Chapter 38 enjoy
Natsu suddenly wakes up. His mouth is dry, telling him he's thirsty.
He checks Ultear. She's fast asleep before carefully stepping out of bed and getting a badly needed drink of water.
But just before he gets back into bed, he checks on Leo. The now six months ago baby is sleeping peacefully, snuggling up to Happy.
He takes moments to sniff carefully, knowing happy scent can fuse with Leo sometimes.
To his joy, he doesn't smell pee or poop, bringing a smile to his face.
Then he hears movement from the crib, looking once more. It's Happy, with a smile on his face.
He was drooling, and that only meant one thing. He's dreaming about fish again.
With one final yawn, he calls it a night. Getting back into bed, Ultear huddles closer to him.
When morning finally came, Ultear went to work cleaning up Leo finishing off with a clean diaper.
He gladly got his breakfast for the day countless times before she offered him her breast.
When Natsu came to check on them, he felt a tinge of jealousy toward his son.
Seeing the look in Natsu's eye, Ultear teased him a little.
"I have another breast. Want a taste?" She said, smirking.
Natsu's face went bright red before bolting to the other room, presumably to check on Happy.
Ultear didn't even try to hide her giggle. Leo stopped to look where his dad went before returning to his meal.
Like every day, they walk to the guild with Leo holding on to Happy as he sits in his stroller.
Happy didn't mind since he practically overnight became Leo's best friend.
Later that day, Macao called Natsu over.
"What is it?"
"I got a special request from the council, your eyes only'" he hands him an envelope addressed to Natsu.
Sitting down at a nearby table, he opens the envelope pulling out a letter.
He reads it silently before rereading it, ensuring he understands the content.
He lets out a sigh before walking over to Ultear. He kisses her and Leo goodbye before heading off with Happy on his shoulder.
He pulls out Loki's key, summoning him to their world.
"What is it, master?"
"Happy and I are going to be gone for a few days. Look after them like when Cobra, Alzack, and I do a job together."
"No problem, master."
"I'll be back shortly!" Natsu and Happy pass through the guild doors.
The zodiac leader walks over, kneeling to say hi to Leo before handing him a new toy from the celestial world.
"Ultear, do you, Kinana, and Bisca need anything?" He handed her a few more toys for the other three Little ones.
"Besides the essentials for babies, nothing at the moment" she hands him a wad of jewels to go shopping.
As Loki walked toward the store, he was reminded of when he got demoted.
He went from armed combatant to his current role as a gofer, thanks to the infants.
It stunk as first being more of a hindrance than a benefit to Natsu regarding combat.
But he's content helping look After Leo and the others.
After close to an hour, he returned to see the four babies sleeping peacefully with their mothers on guard.
He looks around the guild to see Wendy sitting next to Charon with her teammates at the Adjacent table.
The two are deep in conversation, no doubt wanting to get to know each other since their mates.
It reminded him of the first few months of this new timeline of Natsu picking Ultear's brains.
He wanted to know everything about her not having the chance in the old timeline.
Looking at Sting and Rogue with their respective exceed and Carla bord out of their minds.
He knows they are truly happy for Wendy and Charon, but he can see an itch for battle in Sting's eyes.
He can't help but chuckle at this, walking over and taking a seat beside them.
"Hi, Loki," Sting said, followed by Rogue and the others.
"I see you guys bored waiting on Wendy."
"Yeah, she been at it for hours, wanting to know about his past. She has to be done by now." Loki didn't try to hide his chuckle.
"What's so funny?" This time it's Rogue to ask.
"I've been around for a long time, my friends, besides death and taxes. the only certain thing is women's ability to go on and on while talking." They were so caught up talking with Loki they didn't notice Wendy's silence.
Checking in here real quick, they see the girl sleeping, no doubt after a long conversation with Charon.
The part that warmed their heart was Charon letting Wendy use his shoulder as a pillow.
The boy blushed to match everyone's reaction as many struggled to hold in their laughter.
One of the guild news members was fighting the urge to make a joke about Wendy and Charon.
Lucien wanted to make a joke badly but decided against it feeling a murderous aura from Laki beside him.
She had been on his case since day one when he joined fairy tail, ensuring he behaved.
And to make matters worse for the shadow devil slayer, she even went with him on the job to not sully fairy tail's name.
Right now, he's looking at the job board, seeing if any catch his eye. The only one sounds like fun is hunting down some bandits.
"This one sounds good, Laki?" He handed the flier to her.
She quickly noticed the reward was 50,000 jewel, "sure rent due next week!"
Meet you at the train station in half an hour?"
"See you then," she said, heading home to get the stuff.
Macao is going through the never-ending paperwork that comes with being a guild master.
Thankfully he has Enno there to help lift his spirits while Romeo is off learning magic.
When she isn't helping him out, she's operating the bar alongside Kinana.
The three mothers help take turns when they can. Help lighten the mental burden.
She takes a chance walking by the babies, not getting enough of the little ones.
It was at this time Leo, being the oldest, opened his eyes. Ultear goes to check on him, but Ur stops him.
"Just wait, honey, and you'll see!"
He tries to wipe the sleep from his eyes before going through the motions of sitting up.
Everyone present was Watching him like a hawk. Eventually, after enough time, he managed to sit up on his own, looking around him.
Then his eyes landed on his mother. He reached out for her before his head started to twitch.
Suddenly he let out a loud sneeze before farting, putting him on higher alert and turning his head around.
This causes everyone to chuckle before Ultear picks him up to ensure he doesn't drop a payload with that fart.
Fortunately, it wasn't poop but pee; his diaper was changed like a pro.
The remaining three also started waking up before changing their diapers.
With a fresh diaper, Ultear reluctantly places him on the ground with all the toys.
Leo's eyes locked on a new toy. The toy in question is a baby rattle.
With a firm grip for his age, he started shaking it, making a loud noise.
He continued this for a few minutes before spotting another toy.
This one is a series of building blocks. He bashes his rattler against them, making even more noise.
Eventually, he got bored, throwing the rattler away from him before he started pouting.
Ultear quickly checks his diaper only to see him grab at her breast.
"Somebody's hungry.
Kinana and Bisca joined her, giving the kid breast milk and baby food.
The breast milk was easy. The hard part was getting them to eat their food without making a mess.
Leo and Asura weren't having it, trying to swat the spoons away as they glared at their moms.
The respective mothers match their gaze, scaring them a little.
It was enough to get their complaints.
The four kids started rubbing their eyes, telling everyone they were sleeping after a much-needed meal.
The three mothers decided to use this chance to take a quick nap themselves.
They quickly took over nearby booths, using each other as support.
Alzack took this time to watch over the kids. He took turns with Cobra since Natsu was away.
After half an hour on the Road, Happy had to ask. "So what's the job Natsu?"
"Simple protection Job"
"There has to be more to it!"
"All the client's previous bodyguards nearly failed on multiple occasions."
"These are weak bodyguards, or the client considers close calls a failure."
"I suspect he assumes having a wizard saint as his protector will stop any kidnappers before even starting their plan!" Happy nods from Natsu's reasoning.
"This brings back memories of the old timeline of just the two of us against the world, right Natsu."
"You can say that again, buddy." as he went down memory lane, he remembered the day he first met Ultear before he crossed paths with her on galuna island.
Flashback start
Natsu and Happy are returning to fairy tail from another job.
Unfortunately, they had to pass through Era to make the trip as quick as possible.
He was halfway through the city before he felt someone grab his shoulder.
He turns around to see a member who goes by the name Org.
"Natsu! just the person I wanted to see!" Natsu plus happy took a nervous gulp.
"What is it you need?" He asked.
"This is neither the time nor the place Natsu. Follow me, please." Natsu reluctantly followed him into the era building.
Even a simple-minded man understands why a council member demands his attention.
They stood outside the council room doors at Org's orders, "I'll call you in when everyone is ready."
"I'm going to get me fish, Natsu."
"Don't take too long, Happy."
As he sits there waiting, he hears footsteps coming down the hall. When the source finally turned the corner, he was star-struck at the woman before him.
She has a figure that rivals Mira with long raven-colored hair.
When she was a few steps away, she finally noticed him. They locked eyes only for both to share a glimmer.
They stayed like that for a few moments looking into each other eyes before Natsu managed to get his wits together.
"Hello, I'm Natsu Dragneel. You probably already know that, thanks to my hair!" He said with a smile as he held his hand out.
She reluctantly took it "the name Ultear Milkovich" she internally berated herself for giving him her full name.
All those years of Hade's guidance on withholding information are failing now.
Usually, this isn't a problem, but there is something about this man before her.
And no matter how hard she tried, she struggled to stop the smile she was giving.
Before they could continue, they both heard footsteps. Looking at the source, it was another member of the council.
Natsu can't remember his name, but he's the same height as gramps and is his dear friend.
"Ultear, we have a Disciplinary hearing to attend to," he says, looking at Natsu, who looks away, getting a chuckle from magic council members.
It took nearly an hour, but Natsu was free to go after a massive ear full from the council.
He silently knows his guild causes a lot of destruction; believe it or not, he's trying to keep it to a minimum.
As he leaves the room, he sees Happy waiting on a bench, eating a fish.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, Happy."
"No worries, Natsu, we must get back to the guild quickly!"
Before they leave, Natsu turns around and gets a glimpse of Ultear before heading off.
As she watches the dragon slayer leave, one thought comes to Ultears mind.
"Natsu Dragneel, huh" placing her hand on her heart, she could feel her heart racing just at the thought of him before a small smile graced her face.
Flashback end
Not long after that day, he realized Ultear was his mate. After that, he occasionally took a job through Era to see her again.
He managed to sneak a couple of glimpses of her, and to his joy, she smiled back and waved a few times.
And thanks to his enhanced sense of smell, he caught her scent a few times outside of Era.
When he recognized her scent on galuna island, he purposely went easy on her to see how skilled she was in battle.
He was impressed with her skill, even if she held back.
He can only assume their chance encounter pushed her to fix the demon village.
Then his mind goes over being frozen in time. He can only imagine the pain she went through for seven years.
They reached their destination, a small town on the coast with a great view of the ocean.
The job would take at least a week to complete, and by then, more permanent protection should be squared away.
With Happy sitting on his shoulder, they stand before the client.
The man in question is about the same age as Natsu. Going off his body language, he's brash and arrogant.
"Was I like that in the old timeline?"
"YES!" Igneel and E.N.D said in unison, causing Natsu to cringe internally.
One week later
The job went off without a hitch. His status as a wizard saint ironically drew out the enemy wanting to prove themselves.
The two of them made over a million jewel. But, of course, it is hard to tell how long it will last in an infant son.
This reminded Natsu of responsibility besides being a parent. One of them is about the all-demon guild Tartarus.
"No point in pushing off the inevitable, but want to wait till Leo is old enough to need a babysitter. What do you think?"
"Agreed," Igneel and E.N.D said in unison.
"Good!"
Through sheer coincidence, Natsu and Happy ran into Lucien and Laki.
Natsu is walking around the corner of the trail back to Magnolia when he hears a noise from a distance.
"This can't be good, Happy. Can I get a lift?"
"Aye, sir!" With his wings wide open, he carries Natsu off.
When they reach their destination is an old fort when. Suddenly part of it explodes, releasing large dark purple magic.
"Look like we ran into Lucian and Laki Happy."
"Aye, sir," he said before taking Natsu to the ground.
Just as they landed, they heard another loud boom followed up by yelling"
"Laki, calm down! Destroying their base and having a round-up is enough!" Lucian shouted, causing Natsu and Happy to sweat drops having a good idea of what set off Laki.
They race inside to see a bandit tied up watching, and Lucian and Laki are in a brawl.
Lucien repeatedly tells her to calm down, and Laki tells him to shut up. Finally, she goes after a bandit only to get pulled back by Lucian.
Not wanting the destruction to get any worse, he was forced to step in.
He jumps into the dust cloud they're created as Happy keeps a watchful eye on the bandit.
When the dust settled, Natsu locked her arm while Lucian held her leg. She was trying her hardest to break free.
"Calm down, Laki. The job is done!" He shouts.
"Natsu, let me go right now. Those bandits need to be punished for their Pervy behavior!"
"We understand, Laki, but they're tied up, ready to be handed over to the runes knight. If we cause any more harm, you could get in serious trouble with the council. I'm not risking my hide for your vendetta!" Natsu shouts.
This only infuriates her even more. Not wanting to deal with this much longer, he promptly bonks her on the head, knocking her out cold.
Everyone present sighs in relief, knowing Laki will be out cold for a little while.
Natsu calls the rune knight to handle the criminals as Lucien puts restraints on Laki when she finally comes too.
Lucian hoists Laki as he walks with Natsu back to the guild hall.
When she finally came to see herself being carried on, Lucian's back piggyback style caused her to blush.
Then she sees Natsu and Happy walking beside them.
"Sorry about earlier," she said, getting their attention.
They gave her a skeptical look as she noticed her restraints.
"I'm serious!" Natsu lets out a sigh as he snaps his finger freeing her. Lucien crouches down so she can get off.
As soon as she stood tall, she felt an intimidating aura from Natsu and Lucian.
"Sorry for going overboard again, and thank you for stopping me from doing something I'll regret."
Sensing the sincerity in her tone, they let off on the aura before continuing home.
As soon as he returns, he sees Leo getting a diaper change from his mother.
Seeing his dad, he stretched his arms, reaching for him, spouting baby babble.
He takes his son into his arms, kissing him on his forehead as Leo rests his head on his father's neck.
A glance at Ultear tells him she is a little jealous of him since his high body temp is too hard for Leo to resist.
Natsu quickly put his left arm around her waist, pulling her close. Then Leo started rubbing his eyes.
"He hasn't had his nap yet!" She answered.
"Judging by how hard he is holding on, he wants me to keep him warm while Leo naps," he says, sitting down at the corner booth in the guildhall.
Ultear took her spot beside him wanting to take a nap herself and wasn't going to let the heat source called her husband leave her side.
"How was the trip home?" She has a good idea since Lucian and Laki were with him.
He recounted what happened at the bandit hideout, causing her to sweat drops at Laki going off the depths again.
This job marks the start of a new routine for Natsu Dragneel.
With Happy by his side, Natsu did quests while Ultear took care of Leo while he was away.
He made sure they only lasted three days and stayed with her and Leo for four days, rinse and repeat.
Before long, three months have passed, making all four infants nine months old.
Around this time, all four switched to the formula since the mom couldn't keep up with the demand.
Ultear just put Leo to bed, taking her respective side of the bed as Natsu was deep in thought.
"What's going on?"
"I'm just thinking about when is a good time to take out Tartarus, preferably soon!"
"Yeah, after dealing with two more false demons the past month, I agree."
"Do you want to come with me, or should I go alone?"
"I'm coming!"
"Ok then, why?
"I've been cramped up in magnolia for too long, not that it was a bad thing taking care of Leo-"
"Ok, then you can come now. When will be a good time?"
"I say wait for Leo to be a year old. Then, I'll feel more comfortable leaving him with Bisca and Alzack to babysit.
"Don't forget Wendy and Meredy. They have been watching over the four Like a hawk."
"That makes me feel a lot better now that you mentioned it,"
"But before we deal with them, we should tell the guild about this first," he pointed to the E.N.D brand mark on his chest.
Ultear didn't respond immediately, taking time to formulate a response.
"Are you sure about this?"
"They're gonna find out sooner or later, and it should make them feel better about dealing with Tartarus alone."
"Well, whatever you decide, I'll support you!"
"Thanks, Ultear" he kisses her goodnight before going to sleep.
Three months later, Natsu called a guild-wide meeting. Thankfully every member was able to make it.
"Oh, Natsu, you have everyone here now. What's the announcement?" Macao said, having an idea why he called this meeting.
He wasn't alone but had no idea how wrong they would be.
Moments later, the whites of his eyes turned pitch black. His iris turned crimson red.
Everyone felt unimaginable fear over them before his eyes went back to normal.
He kept his speech about that power and his connections short and to the point, leaving the guild in complete silence.
"Any questions?" He asked, getting raised hands. Romeo is the first to have his hand up.
"Romeo, you first."
"Why tell us now?" Romeo asked.
"Because the black wizard Zeref…is my older brother" all he got was silence.
Natsu gave them a brief explanation of his connection to Zeref. His first death revival and the five dragon slayers are coming to the future. However, he made sure not to mention coming back in time.
They waited with bated breath wanting to know more.
"What do you know about Tartarus?"
"They're one of the three guilds that make up the balam alliance," Macao states, not liking where this is going.
"Tartarus is a guild made, as far as I know, entirely of Zeref's demon. They terrorize the earthland for too long. So me, Ultear, and Lucien will leave soon to deal with them."
Another wave of silence washes over the guild, and Gildart stands up.
"Not doubting your skill, Natsu, Ultear, and Lucien but are you sure you're up for this?"
"Positively, if you want to come, that's fine. We'll need someone to ensure nothing usable is left!" This gets chuckles from everyone and an annoyed look from the crash mage.
"Girls mind watching Leo while we're gone?"
The two mothers, plus Meredy and Wendy, shouted yes.
"I'll stay here. I'm more likely to be a hindrance if I go."
"You just want to spend more time with your grandson!" Gildart teases, getting a smack from the advanced Ice mage, getting more chuckled.
"Coming from the man who tells Leo you're his grandpa!" She said, smirking, causing the crash mage to blush.
Everyone chuckled at this. The parents of Leo traded glances at this.
Edolas
The members of Edolas fairy tail and a few others are waiting patiently for news from the doctors.
The former leviathan, now Mrs. Dragion, is in labor with her husband by her side, giving life to their son.
After one final push, she screams to match and doesn't forget crushing her husband's hand.
Their first child is brought into the world of Edolas.
The doctors went to work doing standard procedures when a mother finally gave birth to her first child.
They wrapped the child in a warm blanket before carefully handing him to the new mother.
She held her son close, and her face was inches away from him. Dragion sat beside her with a smile of his own.
Getting closer to the boy reveals he looks like his father with his mother's raven-colored hair.
He opens his little eyes to reveal emerald green ones as he gazes at his mother, then his father, then back to his mother with a tiny grin.
"Hello, Leo Dragion!" His mother said before lightly kissing him on his forehead. He smiled from the show of affection.
Sorry about taking so long to update, but it's a combination of writer's block and me overthinking things
