"I'm sorry Zira but the king can't speak with you until after todays proceedings," Zazu told Zira.

"You don't understand I have an important matter to discuss with him," Zira replied.

"I am truly sorry but unless it's matter of life and death his majesty will listen to you after," Zazu responded.

"It is that important," Zira commanded.

"Forgive me, but I highly doubt that. Now if you would like I can recommend the king see you on a different day," Zazu replied firmly.

"I understand Zazu," Zira said trying to smile to hide her anger.

Zazu flew away from her den near pride rock.

"Mother what did he say?" Nuka asked.

"That stupid hornbill. He says I can't correct Simba about his place until after todays proceedings," Zira said.

"Well I guess there's nothing we can do," Nuka carelessly said.

"Oh yes there is. If it's the proceedings that is so important then it's there where I will talk to, Simba" Zira said looking down at Kovu who was sleeping beside Vitani.

Zazu was flying near Pride rock, back to where Simba, Kopa, Mbali, and Rafiki were. Until.

"Zazu!" Nala called from Pride Rock's peak.

"Yes your highness?" Zazu replied.

"Where is the king? The herd leaders are waiting anxiously," Nala said.

"The King just got a little side tracked with Prince Kopa, we all know how kids are everyone. Am I right?" Zazu joked as some in the crowd chuckled, but some were impatient.

"What's going on?" Nala whispered to him.

"I will let Simba tell you when he comes in a little bit," Zazu said.

Meanwhile in the fields just outside the pride lands, Simba waiting away from Rafiki and Mbali.

"Dad, will she be okay?" Kopa asked still concerned about his new friend.

"I'm sure she's fine Son. I'm just worried that your mother is having to keep the leaders occupied while I'm not there," Simba said.

"Congratulations your majesty. Mbali is doing well with her pregnancy," Rafiki said.

"Wait she's pregnant. So it's just pains?" Simba asked.

"Oh then that's why I beat her at a race. I know I can't out run a full grown cheetah," Kopa said.

"Yes she didn't even know that she was. It came as a shock to her," Rafiki said.

"Sorry your highness I didn't mean to scare you like that," Mbali said.

"I'm just glad your okay. Congrats on the expecting cub," Simba replied.

"Thank you your majesty, I think you have a meeting today don't you?" Mbali asked.

"Yes, Kopa thank Miss Mbali for the race," Simba said.

"Thanks for the race Miss Mbali," Kopa said.

"Your welcome, I've never raced royalty before. But next time I need to win," Mbali sassed.

"Your majesty what in the pride lands is taking so long?" Zazu asked.

"Zazu Miss Mbali is fine, she's just pregnant," Kopa excitedly said.

"Well good for her," Zazu dismissed.

Simba cleared his throat motioning that Zazu was being rude.

"My apologies Mbali. I will make sure you are compensated properly," Zazu said.

"What does that mean, Dad?" Kopa asked.

"It doesn't matter, Zazu is just mad that I'm not doing my duties of the king right now. Come on little one, we have to go. Climb on," Simba said crouching down for Kopa to climb on his back.

Simba dashed away to get to pride rock, as Zazu flew ahead of them.

When Simba arrived Nala was rambling with the story about how she found Simba. The animals surrounding Pride Rock bowed as they saw Simba and Kopa.

Simba climbed up as Nala glared at him not angered, but a bit annoyed.

"Thank you Queen Nala for giving me and Kopa time, forgive me leaders, I haven't had much daddy time," Simba said.

"We understand your highness," The giraffe leader said.

"Come on Kopa, your grandmother is going to watch you and the other little ones, this is going to take a while," Nala said gently guided Kopa away from sight of the other animals.

"Mom I actually beat a cheetah in a race today," Kopa said.

"Wow, well my little flash needs to get in the lair, I'll make sure you and I have cuddle time after, okay," Nala said.

"Come on, mom. I'm a big lion I don't need to cuddle," Kopa said.

"Oh is that right? Well Zazu told me it might storm tonight by the looks of the southern clouds moving this way," Nala said.

"On second thought it wouldn't hurt," Kopa said.

Kopa ran off to the lion guard lair where his grandmother and other cubs of pride rock were.

"Nala, there is no storm coming," Zazu said.

"I know Zazu. But I miss cuddling with my little boy," Nala said.

Kopa walked through the vines but there was no one inside the lair.

"Grandmother, where are you?" Kopa yelled.

"Looking for someone child," Zira said appearing from the corner of the lair.

"Oh Zira, it's just you. Sorry I thought my grandmother was in here," Kopa said.

"I see. But she isn't, but you're here," Zira said as two other lionesses came from behind Kopa.

"Hey. I can go find her," Kopa said as the two lionesses wouldn't let him go.

"Zira, let me go. You know my dad will find out about this," Kopa angrily said.

"Oh I know. As far as Simba goes, he won't know about this until after the proceedings," Zira said.

Zira walked over to Nuka who was behind his mother.

"When I give the signal, kill him," Zira whispered to Nuka.

"Yes mother," Nuka replied.

"Lionesses when you hear the signal come to me," Zira said.

"Yes Zira," The older lioness said.

"Hey what is she talking about, what signal?" Kopa asked getting nervous but also mad.

"You'll find out with the rest of your family, child," Zira snarled at him.

Above on top of pride rock. Nala was sitting behind Simba as he gave his address and answered questions from the leaders. When out of the corner of her eye she saw Sarabi coming up to her.

Nala met her in the middle trying not to draw attention to her away from Simba.

"Sarabi what is it?" Nala asked.

"Zira volunteered to watch the cubs so I could watch my Son be king," Sarabi said.

"Okay? You know how I feel about her Sarabi," Nala said.

"I know. But remember, Scar just kept her around him. She didn't love him," Sarabi said.

"Well I guess your right, she did keep him away from us, well mostly," Nala said as her ears dropped a bit remembering some bad memories.

Sarabi placed her paw on Nala's to help console her. As Simba looked back to see Nala and Sarabi sitting next to each other supporting him.

Back in the lair. Zira was grooming Kovu to look his best as Vitani was playing with Kopa to distract him from the severity of what was going on.

"Come on princey, you that weak?" Vitani said.

Then Kopa jumped and tackled her pinning her underneath him.

"Nope, just wanted to let you have a few rounds," Kopa said.

"Lesson to you. Never let anyone win a fight," Vitani said.

"What do you mean Vitani. I've seen you lose a fight to Kovu," Kopa said.

Vitani looked over at Kovu who was being groomed by Zira.

"Yeah, we'll Kovu is different then me Kopa. He's mothers favorite," Vitani replied kinda of sad that she didn't get the same affection from Zira.

"Quite you two, mother is about to go out," Nuka said.

"Go out what do you mean?" Kopa asked wondering what he meant.

"You idiot Nuka. Come on Vitani, now you know what to do right Nuka?" Zira yelled.

"Yes mother," Nuka murmured feeling useless but remembering that he had the biggest job of them all.

Back outside Simba was just about to conclude the meeting.

"Now I would like to make a motion to give Mbali the cheetah now mother, rights to hunt the fields just outside the pride lands for her kindness toward me and my son," Simba said.

"But Sire, that's where we migrate each year," The Zebra leader exclaimed.

"Yes, but Cheetah's don't hunt Zebra's, Wildebeests or anything your size. I assure you that naming it Mbali fields, and giving it to her as a gift will not hinder your migration pattern," Simba said.

"I have a motion!" Zira yelled out as she proudly walked up onto the Little Rock next to Pride Rock's peak to speak.

"Zira! You were told to wait until after the proceedings," Simba sternly warned.

"Oh yes. But you see I have motion to remove you from Pride Rock, as you are not the true Lion King. My son Kovu is!" Zira yelled.

The crowd all looked to Simba for a response, but Simba's face scowled at Zira's outburst.

"Zira we've been over this, Scar was never the rightful king," Sarabi scoffed.

"Yes, but if your little brat of a cub then should've been king, don't you think my son should have a chance. He was hand chosen by Scar," Zira yelled.

"Listen I don't care if Scar choose that tree over there to be king. Simba is the king now and it will never be king as long as I'm alive!" The elephant leader Amanefu said.

"How dare you scoff at Scars name you giant fat roll," Zira yelled.

"That is enough Zira! Either you apologize to Amanefu or you will be banished from pride rock," Simba commanded.

"I was once queen of this rock! Since no one else would satisfy the king," Zira said looking at both Nala and Sarabi enraging Simba.

"Your making yourself seem foolish Zira. I don't want to hurt your cub, but your out of line," Simba said

"Am I?" Zira yelled as she lounged herself at Simba in fury.
