Idea 61: Quirk Log 10
Between working on a bunch of updates I figured why not put up another quirk log to get some feedback and give a short update on what I'm working on and the like.
Quirk Log 10
(Heads and Tails)
Quirk: Red Oni, Blue Oni
I do already have an oni Izumi but I wanted to write a human one that's still a student and has to deal with the world around her unlike her as an isolated yokai in 'Time'.
I'd essentially be taking some main parts of canon Izuku and somewhat separating and accentuating them into the two forms. Of course when not transformed then Izumi would mainly be like canon Izuku, maybe sans some confidence issues as she has a quirk and who knows where I have her be from this time and who she meets or doesn't, but then in her respective forms then some parts will be lost while strengthening others.
Her 'Red Oni' form would show more of her pure willpower and determination while also increasing her physical capabilities by a great amount but she would surrender some of her thinking side. 'Blue Oni' would instead further her mental side and give her a few unique moves that lean more into slight magic but it would hold back her willingness to jump straight in and she could be pressed when put on the back foot as she's nowhere near her same physical strength as the red one. Both her forms would boast greater overall abilities than when she's just in her regular form but of course her base form is more 'complete' in a sense.
Of course she'd also be huge in both Oni forms just more muscled in the red one as opposed to blue. They'd also have different designs too I'm just not fully set on them quite yet.

Going off a previous idea I had here for a hero Mina x civilian Izumi pairing, were Izumi is Mina's slightly older sugar mommy girlfriend, I was wondering about the dynamic and came to a certain thought. If Izumi is this hyper successful business person then should I make Mina a slight girl failure in her personal life? You know, can't really cook, is sort of messy, falls for stuff cause she's not the smartest, etc...
I don't know, I feel like I have something here. Plus it wouldn't just be for the gag within the dynamic as I'm certain I can come up with some character progression with it.
Again this would be for the yuri fic and mostly keep focus on a fun relationship without much issue but with some minor interesting details in regards to where Izumi works and how Mina feels as their relationship continues.

Izumi Quirk: Expression
-Izumi cannot hide her emotions and her deep felt expressions become somewhat exaggerated physically
This is a very strange and out there quirk. I don't even know what I'm really going for here honestly but when it comes to drawings I love exaggerated expressions to fully capture the feelings of a character. In particular when I came up with this idea I was reading a number of mangas by the artist 'Zyugoya' (Mostly normal stuff but they do have some NSFW stuff so keep that in mind if you want to look them up). I love how they draw expressions because the exaggeratedness of it also lends to a slight unsettling aspect which I thought might make for an interesting part in a fic. Maybe I'd lean into mild horror here or at least some sort of tense suspense if I can come up with an idea using this very specific and weird quirk.
I've pitched obsession a lot in this idea fic and I have to say. Obsession is something I generally dislike in writing. More accurately, I really dislike how it's usually written because often times it has a character actually encroaching on another's freedom. That's something I hate irl and can't at all find any enjoyment in it even in fiction. The obsession I do find interesting in writing is when the obsessed person is only burning themselves with it and therefore suffering it alone. So while I've come up brought the idea up multiple times, I would only really go this sort of route with it. Not too sure on a personality for Izumi yet but maybe one were she acts more outgoing than she actually is.

Quirk: Kaibutsu/Monster
Found this one sitting in my backlog from quite a while back.
So in a bid to try and do anything with an Izumi with a fire breathing quirk I came to an Izumi based on Greymon from Digimon. Basically I was trying to come up with attack names and then subconsciously called on and yelled "Nova Flame!" like Greymon does in 'Digimon the Movie 2000' against Parrotmon. I haven't even watched a lot of Digimon, that was just my favorite movie as a kid and I watched it like hundreds of times.
Also, considering that Greymon is essentially a dinosaur then to no surprise it was likely a pairing with Setsuna. I have no clue if I'd work in something with digivolving, no clue how I'd do that, or just Izumi growing into, or being able to use the different forms, but I wanted Greymon as her main thing though I do really like War Greymon. I also think that I'd keep Greymon's color scheme the same despite Izumi's being green. Not sure on that yet but I'm open to suggestions as always.
Or I can make her like Tyrantrum. Look, Setsuna x Dinogirl Izumi is the premise. For Izumi's personality maybe in contrast she's kinda shy? I think it'd be funny if she kept some features even in human form, maybe her tail at least, and is kinda clumsy at times. Also maybe she eats an absurd amount and doesn't find it strange. Not sure but I'm kinda fond of this idea as a whole.

Quirk: Something Godzilla related
I can't pick, I'm spoiled on choices but probably not Godzilla based himself cause that's been done and he's even a quirk in one of the BNHA movies.
I don't know, maybe Ghidorah aka hero of Japan when he and Mothra sold Baragon in a 1v1 with Godzilla before tag teaming him on his revenge tour and then Mothra spirit bomb sacrificed her life force for Ghidorah to evolve into King Ghidorah before later mega evolving after being team killed by the humans to wound Godzilla enough that Godzilla will blow his own ass up even after Ghidorah gets boomed into chum. (I've now described the plot of my favorite Godzilla movie in the least understandable way)
On the other hand I can just give Izumi a mech suit or quirk revolving around said mech suit that's based on Mechagodzilla. But the Kiryu version, the Dragon of Dojima unit, cause it's got the Absolute Zero cannon.
I feel like the mechagodzilla route is easy and I can do more with cause a kaiju as big and beast as King Ghidorah is hard to find a reason for being used. At that realm of kaiju, Izumi would be better off working in shipping/transportation to other countries and the like.
Then again I can always save the mechagodzilla suit idea for Momo in 'Slice of Light' despite already having one based on Tekkaman Blade. Can you imagine?
A few things.
I'm really hoping to get back into writing. I even finally bought my first desk and a new keyboard! I used to just lay on the ground which ended up with me not writing so I would very much like to do some kind of large update for a number of my fics before December is gone.
On another note, that's mainly just hope at the moment cause I've been struggling with some stuff. Insomnia which I've had for a long time has been bad lately and the reality that I've probably got around a year left with my dog of over a decade has been tough so if I can't get that update out by then just know that it is still on my mind.
A more positive thing. Any thoughts on me branching out and posting some small stuff for other fandoms? My main focus is BNHA stuff but I do enjoy a number of other mangas and games. I'd still write my ideas regardless, just at an easy pace and for me, but do you have any preference on me posting it? If I post something then I'd like it to be enjoyed by both myself and an audience. The main ones I have ideas already for are Genshin Impact, Naruto, some Bleach, and then an assortment of minor misc things like Golden Sun or Dragon Quest.
I'd basically just be injecting more F/F into other fandoms with my general writing style.
