Chapter 22
Practical Exam
The Practical Exams started. Freya joined Uraraka and Izuku to watch from the viewing room after talking with Jiro and Koda of a plan after Kirishima and Seto lost to Cementoss. The exams were going well. Tsu and Tokoyami beat Ectoplasm. Iida and Ojiro won against Powerloader. Freya was impressed with Todoroki and Yaoyorozu as they beat her father in their exam. Uraraka and Aoyama beat thirteen and Mina and Kaminari lost to Nezu. Freya then headed out to meet her team to do their practical.
The door opened to the viewing room. Izuku, Tsu, Iida, Yaoyorozu, and Uraraka turned to see Bakugo enter.
"Hey Kacchan. Should we.." Izuku started.
"I didn't come to talk you damn nerd. I want to see Freya's practical." Bakugo growled. Izuku gulped as Bakugo joined them. Recovery Girl shook her head.
'He will never learn.' Recovery Girl thought. An alarm sounded.
"Team Koda, Aizawa, and Jiro. Practical exam. Ready, go!" The Speaker said.
Freya, Jiro, Koda were in the middle of a forest like exam area.
"Let's avoid combat with Present Mic if possible and head straight for the escape gate." Freya said. Jiro nodded.
"Freya. If he gets to the escape gate you can use your erase quirk to stop him." Jiro said. Freya nodded. "Sound good?" Koda nodded.
"Then let's go." Freya said. The three start moving towards the escape gate. Present Mic stood at the Escape Gate, looking bored.
"Come on, let's hurry up and finish this set. Some people have arbor ardor, but I'm much more of a city kitty, ya dig?" Present Mic said. He took a deep breath and let out a yell. Freya heard it coming and her hands glowed. The Forcefield went up around the three but the sound waves hit it with such force it shattered.
"Damnit." Freya said as she put her hands over her ears. Koda and Jiro were doing the same.
"It's so loud!" Jiro said. Freya pulled her hands away from her ears.
"Koda. You can control animals with your Quirk, can't you?" Freya asked, looking at Koda. Koda nodded. "Okay, get some birds to attack him or something." Koda shook his head and hands and started signing
'Even if I wanted to orderder them to do that, Present Mic's voice will make the animals run away!' Koda signed. Jiro and Freya gritted their teeth.
"His shouts make me feel like my eardrums are gonna burst." Jiro said.
"My forcefield won't be much help. And I can't erase his quirk less I see his body." Freya said. The trio started running. "There's no way we can get close to him. And even if we could so Freya could use her Quirk, he'd probably see us coming."
"He's probably standing at the gate waiting for us." Freya said.
"I wouldn't doubt it." Jiro said. Present Mic stood whistling at the gate.
"Hurry up and." Present Mic said. Jiro, Freya, and Koda covered their ears as another sound wave came through. "COME OUT!"
"My ears!" Jiro said. Freya's ears were ringing.
"I'm getting bored!" Present mic sent more sound waves.
"Damnit, uncle. Your having to much fun." Freya growled.
"I don't think I can take it anymore." Jiro said. The sound waves stopped.
"Hurry up already!" Present Mic yelled as he send more sound waves. Freya was leaning against the rock as she kept her hands to her ears.
"Anhy more of this and we might go deaf." Freya said.
"So, what now?" Jiro said. Jiro saw an ant on the rock. "An ant?" Freya gasped.
"Hey, Koda! You control bugs and stuff, right?" Freya said. She held up the ant for Koda. "Look at this! An ally!" Koda suddenly goes pale and screams. Freya and Jiro share looks. Freya moved her hand closer and Koda runs away screaming. "Oh for heavens sake. Your afraid of inscects!"
"There you are!" Present Mic yelled. Freya put her hands up to her ears and Jiro did the same.
"Jiro. Use your quirk and try and rebound them." Freya called. Jiro stood up and her earphone jacks start going back to to the holes in her boots.
"This won't help much, but I can try." Jiro said. She send soundwaves back towards where Present Mic was sending his soundwaves.
"Sounds like someone needs better subwoofers." Present Mic said. Jiro shook her head.
"You alright?" Freya asked.
"I'll be fine." Jiro said. Freya saw Koda leaning against the tree.
"Do you have a plan, Koda?" Freya asked. Koda shook his head. "What should we.." Freya gasped as more soundwaves came.
"Let's make some noise." Present Mic yelled. Freya swore he was having to much fun with this and they were running out of time.
"Koda! Just tell me if it's possible for you to control bugs or not, okay?" Freya asked. Koda puts a thumb up.
"Good!" Jiro said as she puts her earphone jacks to the rock. The rock explodes to reveal a ton of bugs underneath it. Koda screams. "Sorry, I know it's scary but..." Freya grunted in pain as more sound saves came, but stronger. "Our opponent is way to strong! This is the only thing Freya and I can think of!"
"Koda. If you can pull if off, we still have a chance to win this." Freya said. Koda looks at Freya and Jiro. "You can do it. You wanna be a hero, don't you?"
"If you do, then we gotta pass." Jiro said. Jiro's ear was bleading. Freya felt like her eardrums were going to explode. Koda gasped and then looked at the insects. Koda knelt on the ground and then bent down. Freya and Jiro gasped as he started shaking.
"Go on, tiny ones, hear my call, now is the time for you to take out the man who's responsible for all this terrible noise..." Koda said as his body trembled in fear.
"YOU CAN TALK?" Freya and Jiro shouted.
Present Mic was whistling as he tapped his foot impatiently.
"What's the deal? Are they going to run down the clock and hide out the whole time?" Present Mic asked. Cracking came and Present Mic looked down to see the ground cracking. Insects burst from the ground and started to crawl up him. Present Mic yelps. Freya, Jiro, and Koda ran to the escape gate as Present Mic screams. Freya laughed in delight as they found Present Mic laying on the ground, fainted from the fear.
Back in the oberserve room. Everyone looked sick.
"That's tough, even for a pro." Iida said.
"Wow, Koda. Harsh move." Izuku said. Bakugo shook his head.
"He let a few bugs beat him?" Recovery girl asked as Koda, Jiro, and Freya ran through the Escape Gate. Jiro and Freya jumped with happieness. They won the Practical.
"Team Koda, Aizawa, and Jiro have passed the exam!" The Announcer said.
"We did it!" Jiro and Freya yelled, hugging Koda. Koda blushed.
"Not bad, Brat." Bakugo said as he left the room. Jiro was brought to Recovery Girl for her ears and Freya got looked at. Freya's were fine, luckily.
"You'll have some ringing, but you'll be fine, sweetie." Recovery Girl said. Bakugo stood next to Freya.
"Thank you." Freya said. Freya got off the bed and Bakugo walked out with her.
"Your ears hurt?" Bakugo asked.
"They are ringing, but they don't feel like they are going to explode." Freya said. Bakugo pulled her into a hug.
"You and the extras did good. Now hopefully me and the nerd can win and we can go to the camp together." Bakugo said.
"Just try and listen to him and work together." Freya said. Bakugo huffed and looked away. Freya touched his face and turned him to look at her. "He usually has good plans and if you want to win, you might have to. So try. You don't have to get along, but work together to win." Bakugo sighed.
"I'll try, but no promises." Bakugo said as he kissed Freya's head as she hugged him.
The Practical exam continued. Bakugo disappeared after talking and making sure Freya was alright. Freya went back to watch the rest of the Exams, wanting to see Bakugo and Izuku's exam. Shoji and Hagakure passed against Snipe. Sero and Mineta won against Midnight, but Freya wondered if Sero passed cause he was passed out during most of it and Mineta had carried him out. And now it was time for Izuku and Bakugo vrs. All Might.
"You think this is going to end well?" Yaoyorozu asked Freya as they stood waiting.
"I don't know. He said he will try and work with Izuku, but them working together will be something to see." Freya said.
"So they might loose this." Iida said.
"I didn't say that. We just have to see." Freya said. Everyone nodded.
A buzzer goes off.
"Team Midoriya and Bakugo: Practical exam. Ready, go!" Announcer called. Bakugo was walking through the street. Izuku was running after him, trying to talk to him, but Bakugo was not hearing anything.
"To bad we can't hear what they are saying." Tsu said.
"He's not listening. And getting more angry with whatever Deku is saying." Uraraka said. Freya saw her friend was right.
'Come on, Katsuki.' Freya thought as Izuku stopped and then ran after Bakugo. Bakugo punched Deku. 'He's not gonna hear the end of this from me after this.' Freya rubbed her temples.
"Oh dear. There's absolutely no teamwork between those two. Don't they realize the trial ahead of them?" Recovery Girl asked.
"Izuku does. Katsuki. Not so much." Freya sighed. All Might stood by the Escape Gate. All Might raised his fists and pulled one back. Izuku and Bakugo were arguing as All Might punches forward and sends a gust of air, destroying most of the buildings and sending Izuku and Bakugo flying. The two get up.
"He destroyed the buildings." Tsu said.
"Damn." Freya said as All Might walked out of the smoke with a smile on his face. He stomps his foot and sends a gust of wind. All Might was saying something and Izuku looked scared. "Why do I get a feeling All Might is not going to hold back."
"I don't think he is. I don't think this fight is going to end well." Yaoyorozu said.
'Bakugo. Come on. Work with Deku.' Freya thought as Izuku took off running. All Might charges at the two. Bakugo lifts up his hand and uses a stun gernade. All Might blocked his face with his arms. Bakugo got behind him and tried another attack when All Might grabbed him by the face. Bakugo keeps his hand out in front of him and sends a wave of explosions. Freya gasped as All Might grabs Bakugo by the arm and slams him into the ground. All Might turns and then gets behind Izuku. Izuku looked scared, but he lights up where green lightning is dancing around him. He jumps in the air.
"Looks like Deku wants to run, while Bakugo wants to attack." Uraraka said.
"And All Might is not letting them." Freya said. Freya's eyes widen as Bakugo was heading in the air towards All Might and him and Izuku colide in midair. "Come on you two. Work together." Izuku and Bakugo hit the ground. Bakugo sits up, gasping for air. Freya hated this. She wished she could have been on their team, but she knew Bakugo wouldn't listen to her either. Bakugo gets up and starts heading for All Might. Izuku stood up to stop him, but Bakugo walks right by him. Izuku runs at him and puts a hand on his shoulder. Bakugo shoves him off.
"Where did All Might go?" Tsu asked. All Might jumps out of no where with a grate and lands on top of Izuku and pins him to the ground with the grate. All Might charges at Bakugo and Freya flinches as he punches Bakugo in the stomach and sends him flying into the ground. Bakugo wasn't moving.
"Damn. This fight is gonna be bad." Yaoyorozu said. Bakugo was struggling to get up as Izuku tried to get free from the grate. All Might was heading for Bakugo. All Might stood next to Bakugo, talking as Bakugo tried to get up. Bakugo looked at All Might and the two looked like they were staring each other down. All Might got ready to punch Bakugo. Izuku broke free from the grate and flew at Bakugo. Freya gasped as Izuku punched Bakugo in the face, sending him away from All Might.
"Well that's a twist." Tsu said as Freya had her hands to her mouth. Bakugo went flying and hit the ground. Izuku picked him up and went running away with Bakugo. All Might went looking for the two.
"They'll be fine, Freya. Don't need to fret." Iida said as they didn't seem to show up on the camera.
"I know, but I still have to worry. If All Might isn't holding back, the two are gonna get injured." Freya said.
"She's right." Uraraka said.
"That's why I'm here." Recovery Girl reminded them as All Might ran, looking for his two sudents. Bakugo burst from an alleyway. Freya's eyes widened. Bakugo was missing one of his gauntlets as he came out. Bakugo sends an explosion at All Might. He kept sending explosions. He yelled out and Freya read him yelling for Izuku. Izuku came out behind All Might and he ad the other gauntlet. Freya smiled. They figurred something out.
'I'm proud of you both.' Freya thought. Bakugo shot in the air as Izuku took aim. Izuku sent a huge explosion.
"YES!" Freya jumped with excitement as the others stared in shock. Bakugo and Izuku take off running towards the Escape Gate.
"They are starting to work with each other?" Iida said in shock.
"They both have one drive." Everyone looked at Freya. "They both want to win this. Bakugo may not like it but he now realizes there's no way for him just to win and that he has to work with Izuku to win." Recovery Girl nodded. Freya was smiling.
'You got this.' Freya thought as the two neared the gate. All Might caught up and got between the two, causing the two to gasp. All Might destroyed the gauntlets before the two could attack him. Freya gasped as All Might kneed Bakugo and sent him flying into a building. Izuku ran to help, but All Might grabbed his arm. Bakugo burst from the building, pissed off. All Might knocks Bakugo out of the air with Izuku. Freya and Uraraka were hugging each other as they watched in horror. All Might held Izuku up by his arm and had his foot on Bakugo's back. Izuku was struggling to get free from All Might. All Might sends Izuku flying. Izuku hits the ground. Bakugo turned his hand over and a huge explosion ripped through the city. All Might goes flying and Bakugo stands up. He grabs Izuku. Bakugo gets ready and uses an explosion to send Izuku flying towards the Escape Gate.
"Looks like they will win this?" Tsu asked. Freya cries out as All Might flies out of the air, backwards and colides with Izuku in the air. Bakugo goes flying after them as Izuku screams in pain and hits a bus. Freya saw Bakugo struggling with explosions.
'He doesn't have his gauntlents where he can use maximum power with no risks. I hope he doesn't damage those arms.' Freya thought as Bakugo took aim. Bakugo sends an explosion at All Might. Bakugo was cringing in the air. 'Damnit Bakugo. Don't hurt yourself more.' Freya saw him clutching his arms in pain. Izuku goes to get up and flinches.
"Their both hurt!" Freya said.
"They need to end this fight fast before they get damaged worse." Iida said. Bakugo lands on the ground and charges at All Might as All Might headed his way. Another huge explosion comes. Izuku headed for the gate. All Might heads for Izuku and Bakugo gets in front of him before he could attack. Bakugo causes another explosion, but All Might grabs Bakugo by the head and slams him into the ground. Bakugo was hardly moving, but he grabs All Might's arm and the explosions were weak. Freya was nearly in tears, watching this fight, worried for her boyfriend and best friend. Bakugo even bit All Might's hand trying to stop him. Izuku lit up green and charges at All Might. He punches All Might in the face. Izuku grabs Bakugo and runs for the Escape Gate.
"Oh thank goodness." Freya said. All Might tries to get up and falls. They get through the gate and Freya sighs in relief. Freya, Tsu, and Uraraka hug at the win.
"Team Midoriya and Bakugo have passed the exam. All matches for the practical portion of Class 1-A's final have now been completed." The Announcer said.
At the main building. Recovery Girl was looking the boys over and Freya and All Might were in the room. Freya was sitting on Bakugo's bed, holding his hand. She hated seeing him like this. He had been unconsious since he got there. Recovery Girl let her come with and was allowed to stay. Recovery Girl kissed Izuku to heal him.
"Thank you very much Recovery Girl, I think I Feel better." Izuku said.
"Just get some rest, Deku." Freya said. Recovery Girl turned on All Might.
"All Might, you really don't know how to hold back." Recovery Girl said. She started hitting All Might with her cane. "If you'd hit these boys any harder, they'd have permanent damage! Midoriya's back was horrible. I was barely able to heal it." Recovery Girl sighed as she looekd at Bakugo. Bakugo probably won't wake up for awhile. For now, the two of you should stay here and rest. Freya. You can stay with them."
"Thank you." Freya said. All Might was coughing.
"Yes, ma'am. Thanks again." Izuku said. All Might and Recovery Girl left. A knock came and Freya turned to see her Father standing there with her briefcase.
"Hey, Kid. Good job with the Practical. I'm proud of you." Aizawa said.
"Will Uncle Mic be alright?" Freya asked, coming up to him.
"He'll be fine. Just freaked him out with the insects. The boys alright?" Aizawa asked, looking at them.
"Recovery Girl says they will recover. Both are sleeping. I'm gonna stay with them." Freya said.
"That's fine." Aizawa said. He left and Freya changed into her uniform and pulled her book out of her bag as she grabbed a chair. The sun disappeared.
Bakugo woke up to a small light in the room. His arms hurt. He saw Izuku laying in a bed next to his.
"Katsuki?" Bakugo turned to see Freya putting down her book. She hugged him. "Your alright. I was worried when they brought you here unconscious. I'm glad you're alright."
"What time is it?" Bakugo asked.
"Almost Midnight. You two been out for a while. You alright?" Freya asked, running her fingers through his hair. It relaxed Bakugo when she did that and helped him calm his anger when him and his mom got into it when she was over. He lay on the couch with his head in Freya's lap and she run her fingers through his hair.
"My arms hurt, but I'm alright. Have you slept yet?" Bakugo asked. Freya shook her head.
"I wanted to make sure you both were okay." Freya said.
"Lay down, Brat. Your sleeping now. I feel like I'm gonna pass back out." Bakugo growled. Freya laid next to him. Bakugo flinched as he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her to his side. Freya laid her head on his chest. "Did we win?"
"Yes. Deku carried you out of the gate." Freya said.
"Damn nerd. But we're going to the training camp together." Bakugo said. Bakugo pressed a kiss to Freya's temple, happy to have her here with him.
"Yes. That's for sure." Freya said, snuggling closer to Bakugo. They both pass out.
AN: We got one more chapter and we will be in Season 3. I love where this story is going. There is gonna be a chapter I am adding in this. You'll see why when I get close to it. Till next time.
