(Sesshomaru's POV)

I watched as Kagome drifted off to sleep looking so peaceful wrapped up in my fur pelt. I stood and covered her up better with the fur so that she would get cold and she only stirred slightly before getting comfortable. My foolish brother never deserved this beautiful woman anyway. He just took advantage of her and tossed her to the side when Kikyo returned. When Kagome was granted permission to come back to this time I can't tell you how happy that made me. I knew the first time that I saw her that she was my mate, but the way the she would cling to my brother stopped me from making any moves on her.

Kagome was a free woman and her attachment to my brother broken by the discovery that Kikyo was in fact my brothers mate and Kagome was not. I think at one point before Kikyo was brought back Kagome was my brothers mate, but after Kikyo was brought back the connection was broken and she was gifted to me, the best gift any demon could receive if you ask me. I continued to watch her sleep wishing that I could freeze this moment in time so that I could gaze at her forever. I have yet to tell her that he is immortal now that she is the mate of full fledged demon.

She will be an immortal Priestess, but that wouldn't be fully completed until we have completed the mating ritual and that will happen when she is decides that she ready to be with me. I plan to give her all the time that she needs too recover from her heartbreak and I will do everything I can to help her do that. She mumbled something in her sleep but I couldn't make out what she was saying. I looked up at the sky and thanked who ever let her come back in time and remain her with me.

(Kagome's POV)

I woke up in the early hours of the morning to find that Sesshomaru had not strayed far from where he originally sat. He had however gotten up and some point to cover me with his pelt to keep me warm. I knew that I was his mate, but honestly I didn't expect this much kindness from someone I thought to be so cold. He caught me looking at him and gave me a kind smile that I am sure was reserved for only me. I gave him a smile back and could tell by looking into his eyes it made him happy. This was a side of him that I would probably only ever see.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked.

"I did, thank you for loaning me your fur pelt, it helped so much." I said to him.

"I am glad that it could provide you with comfort." Sesshomaru said to me.

"So if it isn't to much to ask, how much further are we from your estate?" I asked him.

"Since we are flying we will be there in a couple of hours as long as there is no need for any stops." He said to me.

"Alright, let me just go find somewhere to use the restroom." I said to him and he nodded, but gave me a look that said to stay close by.

I walked into the woods and found a place behind the bush to take care of my needs. Once I finished I looked up to see that Sesshomaru had his back to me attempting to give me a little more privacy. I respected that about him, but I wouldn't tell him that at this current moment. I made my way back over to him and looked up at him.

"I am ready to go when you are!" I commented while looking at him.

"As long as you are good to go I have no problem leaving whenever you are ready." He said and wrapped an arm around my waist.

His fur wrapped itself around our feet and I felt myself being lifted into the air. I didn't really ever question his choice of travel even before I learned that he was my mate. Now here I was riding in the air with him and I felt no fear what so ever. We were flying for what seemed like the entire day, but I knew it was only a couple of hours, before what I assumed was his estate came into view. It was massive with at least 200 or more steps leading up to it. The estate it self looked liked it housed serval rooms of all kinds.

There was several cherry blossoms trees also around the estate. I could see that in the middle of the estate there was a greenhouse centered in the middle of the garden. It truly was a beautiful site to see. The garden had several paths that could be followed to view they flowers and the trees and a path to get to the green house. Off in the distance a little way from the estate itself was a beautiful bath house which was large enough for serval but I knew that only Sesshomaru had ever used that bath house.

"This is your home now just as much as it is my home." He said landing on the ground softly in front of the front doors of the estate.

"Thank you. You have such a lovely home." I said to him.

'Thank you, I will show you to your room and make yourself at home from there and a servant will be up to bring you down for dinner after you have had your bath and gotten changed. I am sure that you are exhausted after you journey." He said to me in a kind voice.

"Thank you Sesshomaru. This is all so much to take in." I said to him.

"Just take your time. I have a few things to attend to otherwise I would spend time with you after showing you to your room. However a servant will bring up some lunch and a change of clothes for whenever you go to take your bath." He said as he took my hand and lead me into the estate.

"Thank you." I said with smile.

My stomach growled as walked me towards what would be my new room and I heard him chuckle but say nothing. His home was truly amazing, it was work art on the inside with so much detail on the walls. Some walls had flowers, trees, and skies, while others showed fighting. I saw that he was in some of the paintings and assumed that they were battles that he had been in. Some showed him fighting with what I assumed was his father and curious enough some of them had his mother fighting in them.

He stopped in front of a large double door and opened it. Inside the room there was a large bed set against the wall in the center of the room. There was a small stand on either side with a vase on each one. There was large wardrobe across from the bed and a mirror next to it. There was a wash bin on another stand with a mirror. There was chair in the corner by a large double door that lead to the balcony. Beautiful cherry blossom designed curtains covered the windows. I could see that the balcony had chairs as well. The room consisted of hardwood floors with Cherry blossoms imprinted on them. The room was truly a was amazing and it even had cherry blossoms on the tan walls.

"This room is amazing. How can I ever repay you?" I asked him

"There is no need to repay me, just enjoy this room and everything in it. Should need anything don't hesitate to ask. I will also have the tailor come and measure you for a new wardrobe." Sesshomaru said to me.

"You have already done so much, you really don't need to do anything else for me." I said.

"I know that you aren't ready for anything serious, but you are my mate and I plan to take care of you and give you everything that you deserve and more." He said tenderly and put a gentle hand on my cheek.

"Thank you very much." I said with a shy smile.

"You have no need to be shy around me little mate." He to me, moving his hand from face and I already missed the contact. I knew that I was blushing because he was grinning, he knew the kind of effect that he had on me and it showed.

"I will have someone bring you some food. I have a few things that I need to take care of, but I will not be far if you need just have a maid fetch me." He said and I nodded. He gave my cheek once last caress before leaving my room.

I already missed his touch but I wouldn't tell him that, he would think that he could move to kiss or something. I wasn't ready for anything to be rushed and knew that he would be patient with me, my heart was just broken by his fool of a brother. In a way I knew that Inuyasha would never love me the way that he loved Kikyo, what they had was special and I could never hope to come between that. It was still a shock to find them together and with children. Fate can be so cruel at times, but I did have Sesshomaru and he was kind to me unlike the other times that I had meet him. I never thought that I would be his mate of all people but it really didn't sound that bad and he was different around me.

A maid entered with food pulling me from my thoughts and back to reality, she also held a change of clothes in her arms. She laid everything down and walked over to me to help me into the kimono she had brought for me to wear. The kimono was black with gold print on the bottom of it. The design was simple red roses and pink petals floating on the dress, the middle piece of the kimono was the same as the gold trimming on the bottom. The kimono looked expensive and I was afraid of ruining it or moving in it. It was simple yet stunning, I had never seen one like it before. She had brought me a small meal and I was grateful for it.

"Lord Sesshomaru wishes to have dinner with you this afternoon, but he didn't want you to go hungry. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need anything." She said and bowed her head.

"Thank you miss." I said to her and she left without another word.

I sat down at the table in my room to enjoy my food. This place really was a work of art and I was glad that I got the chance to see this place and to live here. I wonder if there is a garden or library. That is something that I need to remember to ask about. I continued to look around and then looked out the window as I ate my food. The sun was starting to go down, probably had about 3 more hours of daylight at most. I am sure that this place is safe, but the dark still worries me in these times. I mean we used to get attacked in the dark almost all the time and it left me feeling unsettled. I finished my meal in no time and I had to say that it tasted really good. Sesshomaru must have some really good chefs here. I walked over to the bed and laid down to take a short nap, I was so tired. I am sure the maid will wake me when it is time to eat. I closed my eyes and let the dreamland take me. I dreamed of Sesshomaru.
