Chapter three:

Mello groans as he awakens finding himself locked up in a padded cell. He sits up managing to do so despite the straitjacket. He slightly glances around trying to remember what happened. He finds that it takes a few moments before it all comes flooding back to him. "Shit." He grumbles to himself quietly. He sighs lowering his head. "Way to go. You've really done it this time." He grumbles slightly under his breath.

"Mello?" A voice comes through a speaker sounding female.

Mello looks up upon hearing that and glances around a little. He finally spots a camera and a speaker right by each other.

"How are you feeling?"

Mello continues to stare right at the camera. He lets out a quiet breath before responding. "I'm feeling better. I'm sorry about the commotion I caused."

There's a slight pause before the females voice responds to this. "Well at least you're feeling alright now. "We can't let you out just yet however. We need to be sure that you're feeling more stable."

"I understand." Mello speaks before she can say anything else about it. He finally looks away from the camera. "You don't need to explain it."

"Alright. Well someone will be in with you soon." The female must have left the microphone.

Mello sits there in silence trying to ignore any whispers of his demons. He just needs to make it through this. He starts to think about Near and he finds that he misses the other already. He wish he knew what was so special about him that made The blonde feel better. He swore that despite Near doesn't respond he is the only thing that helped keep the demons back. He kind of wishes that Near could be here to hang out with him... However he highly doubts that they'd allow Near close to him after what had happened. He supposes that he could still at least ask about Near at least.

It takes what feels like forever before the door finally opens gaining Mellos attention.

A woman steps inside with a white lab coat and a clipboard. She has wavy black hair pulled up into a bun, and a pair of light pink glasses on her face. She blinks her dark green eyes as she looks up from her clipboard. "Hello Mello. My name is Doctor Samantha." She greets to the restrained blonde who stares back at her. "Call me Sam for short though. I will be doing some therapy with you and also delivering your medication. So how about we start with some therapy? Does that sound good to you?"

Mello just nods his head in response to her inquiry.

"Alright. Well let us start with a few simple questions. Do you feel the darker side in you? I believe you call it your demons?"

"They are my demons." Mello confirms to the doctor. "And they're just whispers right now but nothing I can't handle." He assures her in this which she does look relieved to hear.

"That's good. Just let me know if things start to get worse for you."

At this Mello just nods his head in response.

"Alright. Refresh me on how you've managed to keep your demons at bay."

"Well usually I just try to ignore them and push them down." Mello explains to Sam who listens patiently. "However after coming here I didn't find something that did help me out." He sees her blink in interest at hearing him admit to this. "I don't know why but when my demons tried to escape Near helped keep them down." He looks away. "I can't explain it. I just looked at him and suddenly they were gone."

"Hm. We had been curious about you and Near. Since you wanted to walk with him to his session. Then it was after that the incident occurred."

"That bastard called Near a nobody!" Mello growls with his eyes flickering up angrily.

Sam takes a slight step back clearly ready to leave if Mello lets his demons out.

Mello looks away focusing as he tries to push his demons down.

Sam seems to decide to be brave as she speaks up only after a moment of watching Mello. "So. What are they telling you right now?" She waits letting Mello take his time in responding to her.

Mello manages to swallow back his demons for now at least. He lets out a breath. "Well. They want me to attack. They usually like violence. No matter what I try to tell them to discourage it."

"I see. Well is the need to attack directed at me or those that you got mad at before?"

Mello takes a moment to think on it before he responds. "Honestly they are directed at those orphans. The demons want me to go and seek them out."

"Interesting." Sam writes something on a piece of paper on her clipboard. "Is there anything you can tell me about what they want you to do?"

"Just to attack. They love violence. Right now they are wanting to target those that I attacked before." Mello tells her getting a slight hum from her. He knows that this won't help him get out of this padded cell, he just learned that he should be honest with mental health professionals. He learned a few tricks of pushing down his demons from his old doctor after all. He is well aware that they just want to help. He also doesn't want to risk making Near scared of him, or even risk hurting him in his rage.

"Well you are doing wonderful in holding them back. I am very proud of you." Sam offers Mello a warm assuring smile which does help slightly in swallowing down his demons. "Is there anything you'd like to talk to me about?" She keeps her distance.

"I know it's a long shot... But is there anyway I might be able to at least have a visit with Near?"

Sam is quiet as she thinks things over before she responds to him. "I can't promise anything. But I can see what we can do." She looks at some papers on her clipboard. "Well now. Let us start your treatment."

...

Sam had left quite a while ago after the session was over including Mello getting his meds.

Mello is lying on his left side just staring at a wall feeling quite bored. His time alone is actually kind of nice as the peace seems to make his demons quiet down. He doesn't see anyone who might make him angry after all. He blinks as the door opens. He sits up finding his gaze falling upon Sam.

"Mello? How are you doing?"

"Feeling peaceful." Mello admits to her and she smiles looking glad to hear it.

"Well you have a little surprise." Sam admits getting Mello to tilt his head. She moves further in moving out of the way of the door.

Through the door Matt is leading Near in causing Mellos eyes to widen in surprise.

"Heyo!" Matt greets with a big smile at Mello. "I offered to help bring him here." He brings Near over to sit by Mello who keeps his gaze on the white haired boy. "I probably won't stay the whole time." He must have been asked to also let Mello have time alone with Near. "Anyways. Hopefully this will help you feel better."

Mello already is starting to feel better as it's nice to have Near in here with him. He does think that he could do without Matt... Though the other is technically the one who does fully respond. So maybe he can use the other as just some actual conversation when he wants it. He keeps his focus on Near for now.
