Chapter 40: Changes Part 1

Stark Tower

The day had been a grueling and relentless battle against the symbiote invasion that had engulfed New York for the last three weeks. The heroes and S.H.I.E.L.D. had formed a well-coordinated team to rescue as many civilians as possible, using the rooftop access to evacuate. This operation was their best chance to keep the infection contained.

Spider-Man, Spider-Cat, and Superman X formed one three-man cell; their duty focused on one city area to help evacuate from the rooftops. Silk, Spider-Velvet, and Super Storm operated in different sectors. At the same time, Luke Cage, Spinneret, and Firestar worked together in the streets, setting up air strikes against the symbiotes, blasting them to smithereens.

The work was unrelenting, with each rooftop serving as a lifeline for New York's beleaguered citizens. The heroes would swing or fly through the chaotic city, carrying civilians to safety. The threat of the symbiotes loomed over them like an ever-present nightmare.

Finally, at Stark Tower, a rare moment of respite allowed them to catch their breath, if only for a moment. The heroes gathered; exhaustion etched into their features. The hum of conversation filled the room as they discussed the progress and setbacks of the day. The high-tech surroundings of Stark Tower provided a stark contrast to the chaos outside.

However, the absence of Silver Sable and her elite mercenary unit, the Wild Pack, had Spider-Man concerned. He turned to Superman X, his voice edged with worry and frustration, "I still can't believe you let Silver Sable go after Venom, X? We can't afford to lose anyone right now."

Superman X, ever calm, met Spider-Man's gaze with a serious expression. "I did what I thought was best at the moment. She's a skilled mercenary; she knows what she's doing. She told me very specifically, and I quote, 'You cannot expect me to sit by twiddling my thumbs. If you want my help, you must let me go after Venom.'"

The tension in the room was palpable. Each member of the team understood the gravity of their situation. The symbiote invasion had pushed them to their limits, and the absence of a valuable ally only added to their worries.

"Still a dumb move on your part, X," Spidey says, pacing.

With her empathy and ability to diffuse tense situations, Firestar said, "We're all here to save the city. Let's not forget that. We'll figure out the situation with Silver Sable later, but our priority is protecting as many lives as possible."

However, X, with his comment, adds, "Sable isn't the only one we have to worry about either. We have to rescue our team, too."

That comment about rescuing their team draws the attention of Rogue, Forge, Firestar, Spider-Velvet, Spider-Cat, Spinneret, Luke Cage, and Silk. It left the group perplexed.

Spider-Man is the first to ask, "What do you mean we must rescue our team?"

Superman X reveals a troubling truth, his expression grave, "Have you noticed that neither Wolverine nor Storm is here?"

This revelation sends shock waves through the room while Super Storm's eyes are downcast; she was there when she witnessed her mother being captured by Venom. Her knuckles cracked; she would save her, but Rogue, Forge, and Firestar react quickly, their concern and determination evident.

Rogue inquired frantically, "Wait, whut happened tuh Ororo?

Superman X sighs, his voice heavy with the weight of the truth, "Venom took her and Wolverine. They've become part of his army, I'm assuming."

Firestar is incredulous. "No way! We need to rescue them!"

Superman X's reply is measured, and he reinforces the gravity of the situation. "We can't. We don't know where Venom is, and I instructed Sable to exercise extreme caution while pursuing our culprit. We also have to be careful of Cletus Kasady."

Spider-Man clenches his fists, his frustration and anger evident. "All the more reason why you, X, should not let her go in the first place. Has anyone been in contact with her?"

The doors swung open, revealing Silver Sable and her Wild Pack, who appeared worn, tired, and dirtied from their recent endeavors.

Superman X turns his attention to Sable, inquiring about their progress, "Did you find Venom?"

Sable growls in frustration, slumping into a chair with her men following suit. The state of her team and her own appearance suggest a challenging battle.

Superman X can't help but remark with a hint of sarcasm, "I take it that's a 'no.'"

Sable wearily explains their struggle. "We've been engaged with the symbiote horde, nasty little buggers. Nearly had me and my men."

The room is filled with a heavy silence as the heroes come to terms with their difficulties. Their teammates have fallen into the clutches of the symbiotes, and the battle against Venom and his army has become increasingly treacherous. The fight to save New York and their friends has reached a critical juncture, and the heroes are acutely aware of the dangers.

Spider-Man's frustration and concern are palpable as he turns to Superman X, seeking a solution to their predicament. "X, your name isn't Superman for no reason. Can't you do something?"

All eyes in the room now focus on Corey, their expectations resting heavily on his shoulders. Corey takes a moment to gather his thoughts, his expression thoughtful as he bites his lips.

"You're right. I CAN DO something about it. But with everyone so focused on the symbiote invasion, I didn't go after Storm because Ms. Marvel said she would take care of it." A growing unease permeates the room as they realize that something might have gone wrong with Carol's mission. Superman X's brows furrow as he continues, "However, now that I think about it, where is Carol?"

The doors open to Black Widow's entrance into the room, with information about Ms. Marvel's whereabouts catching the attention of the gathered heroes. Her words raise questions about the unexpected turn of events. "Ms. Marvel is on her way here to Stark Tower. Apparently, she went to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier first." She turns to Spider-Man, "I want to have a word with you in private."

Spider-Man reacts with a mix of exasperation and curiosity, wondering about the purpose of the upcoming conversation, "Oh, brother... I wonder what this could be about."

On the other hand, Superman X silently ponders the situation, finding it odd that Carol chose to visit the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, when the symbiote invasion in New York demanded their attention, did she not say she would rescue Storm? X had a bad feeling or maybe he was looking too much into this; whatever the case, maybe he'll ask Carol about it when she arrives.

Meanwhile, Super Storm takes a moment to engage Felicity privately. Her question reflects the growing concern about their actions potentially altering the timeline, "Are we changing anything, Felicity?"

Felicity furrows her brow as she gazes out the window, contemplating the unfolding events, "Despite Ultron, I don't know. Wolverine, getting captured as Symbiote Wolverine this early, should have happened at a church. Your mother, Storm, being captured as well is a new development that never happened before. So, in a sense, things are changing, Savannah."

Super Storm expresses her concern about Felicity's mother, Silk, whose whereabouts remain a mystery, "What about your mom?"

Felicity shrugs, her expression marked with uncertainty and worry, "I don't know where she's at, to be honest. And that worries me the most."

The room is fraught with unease and uncertainty as they grapple with the consequences of their actions in the face of the symbiote invasion. Ms. Marvel's impending arrival and the cryptic nature of the upcoming conversation only add to their growing list of concerns.

In a private room within Stark Tower, Black Widow's scrutiny focuses on Spider-Man and his distinctive black suit with this silver shine. Her eyes are sharp, and her questions are direct. The room is filled with tension as their conversation leaves questions lingering. The unique bond between Spider-Man and the symbiote suit is a topic of concern and intrigue for Widow as she states, "This black suit of yours... it is alive, yes?"

Spider-Man responds with a measure of confidence, though his tone is cautious; "So far as I know, it's a symbiote. It lives off me, but it also gives me additional powers."

Black Widow's frown deepens as she probes further. "Are you sure the relationship is simply symbiotic, not parasitic?"

Peter's reply carries a hint of exasperation, his frustration with the persistent questions evident. "If it was just a parasite, it would harm me, not give me additional strength or reflexes."

Despite his explanation, Black Widow remains unconvinced, her skepticism apparent, "Hmmm..."

This response stirs Spider-Man's defensiveness, and he crosses his arms, demanding clarity, "What?"

Black Widow plays it cool, maintaining her enigmatic demeanor, "Nothing. Just wondering what your plan is should you discover that this suit is not as beneficial as you think."

Peter's frustration intensifies, and he asserts his belief in the symbiote's nature, "It's not going to come to that, okay. I know how these things work." He emphasizes his point with conviction. "Let me repeat this: it won't come to that."

In the quiet aftermath of their exchange about the symbiote suit, Black Widow assesses Spider-Man with a scrutinizing gaze. Her words are delivered with a stern warning, "Whatever you say, but if that thing isn't as beneficial as you think it is, you're a** is going down."

Spider-Man responds with a nonchalant tone, "Duly noted."

Shifting gears, Black Widow moves on to the primary reason for seeking Spider-Man's attention, "In other news, I have an urgent mission for you."

Spider-Man, ever the wisecracker, raises an eyebrow. "Are you saying those other missions you assigned me to weren't?"

Black Widow retorts with a no-nonsense attitude, "I am saying that you will go at once to assist one of my combat teams that are being attacked by flying symbiotes!"

Spider-Man quickly identifies the potential culprit: "I see, a free trip to Vulture land."

Black Widow confirms the urgency of the situation, "You and your small team are my only available assets, so get there as fast as you can."

With a nod, Spider-Man acknowledges the mission, "I'll be there, even though you called me an asset." The weight of the impending task hangs in the air as he prepares to confront the aerial threat the symbiotes pose.

As Spider-Man returns to the other heroes' room, Symbian engages him in a peculiar conversation. The symbiote's words stir a realization in Spider-Man about someone he hasn't seen.

'You know, I haven't seen Felicia in a while.'

Spider-Man pauses, his thoughts momentarily diverted. He blinks a few times before mentally responding. 'Now that you mention it, I haven't seen Felicia either. The last I saw of her was a few days ago, give or take.'

The nanotech symbiote presses the issue further, 'No, I mean, haven't you noticed that she has been acting strange? Like distant, strange.'

Peter, reflecting on the recent chaotic events, realizes that Felicia's behavior might have escaped his notice amidst the ongoing crisis. Concerned, he rubs his head, "I should go find her later."

Acknowledging Felicia's possible distress weighs on Spider-Man as he contemplates addressing this newfound concern amid the symbiote invasion. The impending mission against the flying symbiotes might delay this personal matter, but a realization lingers in his mind. As Spider-Man navigates the complex thoughts and challenges presented by the symbiote situation, the voice of Symbian adds another layer to the internal struggle.

Symbian says mentally: 'So what are you going to do with past Felicity, who is at the Fortress of Corey, having a symbiote?'

Peter's jaw clenches at the thought, recognizing the gravity of the situation, 'I don't know... Felicity is my daughter, and I will not abandon her. I need to separate that symbiote from her, and I know it won't be easy.'

Symbian offers a suggestion that triggers Peter's defensive instincts, 'Perhaps you let me bond with the child. I can protect her after she is released.'

Peter rejects the idea adamantly, 'And give my only daughter a reason to be traumatized by an alien parasite? No thanks!'

Symbian, undeterred, makes a valid point about the inevitable revelation and the potential consequences. 'I take offense for being called a parasite, but given the circumstance, I'll let it side. You know it's the only way to protect her from future symbiote takeovers. You can't keep dodging the situation forever! Eventually, Lydia is going to find out. And when she does, what do you think she will do?'

Peter freezes at the realization. His fists tighten, acknowledging the weight of the responsibility he carries. The conversation continues, with Symbian pressing on how long it's been since Peter last checked on Felicity. On top of a symbiote invasion, he had to deal with the forced marriage proposal. Throwing his hands up in frustration, Spider-Man releases his pent-up emotions, slamming his fist against the wall. "Damn it all! Forget the mission! I'll let future Felicity handle it."

Symbian, ever vigilant, offers a caution, 'Be careful with this plan.'

Refocused on the immediate task, Spider-Man returns to Black Widow, who meets him with annoyance, "What do you want now, Spider-Man?"

Spider-Man, determined but conflicted, replies, "Change of plan. I have an issue that I need to take care of."

Black Widow raises an eyebrow, skeptical, "What could take more importance than the current situation with flying symbiotes?"

En route to the Fortress of Solitude, Corey flies through the skies with Spider-Man in tow, tucked inside of his cape as if he were grocery. Soon, the Fortress was on the horizon. Spider-Man, feeling a bit worse for wear, complains about the mode of travel, "Not the way I like to travel."

Superman X reassures him, "Relax, we are almost there."

As they approach the Fortress, Corey pauses in mid-flight, issuing instructions to Gam-Vil, "Gam-Vil, make sure Lydia is somewhere else in the Fortress. I don't want her to see the state of Felicity."

The intelligent A.I. responds," Of course, sir."

Corey follows up with another question about Felicity, "And speaking of which, how is our symbiote-possessed little girl?"

Gam-Vil provides an update. "Sleeping at the moment, sir. Krypto is still keeping watch and hasn't moved from his spot."

Corey inquires about Lydia's maid, "And Lydia's maid?"

Gam-Vil responds, "Exploring the Fortress to break the boredom."

Corey is concerned about any information being shared. "Has she mentioned anything to Lydia, Gam-Vil?"

Gam-Vil reassures him, "Negative, sir."

Superman X is satisfied, "Good. Let's keep it that way and keep them fed. What about Gayle Mary Jane sister?"

"She is currently taking a shower."

"Okay." He then turns to Spider-Man, shifting the focus back to their mission, "So, what's your plan to get that symbiote goop off your daughter?"

Spider-Man considers the options, "Well, I have been absorbing the symbiotes off of victims. Maybe I can do the same with Felicity, but it will require force, and I don't want to use force. Felicia will never forgive me if something happened to her."

Superman X notes, "Considering her reaction when she found out that her daughter had the symbiote thanks to soldier girl Carol Danvers..." Corey leaves the statement hanging as they reach the entrance. He places his hand on the scanner and lands gracefully at the doorway, allowing Spider-Man to step out of his cape.

Spider-Man is dropped off, and memories flood back. His mind flashes to Felicia's reaction when she discovers Felicity with a symbiote. Felicia fell to her knees in the quarantine area, tears threatening to fall, and screamed at Corey, "How can you have let this happen?!"

In response, Peter enraged, reared his fist and struck Corey across the face. However, the punch, meant to hurt, turned into a painful mistake. For his name's sake as Superman, Corey was invulnerable, and Peter felt the impact on something more complex than brick walls, clutching his hand and screaming in pain.

The tension from that moment still lingered, and Spider-Man mutters to himself, "Don't remind me."

As they enter the crystal Fortress of Solitude, the weight of the situation hangs in the air. Standing before the door leading to the computer room to a quarantine section, Peter takes a deep breath. "I wish Felicia was here to see this," he confesses.

Corey, offering support, places a hand on Peter's shoulder. "It's better this way, Peter. Who knows how she is going to react."

"Probably, but she is the mother of my child. It doesn't seem right that she is not here," Peter expresses, grappling with the absence of Felicia.

Corey emphasizes the importance of the task at hand. "Listen, a little girl in there needs her father."

Peter nods, steeling himself for what lies beyond the door to the computer room. "Right, let's do this."

As the door opened, Krypto turned his head, momentarily distracted from the symbiote-controlled Felicity behind the force field in the quarantine section. Krypto pants and rubs himself against Corey's leg, displaying his canine affection. Corey bends down to pet Krypto's head, praising the super-dog. Krypto barks happily but growls as soon as Spider-Man enters.

"Nice doggy, nice doggy," Spider-Man says, cautiously backing up.

Corey, sensing Krypto's discomfort, issues a warning. "Krypto..." The dog growls but ultimately yields to Corey's command, maintaining an alert stance as they proceed.

"I swear that dog hates me," Peter says with a tinge of frustration.

"Well, if you didn't have the symbiote on you, I think Krypto would be more welcoming towards you," Corey responds.

"I'm not going to get rid of my suit. I'm keeping it," Peter insists.

"Okay, you do you then, Peter," Corey says as they walk to the quarantine section of the computer room, where they see a sleeping Felicity controlled by a symbiote. The only thing is the girl doesn't have the symbiote physically on her.

"It would be cute if it wasn't deadly," Peter comments.

Understanding the gravity of the situation, Corey says, "We need to do this carefully. I'll deactivate the force field, and you try to absorb the symbiote or whatever you have to do. Remember, she's just a little girl in there."

Peter clenches his fists, nodding in agreement. "I know, I know. That's my daughter in there."

Corey approaches the control panel, his hands moving over the holographic interface. "Stay ready, Peter," He advises as the force field surrounding Felicity's quarantine section deactivates.

The room is eerily silent as the force field dissipates. Felicity lies there, seemingly peacefully asleep, innocent, and vulnerable. The symbiote that once plagued her is nowhere in sight.

Peter steps cautiously forward, his senses heightened. He stretches out his hands toward Felicity, attempting to sense any lingering presence of the symbiote. "Where are you hiding, little parasite?" He mutters.

Just then, Felicity is covered from head to toe by the symbiote and roars, lunging at Spider-Man.

Peter frowns, "Of course, it wasn't going to be easy." He braces himself for the inevitable struggle, determined to free his daughter from the grip of the symbiote. The room echoes with the sound of her roars and the sharp movements as they clash.

Conscious that he is facing his daughter, Spider-Man fights with the conflicting emotions of fatherly love and the necessity to subdue the symbiote's influence. Every dodge, every block, and every attempt to restrain Felicity is performed with considerable restraint. He is acutely aware that one wrong move could harm her, and this knowledge weighs heavily on him.

Their movements are a blur as they ricochet off the crystal walls, Spider-Man agilely evading Felicity's attacks while desperately trying to find an opening to get to the symbiote. Despite his enhanced strength and reflexes, he is careful not to exert too much force against his flesh and blood.

Corey, standing by, watches the intense struggle with a mix of concern and readiness. Krypto, ever-vigilant, barks anxiously in the background, sensing the tension in the room.

Spider-Man finally seizes an opportunity when Felicity loses balance after a particularly wild leap. He swiftly shoots a web around her, attempting to immobilize her without causing harm. The symbiote responds by enhancing Felicity's strength, causing her to break free with an enraged roar.

"Damn it, so close." Peter huffs

As the battle unfolds, Peter keeps reminding himself that this is Felicity, his newly discovered daughter. He fights not only against the physical struggle but also against the emotional turmoil within. Each move is calculated, and each strike is tempered as he desperately works to separate the symbiote from his beloved daughter while Corey stands ready to intervene if needed.

The room is a chaotic dance of emotions and physicality, a testament to the internal conflict Spider-Man faces in his mission to save Felicity from the clutches of the symbiote.

As the chaotic struggle with the symbiote-possessed Felicity unfolds, Peter's mind becomes a whirlwind of memories, some bitter, some sweet, all tied to Felicia Hardy. He can't help but reflect on the intricate dance they shared over the years, woven with threads of partnership, betrayal, and an unspoken understanding.

Felicia was a complex figure in his life, an ally in the criminal underworld when he first started as the Amazing Spider-Man, and later a confidante when she tried to leave that life behind. Felicia had an uncanny ability to be both a pillar of support and a thorn in his side, often all at once. Peter couldn't deny the chemistry they shared, a connection that seemed to transcend the masks they wore.

The love Felicia harbored for the masked vigilante, Spider-Man, was undeniable. It was a love for the enigma, the hero who swung through the city, rather than the man beneath the mask. This, in turn, created a tangled web of emotions for Peter. Felicia's affection for Spider-Man complicated their relationship, and though he tried to be the man she needed, he couldn't escape the allure of the masked crusader, and boy, did it hurt when she said, 'And I love you, Spider-Man!'

Their on-and-off relationship had its highs and lows. There were moments of genuine connection where Felicia seemed to be warming up to Peter Parker, the man behind the mask. Yet, just as quickly, doubts and the pull of her criminal inclinations would resurface, leaving Peter in a perpetual state of uncertainty, but the biggest slap to the face was her leaving to who knows where, not telling him that she was pregnant with their child.

Then came the tumultuous relationship with Mary Jane Watson, a love that ended abruptly due to her rejection of the Spider-Man persona. The split shattered Peter, leading him to encounters with Cindy Moon, an event that further complicated matters. In many ways, Cindy represented a new chapter in Peter's life, a chance to move beyond the tangled history with Felicia or M.J.

As Peter deftly evades another tendril attack from the symbiote-controlled Felicity, his mind is a battleground of emotions and memories. The recollection of that rooftop conversation with Felicia, where the revelation of their daughter's existence hung in the air, resurfaces like an unwelcome ghost.

In the memory, Felicia sits close to Peter, her head resting on his shoulder. The cityscape below them is a silent witness to a conversation laden with the weight of untold truths. Peter's shock and disbelief at the news are palpable, and Felicia, burdened by the weight of her secrets, tries to explain.

"Why did you keep this from me?" Peter's voice echoes in his memory, revealing the rawness of the emotions that surged within him.

Felicia's admission of fear, of being afraid of his reaction, hangs heavily in the air. The mention of Mary Jane adds another layer of complexity to the situation. Entangled in a relationship with Mary Jane at the time, Peter was unknowingly stepping into the intricate web of Felicia's emotions. The rooftop confession unveils Felicia's hesitations and reluctance to share the truth for fear of rejection. She bares her vulnerability, admitting that the specter of Mary Jane played a significant role in her decision to keep silent. Her painful realization of having "screwed up badly" emphasizes the complexity of her feelings for Peter.

As Peter continues to dodge attacks in the present, the echoes of his final words to Felicia reverberate in his mind. The conflict within him is not just about battling a symbiote; it's a struggle with the ghosts of his past relationships. His promise to take things slow with Cindy, the uncertainty of his commitment, and the lingering ties to Felicia intertwine, forming a complex emotional tapestry.

The rooftop conversation becomes a haunting backdrop to the present clash as Peter grapples with the symbiote and the unresolved emotions and choices that define his relationships.

In that critical moment, with Felicity snarling and the symbiote's tendrils reaching out like vengeful serpents, Spider-Man finds a well of strength within himself. He lands on the ground, head bowed under conflicting emotions, and prepares for Felicity's next strike.

As Felicity lunges at him, her symbiotic form a furious blur, and Corey moves instinctively to intervene. But Peter catches the symbiote's tendril in his hand without even lifting his gaze. Corey pauses, muttering, "What's going through your head, Peter?"

Felicity is upon him, a snarling force of nature, the symbiote's influence turning her into something akin to a rabid animal. Yet, Peter doesn't falter. His voice, firm and commanding, cuts through the chaotic air, "Enough."

He seizes his daughter, and with a strength both physical and emotional, he rips the symbiote away from her. The symbiote cries a tortured wail as it's forcibly separated from its host. Felicity collapses, freed from the malevolent influence, her body convulsing.

Corey quickly scoops Felicity's body and speeds her to sick bay while Peter holds the squirming symbiote in his hands, the very same substance that has caused so much turmoil in his life. He looks into its dark, viscous form, a silent determination in his eyes. "No more," he declares, as if drawing a line in the sand, signaling an end to the symbiote's insidious influence. The battle was won against a physical adversary but also against the intangible shadows of Peter's complicated past. Felicity is free from the symbiote's grasp. For a moment, the crystalline Fortress of Solitude bears witness to a resolute victory in the ongoing struggle between a hero and the darkness that seeks to consume.

"You, okay?" Corey asks.

Peter remains silent, grappling with the weight of what just transpired. He gazes down at the symbiote now absorbed into his own nano symbiote suit, the shifting alien substance dancing across its surface. A complex mix of emotions plays across his features — relief, concern, and a lingering sense of unresolved turmoil.

Corey, Superman X, stands there patiently, understanding the gravity of the situation. After ensuring Felicity is in the med bay, he returns to check on Peter, knowing that these moments are often as mentally taxing as they are physically challenging.

"You, okay?" Corey repeats, his voice carrying an undertone of empathy.

Peter takes a deep breath, finally looking up. "Yeah," he responds, the single word weighted with unspoken thoughts. "Just... dealing with it."

Corey nods in understanding. He understands the struggles that come with the responsibilities of being a hero of being a new parent. The intertwining complexities of personal and superhero life are a constant battle for both.

"I get it," Corey says, his tone soft. "If you ever need to talk, I'm here."

Peter offers a half-smile, appreciative of the sentiment. "Thanks, Corey. You know you, too, can open up, you know."

"I'm not much of a talker, and I don't want to," Corey says.

"Keeping it all inside isn't healthy," Peter replies.

"Like you're the one to talk. You don't understand what I endured in my own dimension." Corey says, "What I've seen is not pretty. Sometimes I wish I didn't have super photogenic memory."

Peter briefly studies Corey, recognizing the pain etched into his features. "I might not understand the specifics, but I get the weight. We've all got our baggage, whether from this dimension or another. Sometimes talking about it helps."

Corey sighs, a heavy exhale as if releasing some of the burden. "Maybe you're right. But I've learned to keep things to myself..."

Peter nods, understanding the sentiment. "We're not so different, you and I. We carry the world's weight on our shoulders, and sometimes it's hard to find someone who understands."

A brief pause lingers in the crystalline Fortress, the quiet acknowledgment of shared struggles.

"Let's focus on what we can do now," Corey suggests, shifting the conversation away from the darker corners of his memories. "Venom and this symbiote invasion. We've got a world to save."

Peter gives a wry smile. "Yeah, you're right. Let's save the world, defeating one symbiote at a time. But first, I need to check up on my daughter."

"Do you know where to go?" Corey asks.

"I've been here before, and I know it's right next to that room where we tore off the symbiote of M.J.'s sister Gayle," Peter responds.

Corey nods

Krypto growls at him as Peter leaves the room, making him sidestep the dog before leaving. Corey comes next to Krypto, petting his head, "Easy boy."

But the dog continued to bear its fangs, snarling and growling, staring at the location Peter had left. Corey shakes his head, petting the white canine to calm him down.

Peter walks alone and follows his memory through the crystalline corridors of the Fortress. The structure, though alien, has a certain familiarity now. He walks purposefully, weaving through the gleaming passages. Still, his mind is occupied with thoughts of Lydia's conversation with him and Felicia at her home one day when she asks them to discuss an important matter.

Because Felicity revealed her powers to her grandmother, the woman put two and two together to realize that Peter Parker and Spider-Man were one and the same. Lydia thanked him and hugged him for saving her life from a mugger; however, he was forced to marry Felicia as he did knock her up, and if he refused, Lydia was going to reveal his secret to the world.

He balls up his fist; Cindy doesn't take the news well when Peter gets home to the penthouse of Tony Stark that he was borrowing until he can get on his feet again. Peter balled his fist even though, here in the Fortress, some time ago, he agreed with Felicia that they would marry. He is unsure if this is what he wants to do, but what would that mean for Felicity?

He had already lost four years, and that was because Felicia hid it from him. He arrives at the med bay and pushes the thoughts aside for now. Inside, he finds Felicity on a bed, monitors softly beeping beside her. Her breathing is steady, and she seems peaceful now, free from the clutches of the symbiote. Peter's gaze softens as he watches his daughter, a mixture of relief and concern coursing through him. He comes up to his four-year-old daughter, rubbing her head.

A swirl of conflicting emotions clouded his mind. There's an undeniable relief in seeing Felicity safe and free from the symbiote's influence. The concern lingers, though, not just for her current state but for the tumultuous future that awaits. His daughter, who should be experiencing childhood innocence, is instead entangled in a web of extraterrestrial threats and complex family dynamics.

Gently, Peter runs his fingers through Felicity's hair, a tender touch amid the chaos. The room, adorned with advanced medical equipment, feels strangely sterile compared to the warmth he aims to convey to his daughter. As he stands there, the weight of his responsibilities presses upon him, not just as a superhero but as a newly found father.

He thinks back to the day Lydia confronted them about his secret identity, forcing an arrangement neither he nor Felicia seemed entirely on board with. The choice to marry, born out of necessity rather than love, now hovers over him like a shadow. Cindy's reaction, the tension in their penthouse, and the strained relationships intertwine with Felicity's well-being.

The dilemma weighs on Peter. Does he go through with a marriage he's unsure about for his daughter's stability, or does he risk exposing her to a potentially tumultuous relationship? Yet, in the end, it's not just about him; it's about Felicity and the kind of life he wants for her.

He leans down and softly kisses Felicity's forehead. "I'll figure this out, sweetheart," He murmurs.

Felicity stirs slightly, her eyes fluttering open. At first, there's confusion in her gaze, but a small smile breaks on her face as she sees Peter. "Daddy?"

Peter's heart warms at the sound of that word. "Hey, munchkin. How are you feeling?"

Felicity rubs her eyes, looking around. "Where am I? What happened?"

"You had a little... visitor," Peter replies, choosing his words carefully. "But it's gone now, and you're safe."

Felicity's gaze narrows slightly, a trace of memory returning. "The black goo?"

"Yeah, that's the one," Peter confirms.

"It was everywhere, Daddy!"

Peter nods, his expression serious. "Yeah, it was, but we…I took care of it. You're going to be just fine."

Felicity furrows her brow, a hint of worry in her eyes. "Did I do something bad?"

Peter chuckles softly, brushing her hair away from her face. "No, sweetheart. None of this was your fault. You're just a kid. But we need to ensure it doesn't happen again, okay?"

"But Daddy, Krypto didn't like it." Felicity frowns, recalling the white dog's hostility.

Peter chuckles softly. "Yeah, well, Krypto doesn't like anything that tries to hurt his friends. But you're okay now, and that's what matters."

Felicity nods, seemingly content with that explanation. "Is Mommy here?"

Peter hesitates, glancing away for a moment. "Not right now, sweetheart. She's just taking care of some things."

Felicity nods again, understanding in her young eyes. "Okay, Daddy. I love you."

"I love you too, Felicity," Peter says, kissing her forehead. He stays by her side, silently grateful for the chance to protect his daughter once more.

'Felicity...' Peter thinks, 'She's just a kid. She needs stability. She needs me, and she needs her mother. Can I really make this work with Felicia once again? Am I really going to sacrifice my relationship with Cindy just for things to be well with my daughter?' The questions linger, unanswered, as Peter leans over, pressing a gentle kiss on Felicity's forehead as he hugs her. For now, in the quiet of the med bay, he finds solace in being there for his daughter, even if it is temporary.

Symbian once again tells Peter in his mind, 'Parker, listen to me, let me bond with your daughter.'

Peter grits his teeth as he responds mentally, 'Why are you so persistent?'

The symbiote suit he has on replies, 'I can protect her, keep her safe from other symbiotes where you cannot, and enhance her abilities as time goes on. You've seen what I can do. You wear me, and I upgraded with nanotech. Think of the possibilities…'

Peter's internal struggle intensifies as Symbian persistently advocates bonding with Felicity. The symbiote's arguments about protection and enhancement echo Peter's mind, raising tempting possibilities. Yet, he remains conflicted, torn between the desire to shield his daughter from harm and the uncertainty of embracing a symbiotic solution.

N.Y.C.

Meanwhile, in the skyline of the infected city, Teresa leads the mission of finding the flying symbiotes instead of Spider-Cat per Black Widow's orders as she flatly tells Spider-Man she will not entrust a task to a person she doesn't know.

However, Spider-Cat is panting hard and unsure what the cause is; her mind is suddenly in a fog, and she is sweating profusely.

Sudden distress sends alarms through the minds of her teammates. Silk, observant as ever, notices the unusual behavior and immediately voices her concern.

"Hey, something's not right. Are you okay?" Silk inquires, her eyes narrowing as she observes Spider-Cat's discomfort.

Spider-Cat, Future Felicity, struggles to find her voice amidst the haze that clouds her mind. Sweat beads on her forehead were a physical manifestation of the internal turmoil she was experiencing. Her breaths come in ragged gasps as she tries to make sense of the overwhelming sensations.

Silk reaches out, placing a hand on Spider-Cat's shoulder, "Come on, talk to me. What's happening?"

Spider-Cat, her vision blurry, attempts to articulate her condition, "I... I don't know. Something's off. Head's…spinning."

Suddenly, Spider-Cat collapses, and some of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents with them are alarmed. One of them orders the A.P.C. unit to land somewhere as Future Felicity starts foaming at the mouth and convulsing on the floor. Silk immediately goes to Spider-Cat's side while she calls for medical assistance, her concern deepening as she tries to stabilize Future Felicity. Other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents scramble to clear space, creating a makeshift area for emergency medical attention. The urgency in the air is palpable as the A.P.C. descends rapidly to find a secure landing spot.

Future Felicity's body twitches uncontrollably, her eyes rolling back, revealing only the whites, though you couldn't see them because of her optics. The foaming at the mouth intensifies, creating a distressing sight for everyone on board. Though trained for combat, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are now faced with a medical emergency they weren't prepared for.

"Get a medic in here now!" Silk barks into the communication system. As the A.P.C. touches down on a rooftop, the back doors swing open, revealing a team of medics ready to act.

Spider-Cat is swiftly transferred onto a stretcher, the medics working precisely to stabilize her. They hook her to a portable medical device, monitoring her vitals as the A.P.C. unit transforms into a makeshift field hospital.

Silk stands by, frustration etched across her face. "What the heck just happened?" She mutters to herself. The other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents exchange worried glances, grappling with the uncertainty of the situation.

As the medics continued their work, Spider-Cat's convulsions began to subside. The foaming lessens, but she remains unconscious, caught in the grip of an unseen force. The mystery surrounding her sudden illness casts a shadow over the mission, diverting attention from the looming threat of the flying symbiotes.

Since Teresa was on top of one of the A.P.C. units, she noticed that one of the A.P.C. units broke formation radios in "A.P.C. unit B02983497-009; why did you break formation?"

The soldier who answered replied from the other end of the radio, "We have a medical emergency situation."

Spider-Velvet blinks; she wonders what could have happened? Quickly, she barks the order for the rest of the A.P.C. unit to surround the building where A.P.C. unit B02983497-009 is located. When they are close, Spider-Velvet hops off as Silk kneels beside Spider-Cat as she asks, "What happened?"

The medics work diligently around Spider-Cat as Silk briefs Spider-Velvet on the situation. "She just collapsed. No warning. One moment, she was fine, and the next, she's seizing and foaming at the mouth."

Spider-Velvet's concern deepens as she approaches, her optics narrowing as she observes the scene. "Did she mention anything about feeling off before this happened?"

Silk shakes her head, "No, nothing. It was sudden. She complained about her head spinning, is all."

The medics continue their work, attaching various monitors and administering medical aid. Spider-Cat remains unconscious, her vitals being closely monitored.

Spider-Velvet clenches her fists, and frustration is evident on her face. "This is not normal. We need to figure out what caused this. Any ideas?"

Silk looks around, her senses heightened. "I don't see any immediate threats. It's like she just... shut down."

As the medics prepare to move Spider-Cat onto a stretcher for transport, the medic S.H.I.E.L.D. agent approaches Silk and Spider-Velvet. "We've run a diagnostic. No signs of external interference. It seems to be something internal."

Spider-Velvet nods, her mind racing. "Get her back to Stark Tower to the medical facility as fast as possible. We need answers."

But before they could move Spider-Cat, Silk noticed that, somehow, she had become translucent. The medic gasped, "This is not normal."

"Um Te...I mean, Spider-Velvet?" Silk motions to her ally

"What?" Teresa ask

"Is that normal?" Silk point to Spider-Cat

Spider-Velvet eyes widen as Spider-Cat becomes translucent, like see-through, "What the..."

Teresa's eyes widened as she saw Spider-Cat becoming translucent before her eyes. It's an unnerving sight, something she hasn't encountered before. She glances at Silk, concern etched across her face. "This...this isn't normal. What is happening to her?"

Silk looks just as perplexed. "I have no idea. I've never seen anything like this either."

The medics, too, exchange bewildered glances. Their training didn't prepare them for a situation like this. Spider-Cat's form flickers, her outline wavering like a mirage.

Spider-Velvet takes a step closer, her hand reaching out tentatively, but it passes through the translucent figure of Spider-Cat. "This is...this is beyond my understanding."

Silk places a hand on Teresa's shoulder. "We need to get her to the medical facility fast. Maybe they can figure out what's happening."

Yet before they could do anything, Spider-Cat suddenly sat up and inhaled sharply, solidifying as if she was gasping for breath. Spider-cat pants heavily, and then she says, "The future is...changed..."

The sudden revelation jolts both Spider-Velvet and Silk. Spider-Cat's cryptic words hang in the air, leaving an uneasy tension in their wake. Trying to make sense of the situation, Teresa asks urgently, "What do you mean the future changed?"

Spider-Cat looks down at her hands, whispering, "Father, you gave me a piece of your symbiote at four years of age?"

Teresa growls, "You are not making any sense, you know that..."

Spider-Cat then hugs Teresa out of the blue.

Teresa stiffens, "I'm not much of a hugger."

"Please let me have this, Aunt Teresa." Spider-Cat whispers in her ears.

Teresa is taken aback, "What did you just call me?"

Spider-Cat response is a hug, only tightening.

Still processing the unexpected address, Teresa hesitates before awkwardly returning the hug. Silk watches the scene unfold, her curiosity evident.

"Alright, you're definitely not making any sense now," Teresa remarks, gently pulling back from the hug but keeping her hands on Spider-Cat's shoulders.

Spider-Cat looks at both, a mix of emotions in her eyes. "I... I have memories of a different future. The symbiote, my dad's symbiote, he gave it to me..."

"What is that supposed to mean?" Silk asks.

"My memories they've changed..." Future Felicity says, "Events that happened in the future changed...I can't explain it, but I have a piece of my father's symbiote suit."

"Meaning what exactly?" Spider-Velvet says.

"Silk, someone is gunning for you...and they are here in this timeline. Someone wants you dead." Spider-Cat says fearfully.

Silk swallows, her expression tightens, a mix of disbelief and concern crossing her features. "Someone's after me? Why?"

"I don't know," Spider-cat says as she shakes her head, her eyes scanning the surroundings as if expecting an imminent threat. "I don't have all the details. My memories are fragmented, and the future is in flux. But there's danger, and it's coming for you."

Spider-Velvet glances at Silk, then at Spider-Cat; she clicks her tongue, "Look, let's focus on those flying symbiotes. We'll figure out who's coming for Silk and why later."

Silk nods, determination in her eyes. "Agreed. But we also need to ensure Spider-Cat's okay. Whatever she went through, it didn't look pleasant."

Spider-Cat rubs her temples, trying to make sense of the conflicting memories. "I need to find my father. There's something he needs to know."

Teresa crosses her arms, "Not until we deal with his current threat. Your father can wait, whoever he is. We have our work cut out for us." The redhead turns to the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, "Prepare to move out, men!"

The unit gave a salute and a yes, ma'am, and they quickly packed their belongings, ready to fly out to their destination. Spider-Velvet asks Spider-Cat to accompany her on the A.P.C. unit on the roof of the vehicle, "Who is your father, and why did you call me aunt?"

Spider-Cat cringes and mentally berates herself for saying 'aunt' to Teresa; while it is true that she is her biological aunt, that doesn't mean she has to go and say that. So, Felicity is stuttering with her words about that slip-up on her part, shifting uncomfortably, her eyes avoiding direct contact with Spider-Velvet. "Uh, well, you see... in my timeline, you and my dad were close. So, I just assumed... I'm sorry if that's weird."

Teresa studies Spider-Cat, her instincts sensing that there's more to the story. "Close, huh? In what way?"

Spider-Cat fidgets, her voice hesitant. "Not romantically close, more like... partners. Teammates. You could say you're like family, hence the 'aunt' slip. Sorry if I overstepped."

Teresa crosses her arms and looks Felicity in the eye, her scrutiny making the future girl squirm, "Why do you keep referring to the future and saying that it has changed."

Silk fills the blank, "Because Spider-Cat is from the future. You weren't there when she and Super Storm introduced themselves at the Fortress."

"Ah, so that explains it." Teresa muses

"You're not freaked out?" Spider-Cat asks, giving Teresa a skeptical look. "You don't seem surprised at all. Most people would freak out about time-travel stuff."

"Trust me when I say I've seen my fair share of weird." With a smirk, Teresa said, "Considering the kind of life I lead, time travel doesn't even make the top ten list of weird things. Now, spill. Who's your dad? And what's this future you keep talking about?"

Spider-Cat hesitates, glancing around the A.P.C. unit as if expecting eavesdroppers. "My dad is Spider-Man…"

"You're lying..." Teresa says in a challenging, disbelieving tone.

Looking around for any eavesdropper, Felicity parts her symbiote mask and makes a funnel to make sure no one can look from the side, and Teresa's jaw drops.

"Feli...MMPH!"

Spider-Cat covers her mouth with her hand as she sheepishly says, "Hi, Aunt Teresa..." Once Teresa's mouth was let go, Spider-Cat mask covered her face.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agent is silent, dumbstruck, while Silk waves her hand before her face, "I think you broke her."

Teresa blinks several times, trying to process the revelation. "Wait, wait, wait. So, you're saying your father is Spider-Man... Peter Parker...my long lost recently found older brother…is your dad?" She looked at the cat ears; it didn't take a rocket scientist to know the mother. "And your mother…is the Cat B**** Felicia Hardy?"

Spider-Cat nods her expression a mix of awkwardness and amusement. "Yeah, that's the gist of it. Surprise?"

Teresa stammers, "But... you're, like, a kid. I mean, at this current time, you are four or five years old? How does that even..." It then dawned on the redhead, "Did you mention time travel…?"

Spider-Cat chuckles nervously, "It's complicated. Time travel tends to be messy. In my future, well, a hero went off the deep end and made my mother his queen of the world, with every single hero and villain as his enforcer, and now I'm here trying to navigate this mess to prevent that future from coming to pass."

Silk interjects, "Wait a minute, didn't you say he made a harem of, you know…every woman?"

Spider-Cat looks at her quizzically, "What are you talking about? When did I say that?"

Silk didn't take long to figure out that the previous future that Spider-Cat mentioned changed, "You know what…never mind."

Spider-Cat looks at Silk funny.

Teresa studies Spider-Cat, her skepticism lingering as she rubs her temples, "This day just keeps getting weirder. So, what's the deal with Peter? Is he okay in the future? And you're sure you're not some impostor or villain with a time-travel gimmick?"

Spider-Cat's expression turns somber, "He's dealing with a lot." Felicity doesn't want to condemn her father for something that could be avoidable, so she keeps that part of the information to herself and Corey; however, she says, "You think I'd come all the way from the future just to mess things up? I'm on your side, Aunt Teresa. And yeah, I might be a bit of a mess, but I'm not a villain."

Teresa grins wryly, "Well, that's reassuring. Let's get to the bottom of this mess and maybe, just maybe, prevent whatever disaster you're talking about."

"Yeah, let's hope..." Spider-Cat remained skeptical; she looked at Silk, who was the key to her future events.

"Let me ask you why does my death affect this fallen hero so much? Silk asks.

Felicity sighs as the A.P.C. units fly, "The fallen hero's biggest regret was not being able to save you. After you have been murdered by Carnage, he blamed himself for every failure that ever occurred in his life."

Silk's eyes narrowed as she absorbed this information. The weight of responsibility hangs heavy in the air. "So, I become some kind of turning point for him?"

Spider-Cat nods, "Your death... it haunted him. He blamed himself for not being able to protect you. It changed him and pushed him into a darker place. And that darkness has consequences for everyone. He kept my mother and two others...very close…if you know what I mean…"

Silk looks out of the A.P.C., her thoughts clearly troubled. "Great, no pressure or anything."

Teresa leans seriously, "We'll figure this out, Silk. Whatever's coming, we face it together."

Silk nods, her determination resurfacing. "Alright, let's focus on the task at hand then. We must find out who and why they're targeting me later."

Sometime later, Silk wiped a little of her sweat; she hated being so high up, and even when Peter allowed her to patrol the city alone, it was still nerve-racking. She then looks up as a shadow spots white-winged creatures; it dawns on her that they look a little like Vulture.

Cindy frowns, remembering how he had her restrained with her in tow and Peter chasing after him to save her. The memories of that harrowing experience with Vulture linger in Silk's mind as the white-winged creatures draw nearer. The resemblance to the Vulture outline is uncanny, and a shiver runs down her spine. She glances at Spider-Cat, who seems to share the same unease, her optics eyes narrowing.

"Hey, you, okay?"

Cindy forces a small smile. "Yeah, just a little flashback. Vulture dropped me from a ridiculous height once. Still working on getting over that."

Overhearing the conversation, Teresa chimes in, "You know, facing your fears is one thing, but that doesn't mean you have to like it. We're all dealing with our own demons. Just take it one step at a time."

Cindy appreciates the support, nodding in acknowledgment. "Yeah, one step at a time. Let's just get this mission done."

As the A.P.C. moves closer to the white-winged creatures, Silk remarks, her tone tense. "These things... they look like Vulture, don't they?"

Spider-Cat nods, her symbiote mask shifting as she responds, "Yeah, they do in a way, but it's like a cross of that Xenomorph alien with wings. But something's off. Vulture never had an army of flying minions. This is different."

Observing the approaching threat, Teresa grips the edges of the A.P.C. roof. "Stay alert, ladies. We might be in for a bumpy ride."

More winged creatures swoop in, the symbiote vultures attack the A.P.C. unit, and the three spider-themed ladies spring into action. Teresa hears shots that mean they are getting close to one of S.H.I.E.L.D. locations, "Look alive, people. I hear gunshots, and it looks like we are getting close." Spider-Velvet.

The sky erupts with chaos as the symbiote vulturelings dive-bomb the flying A.P.C. units. Their eerie screeches pierce the air, creating an unsettling symphony. Silk, Spider-Cat, and Spider-Velvet spring into action.

With her agility, Silk swings gracefully between the vulturelings, dodging their swooping attacks. Her silk strands shoot out like tendrils from her fingertips, ensnaring the creature's mid-flight. She yanks them together, causing a mid-air collision that sends them careening away.

She bounces off another vultureling, shooting another web line and bounding off its face before she swings and kicks another.

Using her symbiote-enhanced agility and strength, Spider-Cat leaps from one vultureling to another. Her symbiote suit forms wicked claws, tearing through the creatures' membranous wings. With a feral grace, she dispatches them with calculated strikes, each movement a dance of lethal precision.

She then unleashes a tendril attack; it snatches a vultureling from the air before she twirls it around before launching to another vultureling, knocking it from the air. She spirals out of the way in mid-air before she slams down on another symbiote creature.

Spider-Velvet weaves through the aerial assault as she grabs a vulture's mid-flight, her strength effortlessly overpowering their attempts to break free. With a mighty swing, she hurls them into the path of their oncoming allies.

Despite their combined efforts, the vulturelings prove relentless. Their numbers are overwhelming, and their symbiote-infused strength makes them formidable adversaries. The A.P.C. units, now swarmed, rock under the onslaught.

Teresa barks and orders, "Focus fire! Take them down, but watch your surroundings. We can't afford to lose altitude with those creatures around!"

S.H.I.E.L.D. agents on the A.P.C. units unleash a barrage of gunfire, aiming at the vulturelings. Explosions of dark goo erupt as some creatures succumb to the onslaught, but more take their place. The battle in the skies intensifies, a chaotic clash between the spider-themed heroes and the symbiote vulturelings.

However, the rooftop of the S.H.I.E.L.D. location resembles a battleground as agents scramble to defend their position against the symbiote onslaught. The air is thick with tension and the acrid stench of gunfire.

Clad in their tactical gear, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents move strategically across the rooftop, firing a barrage of bullets, energy blasts, and whatever weaponry they can muster at the symbiote-infested creatures. The clatter of gunfire echoes against the concrete walls, creating a chaotic symphony of combat.

The symbiote vulturelings, grotesque hybrids of alien symbiotes and winged creatures, swoop down from the darkened sky. Their screeches mingle with the rapid staccato of gunfire, creating an unsettling cacophony that reverberates through the night.

Explosions of dark goo erupt as bullets find their mark, momentarily dispersing the vulturelings. However, the symbiotic creatures prove resilient, re-forming and diving back into the fray with renewed aggression.

S.H.I.E.L.D. agents work in tandem, some providing cover fire while others reload their weapons or deploy specialized equipment designed to counter symbiotic threats. The rooftop becomes a dynamic battlefield where every corner is a potential ambush point.

Amidst the chaos, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent clad in a sleek black suit steps forward, armed with a high-tech rifle modified to fire sonic pulses. The distinctive hum of the sonic disruptor pierces the air as the agent takes aim at the vulturelings. The sonic pulses cause visible discomfort to the symbiote creatures, disrupting their cohesion and momentarily incapacitating them.

Despite the agents' efforts, the symbiote onslaught is relentless. More vulturelings pour in, their numbers seemingly endless. The rooftop battle becomes a desperate struggle for survival as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents fight valiantly against an elusive and unnaturally resilient enemy.

Amid the turmoil, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent communicates via radio, "We need reinforcements! The symbiotes are overwhelming us!" The urgency in their voice underscores the severity of the situation as the battle on the rooftop reaches a critical juncture.

Despite the agents' efforts to hold their positions, it becomes evident that the sheer number of symbiote vulturelings and other symbiote creatures is pushing them to their limits. One agent, beads of sweat forming on his forehead, fires his weapon with urgency.

"There's too many of them!" He cries out, his voice laced with frustration and fear.

A nearby agent, determined to maintain order, shouts, "Hold your position! We can't let them breach our defenses!"

The rooftop battle becomes a chaotic ballet of gunfire and evasive maneuvers. Agents reload their weapons efficiently, creating a rhythm of shots and pauses. The vulturelings, however, show no signs of letting up, their relentless attacks keeping the agents on the defensive.

During the skirmish, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent deploys a small explosive device to disrupt symbiote cohesion. The device emits a bright flash and a burst of sonic waves, momentarily scattering a group of vulturelings.

Stark Tower

Meanwhile, Black Widow, who is typically composed, is pacing with sweat building on her forehead, and her usually steady hands clench into fists as she curses in Russian. The combat team of S.H.I.E.L.D. bunker will not survive if nothing is done, "Where is Spider-Man!?" She approaches the communication console and urgently contacts Sable, the leader of the combat team stationed in the S.H.I.E.L.D. bunker. "Sable, report! Where are you? My men are in desperate need of reinforcement!"

The response over the commlink is filled with urgency, "We're under heavy attack on the road! It's overwhelming! I don't know how long we can hold!"

Black Widow's frustration deepens as she turns to Luke Cage, seeking information on his team's status. "Cage, what about your team? We need everyone we can get!"

Luke Cage's voice crackles over the commlink, "We're dealing with our swarm of these things. Can't provide much help right now."

The Russian operative slams her fist on the table, venting her frustration. "Damn it! Is there anyone available? We can't let this bunker fall!"

Just as desperation sets in, a familiar voice cuts through the tension. Ms. Marvel, also known as Carol Danvers, responds over the commlink, "Cool your jets, Natasha. I'm on my way to assist."

Black Widow's anger is evident in her response, "Carol, where were you? We needed you earlier!"

With an air of nonchalance, Carol replies, "Just tying up some things. I'm en route. Hold tight."

With a mix of relief and impatience, Black Widow continues to coordinate efforts from Stark Tower, hoping that the arrival of Ms. Marvel will turn the tide in their favor against the symbiote onslaught.

Spider-Man's voice crackles through the commlink, injecting humor into the tense situation, "I'm sorry, guys, are we late to the party?"

Black Widow's response is a fierce roar, "WHERE WERE YOU!"

Superman retorts, "Hey, some of us have super hearing!"

Black Widow doesn't relent, "I don't care! You two took 20 minutes! 20 min…"

"We're en route, so take a chill pill," Corey responds calmly, cutting her off.

Meanwhile, Savannah is sulking, sitting on a chair with her arms folded. She is frustrated, "I can't believe you have me sitting out. I can help. I'm Super Storm for a reason, you know!"

Black Widow gives the young girl a stern look, "You are a child, and I will not put a child's life on the line for the sake of the city."

Savannah grumbles, clearly displeased with being sidelined during the crisis. The tension in the room is palpable as everyone prepares for the impending confrontation with the symbiote threat.

Back at the S.H.I.E.L.D. Bunker Symbiote, Ms. Marvel, adorned in her black leotard outfit, gloves, boots, and a scarf tied to her waist, weaves through the chaotic battle scene. Her eyes narrowed as she spotted Silk, locked in combat against the symbiote vulturelings. She smirked to maintain her facade as an ally and decided to lend a hand instead of using her superior strength, combat skills, and photon blasts.

With a burst of speed, Symbiote Ms. Marvel reaches the fray. Her movements are swift and precise, reminiscent of her former self. The symbiote enhances her formidable strength, allowing her to effortlessly knock away Vulturelings with calculated strikes. She engages them head-on, each punch resonating with a powerful impact.

Amidst the skirmish, she employs her photon blasts strategically, aiming to create openings for the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents. The blasts cut through the air with bright energy, disintegrating symbiote targets in their path and freeing their victims. Ms. Marvel moves with a fluidity that showcases her combat prowess and the symbiote's enhanced capabilities.

As she fights, she occasionally glances toward Felicity, her internal thoughts revealing a disdain for her presence. 'This insolent brat, daring to defy the order of things,' She thinks, her mental tone dripping with contempt. 'She thinks she can alter the future, disrupt the carefully woven threads of fate. But she doesn't understand the necessity of sacrifices. She doesn't comprehend the grand design.' However, she focuses on the battle, ensuring that her assistance appears genuine to those around her. However, Ms. Marvel's thoughts seethe with loathing as she observes Felicity, the catalyst for a disruption in the timeline. The idea of someone meddling with the future, attempting to change the course of events, strikes a nerve deep within her symbiote-infused consciousness.

In the twisted logic of the symbiote king's enforcer, achieving a utopian future requires certain events to unfold. The death of Cindy, Silk, is a pivotal moment, a sacrifice deemed essential for the greater good, per the symbiote king's vision.

'She believes she can save Cindy, but little does she know that her interference only ensures a more chaotic and fragmented future. The symbiote king's rule brings order, and order demands sacrifice. Cindy's demise is a linchpin, a necessary step towards perfection,' Her thoughts continue, fueled by the symbiote's dark influence. 'Her attachment to that woman, Cindy, is a weakness.'

The final symbiote vultureling is brought down by a coordinated effort from SHIELD agents and the spider-themed heroes. The creature screeches as it's overwhelmed, its host writhing in agony. SHIELD medics move swiftly, armed with advanced technology, to neutralize the symbiotic threat. They work efficiently, extracting the symbiote from its host and placing the affected individuals in specialized containment units.

As the heroes catch their breath, the last vultureling defeated, medics move among them, tending to the host of these symbiotes, offering quick-acting remedies to alleviate the symptoms of nausea and disorientation caused by the abrupt separation.

Then suddenly, Spider-Man arrives, and his arrival has left him disoriented, and the speed of arrival takes a toll on his equilibrium. Spider-Man, always vocal about his dislike for rapid transportation, is the first to succumb to nausea. He doubles over, hands on his knees, retching at the corner of the SHIELD rooftop, "Ugh...I hate it when he does that..."

Soon, other teammates arrive, and Spinneret, Firestar, Rogue, and Silver Sable have reactions ranging from covering their mouths to outright rushing towards the corner to join Spider-Man in relieving their stomachs of whatever discomfort the rapid movement of transportation did to them.

Even the formidable Carol Danvers winces at the unpleasant sight and smell.

Amid it all, Superman arrives last. His response to the collective display of discomfort is a nonchalant chuckle. "Weaklings," he jests, his tone filled with good-natured humor.

Spider-Man, leaning against a wall to steady himself, glares at Corey. "Easy for you to say... you're Superman."

Superman shrugs a casual gesture that only adds to the air of unaffected superiority. Meanwhile, SHIELD medics quickly approached the disoriented heroes. They distribute small vials containing a remedy for nausea and vomiting, offering relief to the team. The medics efficiently attend to each member, ensuring that they recover swiftly from the effects of their abrupt arrival.

Amidst the banter, the puking, and the subsequent medical attention, the team begins to regain their composure. Once the worst disorientation passes, Spider-Man straightens up, wiping his mouth. "Remind me to stick to the web swinging next time," He mutters.

X grins, "Sure thing, Spidey. But where's the fun in that?" The banter resumes, and the team, despite their initial discomfort, readies itself for the debriefing that awaits.

A S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, gathering the team for debriefing, reassures Silk concerning Luke Cage as she states, "Wait, where's Luke?"

Spider-Man chimes in, explaining, "Luke chose to stay behind to assist in evacuating non-infected civilians, and he's in the capable company of Silver Sable's Wild Pack."

Silk, still concerned, expresses, "But he's all alone without anyone else to watch over him."

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agent counters Silk's worry, "Don't underestimate S.H.I.E.L.D. We have sonic weapons to help cover and old-fashioned lead, so it won't be a problem."

Superman, ever the realist, adds, "For now."

Spider-Man, the eternal optimist, goes over to his girlfriend, wraps an arm around her waist, and pulls her into a side hug. "Luke is pretty tough, so it will take more than a few symbiotes to take him down."

The reassurances provide some comfort, but the gravity of the situation remains. The team knows that their efforts are vital in stemming the symbiote invasion.

The group, guided by the SHIELD agent, makes their way toward the debriefing room, taking the elevator to reach it. The atmosphere is tense, with Symbiote Ms. Marvel maintaining a stone-cold expression. Internally, she reacts with disgust at the affection displayed by Silk being wrapped in a side hug by Spider-Man, who leans in and offers comfort.

Sensing something amiss through her spider-sense, Felicity looks around for potential danger. Teresa notices Felicity's behavior and asks, "Hey, kid, you okay?"

Scratching the back of her head, Felicity whispers to her aunt, "My spider senses are tingling, and I don't know why."

Learning something new about her powers, Teresa blinks and responds, "So that's what that buzzing means. I was wondering why my head was tingling."

Spider-Cat, in the know about spider powers, nods in agreement, "That's right. You're new to having your spider powers."

Overhearing the conversation, Spider-Man confirms the statement, feeling his spider-sense tingling. Reacting to the sensation, he pulls Silk closer to him.

"Spidey?" Silk questions.

Positioning Silk in front of him, Spider-Man wraps her in a hug from behind, kissing her head and gently squeezing her. Cindy coos softly, enjoying the affection.

X clears his throat, breaking the romantic moment and signaling they are not alone. Tensions rise, but the elevator dings, reaching the floor they must be on for the debriefing. The team prepares to face whatever challenges lie ahead.

Once inside the debriefing room, the SHIELD agent addresses the group, emphasizing their ongoing challenges: "Our combat team is safe, but the work is not done."

Still holding Silk by the waist, Spider-Man sits against a wall with her on his legs, showing a casual yet intimate stance, "So what else is new?"

"Spider-Man, there's a large concentration of these creatures nearby. I don't need to tell you what to do," the SHIELD agent states.

Spider-Man, maintaining his trademark wit, rolls his eyes and remarks, "Right. Knock down the flying symbiotes."

"But not only that," The agent continues, "Destroy the source creating these creatures. Some pods suck in victims and spit them out as these symbiote vulturelings and other kinds of symbiote."

Spider-Man, reacting to the news of more nests, buries his face in Silk's neck, a playful and affectionate gesture. Silk squirms, ticklish in that area, and grunts softly, feeling Peter's breath on her as he states, "Great... nests make more symbiotes."

Sable, unimpressed, shouts, "Can you please stop mooching off your girlfriend's neck for one second!"

Superman X, indifferent to the banter, appreciates Peter's attempt at playfulness. However, he notices Carol staring at him intently, and when he gestures with a questioning look, she turns away.

Spider-Man, ever the joker, turns his attention to Spinneret, Sable, Rogue, Firestar, and Spider-Cat, saying, "Hmm... what's the word I'm thinking that's on the tip of my tongue?" He pauses dramatically, tapping his chin. "No..."

The girls react to Spider-Man's antics, some with amusement and others with exasperation. Spider-Cat, not in the mood for Peter's jokes, tells him, "Spider-Man, this isn't the time for your usual banter. Lives are at stake, and we must act quickly and efficiently."

Firestar adds since she has a history with him, "Spidey, we've been through tough situations, but this is different. These symbiotes are a serious threat, and we can't afford any distractions."

Spider-Velvet (Teresa) clicks her tongue, "Look, I don't know if humor is your coping mechanism, but right now, we need focus. Lives depend on it, and we can't afford to underestimate the danger."

Rogue crosses her arms, " Sugah, way all know yawl lahk tuh keep thangs laht, but thus ain't thuh tahm fahwar it. These symbiotes is relentless, an way gotta bay on our A-game."

Spinneret mutters in amusement, "Typical Peter, always joking intense moments like these."

As Spider-Man rolls his eyes, he dislodges from Silk, who stands beside him, wrapping his arm with hers. Spider-Man counters, "Ladies, please. I'm aware of the situation. I'm just trying to lighten up the mood. Sometimes, you must laugh at the problem, knowing it's not the end of everything. Like seriously, lighten up."

Symbiote Ms. Marvel rolls her eyes at the conversation, but Corey approaches her and asks, "What do you want?"

"Since when did you have time to make a costume change? I happened to like your red, blue outfit better." Corey states

Symbiote Ms. Marvel folds her arms as she addresses X, "Why does it matter to you anyway? It's none of your business to know why I changed my outfit. Just get used to black; it's the new red and blue."

Superman held his hands, "Okay, fair enough, but I am inquisitive when you did have time to change. The last time I checked, you were supposed to be taking care of saving Storm while I was taking care of Juggernaut, and so far, it looks to me that you failed in that regard."

Symbiote Ms. Marvel rolls her eyes, "Look, by the time I went to save Storm of the X-Men, she was gone with Venom, and his allies disappeared."

"Alright, if you say so..." Corey pauses before adding, "By the way, you are a terrible liar."

Symbiote Ms. Marvel freezes, staring at Corey with a blank face. Corey walks away, leaving her to grapple with her own thoughts. She curses herself for forgetting that Corey, like Robert, has super hearing and can pick up on heartbeats to tell if one is lying.

Symbiote Ms. Marvel takes a moment to compose herself. She's impersonating her past self, and she made a promise to Superman X to save Storm from the symbiotes. However, she interfered with her past counterpart from doing so. Right now, her past self is bound and gagged with a neutralizer collar that suppresses her powers, out of commission in an abandoned warehouse facing the Hudson River waterfront.

She excuses herself, goes into another room, and shuts the door. Future Carol paced with urgency, her thoughts racing faster than her steps. Corey's suspicion pricked at her, a reminder that her cover was delicate, a fragile web that could unravel with the wrong pull. She couldn't afford to draw attention, not now when her mission was critical. Felicity, too, was a potential threat. The girl's keen instincts, inherited from her parents, could unearth secrets buried in shadows.

Carol needed to tread carefully; she had to maintain her guise as the hero she pretended to be. 'This masquerade is increasingly becoming precarious. Corey's suspicions are growing, and I can't afford any missteps. Felicity is sharp; she could see through this charade at any moment via spider sense. Maintaining this guise is crucial for the success of my mission. The symbiote king's ascension relies on the intricacies of my actions. Yet, the dilemma persists. Storm's absence is a glaring gap, a weakness in my fabricated narrative. I cannot approach Venom directly without risking exposure. If any of the heroes accompanies me, the façade crumbles, revealing my true intent. The mission to witness Peter's transformation into the symbiote king must not be compromised. I must devise a plan. Perhaps I can create a convincing illusion of Storm's presence, a visual deception to pacify the suspicions. No, that will raise even more doubt. Venom must be persuaded to release Ororo while still maintaining her symbiote. I will need to speak with him discreetly, ensuring that none of the heroes catch wind of the conversation. The sacrifice of Silk looms on the horizon. It's a heavy toll, but the symbiote king demands it for the greater good, for the utopia that awaits. The path to this future is fraught with challenges, and each decision must be calculated. The symbiote king's will shall be done, even if it requires navigating this intricate web of deceit.'
