Shouto was never afraid of a challenge. As a product of a strained relationship between his fire-wielding father and his ice-controlling mother, perseverance ran in his veins. During his days at UA High School, the duality of his conflicting emotions and the goal to surpass All Might have been embedded in his brain — more so the sought approval of his father who was and still is, the #1 Pro Hero of Japan.
In his thirty-something years of his existence, challenges and perseverance learned how to coordinate with each other — the shrimp and the goby. He excelled in his studies, ranked in the top tier to work at any hero agency of his choosings, fought many villains that earned him recognition with the press. Even facing toe-to-toe with his very own blood brother, Dabi.
"Weiss, I really think we need to start considering giving our children separate bedrooms."
If the Lord would have whispered in his ear the moment his mother poured tea on his face that he would have been chosen as a hero to train huntsmen and huntresses in Remnant and it would eventually encountered a tsundere ice queen that would eventually become his wife, Shouto would have told God for his mother to hit both eyes.
"Autumn Schnee Todoroki and Sky Schnee Todoroki, what am I gonna do with you?" The icy hot father stood at the frame of his children's bedroom. Etched on the front door were a tiny piece of paper — a red umbrella to symbolize the fate of love between Autumn and Sky, who affectionately called themselves Aki and Sora.
The siblings were sitting up in bed. Which bed didn't matter as neither one should be sharing a bed anyway, especially for their age. And considering the aggressiveness of sexuality and fan service have been appearing in the media, the dual-colored hair father knew that it was time to separate the twins.
"Greetings, Father." The white-haired, blue-eyed daughter said to her father, showcasing her teeth as if nothing was occurring. She turned her head and affectionately stroked her younger brother of five minutes, Sky. Sky was much more timid than Autumn. Similar to Shouto, he sported red-and-blue eyes and dual-colored hair, but he has a scar on his left eye like his mother.
"Sora, sweetie. Aren't you going to greet father?" Autumn said as she nudged her brother to speak.
In a soft voice, Sky responded. "O-o-o-oh-oha-ohayou…"
His poor attempt at Japanese was adorable. Shouto kind of blamed himself. It has only been a year since Shouto and the family have returned to Japan. Autumn and Sky's earlier roots were back in Remnant. Serving as a representative of his father's hero agency, he was based in Remnant until the local government felt that there were enough heroes that could train with huntsmen that he could go home. So, to his children, Mistrali and English was their native tongue. He was thankful that the school they attend was an American school and hopefully they can pick up on his father's native tongue.
"Shouto, what's taking so l—" The ice queen herself, who was brushing her hair, stopped at the door to see the scene of their children.
"Greetings, Mother." Scribbled marks appeared on Autumn's forehead. If anyone could see the dark atmosphere fuming from her, then someone would know that Autumn and her mother have a weird dance with each other.
Quite unfortunate that it was one-sided.
"Good morning, my dear babies!" Weiss rushed into the bedroom and swooped up both her children. She smothered her children in kisses. "Oh my Oum! I'm so excited for you kiddos! The first day of school! Aren't you excited?!" She then turned to Shouto. "Shouto, honey?!"
Shouto was too focused on why their pajama bottoms were missing. He had hoped to God that they were too hot and wanted to cool off. He couldn't get particularly mad at Sky as he was timid. His eyes were on Autumn.
"Shouto, honey?"
The icy hot father snapped back to reality. Keeping an air as if nothing was wrong, he produced a fake smile. "Yes, dear. Today's an exciting day for Autumn and Sky." He rushed over, pecked his wife on the cheek, and scooped up Sky. "Let's run you a bath and get you ready for school."
Sky was turning beet red, cradling onto his father as he buried his head into his bosom. Shouto proceeded to head to the bathroom with his son, leaving Autumn alone with her mother.
"Would you care to shower with Mummy, dear?" The ice queen asked her little ice princess.
"I would rather bathe in a tub of sharded glass before I would shower with you, Mummy," retorted Autumn, the latter of the sentence felt like spice to the tongue.
"Oooh~! You're just like your Uncle Whitley when he didn't like bathing with me," said Weiss as she picked up her daughter.
"Probably because he went by the saying lips that feast on swine couldn't touch mine," she replied.
"Oum, such a colorful vocabulary, Missy. You're going to become a scholar like Mummy, aren't you?"
"Tutors and giving Uncle Jauney an occasional handjob doesn't qualify you as a 'scholar,' Mother."
Weiss tended to Autumn's needs as Shouto did the same with Sky. After bathing them, the Todoroki twins got dressed. Although their school provided them with options to wear street clothes or the seasonal school uniforms, Autumn felt that the prim-and-proper way to represent the Todoroki name was to wear school uniforms.
Autumn stuck out her tongue as she tightened Sky's bowtie. "There, finished!" She dusted him, checking in front of him in the mirror. "Aren't you a pretty babydoll, cutie?"
Sky didn't answer. His face remained flushed as he tried not to look at his sister in the mirror.
"We're going to make quite an impression on our first day, aren't we?" She said as she brushed his long hair. "We're going to be on our best behavior and mind you, be respectful to our teachers and peers, okay?"
The timid boy nodded as she concluded brushing his hair. Autumn gave herself a final checkup in the mirror – sporting the black-and-yellow uniform that defined their school colors — a yellow blazer with black accents, and the emblem on the blazer that also incorporated these colors.
"Oh yeah, one more thing." Autumn rushed back to their dresser to get something. In her hand, it was a red whistle. "Anytime you need me or you get scared, call out to me, okay?"
He nodded.
"Aki loves you very much and I don't want anything destroying my precious treasure." Autumn reached over and placed the whistle in his hand, covering it before kissing his hand. "Onee-chan loves you and just know that I will always be around." She pecked him on the cheek. "Okay?"
As Sky nodded, he heard the knocking coming from their father.
"Hey, sweethearts. Time for breakfast," said Shouto.
Autumn produced a genuine smile as she grabbed Sky's hand. "Yes, Father."
"By the way, Eri-chan is on her way with Aerith-chan and Ray-kun, so make haste."
"Yes, Father."
As their father left, the silver-haired twin reached over and held her brother's hand. "Remember what I told you about Aerith-chan?"
Sky nodded to his sister.
"Ari-chan thinks she loves you but she doesn't love you like I love you."
He continued to nod.
"Just pretend that you already like someone else and always say no if she confesses, okay?"
She slowly cradled his cheek before gripping. "I can stand the fact that we're all best friends, but be a good little brother and do as onee-chan says. No one loves you like Aki-chan, understand?"
"Y-yes ma'am."
"Autumn, Sky! Come down before Eri-chan gets here!"
"Coming, Mother." Autumn said, straining her voice. She took her brother's hand as they proceeded down the stairs. She wasn't particularly hungry anyway. Especially since she could smell the scent of swine looming in the air.
And their father wasn't even cooking any bacon.
Meanwhile….
Raiden was whistling a tune to his favorite Kamen Rider season as he walked with Eri and Aerith to the Todoroki residence. Aerith, still sporting her cape, was running ahead of them in case of evil villains and stray dogs.
"Which vile creature wants to challenge Shadowcat?" Aerith said with vigor, extending her wrists as if she could shoot out spider webs like Miles Morales from Spider-Man.
"So, Ari-chan is a spider cat?" Eri asked as she was amused.
"So what if I am? You're an unicorn that can shift time." Aerith responded as she placed her hands on her hips. "If I wanna be a spider cat that can make things float, then why not? Besides, I am a Faunus, you know."
"Calm down, sweetheart, I was only teasing." Eri approached her and picked her up. "You're a young hero to be, at an impressionable age to marvel and to be whatever you want to be."
Seeing that made the young neko girl blushed, although she was a bit jealous of how attentive her Ray-kun was to her. "Yes, ma'am."
"But remember, you're the hero for Ray-kun."
Raiden paused when hearing those words. "C'mon, Eri-chan. I might be quirkless but it doesn't mean I am not tough. At least I can tie my shoes and not sleep with a bedliner."
Aerith wanted to be put down when hearing those words. "What was that, Ray-kun?" She produced a smile as a bulged vein appeared on her forehead and she balled one of her fists. "What was that?"
Raiden didn't mean to. It was a slip of the tongue.
"Nothing, Ari-chan." He swallowed a lump in his throat.
"Ok..good!" Aerith kicked him in the shin.
"Ouch!"
"Eri, she did it again!" Raiden exclaimed, feigning surprise.
Aerith laughed, "Got you, Ray-kun! Learn to never challenge Shadowcat!"
Eri shook her head in amusement. "Alright, you two. No more kicking, Ari-chan. We're a team, remember?"
"Yes, ma'am." Aerith responded.
The trio continued to walk until they approached the Todoroki residence.
As they walked up the driveway, Aerith pulled Raiden back.
"Do you think it's weird that Autumn-chan and Sky-chan walk to school with us," said Aerith.
"Why is that?" Raiden asked.
"Isn't Auntie Weiss supposed to be rich? Mom said that her parents ran a company that gave them millions."
Raiden shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. I can barely do my times tables."
"No butlers, no limos. Yaoyorozu-sensei isn't afraid to be dropped off to school with her maids, butlers, and limo drivers accompanying her."
"Maybe Auntie and Uncle didn't want to be stereos or something."
"Stereos? I don't think they bang music out loud like that."
"I think you mean stereotypes."
Aerith was shook when she turned around. However she didn't see anything there. "Where was that coming from?"
"Right here."
Aerith began to squirm when she felt someone digging their fist into her hair. "Kai-kun, stop. Stop with the noogies!"
"Not until you say uncle!"
"Kai-kun, I swear to God if you keep going?"
"Or what, gonna get Ray-kun on me?!"
A few seconds later, an ice shard came out of nowhere and struck the invisible child in question.
"Ouch!"
"Kaito Rose, how many times have I kept telling you to stop this nonsense?"
The invisible boy revealed himself. A shorter kid with black spiky hair with red tips, beady eyes, and razor-like teeth was lying on the ground, rubbing the sore of his shoulder. "Sorry, Uncle Shouto!"
Shouto stood outside with his children standing next to them. Meanwhile, Raiden helped up Aerith. It wasn't long when Kaito came along with them.
Eri turned around and pulled Kaito forward. "So you decided to come early?"
"Yeah, yeah. Mom had a covert mission and left early, so here I am."
"More like Mom kicked you out to save you getting the belt from your Papa Taiyang," responded Aerith, sniggering.
Before Kaito could rebuttal, Eri grabbed hold of him.
"Alright, settle down." She nodded to Shouto. "I think the gang's all here."
"Thank you, Eri-chan, for taking them to school. We really appreciate you."
The teen smiled. "It's no problem. Besides, I enjoy this. Reminds me of when I was the school's mascot."
The icy hot father laughed. "Yeah, a little snowball you were. I just can't believe that my little ones are attending UA Elementary for the Gifted."
Kaito raised his hand. "So, if the school is for the gifted, why is Ray-kun going? He doesn't even have a quirk?"
"And you're about to not have a mouth if you keep talking," interjected Eri, glaring at the boy. She then turned to Raiden. "And for you, it reminds me of a father who thought the same thing about a certain uncle."
"Huh?" Raiden arched an eyebrow.
Shouto kissed his children's forehead as they joined Eri. "You guys be good for your onee-chan!"
"Bye!" The group said as they departed with Eri as they left for school.
To be continued….
