Trying To Find A Path
After getting cleaned up in a remote cleaning station out in the middle of nowhere, the five friends now tried to decide on what to do next. "Okay," Skylar said, "I've paid them. Don't worry about it. And Kaz, thank you for behaving."
"No problem!" Kaz said, "Luckily, that wasn't my fault." "Don't go overboard with that," Spiritstrike said in a stern tone. "Well," Jinny said, "I'm glad those forklift fellows did a great job with us. Especially for you, Clipper." The little plane nodded to agree with Jinny.
"We just need to figure out where to go now," Skylar said, "Say, Kaz, your map." "All right-way, then," Kaz replied, getting out his map. "Well, that's something useful," Spiritstrike said in her cold tone of voice. "Okay," Kaz said, "We're, right here."
"We've just left a cleaning station to get the mud off," Skylar said, "Which is in this area, that's not on the map." "Well," Kaz said, "There's a large town called Crushington." "Okay," Skylar said, "Go on then."
"Hey they even have a Truckington," Skylar added, "And a Wrightington." "So, where's the nearest town?" Jinny asked. "Let me check," Kaz said. "Okay," Skylar said. Clipper had to agree.
"Okay," Kaz said at last, "We go down this road here." "Okay," Skylar agreed. "Let's hit the road!" Jinny said excitedly. So after Kaz put his map away, the five friends set off to where they are going.
But after a few hours of driving, they ended up in an unknown area, way south of their original destination. "Hold on," Skylar said, "I don't recognize this place." "Neither do I," Jinny said. Kaz then looked at the map.
"This is-" he mumbled, "No where. I though if we continue on this road, we'd be at the nearest town by now." "Yes," Skylar agreed. Then Spiritstrike realized what is going on. "Wait a minute," she muttered.
It turned out that Kaz was holding the map upside-down. "Try again," Spiritstrike said after turning it right-side-up for him. "All right," Kaz said, "We've gone off course from our original destination. And where we're supposed to go." "Ready?" Spiritstrike asked in her usual cold tone of voice.
And after Kaz stowed his map away, the five friends set off.
After a few more minutes of driving, they are now near an airfield. "Okay," Skylar said, "Where to next?" "Let me get it first," Kaz said, "Again." "Yes," Spiritstrike said sternly. Then Clipper felt something in the air.
"What's going on?" Skylar asked his little plane companion. Once again, Kaz got out his map, only to have a strong gust of wind blow it away. "What the?!" Skylar said. "Oops," he replied.
The other cars looked at the map as it flew really high into the sky and the next moment, a large biplane flew above and had accidently shredded the map with its propeller. "You don't see that everyday?" Kaz added in.
The three cars just stared at him. Even Clipper gave a cold stare. "Sorry," Kaz said meekly as the pieces of the map rained down on the four cars and little plane. "Way to go, genius," Spiritstrike muttered.
"Well," Jinny said, looking on the bright side, "We can travel by choice. We don't need a map." "I'll go with you, Jinny," Skylar said, "Anyway, as I can remember, there is a town close to here."
Then Skylar drove onto a certain stretch of road. "If we go down this way," he continued, looking down on the roadway, "We'll get to the nearest town. Well, a different town."
"If you say so," Jinny said. "Come on, Kaz," Spiritstrike muttered. "Right," Kaz agreed.
So, they set off to their next destination.
