"Ugh...My head." Mario groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. As he tried to adjust to the lighting of the room, he looked around. He was in a bed in Peach's castle. Next to him were three more beds where his brother and friends were lying down.
Slowly, Luigi and the princesses each began to wake up. They all looked around at each other and their surroundings.
"W...We're in my castle?" Peach said as she rubbed her head.
"How did we get here? Weren't we in the Crystal Kingdom?" Daisy asked. Then, Toad entered the room, smiling.
"Oh thank goodness! You're all awake!" He said.
"Toad? What's going on?" Peach asked.
"Those Koopas knocked you guys out, but some of the Crystal Kingdom guards brought you all back here. You've been unconscious for five days!" The others gasped.
"Five days!? W-Wait a minute! What about Princess Krystal? Is she alright?" Luigi asked.
"Hello? Mario? Is anyone here?" They heard a voice call out. Toad walked towards the door and almost bumped into a familiar Toad girl.
"Melody! What are you doing here?" Peach asked. Melody ran towards them, looking terrified.
"Princess! Thank goodness you all are alright!" Melody said.
"Is everything ok?" Mario asked. Melody turned to him, her fear growing more.
"Th-The Koopas took over the Crystal Kingdom!" Melody exclaimed, making the plumbers and princesses gasp.
"What?! Where's Krystal?" Peach asked.
"They trapped her inside of a crystal before I left! Different guards and princes tried to stop them, but Bowser won. Not even Prince Sterling could save the kingdom." Melody explained. She then looked at Mario and Luigi.
"Princess Krystal asked me to find you guys. Please...Can you stop Bowser and his family?" She asked. Mario and Luigi looked at each other. They looked back at Melody and smiled.
"Of course we can!" Mario replied.
"We're coming too!" Daisy said.
"Are you guys sure you're ok to fight? You've been knocked out for a few days..." Toad said.
"I feel fine, Toad." Peach smiled.
"Me too!" Daisy replied. Mario and Luigi gave him a thumbs up.
"Well...Alright!"
Wendy and Ken were walking out of the mall, Ken carrying most of Wendy's bags. Ken struggled to carry all of the bags and almost dropped a few. He looked over at Wendy, who was only carrying a tiny bag, and glared at her.
"How did I end up going shopping with you?" He asked. Wendy ignored his question as she looked back at the mall.
"Daddy should've taken over this kingdom years ago! I love this place!" She grinned.
"Wendy! Can you please take a few of these?!" Ken yelled.
"Kenny, you and I were teamed up, remember?" Wendy said.
"Yeah, but that was for fighting! Not shopping!" Kenn replied. Wendy chuckled as they made their way to the castle. Ken dropped the bags, happy that he doesn't have to carry them.
"Ahem! That's supposed to go to my new room!" Wendy said. Ken rolled his eyes, grabbed the bags, and followed his cousin upstairs. Wendy opened the door to one of the bedrooms and walked inside. Ken dropped the bags and lied down on the bed, exhausted. Wendy rolled her eyes and decided to look out of the window.
She saw the citizens that were outside quickly heading back to their homes and others were nervously walking to the stores. Then, she saw a Koopa running towards the castle.
"Is that Larry?" She said. Ken slowly got off of the bed and walked next to Wendy. He raised an eyebrow as he looked out of the window with her.
"It is. What's he doing?" The two headed downstairs where they saw Larry, now inside, running through the hallway.
"Larry! What's going on?" Wendy asked.
"We got a problem!" Larry replied as he ran to the throne room. Confused, Ken and Wendy followed behind him.
The three arrived in the throne room where Clawdeen and Bowser were talking.
"Dad! Aunt Clawdeen!" Larry screamed.
"What's the matter, sweetheart?" Clawdeen asked as she watched Larry lean against the crystal they trapped the princess in. After catching his breath, Larry spoke again.
"I saw that Mushroom girl leaving the castle, so I decided to follow her." Larry began.
"Yeah and?" Wendy asked.
"She...She's in the Mushroom Kingdom! The Mario Bros are awake!" Larry said, making the others gasp.
"WHAT!?" Bowser exclaimed.
"A-Are they on their way?" Wendy asked.
"Yeah! The princesses are coming too!" Larry replied. Clawdeen quickly turned to her older brother.
"Bowser, I think we should get Clawdia and Langston here. I-I think with two more Koopas, we can stop them."
"Ok. Clawdia's going to be really mad when she finds out Peach is gonna be here.." Bowser said as he cringed.
