is standing next to Harry and he sees that her DADA lessons will continue for the next two days.

Harry thinks 'that would probably be Professor McGonagall or Professor Flitwick and hopes it is not Snape.'

Harry, Hermione, Ron and Neville got their new schedule with the other third years before Professor McGonagall continues with the fourth years and up. The fifth and seven years will continue all the lessons so some lessons from other teachers are cancelled but only today and tomorrow as the Owl's start on the 13th on Monday and it is already Thursday. As Professor Lupin gave a very good lesson they were only having a class to repay the most important things and give pointers to certain things and if needed rehearse some of the more complicated spells, curses, hexes and anti-curses. It was also a class to rehearse on your own mostly the theoretical parts as you got a theoretical and practical exam for OWL and NEWT DADA.

Harry sees that his DADA lesson that day the fourth period will continue. Harry was happy but he hoped just own things and that is that Snape was not the teacher who is present besides Professor Lupin. Remember didn't know how but when he is back in the present he was already halfway down the Great Hall for breakfast and notice that Ron was many feet in front of him, Hermione and Neville while he heard Seamus and Dean a few feet behind him talking about the upcoming exam for divination and how the practical work was useless and stupid that Parvati and Lavender were arguing with them that it wasn't.

Harry thought 'Hermione dropped it but she still follows muggle studies maybe I can talk to her about it especially as she had already complaint it is very outdated.'

Harry was shocked again when he hears his name a couple of times and see Neville looking at him. Harry asks "what is it, Neville?"

Neville says "I was asking if you were ready for DADA today and who you hoped was present with Professor Lupin."

Harry smiles and says "everyone but Snape."

Neville gave a grim smile and says "let's hope so."

Harry smiles and continues walking to the Great Hall.

9th June 1994, fourth period, DADA classroom, Hogwarts Castle

The Gryffindor third years walk in first as they follow Harry walks in with Hermione immediately behind him as is Neville and Ron although Ron was a bit afraid as he had seen Professor transform into a werewolf and while he could walk his leg was still hurting a bit as Madam Pomfrey fixed it but said it would hurt for a little while but could use it again.

Professor Lupin walks in afraid that Harry would be afraid like most of the students look. Professor Lupin's fear was however not justified as when he managed to look at Harry he sees Harry smile at him. Sure Professor Lupin had talked before with Harry but he thought that was only to get the Marauder's Map back and was with his mind at Sirius that needed to run for his life again. It seems that Harry was okay and with him being okay he noticed that some other students relaxed a bit but especially Hermione who will look at him was also glancing at Harry the whole time. Professor Lupin tried not to smile and walks to the front.

He waits for a few minutes when the door opens and Professor Flitwick apologizes to Professor Lupin for being late. He conjures a comfy looking chair a couple of feet behind the desk before he levitates himself on it. Professor Flitwick left more than enough room that Professor Lupin could take a seat behind the desk if he wants to.

Professor Flitwick like most other Professors was only to observe and not intervene unless Professor Lupin will attack the children. All the heads of a house but Professor Snape were certain Remus would never do that as they had heard nothing but praise, especially about him and his lesson considering the other DADA Professors the last couple of years were all incompetent with Lockhart being the icing on the cake. They never knew what happened with Quirrell only that he was killed by something Dumbledore used part of the oath to prevent them from asking further.

Professor Flitwick, McGonagall and Sprout were sure that Remus would never attack the students certainly not during the day as only his Werewolf side is dangerous and that was only one night of the month well this month it was twice but still besides those nights he was one of the nicest guys and gentle soul.

9th June 1994, Headmasters office, Hogwarts

Dumbledore was happy he could convince the board of Governors to let Lupin at least stay until the end of the year as it would make Lupin trust Dumbledore more at least he hopes so. He was displeased with Lupin as he didn't sis what he needed to do he needed to bite Hermione Granger, but now he couldn't do it. Lupin, of course, didn't know if that plan was one of the reasons he hired him.

The worse part was Dumbledore couldn't read her mind, but there was no Occlumnecy shield before this year and now he couldn't even go into her mind to see the shields because of the light. He could only read that she was happy and another emotion he had never seen before and don't know what it is.

Dumbledore knew one thing sure Harry was the reason for her happiness, but was she happy for Harry or happy because of Harry. Dumbledore tried to subtle break into her mind it didn't work he tried to do it even more subtle to get into her mind but the protection knew and again resisted. When he tried to do a bit more forceful he needed to pull immediately back or the mudblood Granger would have felt it and he would have been pushed back by the magic that blocked him.

'There was a small chance that mudblood Granger would know what I tried to do' Dumbledore thought while looking annoyed.

Dumbledore continued 'and even if she didn't she would devour every book to get her hands on to try a find the reason for the pressure she obviously felt from my push if I went a little bit further with the use of Legimency. I barely remained standing from being pushed back. I need to wait until the summer to remove those books. If Granger notices she will search Flourish and Blotts for those books and he can't let that happen as there are books about Magical culture, Britain's old magical houses and the rights for the Most Ancient and Most Noble House that Potter is one from as is Black and the history of Magical Britain. If she manages to read one of those she could ruin the Greater Good as she will immediately tell Harry and that must certainly not happen. Until I know how she protects her mind I cannot risk that obliviating will fail.'

Dumbledore takes one of his lemon drops that contains a calming potion as he needs it.

16th June 1994, DADA classroom, Hogwarts Castle

Because Professor Lupin must leave Monday before noon the theoretical exam of DADA was today before noon and after lunch was the charms theoretical exam which means that they had a few days off before the end of the school year on 30th June. Professor Lupin was not here for the theoretical exam they have Professor Vector to make sure nobody cheated. She was nice and fair but also strict. She was like Professor McGonagall but younger and not as strict and a little less nice maybe because she is in close age to her students that she acts more distant and therefore less nice character.

17th June 1994, largest classroom on the DADA floor, Third floor, Hogwarts Castle

Today was the practical DADA exam and to comply with the demand of the board of Governors there was another Professor. Professor Lupin has made an obstacle course for the third, fourth and sixth years. He decided to do the third year as of last so he didn't need to worry about it. He wondered how Harry would do and something that he had been wondering about since the first lesson was Neville Longbottom or better said his wand. That wand he has he had seen before but he doesn't remember where from but it looks like it wasn't a good match while Ollivander's wands always work. It is not uncommon to get another wand after Hogwarts as people change so need another wand to suit them but to already have a wand not working for you in your third year is something that has never happened before.

The head of the houses decided that they would be present for their house except for Professor Snape as after the escape of Sirius he couldn't be left alone with Remus and the other heads of houses knew that so they asked another Professor to watch Slytherins house. The Professor to watch Slytherin is Professor Sinistra.

As the years went together and not by the house all three heads of houses, Professor Sinistra and Professor Lupin were able to watch them going through the obstacle course as you need to reach the boggart and defeat him if you couldn't continue or were caught Professor Lupin would release you so you could continue but of course, if that happened you would not get an O or a very high EE. Some of the times besides your head of house (except Slytherin) and Professor Lupin one other Professor was also there as they need to change between the head of houses if someone from another house came Professor Lupin made a room at the side where the head of houses and Professor Sinistra could sit, talk and drink before someone of their house was up but they could also look at the next student even if it wasn't from their house. The Professor(s) were hidden from the students as they followed them but could take a seat in the last room before the student was there by using a shortcut. Almost every time a Professor sat in the chair waiting for the student in the last room while Professor Lupin followed them to make sure they could reach the last room.

The classroom was the largest the students have ever seen and was made on an obstacle course.

The first obstacle is that you need to push a block out of the way so you can advance then there are three targets at the ceiling you need to hit with red sparks although green was also allowed as fast as possible and was given extra points if you can do it with the one Vermillious Tria or Verdimillious Tria spell hitting all the targets without missing.

You can continue when you hit all the targets (unless it takes too long). The next obstacle is a deep paddling pool containing a Grindylow that you need to pass without severely injuring or killing the Grindylow.

After the pool are at least a dozen small potholes and you need to advance through everyone. In every hole is a Red Cap that you need to defeat. You get extra points if you use four different ways of defeating them without killing them.

You need to go through a door after you deactivated the hex on the door. When you have passed through you enter a patch of the marsh while it was dark inside. Some lanterns point the way to the other side. You must enter the other side while ignoring the Hinkypunk's misleading directions as Hinkypunk lure travellers at night into treacherous bogs or wetlands under the guise of a helpful, lamp-bearing being trapping magical and muggle folk alike. They don't scare muggles as it is seen as a sign to help them. When someone is lured away very few muggles can take their eyes off it most can't take their eyes off it until it is too late. Magical folk aren't entranced by the Hinkypunks like muggles at least most aren't, some weak-willed or desperate magical folk will most probably fall to a Hinkypunk, it is has happened before.

If you ignore the Hinkypunk you need to crawl through a tree trunk followed by climbing over a large wall with a rope you can use. You then need to crawl under a sticking web that closes in on you so you need to be (relatively) quick before you are caught or can't move anymore because of the sticking charm that is over the whole web.

After the web, you are almost done. There is one door with a curse on it that you need to dispel. When you have done that enter the room where there is a heavily moving trunk.

The last obstacle is a boggart between you and the door that is the exit from the obstacle course. The Professor and Professor Lupin were far enough away from the boggart only change into the biggest fear of the student.

You going alphabetically on your last name except for Harry he is going last. Professor Lupin and the other Professor(s) present will follow you through the exam and help you if needed like freeing you or something similar like defending you if you can't. The Professors wouldn't help with the spellcasting as that is part of the exam.

The only creature that the third years learned about but was not in the exam is a Kappa as it isn't native to the British isles and the chance you would encounter outside of Japan where they are native is smaller than Hermione damaging a book even if the book is wrong. They also learned about Pixies and Imps but as that was revision they were not included in the obstacle course.

Hannah (Abbot) was first followed by Susan (Bones) of the time only Professor Lupin and Professor Sprout were present. Hannah only needed to be saved once that when she was caught by the web. Susan had trouble with the physical parts especially because of her more than average breasts, however, it looked like Susan was going to make it but just as she thought she was done with the web her left leg was grabbed by the web. Both defeated the Boggart but as they had trouble with the number of red caps although they managed to pass it barely and Professor Lupin almost needed to intervene they got a solid but just below average EE.

Hannah was pleased but Susan was not especially as her aunt Amelia Bones had always had O's at the end of the year exam although sometimes it was a small O. Because the practical part was 75% of your grade the chance you could be able to increase or decrease your grade by the theoretical part is small. Susan hoped her aunt wasn't too disappointed. Last year she didn't mind because of the attacks and Lockhart was, of course, fraud and in the first year she did well for the first year, at least that is what her aunt said.

Susan has considered asking Hermione to help until she heard from Hermione that Harry was better not only in the practical and casting part but he also seemed to understand the theoretical part very well maybe even a bit better than Hermione at most spell theories from DADA.

A couple of students followed all ranging from barely an A to a solid and above average EE but there were no high EE's and nobody was close to even getting a (small) O. The obstacle course for the fourth year and sixth year had barely O's but there were many 'high' EE's Professor Lupin was wondering if maybe an obstacle for third years was a bad idea.

Professor McGonagall took a seat next to him and it looks like she knew what he thought as she says "Remus it is a good idea to give the third years an obstacle course as this would be a great exam for them."

Remus says "I hope so Minerva but the average grade is lower than the fourth year and sixth year's average grade after the same percentage of students were done and this obstacle course is easier than the other two."

Professor Sprout and Professor Flitwick also came out and Pomona says "it is possible Remus that the better students will be at the end."

Remus says "maybe. Anyway next is oh ….. Hermione Granger."

Professor Lupin opens the door and calls in Hermione who was pacing a bit as she was very nervous. Harry wasn't here yet as he knew he was last so she couldn't use Harry to keep her calm. She hopes she could talk to Daphne about the theoretical exams yesterday but there were a couple of the bad Slytherins and she didn't want to put Daphne in a difficult position.

Hermione starts and she easily moves the large block away with a Flipendo. She needed three tries to hit the three targets she hit one with each spell even though she uses the tria spell every time but the last. When she was walking through the water she was grabbed but was able to hit the Grindylow to let go and then stuns the Grindylow.

She manages to beat the Redcaps in five different ways that would give her an extra point especially as the fifth one was extra difficult and he didn't teach the class that one as it is very difficult. He has told the OWL students the theory of it but only showed the sixth and seventh years and let them practise it. Hermione had a hard time using that one but she succeeded even though it was barely and she needed to catch her breath after it.

She opened the door and was hit by the hex but she almost immediately recognizes the hex and cast the counter curse. She enters the marsh and immediately the Hinkypunk pretends to be a helpful light to show her the way, but she knew it was a Hinkypunk and ignores it. Right before she was able to see the tree trunk the Hinkypunk does a desperate attempt but Hermione saw it but she continues like the Hinkypunk wasn't even there and reaches the tree trunk.

She easily climbs through a tree trunk but as she is quite developed she has a bit more trouble than she first thought. She managed to get through it and when she sees the wall she uses the rope to climb the wall quite fast as she knew what she needed to do while a couple of pureblood didn't know what to do.

As soon as is over it she sees the web and knew what to do she makes sure her wand is still in her pocket and she didn't lose it when she climbed the wall. She crawls under the web and soon realizes the web is sticky and is chasing her to trap her. She barely makes it when it got a hold of her shoe. Professor Lupin went to release her when she managed to release it herself by a spell. Remus got a large smile as it was an easy spell that he is sure they have learned but none of the others thought about using that.

Hermione sees a door. Hermione wants to touch the doorknob to open it but just inches before she touches the doorknob she stops. She takes a few steps back and casts a spell so she knows it is cursed. She tries and general anti-curse spell and when she cast a spell again she sees the curse is gone and went through it.

She sees a heavily moving trunk and knows it can only be one thing a boggart and obviously you need to defeat it before going through the door which Hermione think is probably the door to finish it.

Remus from the side opens the trunk and the top opens. The boggart has already changed inside the trunk and out of the trunk walks Professor McGonagall. Professor McGonagall that sits next to Professor Lupin is ashamed. She is very proud of Hermione her little cub but also the lioness she never wants to be the biggest nightmare if one of her cubs is certainly not Hermione she likes very much as she liked Lily.

Hermione is like Lily very smart and intelligent. Lily had more admirers than Hermione maybe because Lily wasn't seen as a bossy or a know-it-all or at least not put down because of it if she must guess it only intrigued her godson James Potter only more. She knows there is a change it is the same with Hermione and Harry. Lily like Hermione was her cubs but also lionesses when needed at the same time, especially against the Potter men, Lily against James and Hermione against Harry.

She was to walk away because she is ashamed when she hears the boggart Professor McGonagall say "you have failed everyth…" the dementor started to change but you could hear Professor McGonagall's voice "and are hereby expelled from Hog…."

The boggart finishes changing and in front of Hermione stands Harry. Professor Flitwick says "Minerva look."

Professor McGonagall turns around and sees she isn't there anymore but the boggart turned into Harry. The boggart Harry had a nasty look on his face.

Harry boggart says "do you really think I am your friend? HAHAHA, I never was I just used you for your brain the only thing that is worth mentioning about you. You are nothing to me. I only apologized because the girls wanted me to. I just did it so the girls that are much better looking than you would think I care. I am sure I can take one of them for myself the question is who and the answer is never you. Did you really think I would ever love you? No, I would never as I don't even like you. You are nothing more than an insane, bossy, bushy-haired, know-it-all, beaver face mudblood."

Professor McGonagall looks shocked. Suddenly her face turns to anger and almost hissed like her Animagus form as she says "how can Harry say that. He would be in detention till he is 50 at least."

She wants to walk toward a heavily crying Hermione when Professor Lupin stops her as Hermione still had her wand in her heavy shaken hand. Professor McGonagall looks at Professor Lupin and looks him as she wants to question him.

Professor Lupin says "Minerva you forget this is not real. Harry would never call her that or just use her. He isn't like that and I would never believe the son of James, your godson or Lily could do that. This is her worst fear, but I must say I am surprised as first, you were Miss Granger's worst fear that she failed everything and got expelled but it looked like her worst fear has changed during the year."

Professor McGonagall kicks herself in her head, of course, it wasn't true. It is Harry that she is thinking about not to mention she knows this is a boggart. When she sees that Hermione is crying too hard to fight against the boggart she silently casts "Riddikulus". Hermione was running out of the room and passed the boggart before the spell hit the boggart. Professor McGonagall looks at the other Professors and Professor Flitwick says "go Minerva. We will look after the Gryffindors if you want."

Professor McGonagall says "that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Filius, Pomona, Aurora and Remus."

Professor McGonagall rushes to the exit where the exam would end as Hermione ran to it so she has finished the exam. She looks around and sees Hermione just rounding the corner at the end of the hallway. Professor McGonagall immediately follows. She needs to hurry as Hermione is running. After a few hallways, she is close to stunning her or changing in her Animagus form as she is faster that way. Just when she decides to do that as she rounds the corner she is shocked to see the middle of the Hallway Hermione hugging Harry. Harry is awkwardly trying to console her while Hermione is holding his shirt and burying her face in it.

Professor McGonagall sees that Harry is getting uncomfortable while trying his best to comfort his best friend. Professor McGonagall just knows that this is love and thought to herself 'well James it seems he is getting his girl sooner than you did and maybe even more than one now I think about Ginny Weasley or Katie Bell not mentioning girls from other houses. Maybe he can fulfil what you tried to do not because you wanted to but to help Harry no matter how mad Lily was.'

When she sees Harry is starting to panic a little she decides to intervene. She walks to them and says "Miss Granger why don't you let go of Mr. Potter and we can talk."

Hermione shook her head as she doesn't want to let Harry go. Professor McGonagall tried to suppress a smile not because she is happy Hermione is crying but because it is so cute Hermione did not want to let Harry go.

Professor McGonagall says "Harry how did you find Hermione?"

Harry says "I didn't find her Professor McGonagall. She kind of found me. I felt something that guides me here and just when I was here Hermione run around the corner right into me. She hugged me although I didn't think with how fast she was running and looking to the ground with ….. tears blurring her vision she can see who I was but apparently she did."

Professor McGonagall was wondering if they have some kind of bond maybe what James and Lily got when they were dating right before being engaged. Anyway, she says "Harry could you let go of Hermione. I will talk to her and try to calm her down you need to prepare for the DADA exam."

Harry was considering it but when Professor McGonagall put his hand on his shoulder and gently says "please Harry trust me."

He feels that he should trust her, and gives her a chance but he didn't want to let Hermione be hurt if Professor McGonagall hurt his trust by not being able to calm Hermione down or even get her more upset. If Professor McGonagall tries but doesn't succeed she wouldn't hurt me trusting her but still.

Harry decides and says "okay Professor McGonagall but if Hermione needs me or Hermione is hurt please let me know."

Professor McGonagall nods before she slowly takes Hermione out of Harry's arms. Hermione starts to cry harder when she feels Harry letting her go. She looks to the other arms and sees Professor McGonagall smiling gently and when she looks at Harry she sees Harry looks a bit awkwardly but sees his muscles stop being tensed.

Harry says "I am sorry Hermione, but I need to go. I want to help you but I need to go to the DADA classroom to get ready. I know I am last but I want to prepare so Professor McGonagall will help you but if you really need me I will come immediately if you need me to. If you need me now I can ask Remu…. Professor Lupin if I can take the exam Sunday or Monday before he leaves."

Hermione while wanting Harry to be close doesn't want him to fail the exam and manages to say without letting her tears stop her "N-no Harry. You need to do the e-exam today. I-I-I will be fine in a bit."

Harry asks gently "are you sure?"

Hermione not trusting her voice would say it with determination and just heavily nod her head. Harry seems conflicted but says "okay. Just let Professor McGonagall know where you are going if you go before I am done and I am coming immediately after I am done with my exam."

Hermione gave a great smile and is happy that Harry really is her best friend while she wants so much more. She says "okay Harry. Good luck with the exam not that you need it. I am sure you get an O."

Harry says "thank you, Hermione, I am sure you have done so too. See you soon, maybe I can ask Professor Lupin to go sooner."

The last is mostly to himself as he immediately starts to run to the classroom to ask Professor Lupin to go first if possible.

I will end here for now. I know this chapter took a lot of time but I had writer's block and needed to adjust the planning of the story and IRL. I had some important things that do that made the chapter a bit more difficult to finish.

Unfortunately, I didn't get where I wanted to be. In the next chapter will be Neville's and Harry's exams, the last few days and a part of the summer. If possible Harry will reach the Weasley's in the next chapter or even the Quidditch World Cup. We will see.

A/N #1 For everyone that wants to know. The Black Lake and the Black Lake in the Forbidden forest are connected through a 'small' stream above ground and a 'small' underwater stream which is why it is also part of the Black Lake. Over the stream are two crossings. One is shallow and easy to cross while the other is closer to the large Black Lake and has a bridge (the one closer to the Black lake) with a path that goes past the lake and the boathouse although the boathouse is further in the distance and it took a bit of time to walk from the bridge to the boathouse.
