The next day:

Emma Swan and Killian Jones were sitting at their home. The two were at the dinner table together, speaking to one another and eating. "I know your mother's death has been hard for you, Swan."

She nodded. "It has but I think being with you has made things easier day by day."

He smiled back at her as he continued to eat his dinner with her across the table. "I'm sorry, love." Emma made a confused face. "I'm sorry I ended our relationship so fast and let you go. We both needed each other the most. I was foolish and weak. I was so distracted by that baby that I didn't see that you were hurting."

She slowly moved her hand over his on the table. "No, Killian. I should have told you. I was the selfish one. I was willing to keep that secret in order to not lose you."

Hope started crying in her crib as she said those last words. She rushed up from the chair and picked the baby up. "Here, Hook. Hold her." She said as she came back to the table, standing near Killian. He hadn't held the child yet, not once. He kept his distance from the baby, almost like he despised it. He didn't actually despise the baby itself but what she represented. She repeated. "You can hold her if you want, Killian."

He stared at his girlfriend and then dropped his eyes down to the six month old infant. The baby was getting big now and they both knew her daughter was going to start crawling soon.

"I don't know about this, love." He said as she reached out her hands to give him the baby. He looked at Hope, eyes sparkling, and her hands trying to reach out to him. She instantly got quiet as he held her.

"I knew she would like you." Emma smiled as he looked at the baby. "I know this is lying and I know it's my child I'm talking about but I was thinking-" She paused and then they both looked up, eye to eye. "We could raise her into believing you are her biological father."

He sighed in response. "Emma, I don't want to lie to your own child for the rest her life. The truth always comes back to haunt us. I don't want her to be told a lie her whole life. Eventually, she would find out the truth and hate us for not telling her."

"It will help her. How would you like to know all your life you were the daughter of someone who kidnapped your mother?"

"It's just-" He sighed. "You're right, Swan. As far I as am concerned it would be better to call her my child than her to ever find out who her real father was." He then looked down and cuddled his head to the baby. "Besides I think she likes me."

Emma shook her head and smiled. "We will tell her if she ever asks but as long as she doesn't, I plan to hide the truth from her to protect her from knowing what terribly happened."

Hook then gave Hope back to Emma. "Love, the truth always has a way to resurface. I just hope she'll understand."

Emma thought. I hope Killian and Hope will get along and I hope that one day we can all be a family and forget the past. I just pray she will never ask who her real father is.
