When You Love Someone
Chapter 20: Milk and Cookies
The first thing I noticed when I finally got my senses back was this: I was no longer in England.
Instead, I was on a dirt-covered ground, somewhere where there was no sunlight, and I was chained up and alone. With a hiss, I moved my arms only for a stinging pain to shoot up my arms and the more I moved the more stinging occurred.
"Oh, look who's finally awake" I heard a voice call in the distance as the sound of a door creaked opened and footsteps approached me.
I stayed silent, keeping still. I knew the stinging would stop and I wasn't going to give my captor any satisfaction in my struggle. At least this way I had some control.
"Aw, come on sweetheart, give me something. I know you're awake" He said sweetly before I was yanked off the ground by my hair and I felt a hard slap across my face. I gasped and my eyes snapped open to see a young man, his dirty blonde hair tied back in a ponytail and I had flashbacks of James. They had many similarities besides their hair choices, but they had the same glint in their eyes. The enjoyment of what he was doing. I tried to hold back my shiver.
"Now there she is! Wide awake after a little nap. Probably the only time you'll sleep, girl." He grinned, his face coming close to mind as I squirmed away, trying to put as much distance as I could.
"Aw, you don't like me, princess. You're going to hurt my feelings" He chuckled before throwing me hard onto the ground, the movement jostling the chains and making the stinging more intense, making me hiss in pain.
Doing so only made him laugh harder, the sadistic smile slowly forming.
#!"I don't think I'll tire of that, seeing your pretty face all scrunched up. It's almost a pity we won't have more time together; after all, I can make you hiss in pain, maybe I can make you hiss in pleasure too" He whispered as he stepped forward bringing his hand to my face and slowly bringing it downward. Brushing his hand against the side of my breast as I clenched my teeth and bite his hand hard.
"Ooo your feisty, I like that. He smirked before grasping me and I gasped at the unwanted touch. I tried to squirm away from the unwanted touch, and I could feel his fingers getting closer and closer to my opening. Trying not to panic I concentrated as I finally put up my shield. I threw him off me and he slammed hard into the rocks and I smiled at his pain-filled scream. #!
"You bitch!" He snarled as I felt his hand slap me hard, the force sending me rocking, the chains rattling.
"You touch me again and it will be worse for you" I growled out, my threat clear.
"Just you wait princess, I'll make you scream one way or another," He said lowly as he yanked on the chain holding me, the spikes running deeper into my skin, the stinging somehow feeling like fire.
Taking a sharp breath, I was not going to scream, I was not going to let this sick bastard get what he wants.
"Xander, enough!" A commanding voice leveled as I heard footsteps from a darkened hallway. "We are not meant to toy with her, we have one reason and one reason only" Chelsea said as she appeared in front of me, her cool gaze never leaving me.
"She is our guest and thus we treat her as such: If you want to play, go somewhere else" She commanded as he grinned and dashed off, the door closing with a soft click.
"I told you to stop looking," She said as she loosened the chains, not enough to where I could escape obviously but just that when I moved it didn't burn as much.
"And I said I wanted to learn" I countered as she sighed, looking tired. "How did you knock me out? Last time I checked vampires couldn't sleep" I asked, wanting to keep her talking.
"Simple enough concoction, at least if you're smart enough to figure it out; one of the few recipes we managed to save before she hid her book. So why don't you tell me how you found out and where you hid it" she replied, casting her steely gaze on me.
"I don't know what you are talking about," I said stubbornly
"C'mon Bella, level with me; we both know that's not true. At least give me the benefit of being honest" She scowled as I rolled my eyes.
"Right, give you, my kidnapper, the benefit of my honesty? Like I would tell you anything" I glared as she sighed and secured the chains.
"That's unfortunate; it is. Believe me or not I'm trying to help you; what, you think I like keeping you here or helping him with his plans? I'm as much of a victim as you are, except my chains are made of a different kind" She said softly as she sat down on the ground, just out of my reach, making herself comfortable as I glared.
"Right, and as a victim, you traveled to England, knocked me and my friends out, and delivered me back here; all forced by this unknown captor who is diabolically planning our demise?" I asked sarcastically as her eyes moved to the floor. "That's what I thought"
"It's not what you think!" She snarled, temporarily losing her cool.
"Really? Then pray tell, who's behind this? You claim it's not you, you claim a victim…so prove it. Help me, help you and you can start by letting me go and telling me where my friends are"
"You know as well as I do this can't be helped" She whispered
"I don't know that actually, for as much as I know about everything it's astonishing at how much I don't. So, what do you know? Who killed her?" I asked righting myself into a sitting position.
"I told you I don't know. I wasn't lying about that" She told me, her honesty shining through.
"But you do know what happened to her before" I pressed as she looked towards the wall.
"Yes" She whispered, so small I could barely hear it.
"How," I asked, matching her tone; wanting to know more.
With that she turned, her gaze a mixture of emotion as she uttered the one word I dreaded "Alec"
Swallowing and I sucked in a breath trying hard to control my emotions. I knew it, I fucking knew it. He did do it.
"He didn't do it" She whispered as I sharply turned to her, her expression sad and morose. "He couldn't do it. Nor would he want too" She whispered as I eyed her suspiciously.
"So how did Alec have a play in this?"
"I'm sure you know the beginning, he must have told you – given how close you two are" She mumbled, a hint of jealousy in her voice.
"He did" I muttered as she nodded slowly her eyes having that far-off look.
"He didn't want to go but we were being outnumbered and Caius gave me the order. I raced to Alec where I saw him and Didyme on the battlefield. Didyme busy looking for Marcus and Alec busy looking over her. I instructed Alec to go where Caius was, but I didn't know Caius had followed me. Didyme was given to Caius and I went with Alec. We were more than partners at the time though, so it wasn't that bad" She said, a hint of a smile playing on her lips as I stifled a growl.
"I wanted to protect him and when the fighting was over and the smoke cleared, we thought we had won and, in a way, we did, but we didn't know what we lost. Those were some of the darkest days in our court, for Marcus especially. It wasn't long until Marcus enforced the curse." She whispered as my eyes flashed.
"What curse?" I asked softly as she smiled and shook her head, almost fondly
"Alec and Marcus thought they were so clever, hiding that from the court, hiding it from me but of course I found out. There are many secrets a man can tell with the right incentive and Alec was so torn up about her death. He needed the comfort and my body proved enough" She whispered smiling at the memory, and I let loose a growl, which only made her smile wider.
"Oh, calm yourself, it's not like we did anything recently. We found comfort in each other, we both knew what it meant with her absence and in a way, we both had a hand in what happened. We were each other's only comfort. We found solace in each other and somehow, we healed what we could. After I found Afton, I broke it off and he understood. After all, I found my mate. From then on it was only a matter of the court and what we could do to protect our family from any threats. Then again, we didn't, really I didn't know the biggest threat was right here all along." She whispered
"And what do you mean by that? The curse or the murderer?" I asked, trying hard to control my temper and ignoring the images of Chelsea and Alec together.
"You could say they were the same. Although the culprit who helped plan her murder didn't cast it, he certainly helped it grow. The curse is the reason you're here after all. Though I will give you credit that you've made it farther than anyone before you" She mused as her gaze once again fell on me. "How did you do it? How have you come so far when so many others have failed? What's your secret Bella Swan?" She asked intrigued
"And you want to know, why?" I raised my eyebrow as she chuckled giving me a small smile.
"Call it genuine curiosity. After all, I've been successful in keeping this hidden for centuries, surely you can understand my curiosity that one woman, who was so misguided to come here not once but twice, I would love to know if this is some grand design or pure luck or something only you have?" She asked scooting closer to me as I watched her movements carefully. Not that she didn't notice.
"Please don't fear me, Bella. If I wanted to, I would have killed you by now. On the contrary, rest easy knowing I need you alive. Now if you could answer my question?" She asked sweetly as I kept my eyes on her.
"Tell you what, answer my question and I'll answer yours" I bargained as she laughed, a sweet sound that tinkled like bells. Hard to believe a woman who could laugh so sweetly could be this deranged.
"You hardly in any position to bargain but I admire the tenacity" She chuckled as she checked her watch. "Okay, I'll go to bat, what's your question?" She asked, smiling as if this is a game to her. Possibly it was.
"What is this curse and why did you help in Didyme's murder?" I asked as she laughed once more shaking her head. "Uh oh, that's breaking the rules. I believe it's only one question you're allowed unless I can ask a second one as well?" She asked, "So, which would it be?"
"Fine, let's play. Why did you aid in her murder" I asked since for all I know it could be this makeup thing to scare me; I needed to keep my guard up and focus on the important information.
"That's a good question," She said softly before looking down. "Afraid though the answer might not satisfy you. I didn't help him, at least not with setting her up. On the contrary, I didn't want her killed, we disagreed on many things however that didn't mean I wished her dead. It just so happened I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and since then I had to help them keep what they did a secret. I did kill the others that have gotten too close though. I was going to kill you" She looked me square in the eye. "But I couldn't hurt him like that," She said softly as she smiled grimly.
"He was put through enough, it was him I saved, why would I damn him to the existence of the loss of his mate when I could do him this one justice" She whispered "Alec is a good man, a complicated man, but good. He would have found out too much if I didn't step in, so I aligned myself with him to keep the secret. To keep him safe" She said as she stared me down.
"Why would you help him?" I asked as she nodded.
"I love him, I always have. He brought me out of a very dark place. He was my first friend, now my only friend. Did you know my Afton was killed?" She told me so casually I had to double-check I heard her correctly.
"I'm – I'm sorry," I said quietly as I looked down on my chains. Funny how I was apologizing for her loss when she has me holding against my will.
"Hmm, if it was anyone else, I wouldn't accept it, but I find you authentic to a fault…even when you were the one who killed him," She told me, her eyes soft and tears forming.
"The stranger" I muttered as nodded.
"My mate, my Afton" She sobbed as she yanked the chain causing the stinging to return with a vengeance. I bit my lip at the pain as Chelsea dropped the chain immediately.
"But I'm not mad at you, on the contrary, I pity you. Funny isn't it? You kill my dearest and yet I spare you purely for the sake of keeping someone precious to me sane of mind. Plus, it wasn't your fault, not really. He would have never attacked you if not for that potion. He was truly kind, very gentle. Afton was the opposite of me. He was redeemable but even he wasn't safe."
She whispered. "I'm sure you confused, this whole situation is confusing, isn't it? I don't want to hurt you, I never wanted to hurt the others either, but it was them or me. Or Afton. Or Alec. The list could go on to who he would hurt to keep his secret."
"So that's how you involved, wrong place at the wrong time? What could have happened that would force your hand like this?" I asked as she wiped her eyes and looked at the wall behind me.
"Betrayal"
She spoke softly before her eyes flashed and she stood with a flourish. Walking calmly to the wall she hesitated before she looked back at me before yanking on the chain for a final time, only this time the hook on the wall gave a great groan as I squealed at ferocious pain before the chains around me relaxed and fell around me, freeing me.
Immediately I jumped away but fell to the ground, my legs too weak to hold myself upright. I looked back at Chelsea who was simply looking at me, no emotion on her face.
"Don't bother running, at least not yet. Didyme was a genius, this was the potion that was made to make a vampire weakened for three days. You only on day two since the hotel." She said as I looked at her astonished.
"Why are you helping me?" I asked as she gave me a sad smile.
"Because I have nothing left to lose. Afton is dead because he killed him. Alec is gone looking for you and as soon as you leave, I'm dead too. If I'm going to my mate I want to be redeemed. I don't want my story to end helping a man like that." She whispered as she sunk to the ground, crossing her legs with a serene expression.
"Chelsea" I led on, speaking softly as if I didn't want to startle her "You don't have to die, you can leave, you can always leave. Help me finish what Caius started, please Chelsea" I whispered as she chuckled sadly, tears in her eyes.
"And that right there is why I can't. I made my choices long ago Bella, nothing I do will change my fate, but everything I did will change yours. So here – "She said taking off a necklace with a small key hanging from it. Tossing it to me I caught it easily as I inspected it and turned to her questioning as she looked at me. "That will open a safe in my room; in my dresser will be a small compartment in the back with another key. That will open a safe that's behind a painting Alec gave me. He'll know which one. You'll find everything I've hidden for him, all the evidence he wanted me to burn but will burn him in the end. Be mindful of this key Bella and find Alec. He has one similar that I know he kept. Also, you'll need this too" She whispered as she tossed me another vial, almost identical to the ones I had in the hotel room. In fact, these were the ones I had in the hotel room, except there was a liquid I didn't recognize.
"Before you ask that's bane's breath; you'll need it. Your smart Bella, I'm sure you'll figure it out soon, but you'll need that to do it. Oh, and before I forget" She said softly as she threw a glass vial on me soaking me in a murky white liquid.
Instantly I felt my strength returning and I could stand without falling. Releasing a breath, I stood silently, never taking my gaze off her. She just looked on lazily, like she didn't have a care in the world. "Don't let him win Bella, you're so close and I won't stand in your way." She whispered as she raised her hand and pointed towards the wall "There's a secret door leading to the woods, from there you can get back to the castle. I am sorry for everything I did to you in the hotel and as for your friends, well, I'm sure Alec and your friend will find them in a few hours. A measly camera can't fool me by the way" She looked at me raising her eyebrow as I looked at her softly
"Chelsea you don't have to die. Please come with me, we can beat Caius together, it seems you've been waiting for a long time to get justice" I pleaded with her as she shook her head.
"Oh, but I do, my death will only be one piece in the ending puzzle. Trust me, I'll be okay however if you don't want to meet the same fate, you need to leave. He's on his way back now" She whispered gravely as she clicked something and I heard a small hiss, seeing the wall in front of me open up with a clear pathway into the darkened woods. "Go" She whispered as I looked back at her, the heaviness sinking, and I felt tears in my eyes. "Please" She uttered as I nodded my head, walking backward as I stared at her. I didn't know it then, but Chelsea was one of the bravest, most complimented women I had ever known. I wished I had known Chelsea's full story and even now I don't know everything but what I do know, is that in those few moments we were together I was lucky to have known her.
Biting my lip, I turned on my heel and raced to freedom, Chelsea's eyes forever in my mind.
Reaching the woods and seeing the darkened skies I almost couldn't believe I was back in Italy, except that I would recognize those boulders like the back of my hand. I didn't know if Chelsea or Caius knew about the lab but never less, I couldn't waste time going back to the castle if I didn't have anything more in my arsenal. I had to get to the lab, I had the ingredients, and my heart was telling me it was time. I had to do it, I had to finish what Didyme started and finish the fireproofing potion.
Alec
Flying through the skies Edward was exceptionally quiet, not breathing a word throughout our trip. Normally I would be grateful for the boy's silence but something he said has stuck with me since we left.
"She wasn't mine even back then"
What did he mean by that? I have the safety of my thoughts, all the years of serving Aro has taught me enough to guard my thoughts against mind readers and I'm sure anything else is due to his manners Carlisle has taught to the boy of a Volturi guard member. Yet his expression seemed so earnest, so believable. What did he mean? Sighing I felt my resolve weaken, my thirst for knowledge outweighing my pride. Something did.
"I know you heard my question," I said stiffly as I saw his eyes shift to mine, his mouth moving into a thin line.
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to intrude; your careful I admit but when it comes to Bella, your love outweighs your reason sometimes and I get the faintest glimpses. It's very brief yet if I concentrate, I can see it, although even then it's not a guarantee. I know you don't trust me but please believe me when I say your thoughts are safe with me" He murmured as he turned to look out the window.
"You mention love quite often for me when I have not yet uttered to myself. I don't love her, at least not in the way you're implying" I said stubbornly, and even when I utter them, I don't believe it. In truth, I just don't like the boy knowing my innermost feelings when I had recently come to terms with them myself.
"You know that's not true, it would be a lie to not only you but Bella, although I shouldn't be surprised. She pretty much told me the same thing" He muttered as I had an unexpected stab to the heart at his words.
"She told you she didn't love me?" I asked coolly, not letting my emotion show through as Edward shook his head.
"She did and yet it was a lie. To answer your question, both; Bella is many things, a liar she isn't. She is a horrendously bad liar when it comes to those who know her. She isn't my mate, but I've known her for almost five years now. She is my dearest friend and I've been around her enough that when it comes to emotion, any emotion she closes in fear. Then again I have myself to blame for that." He whispered regretfully to himself as I didn't correct him. He was right for the damage he caused her.
"When we talked, for what feels like, in years, it did feel like I had my friend back. We won't ever be the same as we were but then again that's a good thing. She is so much stronger now and much more accepting of feelings like love, even if she doesn't want too" He smirks as he laughs softly to himself.
"When I foolishly came to die, I never expected Bella to come to my aid. However, she did, out of the goodness of her heart she came for me, yet she left with you in her heart" He turned to me as I kept my eyes forward.
"She noticed you right away, her eyes landed on you before she saw me in the square. From your thoughts, you were the same. In the throne room, she pleads for my case, yet her eyes always drifted to you. I knew even back then she wasn't mine, she never was, but I loved her still. Imagine loving someone who wasn't yours in the first place."
"I don't have too" I murmured as he nodded solemnly
"I supposed you don't" He echoed as the weight of my words settled in the air. "How long have you known?" He asked as I remained stoic
"Not long, it wasn't until Carlisle mentioned anything did I put the pieces together, course mine and Bella's main focus as always been solving the crime and bringing justice to those who deserve it" I mentioned as he nodded
"I believe it, you and Bella are the same in the aspect. You both have a burning need for justice; the same thirst for knowledge."
"Of course, Bella may not have had the choice in that regard" I mumbled as Edward quirked his eyebrow
"The curse of Didyme," He asked as I looked at him from my peripheral vision. "Carlisle was thinking on it after you left."
"Of course, he was" I muttered as Edward fully looked at me.
"Alec, I understand your misgivings about it. Even the partial blame but believe me when I say Bella would have been enthralled; curse be damned"
"You believe that she would have gone to such lengths without it," I asked skeptically as he nodded his head.
"Bella is many things, a burning need for justice and all. Besides fate and free will work together even without curses."
"You believe that solving this would be Bella's fate?"
"Seems that way, everything in her life has guided her to the book; guided her to you" He responded easily as I shook my head.
"and if she were to die as a consequence?" I bit out the words, remembering so many who lost their lives.
"That won't happen," He said darkly as I shook my head. "You can't guarantee that no one can. All those who were tempted have been burned or worse. They have all perished and the last thing I want is for Bella to be one of them." I said as I lower the jet, the coordinates becoming closer. "Jasper and Alice should have those answers though"
"I'm sure they will" He whispered as I started our descent into my home.
Racing through the fields, Xander took great care of hiding them; the weather was murky, cloudy. The condensation making it difficult to see but not impossible. Finding Xander's tracks were easy enough, the fool couldn't be any less conspicuous.
Being careful of our footsteps, I found the broken-down building in the corner of the marsh. Hastily done, as if I couldn't spot a shabby job when I saw one; the wood was already rotting and Xander was inside, monitoring something on a laptop. Perfect.
'Does he suspect us' I asked as Edward shook his head and I smiled. The fool wouldn't expect us then. Stopping him I had us duck low and I focused my attention on Xander. As much as I wanted him dead, he was useful, so for now, maybe a slight tap. Just to introduce ourselves.
Casting my gift, I saw my mist enter in all the cracks in the wood, surrounding him until he went stiff, with nothing but a gasp from him.
Giving a low chuckle, I signaled for Edward to run in and he found his family soon enough. Both were unconscious and I raised my eyebrows at the state of them. How was it possible for them to be asleep?
Bending over, it seems they were in a trance of some type, almost asleep. "How peculiar" I mumbled as Edward checked them over, making sure they weren't hurt. I smelled the air and noticed Bella wasn't here yet Xander had her scent. He was around her recently.
"Hmm" I hummed as I waltzed by Xander, his eyes following my movements and the fear in his eyes just made this somewhat bearable. Standing in front of him I grabbed the laptop and took an invoice of the pages he had open, shaking my head in disgust at some of the pages open.
Closing them out quickly, I found what I was looking for. Messages and interactions from a man named 'the guardian' and exchanges with Chelsea. Printing them out I quickly tucked the pages into my jacket and sent the remainder to Janie's secure email, trusting her she'll know what to do. Checking on Edward and his siblings he was slowly going into a panic.
"Edward" I hissed as he snapped his head up, his black eyes narrowing on Xander. "We have what we need," I said casually as I rested my hand against Xander's shoulder, his flinch making me smile.
"He thinks we're going to kill him" Edward whispered as Xander's eyes flew to Edward, widening at him. "Yes, I'm a mind reader you idiot" Edward hissed as Xander grew stiff.
"So now that you know you can't hide, why don't you tell us what you know Xander," I asked softly, slapping him hard on the shoulder as I lower my mist from his head, giving him the ability to speak.
"Fuck you!" He snarled as I shook my head, clicking my tongue.
"Now is that nice to say? Why don't I ask again" I said before turning swiftly and punching him as hard as I could, sending him flying back into Edward's waiting arms? The cracks forming immediately on his chin and specks fell to the ground as he howled in pain. Good.
"Fuck!" he screamed as he growled at me as I sauntered over, grabbing his damaged chin, and forcing him to look at me.
"Xander, you are smart enough to know that you are outnumbered. You must have some wit about you to serve under Master Caius. So, tell me, Xander, where is Bella Swan?" I asked, a little more harshly than I intended.
"Like I would tell you" He spit out as Edward concentrated before he became enraged and slammed him into the wall, growling lowly.
"They are somewhere underground, but he isn't sure. Chelsea has been sporadic with details; he was guarding Alice and Jasper. There's a substance to wake them up in that cabinet there" He instructed jutting his chin to the broken cabinet as Xander's eyes widened in alarm.
"Perfect, Edward would you wake up your siblings, please? I can handle Xander from here. I'm sure he won't be useful for long and I want to enjoy his death" I whispered lowly as he started to tremble.
Nodding his head, Edward grabbed both Alice and Jasper, along with a vial of an iridescent liquid, and disappeared out of the door, leaving me alone with Xander. Dropping him to the floor I still had my mist around him as I walked slowly around his still form, his eyes following my movements carefully.
"So Xander, did you think it was a smart move to align yourself with Chelsea? Did you think I wouldn't know of your dealings with not only an old friend but Bella as well?" I asked slowly, coming to stand still in front of him.
"It's not that you wouldn't find out, but if you found out in time" He smiled as he muttered the words.
"And what do you mean by that" I growled out, grabbing his collar as I glared at him while he smirked at me.
"It's not for me to tell, Chelsea has been very careful with the details that she gave me; all I needed to know is that I could have some sweet pussy if I wanted some, and I was going too until she sent me here." He grumbled as I controlled the rising growl in my chest.
"What do you know Xander" I leveled at him, wanting to end this sooner rather than later. "Who wanted Bella? I know it wasn't just Chelsea" I hissed as he faltered, and I knew I wasn't going to get anything more from the fool. "Why do I even bother asking" I muttered before dropping him and tearing his arm clean off. His scream vibrating on the walls.
"Wait, I'll tell you what I know!" He screamed as I looked back at him throwing his arm to the side.
"I'm listening," I said coolly as his eye shifted back and forth, nervously. "Chelsea has her in the old caves, but they were going to trap her. They wanted to know where a book was but that's all! I swear!" He panicked as I smiled and patted his shoulder.
"Thank you for the information Xander" Before I tore off his head and tossed it to the side. Poor bastard didn't even have time to scream. I shook my head in disappointment. As much as I wanted to make him pay, he wasn't what I'm after, just a distraction that I couldn't afford.
As I grabbed the lighter from my pocket, I knew it was best to burn the whole place down. I would be doing it a favor, its seen better days, and at least the land can be sold, hell maybe I could purchase it; it was a shame for it to have overgrown like this. Regardless, what had to be done will be done and with a final glance, I threw the light onto what was left of the bastard, igniting almost instantly.
As I jumped to the ground, I saw Alice helping Jasper to his feet as Edward gave me a thumbs up. "They're okay but Jasper has a location on Bella"
"I don't know how they did that, it was so fast" Alice explained as Jasper was examining the bottle. The last of the liquid was on the bottom and he pocketed it as he turned to me.
"Whatever this is, I need to sample it; maybe give it to Bella so she can replicate it. This is too dangerous in the wrong hands." He said quietly as I nodded.
"She's in the old caves; it's about a hundred miles from here; close to the palace," I instructed as Alice shook her head.
"No, not anymore. I see her running but then everything goes black. It's like she disappears." Alice whispered her eyes glazing over; looking for any clue as to where she is.
"I have her scent I can track her from here," I said as she shook her head once more; her moves frantic.
"No, I don't think you can. I can't see her; I don't see her anywhere! It's like she's gone!" She whispered right before my phone rang, the shrill sound breaking the tense silence.
Worried I picked up and seeing the familiar number I quickly responded "Jane? Jane what is it, what's wrong?"
As I heard Jane's deep breaths and broken voice she muttered "Alec…. I'm so, so sorry, we had no idea. Alec…Bella is dead"
Ashes, ashes, time to go down
Ooh, honey do you want me now?
Can't take it anymore,
need to put you to bed
Sing you a lullaby where you die at the end
